“Was the first time when I left Milo alone..and I was terrified🥺 but with Justina everything was more than amazing. She is so kind and so good with cats! I can't thank her enough! Thank you ! ❤️”

About: Hello! My name is Thea and I am 30 years old. I grew up in the Berkshire countryside with a menagerie of animals and moved to South London 5 years ago. I now live with my partner and our two indoor cats, Tusk and Aurora, who are gracious enough to let us think we’re in charge. - I have always loved animals. I grew up in a family of five with a large extended animal family, including Patch the horse, Ghillie, Lana and Peggy the black labradors, Alice and Hugo the cats, an African Grey parrot called Puzi, many guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits and chickens (whose eggs I used to sell to neighbours as an entrepreneurial 8-year-old), Great African Land Snails (yes, really), professional escape artist stick insects (...don’t ask), and a tortoise called Joey who is estimated to be 80+ years old! - Dogs: I particularly love dogs and would describe myself as a dog person first. I have raised three Black Labrador puppies, including Lana, a now happily retired working gun dog, who I trained from a puppy, competed with and worked myself. I am experienced with all aspects of day-to-day dog care, reinforcing training and good habits, and making sure they get plenty of attention, exercise and fun! I am confident with dogs of all ages, breeds and temperaments, and particularly enjoy working with puppies, using patience, consistency and clear boundaries to keep them calm and relaxed. I am also experienced with elderly and post-operative care, including following medication routines, monitoring wounds and attending vet appointments. - Cats: I grew up with two cats, a tortoiseshell called Alice and a ginger tom called Hugo. Alice is very much part of the family and, at nearly 20 years old, is still happily pootling around at home - in fact, we all swear she’s getting younger! I’ve had plenty of hands-on experience caring for my own indoor cats Tusk and Aurora from kittenhood onwards. They came to me at just 14 weeks old, so I’m very familiar with the day-to-day needs of young cats, as well as the changes that come with age. I am comfortable with all aspects of day-to-day cat care, including feeding, automatic feeders, litter trays, grooming and medication - alongside all the other tasks they seem to believe are part of my job as their live-in maid! - Other animals: Growing up, I regularly helped care for all of the animals at home. I am an experienced horse rider and spent a lot of time at the yard with our horse Patch, and hacking out with others in the Berkshire countryside before moving to London. I previously worked as a stable manager for a small children’s riding school in Henley-on-Thames, where my responsibilities included liaising with clients, running the yard, managing feed and medication, grooming and exercising, and providing individual care. I also led summer schools, taught private riding lessons, led hacks and ran pony parties for young children. - I am based in a secure flat with access to a large dog-friendly park and wider green spaces. I am an experienced house sitter, driver and volunteer with Croydon Animal Samaritans as an animal taxi. I am also a professional musician and qualified secondary school music teacher. Please do get in touch with me about your pet, as I would love to hear from you! I am based at home, have a flexible schedule and am available for indoor cat boarding, pet drop-ins during the day, and morning dog walks (the earlier the better, especially in the summer!)/late afternoon dog walks. I will aim to work with your pet's usual schedule wherever possible. Pet drop-ins: I am happy to follow whatever routine is best for your pet wherever possible. Medication must be prescribed and accompanied by clear instructions from your vet. **PLEASE NOTE: Owners must provide their own food and treats. All instructions for feeding/medication must be clear and received in advance. Please be honest about your situation and ensure that your space is secure, safe and tidy before drop-ins** - Indoor cat boarding: I offer boarding for indoor cats in a secure flat without garden access, with two humans and two resident indoor cats. During their stay, visiting cats can have access to the whole flat, or their own space away from my cats. Whatever they choose, they will be kept company by and have access to at least one human, including overnight. ** PLEASE NOTE: Your cat must be FIV/FeLV negative, indoor only, comfortable around other cats, litter-trained, spayed/neutered and up to date with vaccinations, flea and worm treatments. Vaccinations must include protection against feline panleukopenia/infectious enteritis and feline respiratory viruses (cat flu, including herpesvirus and calicivirus). Owners must provide proof of vaccination and recent flea and worm treatment. Cats must not have been recently exposed to or be showing signs of an infectious illness, including sneezing, coughing, diarrhoea, vomiting, eye or nose discharge, unexplained lethargy or skin problems. Aggression will not be tolerated. Unfortunately, I cannot accommodate cats that do not meet these requirements or put my cats at risk in any way. Owners must provide a crate, blanket/towel that smells of you, food and treats, medication and toileting setup** - Dog walks: Your dog will be collected by car and walked in a large dog-friendly park and surrounding countryside. **PLEASE NOTE: Owners must provide their own treats. All dogs without reliable recall will be kept on a long lead. Aggression will not be tolerated** - Photos can be taken on request.

“Thanks again to Hope for being such a reliable and considerate sitter for my cats. Hope really takes the time to make sure they are happy and all the needed tasks are done. She keeps good consistent communication which makes everything so much easier and leaves you with peace of mind.”

“Hi I was delighted with Larissa's care for my cat. She is naturally good at making cats feel happy with her, took time to meet and greet first, prompt arrival and gave detailed update and photos. She went to some effort to make sure Max was in a safe place and secure before leaving, I shall definitely book Larissa again and recommend her to others”

“Drew has looked after my dogs a few times and he has been great with them even though they aren't the most confident of dogs. There was a bit of confusion on the day (my fault entirely) but he handled it calmly and with understanding which was reassuring while I was at work. Thank you!”
“Rachael has been absolutely fantastic with Jupiter. She looked after him for a week and she made sure he was being fed, cleaned and she was also playing with him all the time. I would recommend Rachael as she is 100% reliable. We would definitely ask her to cat sit Jupi once again! ”

About: I’ve recently started pet sitting for a huge array of friends because I’m working from home practically all the time. I’m conscientious and want to learn all about your pet before looking after them and giving them all the care they need. I run my own book agency so I’m in control of my own time and very flexible. I’m also a night owl so happy to stay up late if needs be. I have a small flat, which I keep clean, tidy, well-ventilated and safe, and I’m a short walk from a local park. I’m very happy to entertain pets if I have the time.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs and currently have my 10 year old Maltese boy, Tucker. I’m not in a position to get a second dog, but would love to help others all whilst Tucker makes some new friends! I work from home full-time, Monday-Friday, so your doggo would have access to me 24/7. I have my own dog, Tucker, a pure-bred Maltese, who would love to make some friends along the way! I live in a one-bedroom flat, and have easy access to outdoor space. Similarly, I can walk ten minutes to reach my local park, so walkies are easy :)
“Giulia was brilliant and I really felt comfortable leaving her with my cat despite not having previously used this service. She's always very prompt with her communication and proactive in terms of ensuring everything was covered before I departed. I would highlighly recommend.”
“Jo is one of the kindest, most accommodating and flexible people I’ve ever trusted with my pets. Not only does she walk my dog with so much care — taking slow, shaded routes on hot days and always making sure she has water — but she has also looked after my two cats when I’ve been away. One of my cats is extremely anxious and doesn’t let anyone near him. Yet somehow, she is one of the very few people he will actually approach and allow to stroke him. That alone speaks volumes about her gentle nature and the way animals feel safe around her My dog absolutely adores her and gets excited every time she arrives. Jo has been really understanding and accommodating whenever my plans have changed. She is very reliable and I trust her to look after my pets just like they were her own, she's amazing and I would highly recommend!”

“As in previous occasions, Abigail has been a fantastic carer for our two guinea pigs. Lots of updates and pictures, good communication, she is just perfect! More than recommended.”

“Huge thank you Lesley for being such a great sitter for Matilda! You were really diligent and kind, sharing lots of detail and pictures. You went above and beyond and it set my mind at ease while on holiday. Will be sure to book again! Thanks so much. Xx”

“Megan was great with Kobe. He can be nervous meeting new people and she knew exactly how to be with him to make him feel at ease. She sent lots of photo updates and photos and Kobe looked like he was having a great time!”

What a fabulous person Louise is, she looked after my little Marmo for just under 2 weeks and she sent photos of her and looked like Marmo had a fabulous time, I have came home and the house is still clean and tidy and Louise made sure Marmo’s litter and food was clean throughout the weeks. I will be booking her again so thank you so much Louise x

This is the second time we've booked Sharon to look after our two elderly cats whilst on holiday for a few days. Sharon was responsible for providing oral injections to both cats and feeding twice daily. All went smoothly, Sharon is very pleasant to deal with and super reliable, will definitely book Sharon again.

This was the second time Emma looked after my cat, and just like the first time she was brilliant from start to finish, providing regular updates and photos which gave reassurance everything was ok. It was very smooth and I would have no hesitation in using Emma again.

Lauren is amazing! She is helping me to train my new puppy and she’s so kind and comes with lots of enrichment toys and treats. She is really helping me to calm Lily down and has given me lots of tips, to help me integrate a dog into a household with autistic children. She’s a brilliant communicator too and so helpful, brilliant, punctual, calm and supportive in every way. Lily loves her coming round and is so happy with her so I cannot recommend Lauren highly enough!

Shannon stepped in at very short notice - the next day - to look after my cat Ameera, and she was fantastic. She clearly knows and understands cats — she picked up on Ameera's feeding schedule right away and used great initiative, keeping both water fountains topped up and clean, staying on top of cleaning the litter box, and washing the feeding bowls - great, as hygiene is very important for cats 🐾 I received daily photos and videos, including Shannon sitting with and grooming Ameera, which put my mind completely at ease. Came home to a spotless apartment (litter area included!) and a happy, well-groomed, contented cat. 🐾 Personable, reliable, communicative and trustworthy — I highly recommend booking Shannon - you will not be disappointed 🐾🐾 Samantha

Yvette was marvellous, our cat Michelle was very happy and chilled when we got back from a week away. She did two visits per day, sent us very cute pics each time to let us know she was ok and even kindly replaced the litter when we realised it was running out. Highly recommend!

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Croydon pet parents with similar pet households.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Croydon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
