“Gigi loved staying with Melek. Usually she would be restless and anxious when we leave but with Melek, I saw that she was quite comfortable. When you have a pet with separation anxiety you either feel guilty or share the anxiety when you need to leave them. Frequent videos and pictures of Gigi being calm and cool were really helpful in putting my mind at ease. Would totally recommend Melek, she is kind, thoughtful, attentive and very loving.”

“Thank you so much Sarah. Absolutely brilliant sitter for our little puppy. We will definitely reach out to you again. And thank you for your very fast and efficient replies to messages. You are a star… 5 star to be exact ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Anya took great care of my girls ( dogs) whilst we had a long weekend away. Girls were well cared for, lots of cuddles and walks and were very relaxed when we got home. The girls are always happy to see Anya and we went away knowing they were in good hands 🙏🐾🐾”

“Chrystina got on with our puppy really well and he enjoyed hanging out with her. She followed our instructions around what to do with him and we felt comfortable having her in our house when we weren’t there. Have already booked her again!”

About: Growing up I always have had dogs in the house, and my partner and I are so excited for the day when we can have one of our own. With a background in dog training, which, when younger, took me to Crufts to compete at the YKC Heelwork To Music competition, I'm great with dogs and can tailor my service based on their (and your) needs. I also used to volunteer once a week at a dog groomers as a teenager because hanging out with the dogs was so fun. New to the platform, new to the area, but definitely not new to dogs. I have recently moved to London with my partner and am currently at home full time. I am available to walk your dog (basically whenever you need me to). I often go for a run first thing in the morning and would be happy to bring your pooch if you wanted them to burn off some energy with me, or I am available throughout the day to come and walk them. I am a 15 minute walk from Richmond park, so I can take your pup on walk that suits their needs. Need 10 minutes? Easy. Needs an hour or more? Also easy.
About: Hello! I’m an actor and freelance creative with a passion for animals, and would love the opportunity to bring both you and your doggo some daily joy!🤗🐶 I’ve previously worked for brands such as Butternut Box where I’ve spent time with a variety of dogs and their parents, and I know that like us, every dog is unique and so is the care and attention they deserve! I have some puppy experience, having been an active part of my family dog’s puppy training, and in more recent years have had experience single handedly looking after multiple family dogs. I’m currently working from home so don’t have any particular restrictions on my availability at the moment, although this is subject to change. However as a freelancer I can be flexible to fit around your schedule if needed!! I live in a flat just across the road from a lovely park, very popular with dog walkers, as well as being a short distance from riverside walking paths. I have a car and happy to drive if needed.

About: I have lived with dogs and cats and the occasional hamster my whole life and adore them. I have looked after people’s pets many times throughout Covid but had to stop for a couple of years due to some work commitments. However, my availability has opened up and am very eager to get back to helping out. I am a 29 year old Pilates instructor in Richmond and Barnes. I have a flexible schedule, especially during the daytime and am excited to look after your cat or dog! I am a Pilates instructor, therefore I mostly work early mornings and have the rest of the day free. The only day I work from morning to evening, are Tuesdays. I live in the heart of Richmond and love to make use of all the green spaces. I am incredibly reliable and trusting. I work and live in and around Richmond, and have a great relationship with all my clients in the community. It is very important to me, that I uphold that reputation as a pet sitter.
“Natasha was wonderful with Lumière and he was extremely comfortable with him. She has done a fantastic job and instantly took away his separation anxiety. Natasha is a lovely and amenable person, very friendly and well mannered. We will love to have her back, and Lumière too 🐶”

“Kiera was brilliant with Riley. I contacted her at short notice and luckily for me she was available. She arrived on time and they spent over 7 hrs. together. Riley was very happy to spend time with Kiera and I would be delighted if she agreed to come and look after him again.”

About: Hi there! I’m Emma, a passionate and dedicated dog owner/walker with 10+ years of experience in pet care. I’m currently looking to fill the big dog shaped hole in my life that appeared since I moved to London away from my three family dogs back home. From manic spaniels to slipper-sitting terriers, I love all dog breeds (and cats too!). I understand that your furry friends are part of your family (much like mine), and I strive to provide the best possible care and companionship for them whilst you're away I currently work full time in central London. My hours are 9.30 to 5.30ish but I do work from home twice a week and will be available to walk at lunch. Weekends are my prime walking/sitting time aside from weekday evenings. I live in a one bedroomed flat with ample room for tug of war, cuddles and snooze time. Dogs/cats always welcome and are free to explore everywhere. I’m also very communicative so happy to send you pictures throughout the day of your pet. I also live 1km from Richmond park so there is ample space for a run around in the woodlands.
“Clarence was amazing with our dog Auggie. He was very responsive, asked a lot of questions to make sure he was taking care of her as best he could, and I think she really enjoyed her time with him!”

“Susi is a literal dream! She was responsive, available in a pinch, was so communicative whilst we were away (and even sent puppy portraits of our happy for), and we were so at peace that our dog was well cared for. Can’t recommend enough - she has a warm and caring soul and you can feel her love for animals shine through to her core. Thanks, Susi!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals for most of my life, and caring for pets has always felt natural to me. Growing up, our family home was full of life with dogs, and that experience shaped how comfortable and attentive I am with animals of different personalities. We had two dogs in particular who left a lasting impression on me. My sister had a cocker spaniel who was affectionate and playful, and later during my university years I had a Weimaraner—full of energy and always ready for adventure. He and I quickly bonded over our shared love of morning runs, so I’m especially confident handling active, high-energy dogs who need both physical exercise and mental stimulation. More recently, our family welcomed a cockapoo who still lives with my sister, and I’ve remained closely involved in caring for him whenever I visit. Overall, I’m calm, reliable, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals—whether that’s going for a long walk, keeping them company at home, or making sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. My setup works really well for pet care — I'm based at home the majority of the week, with just one day out that can flex depending on what's needed. That means I'm available for boarding almost any day, weekends included. Plenty of calm company, no rush, no stress. I live in a third floor flat, so no escape risks and a nice calm environment away from the chaos of the street. The building has a fenced garden which is great for a bit of fresh air, and if your pet needs a longer stretch, Richmond Park is just around the corner — hard to beat. No other pets in the flat, so your cat or dog gets the full run of the place and all of our attention. My 10 year old daughter absolutely loves animals, so they'll have a little devoted fan following them around too.
“Ella is a lovely lady, she is experienced, caring and attentive. The girls had a wonderful day! I felt the girls were safe and very well cared for. Messages were always responded to quickly which made arranging everything very easy. I definitely recommend Ella.”

About: I've always had a love for animals and currently have a cat of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I've grown up surrounded by dogs through friends and family, and I've regularly helped by walking and caring for their dogs over the years. I'm an active person who enjoys being outdoors, so whether your dog loves a gentle stroll or a long walk or run, I'm happy to tailor each walk to their energy level and needs. I'm also comfortable caring for cats, making sure they have plenty of attention, playtime, fresh food and water, and lots of affection if they enjoy it. What sets me apart is that I'll care for your pets as if they were my own. I'm reliable, patient, and attentive to each animal's personality and routine. I understand that every pet is different, and I'll take the time to make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. I'm also happy to care for senior pets, following any routines or medication schedules provided, and I'll always keep you updated with photos and messages for peace of mind. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I enjoy being outdoors and staying active, so dog walks are something I genuinely look forward to rather than a chore. I’m able to dedicate time throughout the day for walks, visits, feeding routines, and giving pets the attention and companionship they need. I’m organised and reliable, and I understand the importance of keeping pets to their normal routines while their owners are away. I’m happy to work around each pet’s individual needs, whether that’s an energetic walk, a relaxed stroll, playtime, or simply spending time keeping them company. I understand that welcoming someone into your home or trusting them with your pet is a big responsibility. I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality, routine, and individual needs so they feel comfortable and secure in my care. When caring for pets in their own home, I will always respect your space, follow your instructions carefully, and keep your pet’s normal routine as consistent as possible. I’ll make sure they have fresh food and water, a clean environment, plenty of attention, and lots of reassurance while you’re away. For walks and visits, I prioritise safety by using secure leads or harnesses, being aware of my surroundings, and adapting activities to suit each pet’s age, energy level, and comfort. I’ll always treat your pets with patience, kindness, and the same care I would want for my own cat.
“Excellent service from Jessica just like last time! She is kind and professional. Our Charlie was looked after perfectly, and enjoyed very much his play date with Jessica's dog Luffy! Highly recommended!”

“Pranati was so helpful and corresponded with me often which was really reassuring, she took great care of my dog and he was happy and relaxed when I came home. I already asked if Pranati could dog sit again! Thank you Pranati”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Richmond
If Inge is available, book her straight away! She took exceptional care of both our cat, Mister, and our home. She kept us regularly updated throughout, which gave us great peace of mind. On the last evening, Mister came home with a small injury. Inge contacted us straight away, researched the issue, and took him to our vet the following day. She was incredibly caring, responsible, and attentive throughout. We wouldn’t hesitate to have her look after Mister and our home again!

Chloe Jelena was incredible with my pup. It was our first time using a house sitter instead of boarding, so my pup had to adapt to a new person in her space. Chloe was so patient, kind, and they quickly became buddies. Will book again and would highly recommend

We are so thankful for Yasmin! Our dog loves her and we love the updates of all their adventures when we are away. Yasmin goes above and beyond for both our dog and very mischievous cat. We know they are in safe hands and we are able to go away without any worries or concerns, Yasmin can handle anything that happens!

Harvey is a wonderful dog sitter. He has sat for us on multiple occasions for 2 very different types of dogs (older and more chilled; younger and wilder) and every time I know I can trust him to take excellent care. He is kind, considerate and punctual. He asks the right questions and sends photos while we’re out so we can enjoy ourselves knowing Chloe is having a wonderful time. Thanks Harvey!

Olivia is wonderful, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly. Jackson is always so happy in her care, and we have complete peace of mind knowing he’s in the great hands. The regular photos and updates are so reassuring and make being away from him so much easier. On top of being an incredible dog sitter, Olivia is also the perfect house guest. She leaves everything spotless; it’s almost as if she was never there! We always come home to a happy pup and a beautifully cared-for home. Thank you, Olivia, for taking such amazing care of Jackson. We feel incredibly lucky to have found you.

Kelsey looked after our kitties for a week whilst we were on our honeymoon, she is wonderful with them and we felt very relaxed knowing she was with them and sending us updates on them! Thanks so much Kelsey for looking after them and for sorting the flat out and leaving it so clean! We will definitely be booking for our next holiday!

This is the second time Ryan “RT” has sat for our cats, Eric and Hattie. As with the first time, we found him easy to deal with, kind to the cats, responsible and un phased by recently added medication requirements. He also kindly sent us photos of the cats during the sit. We will definitely be asking Ryan to sit again.

We were really happy with the care our pup received while we were away. Carlotta kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was clear he was well looked after and as comfortable as he could be. Carlotta was reliable, easy to communicate with, and we'd happily book her again. We'd definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy house/dog sitter.

Natasha is simply the best dog/house sitter and I can’t recommend her more highly. She was happy to come and meet our two dogs ahead of her stay and they instantly took to her so I knew we were onto a winner. She provided the best care whilst we were away and sent us the sweetest updates with photos. She is not phased by anything and explaining everything to her was so easy. She is incredibly practically minded and on top of things. We returned to the happiest dogs and cleanest and tidiest of houses. I am so happy and pleased that she has said she’d be happy to come back to us again. We are lucky and anyone booking her will be too!

Gail was wonderful with Stewie. She looked after him for six nights and kept us updated throughout with messages and lovely photos of what he was getting up to. Stewie was very comfortable with Gail and clearly adored her, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. We would highly recommend Gail to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter.
Dom is an excellent dog sitter - he came to meet Lola a few weeks before the sit and she took to him immediately. We knew she was in safe hands and communication was great. We had daily updates and photos and we returned to a very chilled dog and the house was immaculate. We’re already trying to find future dates for Dom to return. Highly recommend.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Richmond walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Richmond choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
