“Alexandra was welcoming and friendly, and great at sending us photos and updates of our happy pooch! Riley was really happy and was treated like she was at home! We’ll definitely be using Alexandra again next time we go away! Can’t recommend her enough”

“If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Emma and Shae were amazing with Buddy who was a nervy mess to start with. By the end of day 1 he was clearly having a great time, and was effectively part of the family. Getting Emma’s ‘Pupdates’ was the highlight of my day. ☺️ I am so grateful to them for going above and beyond what I expected. They have ruined us for all other dog sitters. Thank you so much for taking care of our cuddle monster.”

“I was so nervous leaving my dog for a weeks boarding for the first time, Mark immediately put my mind at ease. Seeing how much effort and kindness he puts into bonding with the dogs he looks after made me so comfortable when leaving my dog with him. Mark gave us updates and lovely photos throughout, would 100% book with Mark again. Thanks so much!”

“Sarah and family were fantastic when looking after our boy, he even came back to use much better behaved than before! Super communicative throughout the stay with regular updates.”

“Sarah has been amazing looking after our eight month old puppy, Not everyone would take on a puppy who comes with all their energy and boundary testing. We were kept informed about his antics and we were able to all meet before his stay. I would recommend Sarah to look after your pet.”

About: have always had a genuine love and respect for animals and understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for when their owners are away. Growing up with two cats and a dog, I have had the joy of experiencing the companionship, personalities, and individual needs that make every pet unique. I am a reliable, patient, and caring person who enjoys spending time with animals, whether that’s going for walks, providing companionship, playing, or simply making sure they feel happy and settled. Although I am new to Rover, I am not new to caring for pets and understand the trust owners place in someone looking after their beloved animals. I will take the time to get to know your pet’s routine, personality, and preferences, ensuring they receive the attention, affection, and care they deserve. My priority is to provide a safe, loving, and reassuring experience for both you and your pet. I’m currently working full time, however I am free after 5pm on weekdays and free on the weekends for boarding/walks/looking after for the day. I currently have the summer holidays off work and Christmas/half terms off work so will be available to look after your pets then too :) have a spacious home with plenty of land, including a secure front and back garden with gates, giving pets a safe and comfortable environment to enjoy. I live next to a farm with lots of green space and beautiful walking routes, perfect for dogs who enjoy exploring and getting fresh air. I don’t have any pets or children, meaning your dog or cat will receive my full attention, care, and companionship during their stay. I will make sure they feel relaxed, happy, and well looked after while they are with me.
“Captain has just come home from another lovely stay with Shirley, and he was all waggy tails and happiness when we picked him up. I can’t recommend Shirley highly enough, she is so caring and professional, and I always know Captain will be incredibly well looked after. I love all the photo updates and having someone who takes such special care of him means a lot to us.”

“Tansy was amazing with our dog while we were away for the week. He is anxious and needs a quiet caring environment to feel at ease. Tansy provided both of these. He was out for 2 walks a day as well as being played with in the garden in between. Tansy was very flexible with drop off and collection time and provided beautiful photos and videos of our dog everyday, which we loved. Will definitely be rebooking with Tansy”

“Lindsay looked after Arlo, my 1 year old cocker spaniel; whilst I was away for the first time. She was fantastic, sent regular updates and really felt she looked after him like he was her own. Highly recommend.”

“We found Abby through the Rover site, and she looked after our Boston Terrier Jimmy for 10 days while we were away on holiday. Very easy to deal with vis the Rover site and extremely efficient. She and her family are lovely and Jimmy felt right at home straight away! During his stay, Abby sent regular updates with photos and videos, which was great. Jimmy came back after having his own special holiday with Abby!! We’ll definitely be booking with her again. If I could leave 6 stars, I would. Great dog sitting family!!”

“My 10 months on Hungarian Vizsla boy stayed with Charlotte for almost two weeks. Charlotte and her family is absolutely wonderful. She has two gorgeous Weimaraner who Marley loved to stay and play with. She is very reliable, honest, helpful and great at communication. I was very relaxed to leave Marley with her as I knew she is very experience with this type of bread as well as her children adored Marley! Marley can't wait to stay with them again! Thank you so much again!”

About: I have had 3 dogs of my own more have regularly looked after 3 others while owners have been on holidays. To me they are family and are treated as such. Your pets will be loved by me and will have full access of the house and garden. I owned 2 staffies and a Spanish mastiff. I regularly look after a frenchie a spaniel and 3 greyhounds. I am retired so I can give your pet as much attention as is required. I prefer animals that can be left a few hours so I can still get out for shopping etc. But I could accommodate more needy ones for short periods of time. I have a small fenced garden and no other animals to disturb your cat. Happy to stay or drop in at your house if its local to me also.
About: I have had dogs my whole life some from puppies some rescued. I am at home in the day and offer a warm environment with fabulous local dog walks. Our children are all at school so I am available term time during the week. Plenty of time for walks and play. Overnight stays may be possible. We have a large fenced garden on a private road with good walking. I have a large kitchen with an aga so nice and warm!

About: I'm a mum of 2 older children that are both at school, my husband is Chris, who works from home. Im currently doing a flexible online course so am home most of the day. I live in Brockham which is surrounded by paths and fields. I love the outdoors and try and go for walks everyday. I'm easy going and very flexible, I have a car so travelling is not a problem. I drop my children off around 8:30 and then collect them at 3. In between those times I'm very flexible with walks and slotting it around my studies and children. We have a fenced garden and are both home all day, our children are generally at home from about 4. Both of them are very used to dogs as all our extended family have dogs, Grandma has Izzy a golden retriever, Uncle Paul has Milly a lab cross, then we have 2 lots of spaniels and a beagle. We often have Obi come to stay and he is a labradoodle . We do have Bluey our cat, she usually goes upstairs when dogs are here. We have a big open area downstairs but prefer to not have dogs upstairs.
“Ted has just come back from staying with Lisa, he had a great time. Lisa sent lots of photos and videos of Ted which was very reassuring, it looked like he was having a ball. Thank you Lisa and we will definitely ask her to have him next time we are away.”

About: Having grown up with many pets including dogs, cats, birds, fish etc. I have lots of experience caring for them and their individual needs. After moving to London I have really missed being around animals, as I am unable to care for one full time, I am looking to spend some quality time with your animals on the weekends. I am currently working full time on weekdays, occasionally remote, so I will mainly be available for weekend pet care with some exceptions. I am a very active individual so am happy to take your pets on long outdoor walks and to nearby parks etc. I live in a 550sqft pet friendly apartment with lots of outdoor space and grass areas nearby to go on walks. “We couldn’t have been happier with the care our dog received! Lacey looked after Harley as if he were her own—plenty of walks, cuddles, and updates that gave us total peace of mind while we were away. It was clear from the start that she truly loves dogs and knows how to make them feel safe and happy. We came home to a very content pup and would absolutely recommend Lacey to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive dog sitter.”

This was the first time we have left our lovely girls for 2 weeks. Lacey was amazing with them, she kept me updated and sent pictures of the girls, excellent communication. The girls felt very much at home with Lacey. Highly recommend her and will be using Lacey in the future.

Smokey had a wonderful time with Sarah. The premises and care are amazing and he was taken in as one of the family. Her dogs are lovely and he meets and plays with them with great pleasure. This seems a great place for any dog but I would say it is particularly suitable if you have a high energy dog which thrives on exercise and personal attention. Thanks Sarah!

Sophie was amazing looking after our 7 months on Labrador for 2 nights. Rusti had such an amazing time with Sophie and we Absolutly loved seeing all the photos. We had absolute confidence in Rusti’s happiness and welfare and were able to enjoy our holiday knowing she was having such a great time. Rusti can’t wait to stay again and have some more walks with all the new friends she made!

Jenna and Lucas were fantastic, Arnie is an anxious, excitable pup who needs a moment to calm down — it is clear that they took the time to get to know him. We got updates and photos of Arnie sleeping in their bed and ”helping” out with work. This was the first time Arnie stayed away from home and it went really well thanks to Jenna and Lucas. He came home happy and well cared for. Highly recommend and will book again!

Melanie is absolutely wonderful. She kindly looked after our dog Hattie once again for us. Even though, she was faced with a difficult situation at home with a major water leak. Hattie always loves staying with her and the family. Which as a dog owner, gives us complete peace of mind. Communication is faultless. Will be booking again soon!

Thornton was well cared for and liked his time with Adam and family. He was walked lots and came home very happy after his stay. Adam took the time to ask lots of questions about our dog which gave us great confidence in his care. Nice photos also sent during his stay. We have already booked his next stay there.

Jacqui could not have ben a better host for our house and German Shepard (Koba). The house was left in an immaculate state when we came back. I think Koba still misses her and her dog now. Could not recommend her more highly. Will be using her again hopefully in February half term.
We left our two Bernedoodles with Nikk for two days and when we picked them up they were very excited to see us. Nikk received a lot of wonderful reviews so I was feeling very relaxed leaving them with him but felt nervous dropping them off as Nikk was very reserved and it would have been nice if he was more reassuring that they were in great hands during drop off. During their stay I was a little disappointed that I had to keep checking in and asking for pictures and videos of what they had been up to. When he would send a picture it was only a closeup of each dog so I couldn’t actually tell their surroundings and never received a video. Think I only received a total of 3 pics in the time they were away. Nikk had explained to us that he wouldn’t be at his usual location bc he had to work somewhere else but I trusted it would be fine as he said he would absolutely still be able to spend time with them, take them on walks and that there was a spacious back garden for them to play in. Which again it would have been nice to receive pictures of. We were unfortunately late for the scheduled drop off bc of traffic and asked for a later pickup time so hopefully that didn’t effect the lack of communication we had. We returned to happy pups that couldn’t wait to jump in the car and be back with us, so I was grateful for that.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
