“Abby and her family have been looking after Georgie for us, we have had regular updates photos and videos which has been amazing because we miss our little boy and we know he has been so well looked after and spoilt which is such peace of mind for us. We would definitely use Abby again so glad we used Rover and found such a lovely family to look after Georgie and hopefully they would have him again. Thank you so much we are so over the moon.”

Definitely recommend, I’ll be booking again!”

“Brilliant little family who took such good care of our little one. My three year old poodle was genuinely excited to see them when I was dropping him off for the second time! That’s never happened before. I got regular updates so I didn’t need to worry at all. My dog came home smelling fresh and very happy from all the wonderful fun and exciting walks! A very sweet and animal loving family who took care of him like he was their own - what more could I ask for ❤️”

“My golden retriever stayed with Ruta for 9 days and we were extremely impressed with the way he was looked after. Right from the meetup, we were extremely confident that she was on top of things. She listened to all of our concerns and requests regarding our dog. She sent daily updates and pictures throughout the stay. We had some concerns regarding our dogs recall and his tendency to swallow dangerous objects. However, she took the necessary precautions and kept him safe at all times. We are extremely happy and will be using her in the future.”

“Melissa and Troy were first class sitters. From the first moment we met Melissa during the “meet and greet” session there was clear chemistry between us and especially with Louis. He was extremely well cared for and felt totally at home during his stay. I would have no hesitation in booking with Melissa again . Top marks and thank you so much .”

“We had our little puppy with Angela for couple of days and I can say that she has looked and care for our dog with a lot of love and care and kept the communication constant which we have loved as it was reassurance for us and I genuinely can say Angel has a good heart and definitely will be using her again. Thank you Angela”

“Lauren watched Teddy for us for 10 days recently, and I had a great experience with her from the first meeting until she dropped him off. While Teddy was with her, Lauren kept us totally updated and even took him on a beach vacation. I saw pictures and videos of Teddy looking super happy, and that really put my mind at ease. I'd definitely trust Lauren with Teddy again. Thanks, Lauren.”

About: I’m qualified in Dog First Aid and have completed a 2-day IMDT dog trainer course, giving me a good foundation in dog behaviour, communication and positive training. I’m also a genuine dog lover and experienced dog owner who understands that every dog is different. Living with an energetic Border Collie has given me plenty of hands-on experience with recall, focus, enrichment, safe exploring and understanding dog body language. I’m patient, attentive and always happy to adapt to each dog’s individual routine and personality. Whether your dog loves long walks and adventures or prefers a quiet cuddle at home, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable and cared for. I work on a hybrid basis, so I have plenty of flexibility to spend time with your dog throughout the day. I’m available for boarding and daycare, with 3-4 walks a day, play and companionship. I can also accommodate regular routines and individual needs. I live together with my partner in a house with a secure, fenced garden, providing a safe space for dogs to relax and play. I also have a very friendly and submissive Border Collie who enjoys having other dogs around. I’m happy to have a meet and greet as to introduce dogs gradually and carefully, and can provide separate spaces when needed.

“I can’t recommend Charlie enough! He was so accommodating and provided regular updates of Kuma which put my mind at ease. He made the whole process stress free especially since I contacted him so last minute! I can say with no doubt that Kuma was well looked after and happy staying with Charlie.”

About: I have always been a lover of dogs, as a child, I grew up with 3 Labradors and always played with them. Although, I haven't had a dog for some years, I have had rabbits (Scooter and Wizard) and even a parrot (Chopstix, who stays with my parents). I always take the opportunity to see my friends' dogs and play with them like a child the park no matter the weather. I am so eager that my friends have asked me to walk their dogs when they have other commitments, knowing that I will not refuse unless I have to. Lucia was absolutely incredible looking after my dog, Pluto, for a week! I couldn't be happier with her service. She kept me updated every single day with lovely messages and photos of his activities, which completely put my mind at ease. Pluto came home so happy and content. I highly recommend Lucia to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

My two dogs love Claudia! Right from the first meeting she quickly found their favourite spots for a rub and stroke. She had treats and toys for them. Whilst we were away she sent us regular updates and photos. When our flights were delayed she was very understanding and accommodating which eased a little of our stress. I would absolutely leave my dogs with her again and thoroughly recommend her. She was brilliant! Thank you Claudia!

It was a pleasure having Lisa and her family look after our dog, Yola. Lisa was happy to accommodate all our requests and for the entire time of our holiday we were provided with regular updates. From start to finish Lisa gave us peace of mind that our dog was being carefully looked after. We would happily use Lisa again and also recommend her to anybody looking for an attentive and caring dog sitter.
Mel and her husband are outstanding pet sitters. They took such wonderful care of Ash, he had the best time, lots of updates and photos. Spoilt with cuddles and nice walks. Ash has gained two new best friends. Lovely to have found a home from home environment for him, feel very relaxed knowing he is in the care of these two dedicated dog lovers. Thank you so much 🤩

Fernando stayed with Vicky just one 1 day and a half, and that doesn't give me enough insight to write a detailed review. However, I know that Fernando was very happy with Vicky because when her kids were saying bye, he didn't wanted to leave and that deserves 5 starts. Thanks Vicky for your service I will definitely use it again

Georgina was lovely and very reassuring from the beginning. The house has a big garden with plenty of space for dogs to roam around and Nala came back absolutely exhausted, having had a lovely time. We wouldn't hesitate to leave Nala with Georgina again in the future! Thanks for having her 🙂

Iyiola and Monika were great with our doggy! They were very understanding with our dogs little habits and needs. We were grateful that they went over and beyond buying him extra treats and making sure he was comfortable especially since it was his first time boarding. We would recommend them without a doubt!

10/10 service. Olatz & Siobhan are amazing. They looked after our American Staffy whilst we were on holiday. Brilliant from beginning to end. Had a couple of meet up prior to boarding, so our Maverick got familiar with whom he’d be looked after by. Great communication from both, daily updates, photos/videos. Our boy was very well looked after, pampered and returned to a happy dog. Will definitely be asking Olatz & Siobhan to look after our dog for all our future holidays. We can’t thank you enough. 👌🏻💙🐾🐶

I really recommend Natalie. She looked after my dog for a week with very short notice. She was so lovely when I met her, and she gave me regular updates on how it was going. She made me feel very reassured that my dog was being well looked after. My dog liked her so much that she didn't want to leave her! Thank you, Natalie x

Natasha and Lui took great care of my dog Benji over the 5 nights that he boarded with them. Benji has boarded with them on three occasions and genuinely enjoys it. He gets very excited when he sees Natasha and Lui and I can tell how warm and gentle they are with him. I would definitely use their services again in the future and would highly recommend them. Finally, Thank you for making Benji’s stay enjoyable!!

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
