“Hope was an absolutely wonderful sitter—she went above and beyond expectations. I received plenty of updates and was genuinely able to relax on my holiday, not worrying about my little stinker back home. Most importantly, Lola loved her.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and currently have my 10 year old Maltese boy, Tucker. I’m not in a position to get a second dog, but would love to help others all whilst Tucker makes some new friends! I work from home full-time, Monday-Friday, so your doggo would have access to me 24/7. I have my own dog, Tucker, a pure-bred Maltese, who would love to make some friends along the way! I live in a one-bedroom flat, and have easy access to outdoor space. Similarly, I can walk ten minutes to reach my local park, so walkies are easy :)

“Larissa has been incredible with Kobe. He can be very nervous meeting new people and she made him feel very comfortable. He’s also quite big and boisterous and she was able to handle him with ease.”

“We were extremely happy with the care our cats received last week. Emma is a fantastic catsitter, providing daily updates and photos/videos that gave us real peace of mind while we were away. We could see our 2 cats were well looked after and received lots of attention. Thank you for taking such great care of our cats! 🐱😁”

“Drew was great with my dogs. Very chilled vibes, not phased by my old barky dog and great communication throughout too. Can see why he's very popular! My female dog liked him very much too :)”
“Justina provided excellent care for my two cats over Christmas and New Year. She sent me regular updates and reassured me they were well looked after. I will definitely be working with her again and would recommend her highly to others.”

“Huge thank you Lesley for being such a great sitter for Matilda! You were really diligent and kind, sharing lots of detail and pictures. You went above and beyond and it set my mind at ease while on holiday. Will be sure to book again! Thanks so much. Xx”

“Margaret was incredible with Envy, she took her on long walks, drop-ins full of cuddles. My dog warmed up to her very quickly. She provided images and updates on what they got up to throughout the visits. I highly recommend her and will be reaching out to her when I need. Thanks again Margaret!”

“This is the first time I have used Rover and I was anxious. My cat, Lilly, was phased by my going away but Pui was patient and very kind to her so by the end of the week Lilly was playful again. I had advice, daily updates and videos which put my mind at ease. Pui is a treasure who is definitely worthy of 5 stars.”

“Rachael has been absolutely fantastic with Jupiter. She looked after him for a week and she made sure he was being fed, cleaned and she was also playing with him all the time. I would recommend Rachael as she is 100% reliable. We would definitely ask her to cat sit Jupi once again! ”

“Megan was great with Kobe. He can be nervous meeting new people and she knew exactly how to be with him to make him feel at ease. She sent lots of photo updates and photos and Kobe looked like he was having a great time!”

About: I’ve been around and adored both cats and dogs from my childhood. I’ve never understood the great divide between cat and dog lovers…why can’t I be both?! I’m a remote freelance designer so have a very flexible schedule that can shift around the needs of your pet. I don’t have pets or family of my own, so your furry friend can be my priority! Without the need to go into an office during the day, I have the ability to care for your pet in the comfort of their own environment.

“Charlie has been great! It was the first time for me using Rover and I was a bit worried at first, but it's been super easy getting everything organised with Charlie. My cat Sally liked her straight away and she looked very happy in all the reports ?”

About: I have taken care of my aunt's young, feverish dachshund since 2022, and I have been trusted to feed, bathe, walk, and play with him. I'm currently a student studying at the university of Kent so I have more than enough of time to watch over your dogs or cats. I care for pets by following their routines, providing food, walks, play, and plenty of attention, and ensuring their safety, happiness, and comfort at home.

Shannon is an amazing and trustworthy sitter! She took an excellent care of our cat and provided regular updates on her! Shannon is very responsive and communication was great! We left during a heatwave and we were worried about the heat affecting our cat but Shannon ensured she was hydrated and cool! It was the first time leaving our cat with a pet sitter and Shannon was very reassuring and our holiday was amazing without worrying about our little girl! I definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for someone who loves cats and has a lot of experience love and patience! l will definitely use her services again! Thank you Shannon for taking such a great care of Nova, playing and give her favourite treats! We returned home to a very happy 🐈⬛! Thank you again for your amazing care!xx

Emma has impressed me from the very first intro visit - she asked all the important questions, noted everything down. Her communication was great, and her photo skills are excellent! Most importantly, she's a great person - she loves cats, she's friendly and open, and my baby Espresso liked her too (which is great, she's very picky with humans!). We'll be asking for Emma's help again.

Natalie was fantastic with Dita and gave me plenty of updates on how she was getting on whilst I was away. I came back to a happy and relaxed cat. Natalie’s communication before and after the time she was looking after Dita was excellent ans left me feeling confident Dita would be well looked after. Highly recommend!

Alison was amazing with my two kitties and looked after them so well. She has a natural way with cats, they both warmed to her right away despite them often being quite shy to strangers! Definitely book Alison for your pet care! Thanks for being so great and helping us so last minute as well. Appreciate it hugely!

I am so grateful for the good fortune of coming across Charles on Rover. I hadn't left my boy Baxter for one night for over 18 months as he had gone through a battle with IVDD and the following rehab. As a result I was nervous and hesitant to even try and find someone but a work commitment meant I finally had to. With relatively short notice, Charles was incredibly helpful and accommodating to all the advanced / specific care requirements I explained for Bax (including his reactivity to other dogs during walks) and very kindly fit me in for two separate introduction meet and greets to help put Baxter at ease with someone new. Charles struck me as an extremely responsible, trustworthy, understanding person whose love of animals is obvious. During the 48 ish hours I had to be away, Charles sent regular updates and photos and I returned home to a perfectly happy, healthy, non-anxious dog. Charles has my highest recommendation for anyone looking for care for their dog and I will definitely look to book with him again. Thank you so much!

Karolina was an absolutely wonderful cat sitter! She took excellent care of our tuxedo girl, November, and managed his the feeding schedule and her garden walk perfectly. We had complete peace of mind while we were away and came home to a very happy and relaxed cat. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter. Thank you, Karolina!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Croydon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
