“I would like to recommend Emma as a trustworthy cat sitter. She has cared for Max many times and is very caring, pays attention to details and never forgets to update with photos as to how the visit went. Much appreciated her care”

“Hope was fabulous! Went above and beyond, kept me updated and looked after my little Nico so so well. She even helped me out when I had a last minute change of plans and needed some additional visits. Would recommend her 100%.”

“Was the first time when I left Milo alone..and I was terrified🥺 but with Justina everything was more than amazing. She is so kind and so good with cats! I can't thank her enough! Thank you ! ❤️”

“Dalo was fantastic with Holly. She's an old rescue on oral liquid medication and though Dalo hadn't medicated a cat before, he took to it like a duck to water. He was so intuitive to reading her subtle behavioural cues, and gave her the perfect amount of space and cuddles to meet her needs. Would have him again in a heartbeat!”
“This was the first time we left our cat, Cruz, with a sitter for two weeks, and we were incredibly nervous about it. But from the moment we met Pui, we knew Cruz was in safe hands. She went above and beyond her responsibilities as a cat sitter — not only did she ensure Cruz was well fed, clean, and comfortable, but she also gave him so much love and attention that he quickly developed a beautiful bond with her. One unexpected bonus: Pui is an amazing photographer! The photos she sent us of Cruz during our time away were simply stunning — beautifully captured and such a joy to receive. It was so comforting to see him happy and relaxed in her care. Pui is truly incredible, and we are so grateful for the care and compassion she showed. We highly, highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, responsible, and talented cat sitter.”

“Rosie recently stayed at our home to look after our older lady Maine Coon, Dizzy for 8 days. Rosie was great. She sent photos and videos and it looks like Rosie and Dizzy love each other now. Would have Rosie back in a heart beat… and so will Dizzy!!”

About: I’ve had my own staffy for over 10 years, been a cat sitter for many years, so many people tell me I will hardly see there cat but always manage to give them some attention which the owner is surprised and pleased at, I’ve walked dogs ranging from a toy poodle all the way to a pit bull mix. I’m currently working part time, so can always try to be flexible with your pets needs, I will always aim for your pets interests to be put first. Sadly I can not offer services in my own home. More than happy to offer service in the pets normal habitat for a stress free visit.
“Arianne is a lovely and discreet cat sitter. Our cat absolutely loved her! She even took the time to come for a meet and greet beforehand, and kept us updated with photos and messages while we were away!”

“Punsara was absolutely wonderful with my cat. She came every day as agreed and was very reliable. She spent quality time playing, giving lots of cuddles, and making sure everything felt calm and comfortable. It was clear she genuinely cares about animals, and it gave me real peace of mind knowing my cat was well looked after. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and would happily book her again.”

“Huge thank you Lesley for being such a great sitter for Matilda! You were really diligent and kind, sharing lots of detail and pictures. You went above and beyond and it set my mind at ease while on holiday. Will be sure to book again! Thanks so much. Xx”

About: Ever since i was little girl, I've always loved and cared for animals and would often bring home stray cats and dogs to my parents dismay. Growing up, our family dog would be my confidante, best friend and a play date. I am that typical individual that would melt at a sight of a pet. I live in a flat on the 2nd floor. Unsuitable for a pet, but i am surrounded by friends and family who own cats, dogs and hamsters. So not short of company ; ) During lockdown, it has highlighted the importance of caring for oneself and to surround yourself with what makes you happy, which led me to request sabbatical leave for 3 months and give myself a slower pace of life. Over the years, i have pet/house sat for friends, but this is my first time to register and become an official pet/house sitter. I understand how daunting it may be to leave your cherished family member and home behind and so i just want to reassure you that they will be spoilt with love, fun, and lots of cuddles. I'm also more than happy to meet via video, in person or have a chat over the phone, as I know that this type of decision isn't an easy one to make. Look forward to hearing from you : ) I'm due to start my sabbatical leave from the 1st of September through to 1 of December 2021, therefore, i will have a lot of free time for downtime and lots of cuddles and earn a little something whilst enjoying the company of lovable pets I am often referred to as a life coach and personal security amongst friends and family : ) A genuinely warm, bubbly individual with a positive outlook. Also very reliable, trustworthy and honest person.

“Larissa has been incredible with Kobe. He can be very nervous meeting new people and she made him feel very comfortable. He’s also quite big and boisterous and she was able to handle him with ease.”

“Rachael has been absolutely fantastic with Jupiter. She looked after him for a week and she made sure he was being fed, cleaned and she was also playing with him all the time. I would recommend Rachael as she is 100% reliable. We would definitely ask her to cat sit Jupi once again! ”

“Sin took excellent care of our cat. He was happy, relaxed and clearly well looked after when we returned. She also made sure everything was left in good order. We were really pleased with her care and will definitely use her again. ”

About: I have taken care of my aunt's young, feverish dachshund since 2022, and I have been trusted to feed, bathe, walk, and play with him. I'm currently a student studying at the university of Kent so I have more than enough of time to watch over your dogs or cats. I care for pets by following their routines, providing food, walks, play, and plenty of attention, and ensuring their safety, happiness, and comfort at home.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Croydon
Nicole was fantastic and very communicative throughout. She clearly cared a lot about making sure Fiji was well looked after. He’s a very shy and nervous cat, but Nicole really made an effort to encourage him to come inside to eat and left treats for him when he was too scared to come in. She kept us updated with photos and videos throughout, which was really reassuring while we were away. We felt very happy knowing Fiji was being well cared for and would definitely recommend Nicole to anyone looking for a kind and attentive cat sitter. Thank you so much! 😊

We can't thank Emma enough for stepping in at short notice and taking superb care of our three cats. With an aged and blind ginger tom, an old but still sharp and sprightly female tabby and a young and playful black and white girl, they each have very different needs so it is far from a straightforward job. We received regular pictures and reports and she even went the extra mile, vacuuming up after the youngest got a bit too enthusiastic with her digging in the litter box. We came home to three cats that were as relaxed and rested as we were after our city break. Thanks again, Emma.
I couldn’t be happier with Kunal. He sent me pictures from every visit, discussing not only how my two cats were doing but also the changes in the weather which, at the moment is concerning when you have pets. He was respectful of my home, only going upstairs to check on the whereabouts of Ruby when I suggested that she may be under my bed. I returned to two very happy cats and a tidy home. Kunal even went above and beyond by putting my bins out for me. If there were more stars I’d give them.

Alice was amazing, sending pictures every day of her taking care of and bonding with our kitties, with excellent communication. I felt they were in great hands and would definitely recommend Alice to anyone needing a cat sitter. She even watered a few plants for us!

Lucja was absolutely lovely and took such great care of my little boy while I was away. She was incredibly caring, attentive and gentle with him, and I felt completely reassured knowing he was in such good hands. She kept me updated regularly and always sent lovely pictures, which I really appreciated. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him and made sure he was happy and well looked after. I would definitely recommend Lucja and would happily have her look after him again!

Jo is one of the kindest, most accommodating and flexible people I’ve ever trusted with my pets. Not only does she walk my dog with so much care — taking slow, shaded routes on hot days and always making sure she has water — but she has also looked after my two cats when I’ve been away. One of my cats is extremely anxious and doesn’t let anyone near him. Yet somehow, she is one of the very few people he will actually approach and allow to stroke him. That alone speaks volumes about her gentle nature and the way animals feel safe around her My dog absolutely adores her and gets excited every time she arrives. Jo has been really understanding and accommodating whenever my plans have changed. She is very reliable and I trust her to look after my pets just like they were her own, she's amazing and I would highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
