Samuel always does a brilliant job looking after our cats, Pancetta and Noodles, whenever we’re away. We completely trust him, and it’s clear our cats do too. He keeps us updated, takes great care of them, and gives us real peace of mind while we’re away. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Christina was incredibly friendly and did an amazing job looking after my cat Levi while I was away over the Easter weekend. She organised a meet and greet before I went away and she put any concerns I had at ease. Levi loved her and she really went the extra mile to ensure that he was well looked after and I was updated every step of the way. I would recommend Christina to anybody looking for somebody to sit their pet, Levi is already looking forward to her next visit!

About: An animal lover through and through! I’m best suited to dogs who enjoy an active routine or a puppy, but I’m happy to be flexible. With a City & Guilds in Dog Walking, a Dog First Aid certificate, and a background working for various professional dog companies, I provide expert, high-standard care. I am a 5-Star Sitter on Rover, committed to maintaining a premium service for my clients. Location: Based in the Sutton and Reigate area, I’m currently offering services locally. I have previously travelled further afield for sits and may expand my coverage again in the future. Dog Walking: I love taking dogs out for walks and making sure they get plenty of fresh air and exercise. I’m happy to offer solo walks when needed, as well as longer or more active outings for dogs who enjoy extra time outdoors. I’m happy to walk your recommended route and make every outing safe, structured, and enjoyable, so your dog comes home happy and settled. Pet Sitting & Home Care: While pet sitting, I offer total peace of mind through a premium level of pet and home care. I take great pride in being a respectful and reliable guest; I maintain a clean, tidy, and well-kept environment so you can return to a home exactly as you left it. Beyond pet care, I provide a high level of property security, remaining vigilant and attentive while staying in your home. I also manage essential household tasks such as watering plants and managing bins, ensuring your property is secure, lived-in, and perfectly maintained in your absence. My days are structured around providing reliable and professional pet care. Having managed schedules for various dog walking companies, I am experienced in creating a consistent routine that prioritises individual needs. My current focus allows me to balance quality time, playtime, and structured outdoor adventures, ensuring every dog in my care maintains a healthy and active rhythm throughout the day. When caring for pets in their own homes, my primary focus is sticking to their routine and adhering to the owner's instructions. I understand that dogs thrive on a familiar routine and I aim to minimise any disruption to their usual day. During visits, I ensure they receive fresh food and water, administer any necessary medication, and provide ample opportunities for exercise and play as requested. For dog walking, I follow the owner's preferred routes and ensure a safe and enjoyable outing. I also take care of essential tasks like cleaning up after pets and ensuring their environment remains tidy. I provide regular updates to owners, including photos and messages, so they can feel reassured their pets are in good hands. I am always available to answer any questions or address any concerns and treat the owner's home with the utmost respect.

About: I have loved dogs and cats all my life. When i was little I wanted to become a vet so I can be closer to them, groom them, make them better, etc. I always adored washing them, brushing them, etc. But most importantly sleeping with them. I lived in a flat without any pets for a short period of time and it felt so "not home". I come from a family where we always had animals around and they were valued family members. Life had different plans and I didn't become a vet, but a nurse. And I have been looking after people for the past decade. But that doesn't mean cats and dogs are no longer my passion. They are my biggest hobby and my favourite therapy. All my friends count on me when it comes about pet sitting. I also got 2 cats of my own which I adore and that could not live without. I have a hybrid job, with at least one day from home weekly, sometimes two. I also have all weekends off. I am crazy about doggy day care but boarding too. I can also do local visits, both cats and dogs. I have a fenced garden. A spacious house. Two very low energy cats who like living in their own space. They don t like other cats in their environment but they accept dogs. If needed they can be separated as the house is on 2 levels

About: Hello! I’m Anna a lifelong cat lover with over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for my own boy, Prince, who I adored for over a decade. I understand cats deeply, their personalities, their moods, their routines, and their boundaries. I’m gentle, patient, and very tuned in to how animals feel. I’ve looked after anxious cats, affectionate cats, playful cats, and older cats who needed extra comfort. Because I recently lost my own cat, I have a huge soft spot for making other people’s pets feel loved, safe, and calm while their owners are away. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every cat as if they were my own.

About: Hi, I’m Grace! Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with two lovely Labradors and was always surrounded by dogs of all shapes and sizes, from energetic Spaniels to gentle giants like Dogue de Bordeaux. Since 2018, I’ve worked professionally with dogs, starting as a dog walker and progressing to Operations Manager at a busy dog walking company. In that role, I regularly handled groups of up to 4 dogs at once and was trusted by owners to care for their pets in their homes. I also spent time volunteering at a dog and cat rescue in Thailand, working closely with animals from difficult backgrounds. That experience taught me patience, empathy, and how to build trust with nervous or reactive pets. I hold a Level 2 Award in Canine Care & Behaviour, and for the past four years I worked at Battersea Dogs & Cats Homeas a Rehoming and Welfare Coordinator. There, I supported dogs with a wide range of behavioural and medical needs, helping them transition into safe, loving homes. I now work for another charity in a home-based role, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate more time and attention to the dogs in my care. I am currently home-based with two days in the office a month which I know far in advance to ensure your pets are not left on their own for the day. When I am house sitting or boarding, I will always inform you on dates & times where I may be out for a couple of hours. In regards of home boarding, I have plenty of experience dog sitting for clients in their homes and I would be happy to provide new clients with references upon request. I am very comfortable with cameras being within the home as I understand the importance of earning trust. Whist I am able to provide boarding at my home, it is important to note I have two residents dogs. One being a very chill independent female neutered French bulldog and one more active playful female neutered golden retriever. I will also provide clients with daily photos and updates of their dogs whilst they are in my care.

I can’t recommend Julia highly enough! She took such amazing care of my cat while I was away for two weeks. She didn’t just feed him, she genuinely looked after him and treated him like her own. During the heatwave, she even brought extra cold treats and added water to his food to make sure he stayed hydrated. Every visit included time playing with him and giving him attention, rather than simply coming in and leaving. My cat is very shy and usually takes a long time to warm up to new people, but he loved Julia from their very first meeting. That alone says so much about how kind and caring she is. Knowing he was with someone who truly loves cats meant I could completely relax and enjoy my trip without worrying about his wellbeing. Julia was always on time, reliable and went above and beyond in every way. She is simply the best cat sitter I could have asked for!

We cannot recommend Sonia highly enough - she looked after our 3 cats brilliantly while we were away for 5 days. In addition to the general "looking after" of our fur babies (which she did brilliantly) Sonia went that extra mile by giving each of them individual attention, playing with them and spoiling them with treats etc which we so appreciated. We were sent regular photos and videos which were great to receive. Initially, one of our cats did play up (in protest of our leaving them) and played hard to get but Sonia was an absolute trooper and managed with her cat whisperer skills to bring them around. We cannot thank Sonia enough for the care she took of our babies - it was great to be able to go away and know that your fur babies were in safe hands and would be well looked after and spoilt in our absence.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Banstead choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
