“We had a really positive experience with Kat as our dogsitter. Initially, we had booked an overnight stay, but due to a change of plans, we adjusted it to an evening stay of around 7–8 hours. Kat was incredibly accommodating and understanding about the change, and also very flexible with both drop-off and pick-up times, which we really appreciated. Before the stay, Kat arranged a meet-and-greet session, which made a big difference in helping both us and the dogs feel comfortable. Our dogs are quite attached to us, so we were a little unsure how they would cope, especially as it was their first time staying with a dogsitter. However, everything went smoothly. Megan has been an amazing find for us and Cleo. She looked after Cleo like she was her own pet. She followed the routines as requested, but also had enough flexibility that Cleo had an absolute treat for the two weeks that we were away. We had regular photo and text updates. Megan was so reassuring when we texted to say that we would be later than expected due to flight delays. She is very obviously a dog lover, and a very mature and responsible sitter.

Georgina and her family took wonderful care of Sammy for 8 days while we were away. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
