“Richard came and looked after my dogs for a week over the Christmas period. He did a 5 ⭐️ job of looking after my 2 dogs. I really can’t rate him highly enough. He sent regular updates which was fab to receive while I was away and I felt that my dogs were well cared for at all times. He left our house so tidy, it was a pleasure to come back to. A huge thank you to Richard for doing a first class job.”

“Mei was wonderful - just absolutely 10/10. My little dog can be quite nervous, especially with new people but Mei was so calm and kind, entirely putting her at ease. She was professional and asked all the right questions in advance. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.”

“Thomas took wonderful care of our dog, Luka. He kept us regularly updated with messages and photos, which really put our minds at ease and allowed us to fully enjoy our holiday. It was clear that Luka was in very good hands. If we have the opportunity in the future, we would absolutely love to ask Thomas to look after Luka again. Highly recommended.”

“Rachel house sat our dog and 2 cats on a weekend. She kept us up to date on how their day was going and sent some lovely photos. Also looked after our house well. Thanks for your help Rachel”

About: We’re Jay and Si, just two dog people without a dog of our own! We really miss having one around and would love to share our time (and sofa) with yours. We’re super easygoing and reliable, and will treat your pets like part of the family with lots of love and cuddles. We usually work from home three days a week. Jay on Fridays, and Si is flexible. Weekends are usually pretty relaxed too, unless we’re travelling. But we’ll always do our best to help out if we can. Your dog will get lots of attention and affection from us. We’ve got a few big parks close by, so it’s really easy to keep active. We’ve both grown up around dogs, so we know the drill keeping them safe, happy, and cared for.

About: Hello! I’m Anna a lifelong cat lover with over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for my own boy, Prince, who I adored for over a decade. I understand cats deeply, their personalities, their moods, their routines, and their boundaries. I’m gentle, patient, and very tuned in to how animals feel. I’ve looked after anxious cats, affectionate cats, playful cats, and older cats who needed extra comfort. Because I recently lost my own cat, I have a huge soft spot for making other people’s pets feel loved, safe, and calm while their owners are away. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every cat as if they were my own.
About: Since very young age I demonstrated loving pets and enjoying being around them. In my childhood I had a lovely poodle, and we have happy moments until she was 13 years. I am currently working part time, so most of the time I am doing housework or exercise/ external activities, so why not do this while taking care of pets (what I love) and having some company? :) I am always checking what the pet is doing and his safety, I know this is very important. Also I will be doing the best for his comfort and being respectful with their limits.
About: In my family home we’ve had over 8 dogs - currently 5 as you can see in my picture! That means I have heaps of experience when it comes to looking after breeds of all different personalities, shapes and sizes. Now I’ve left home to live in London, I take whatever opportunities I can to look after my friends pets while they’re away and feel they have always been very happy with the job I’ve done I currently work from home 3 days a week. And I go into the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, leaving me free from Thursday to Monday In general, I’m a very reliable, trustworthy and friendly person. Having grown up around dogs and just being a genuine animal lover, I understand how important they are to people and their families. I would never do anything to put your dogs safety in jeopardy and my experience looking after dogs also means that I am aware of potential risks, something which unfortunately many are not aware of. Not only will your dog be kept safe but it will be loved and made as comfortable as possible at home in my spacious 2 bed flat, where they will also have the use of a garden (this is currently not fully fenced so this will be via the use of a lead). We also have nice parks nearby which we will be sure to use for walking as to your dog’s delight I am also an avid step-counter!

“Ashley stayed overnight in our place for 2 weeks to look after our kitten whilst we were on holiday. You can tell she really loves cats and is used to them and she took great care of our kitten, and also left our place really clean! Thank you so much Ashley 😊”

About: I worked at a doggy daycare for 2 years, as a van driver, carer and also dog boarding. Myself and my mum have dog boarded for over 13 years. I have been doing self employed doggy walks/boarding for 5 years now looking after many different breeds and some still come to me from the daycare I used to work. I work from home with my full time job 3 days of the week. Living with my family. I currently work full time. However, I work from home 3 days a week. Working from home means I can be at home with them. I'm in the office Wednesdays and Thursdays, but I am home latest 4:30 to then be with them in the evenings. I have a fenced garden. I have a porch door so no one can run out the front door. The garden is quite big and enough space for them to run around. I also have a park over the road if they are not good in cars.

“Kiah and Ed have been completely wonderful! They have gone above and beyond for us and our fur babies and we are so grateful! We had loads of pictures and felt so reassured the whole time. I’m pretty sure our cats prefer them to us now! Couldn’t recommend them more!”

“Iwona was very kind and friendly and our dogs loved her staying with them. We got plenty of updates while we were away which we appreciated. She was very thorough with our instructions and followed them precisely. Able to give one of our dogs her medicine each day as well. Overall, would recommend Iwona for any dog walking or pet sitting.”
“What a great find Conner was! Booked rather last minute, Conner was able to dog sit for our puppy Maggie, who he was brilliant with. He arrived on time, totally understood the needs of a puppy and was really accommodating when we were delayed and back later than planned. I cannot fault Conner as a dog sitter, plus he's clearly a lovely guy! I hope he will be able to look after Maggie again in the future.”

Ashleigh was amazing with our 3 pets, 1 Maltese and 2 cats - they were smitten with her from the start and had the best time. Ashleigh kept in contact and sent us pictures and even went out of her way to change the bedding for us for when we returned from our holiday, making us have to worry about 1 less thing. Would definitely recommend Ashleigh 😁

Iwona looked after my dog Stella for 8 days and I could not have had a better experience. My dog has some serious health issues and so I'm very careful who I leave her with. With Iwona, I quickly had absolute peace of mind and could relax without worrying whilst away. Iwona is on the one hand, warm, friendly with a seemingly natural affinity with dogs and yet equally and crucially, showed the utmost professionalism, responsibility, judgment and more. I was away whilst a heatwave was in place and Iwona made adjustments to my dog's schedule in order to allow for this all the while, keeping me informed and working with my dog's schedule/needs. Iwona is an excellent communicator and we had daily checks ins and photos/videos which is of course so nice to receive whilst far away from home. Iwona was very comfortable receiving notes as they relate to my dog. Indeed, she placed great importance on understanding my dog's needs, routine, habits, preferences. My dog is clearly very happy and settled in Iwona's care. I am so pleased to have found Iwona and would wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter/carer for their much-loved pet. Thank you Iwona!

I could not recommend Sara more! She was absolutely incredible with Zedley, sent daily updates and looked after him as if he was her own. We were away for over 10 days and I felt completely relaxed and at ease knowing he was so well looked after. There is no doubt in my mind that Zedley misses her now. Thank you for being so amazing Sara

Mel was an amazing dog sitter in our home during our week away. We felt so reassured knowing our 7 month old pup Cali was so content and well looked after by her. Mel sent regular updates that allowed us to see how happy Cali was and meant we could relax whilst away. Mel looked after our home so well and did everything we needed. Would highly recommend Mel as a kind, capable dog sitter.

Stef was exceptional. She was friendly and attentive and Mavis has certainly made a friend! Stef was friendly, easy to deal with and made the whole experience feel wholesome. We will definitely have Stef back again and I would happily recommend her to anyone in need of a sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Sutton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sutton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
