“There are many people offering boarding ! However Emma and her partner go to the next level . Genuinely they loved having Gina ,Gina had the most amazing time with there beautiful dog Chaos and there lovely Bengal cat Kovu , Gina was never socialised with cats however it went so well .The space there dedication to providing a caring loveing fun environment in my opinion could not be surpassed Mel and Julian Truly 5 star experience”

“I highly recommend Alexandra, my dog was in very good hands and enjoyed her stay. Alexandra kept me updated through the weekend which was reassuring. I will definitely be using Alexandra again.”

“We met with Sarah and her family a week before the stay. Sarah showed us around the house and Phoebe had an opportunity to explore the new place. She loved it. We were anxiuos about leaving Phoebe over night and dropping her off was hard. But Sarah was absolutely amazing and Phoebe had the best time with her new friends. We were kept updated with messages, pictures and films throughout her stay. She came home happy and is now looking forward to staying with Sarah again. And we are not nervous anymore. We know she will be in good hands. Thank you so much Sarah!”

“Mark and the family were friendly from the first meeting. They love dogs and looked after Saffy as if she was their own. Could not recommend Mark highly enough. A very loving home for your dog.”

“Sarah has been amazing looking after our eight month old puppy, Not everyone would take on a puppy who comes with all their energy and boundary testing. We were kept informed about his antics and we were able to all meet before his stay. I would recommend Sarah to look after your pet.”

“We couldn’t have been happier with the care our dog received! Lacey looked after Harley as if he were her own—plenty of walks, cuddles, and updates that gave us total peace of mind while we were away. It was clear from the start that she truly loves dogs and knows how to make them feel safe and happy. We came home to a very content pup and would absolutely recommend Lacey to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive dog sitter.”

“Tansy took such good care of Rhett! He's a rescue dog who struggles with other dogs and meeting new people, but she was so patient with him from the very first time we met, and when I got him back I could see he had had the best of care. I wouldn’t hesitate to book boarding with Tansy again!”

“Shirley and Chris took care of Loki for a couple of weeks, the longest I have been away from him. She spent time for a meet and greet to meet Loki and understand his routine. I was kept fully updated, with pictures. I would happily rebook her for a safe and enjoyable stay for my boy. Thanks a ton Shirley.”

“Our 2 year old lab came home from Charlotte’s exhausted but very happy. We saw daily photos of him out and about with Charlotte’s family and their dogs. We were very happy that he was well cared for and would book with Charlotte again if needed in the future!”

“Abby and her family have been looking after Georgie for us, we have had regular updates photos and videos which has been amazing because we miss our little boy and we know he has been so well looked after and spoilt which is such peace of mind for us. We would definitely use Abby again so glad we used Rover and found such a lovely family to look after Georgie and hopefully they would have him again. Thank you so much we are so over the moon.”
“Phoebe and her family are absolute angels! They took care of my rescue dog, Dió, for 10 days while we were away on holiday, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everything went perfectly from start to finish. Because Dió is a rescue, I am always a bit anxious about leaving her, but Phoebe completely put my mind at ease. She and her family are incredibly sweet, kind, and welcoming. They showered Dió with so much love and affection that I think she actually missed them when she came home! She had the best time running around and playing in their wonderful garden. It is such a relief to find someone you can trust 100% with your fur baby. Phoebe and her family treated Dió like a member of their own family. I highly, highly recommend them to anyone looking for a loving, responsible, and top-notch pet sitter. Thank you all so much for taking such amazing care of our girl!”

“Lindsey was great, Cooper had such a fun evening. He was taken for lovely walks and didn't want to leave! Lindsey was great with communication and also popped round with her dog to meet Cooper before the booking. Would definitely recommend and look forward to using her again in the future.”

About: I have had 3 dogs of my own more have regularly looked after 3 others while owners have been on holidays. To me they are family and are treated as such. Your pets will be loved by me and will have full access of the house and garden. I owned 2 staffies and a Spanish mastiff. I regularly look after a frenchie a spaniel and 3 greyhounds. I am retired so I can give your pet as much attention as is required. I prefer animals that can be left a few hours so I can still get out for shopping etc. But I could accommodate more needy ones for short periods of time. I have a small fenced garden and no other animals to disturb your cat. Happy to stay or drop in at your house if its local to me also.
“Paris took very good care of our anxious 9 month old puppy. It was a four day stay during a heatwave and she kept him safe and occupied with e.g. fetch in her dog pool. We got daily updates on how/what he was doing and he seemed very happy and content. I would absolutely recommend Paris.”

About: Growing up with a golden retriever gave me a lifelong love of dogs that has never left me. I also have my own two year old miniature poodle at home and she is honestly my whole world. I FaceTime my mum all the time just so she can show me her. That is how much I love dogs. As a university student I have a really flexible schedule and I am more than happy to work around yours, whether you need a regular dog walker or someone to pet sit every now and then. I used to walk my neighbours’ dogs all the time and loved every second of it. Being away at university means I miss my girl every single day, and that is exactly what inspired me to sign up. I get to do something I genuinely love while making sure your dog gets all the walks, attention and cuddles they deserve. Your dog will be in the happiest hands, I promise you that! Being a university student actually makes me one of the most flexible sitters you will find! Most of my days are completely free, with only the odd hour or two of lectures dotted throughout the week. This means I can easily fit walks and pet sitting around whatever schedule works best for you, whether that is early mornings, afternoons or evenings. I am also a driver, so if you are ever unable to drop your dog off or need them picked up, I am more than happy to come to you. Honestly, spending time with dogs is not a chore for me at all. It is genuinely the best part of my day! When caring for pets in my home, I make sure they are fed, walked, given plenty of treats and kept entertained. I love trying to teach dogs new tricks too, it is such a fun way to keep them stimulated and happy. In terms of trust, I think my own dog speaks for herself! I have a two year old miniature poodle who is, to put it kindly, an absolute handful with zero recall. Yet I have never once lost her. If I can handle her, I can handle anything. You can feel completely confident leaving your dog in my care!
“Thornton was well cared for and liked his time with Adam and family. He was walked lots and came home very happy after his stay. Adam took the time to ask lots of questions about our dog which gave us great confidence in his care. Nice photos also sent during his stay. We have already booked his next stay there.”

“Hunter had a great time making a new friend and took full advantage of the safe outdoor space to play in! He was cared for perfectly and we were given plenty of updates to see just how much fun he was having without us! 😅 Hunter can't wait for his next holiday with Bruce and family!”

About: I'm a mum of 2 older children that are both at school, my husband is Chris, who works from home. Im currently doing a flexible online course so am home most of the day. I live in Brockham which is surrounded by paths and fields. I love the outdoors and try and go for walks everyday. I'm easy going and very flexible, I have a car so travelling is not a problem. I drop my children off around 8:30 and then collect them at 3. In between those times I'm very flexible with walks and slotting it around my studies and children. We have a fenced garden and are both home all day, our children are generally at home from about 4. Both of them are very used to dogs as all our extended family have dogs, Grandma has Izzy a golden retriever, Uncle Paul has Milly a lab cross, then we have 2 lots of spaniels and a beagle. We often have Obi come to stay and he is a labradoodle . We do have Bluey our cat, she usually goes upstairs when dogs are here. We have a big open area downstairs but prefer to not have dogs upstairs.
“We have been going to Amanda since George was a puppy. He’s now 6 years old, and we wouldn’t take him anywhere else. He loves going. He is so well Looked after, fabulous walks, lots of cuddles and made to feel part of her family. We always get lots of updates and we love the photos and videos on George having fun. Thanks Amanda xx”

Lacey is the best. She looks after Lola as if she were her own. I know Lola loves going to stay there and always has a lovely time. By taking care of Lola so well, Lacey is also taking care of me, as I know I don't need to worry. I couldn't recommend Lacey enough for anyone in the area! Thank you Lacey.
Sophie was amazing looking after our 7 months on Labrador for 2 nights. Rusti had such an amazing time with Sophie and we Absolutly loved seeing all the photos. We had absolute confidence in Rusti’s happiness and welfare and were able to enjoy our holiday knowing she was having such a great time. Rusti can’t wait to stay again and have some more walks with all the new friends she made!

Jenna and Lucas were fantastic, Arnie is an anxious, excitable pup who needs a moment to calm down — it is clear that they took the time to get to know him. We got updates and photos of Arnie sleeping in their bed and ”helping” out with work. This was the first time Arnie stayed away from home and it went really well thanks to Jenna and Lucas. He came home happy and well cared for. Highly recommend and will book again!

Another really beautiful day for Maya in Sarah’s care. The overnight stay went seamlessly, and I had absolutely no worries at all. I always feel completely at ease leaving Maya with Sarah — she’s truly wonderful and makes her feel like part of the family. Couldn’t recommend her more highly! 🐾

Very grateful to Lindsey for boarding my dog, Max, at short notice. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. After a quick meetup to ensure Max and Wilf (Lindsey's dog) got along ok, the booking was confirmed. From our initial meeting, it was clear he was in a caring, homely environment where his comfort truly mattered. Lindsey went above and beyond, not only giving Max plenty of attention and reassurance but also managing his medical needs. I received updates and pictures throughout his stay, which gave me complete peace of mind. Max came home happy, and clearly very well looked after. I’m incredibly grateful for the level of care provided and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Highly recommended.

Melanie is absolutely wonderful. She kindly looked after our dog Hattie once again for us. Even though, she was faced with a difficult situation at home with a major water leak. Hattie always loves staying with her and the family. Which as a dog owner, gives us complete peace of mind. Communication is faultless. Will be booking again soon!

Thornton was well cared for and liked his time with Adam and family. He was walked lots and came home very happy after his stay. Adam took the time to ask lots of questions about our dog which gave us great confidence in his care. Nice photos also sent during his stay. We have already booked his next stay there.

Jacqui could not have ben a better host for our house and German Shepard (Koba). The house was left in an immaculate state when we came back. I think Koba still misses her and her dog now. Could not recommend her more highly. Will be using her again hopefully in February half term.
We left our two Bernedoodles with Nikk for two days and when we picked them up they were very excited to see us. Nikk received a lot of wonderful reviews so I was feeling very relaxed leaving them with him but felt nervous dropping them off as Nikk was very reserved and it would have been nice if he was more reassuring that they were in great hands during drop off. During their stay I was a little disappointed that I had to keep checking in and asking for pictures and videos of what they had been up to. When he would send a picture it was only a closeup of each dog so I couldn’t actually tell their surroundings and never received a video. Think I only received a total of 3 pics in the time they were away. Nikk had explained to us that he wouldn’t be at his usual location bc he had to work somewhere else but I trusted it would be fine as he said he would absolutely still be able to spend time with them, take them on walks and that there was a spacious back garden for them to play in. Which again it would have been nice to receive pictures of. We were unfortunately late for the scheduled drop off bc of traffic and asked for a later pickup time so hopefully that didn’t effect the lack of communication we had. We returned to happy pups that couldn’t wait to jump in the car and be back with us, so I was grateful for that.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
