“Mark & his wife took fantastic care of Penny when they had her overnight. Penny is a two year old vizsla and can be a handful but they were more than happy to accommodate her, took her for plenty of walks and gave her lots of cuddles! They met us for a walk beforehand which we appreciated so we could show them how penny behaves when out and about and they took a lot of interest in how they could best care for her. They sent lots of photos and kept us up to date the whole time we were away, I would 100% recommend and we’ll definitely be using them again!”

“There are many people offering boarding ! However Emma and her partner go to the next level . About: I have looked after a variety of animals since a young age currently have three cats of my own ranging from a kitten to a 20-year-old cat. I am currently working shift patterns. My cat roam freely during the day. They are provided both with a breakfast and an evening meal before and after work. I have a fenced in garden. We couldn't recommend her more highly.”

About: I'm a mum of 2 older children that are both at school, my husband is Chris, who works from home. Im currently doing a flexible online course so am home most of the day. I live in Brockham which is surrounded by paths and fields. I love the outdoors and try and go for walks everyday. I'm easy going and very flexible, I have a car so travelling is not a problem. I drop my children off around 8:30 and then collect them at 3. In between those times I'm very flexible with walks and slotting it around my studies and children. We have a fenced garden and are both home all day, our children are generally at home from about 4. Both of them are very used to dogs as all our extended family have dogs, Grandma has Izzy a golden retriever, Uncle Paul has Milly a lab cross, then we have 2 lots of spaniels and a beagle. We often have Obi come to stay and he is a labradoodle . We do have Bluey our cat, she usually goes upstairs when dogs are here. We have a big open area downstairs but prefer to not have dogs upstairs.
“Stefanie and her husband were a joy to meet and to look after Otter. Otter had a great time with them. They had a lot of walks which Otter enjoys. I felt very confident to leave Otter with them. Thank you very much!”

“Maggie is absolutely amazing! Great communication and lots of lovely updates about my doggy when we were away for 2 weeks. She took him on lots of walks and fun adventures and he was so happy! I could see my little boy was very well looked after when I collected him. If you’re looking for someone to love and care for your fur baby then I 100% recommend Maggie. Thank you so very much! I will definitely be a returning customer!”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Reigate
What a perfect first experience using Rover! Carys was friendly, communicated often and gave reassuring updates. Full of care and attention to Caramels needs. I was reassured I’d made the right choice leaving Caramel with her. She took Caramel on lovely walks and experience’s. Caramel seemed to thrive staying with other dogs. She was happy and relaxed throughout which was a great comfort to me. I’d highly recommend Carys and look forward to her caring for Caramel again soon! Thank you Carys!
Stephanie was and has been very communicative from our 1st enquiry, through our holiday and upto collection last evening. She also made time for us to take our dog to meet her and her husband once our booking was confirmed and then came to visit in our home a week before our holiday. Our boy clearly had a lovely time and we wouldn't hesitate in leaving our dog with her in the future, many thanks Stephanie !
Izzie provided exceptional care for my large dog, Bowie, during the Christmas break. She kept me thoroughly updated on Bowie's well-being throughout his stay. I was so impressed with her attentiveness and genuine affection for my pet. It was incredibly reassuring to know Bowie was in such capable and caring hands. I would highly recommend Izzie to anyone seeking a trustworthy and wonderful pet sitter.

Lola stayed with Morgan for a couple of days over Christmas and despite the stress of not being at home with us, she was was really well looked after and was super happy to be there. She was a little scared of Christmas crackers but Morgan knew how to calm her down and we could tell by all the photos that she was having a blast and loved spending Christmas with Morgan and family. Thank you Morgan for looking so well after Lola!!

Absolutely fantastic care for my little Bella. Diana was really nice and accommodating. Checked and double checked her feed times, medication before I left. Took her for some nice walks and she was very happy. Got sent loads of photos of how happy Bella was and wouldn’t hesitate to use Diana again.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
