“Great experience! She was super punctual, communicative, asks the right questions and was super understanding about my dog who has separation anxiety. Felt very reassured with her taking care of Bagel for the day. Thanks Vitoria!”

“This was our first time using this app - and leaving our new dog with a sitter. William (Evan) was fantastic. Professional, but lovely person who was incredibly helpful and generous. And the biggest compliment was that he and our dog hit it off immediately!! Which was perfect. Highly recommended.”

“First timers with Rover here and it couldn’t have been a smoother experience than with Matthew. He’s clearly a dog lover, sent frequent photos and updates, and was generally a grade A find … No wonder Matthew has so many positive reviews, we’d 100% use him again!”

“Veronika looked after our two cats while we were away for a week. She cared and loved them as her own. We were nervous to leave during the heatwave but she did great, making sure the cats were as comfortable as they could be. The flat was well taken care of and everything was clean when we got back. Thank you!”

“I used Mark to sit by dog Billy for a week. Mark did a fabulous job looking after Billy. Mark sent me regular videos & pictures an updated me about what Billy had been like & where he had taken Billy pictures showed me Billy was having the time of his life with Mark. Mark went above & beyond my expectations. Will definitely highly recommend Mark he even Strippen the bed & washed them as well as the towels I had left him. She’s so amazing with communication and listens to everything that needs to be done and I totally trust her with my flat and dog. 100% recommend and happy to give a proper reference to anyone needing reassurance that Dolo is the perfect person to hire. So loving and caring, couldn’t be happier”

“Very communicative and took care of our dog for the weekend as she was recovering following a health issue. Very conscious of dog’s health and also is clear he has much experience with dogs.”

“Sofya was wonderful! She was polite and professional and quickly became friends with Alfie. It became clear that she had experience with dogs that needed a bit more of a gentler and patient approach and she was wonderful at catering to Alfie’s needs. We would trust Sofya with Alfie time and time again.”

“Henrique is a great sitter. I left my senior dog Snoop with him at my home, and the care he gave Snoop was exceptional. I received updates through out the weekend and photos, which I found very reassuring. He also watered my plants! I was able to enjoy my weekend away knowing Snoop was being cared for and in safe hands. Thankyou Henrique.”

“Pablo has walked our Daisy several times and now house sit for us too. Daisy likes Pablo very much and she is beautifully cared for by Pablo. Pablo is reliable and friendly. Daisy can't wait to see Pablo again 😍”

About: My passion - and respect - for pets, especially dogs and cats, started very early...actually since i was born i have shared my life with these amazing creatures. This has allowed me to learn more about our friends. I've always considered them as relevant part of my existence and have always been rewarded with the same love. Looking after a pet, going together for long walks, playing games in open doors is one of the most satisfying things in life. Vegetarian, animals lover. I’m currently not working and have plenty of time I can spend looking after pets. So I’m available to cover different owners needs and hours At mine there are several spots that can be dedicated to different pets, depending on the person needs. Water, some treats and walks. When sitting at a pet’s owner I would follow the instructions provided by the owner case by case.
“Wow what a wonderful person Marianne is! My dogs are older and have some quirky ways and I was a little worried but I need not have as the messages and pictures I had sent me while I was away reassured me. Marianne goes above and beyond dog sitting, watering my garden, looking after my tortoise and we came home to a lovely tidy house. The dogs weren’t even that excited to see us so I know they loved her! I will definitely book again. 5 ⭐️”

Isabella is a wonderful sitter. Sully had such a fun time with her. Sully is super energetic as a puppy, and Isabella gave him lots of attention and played with him all day. We also really appreciate how communicative Isabella is, she sent updates and pictures throughout the day. Thank you so much! We will definitely reach out again!

Laura is great! My dog has been going through recovery from major abdominal surgery and Laura was attentive and followed my instructions perfectly! She sent very cute updates on how my boy was doing and always is very responsive via text. Thanks Laura! Kyle and I will see you again soon!

Finley did a great job dog sitting for my Airdale and Irish terriers. He came to the rescue after I put out a last minute request on Rover for help. His communication and responsiveness was fantastic and he was really confident settling in with the dogs. I was able to go off to my son’s graduation totally happy that the dogs were in good care. I’d definitely recommend Fin and be keen to invite him back to look after Forest and Tiger again.

Lisa was really wonderful with my 5 month old australian shepherd Willa, and helped me out with a last-minute booking request. Willa clearly had a great evening with her and slept soundly through the night, and woke up calm and refreshed. Lisa sent plenty of updates and I felt very comfortable knowing Willa was being well cared for.

Blaise looked after our dogs while we had our wedding. We were feeling very stressed trying to find somebody but as soon as we met Blaise we felt very confident. Blaise was amazing with both of our dogs and they had such a great time with her. Our big dog Victor can be a bit grumpy but he also instantly liked blaise which was great. We also got lots of pictures while the dogs were with Blaise which was nice to see. Thank you very much Blaise.
Anna was fantastic with our puppy Fia! We were kept updated with plenty of photos, and can tell Fia had a great time with her. We were very comfortable that Fia kept to her normal routine and Anna clearly made an extra effort to play with her lots and make sure she was happy. I’m sure we will be booking with Anna again.

Kylie stayed at our house and dog sat our two dachshunds for a week when we went on holiday. She was great and the boys seemed to be chilled when we returned. She took amazing care of our house. I would recommend Kylie as trustworthy, with great comms and will take care of your house.

This was the second time Prashasti has looked after our cats, and once again she was absolutely wonderful. It’s such a relief to be able to go away knowing they’re in such kind and caring hands. When we got home, both kitties were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well looked after. Prashasti kept in touch every day with updates and videos, which always made us smile and gave us so much peace of mind. It’s obvious that she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after, and we’re so grateful for everything she did. We wouldn’t hesitate to ask her to cat sit again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely caring pet sitter. Thank you so much, Prashasti!

Aine was really quick to respond to a relatively short notice request. She was really accommodating and even came round to meet Remy ahead of sitting him for the first time. She’s very calm and relaxed, and Remy seemed to take to her straight away. Will definitely be asking her to sit for him again.

Thank you Lucrezia!! It’s clear Lucrezia genuinely cares about caring for other people’s pets, as well as keeping you updated throughout the day. Lucrezia is a great communicator, super friendly and kept our puppy great company while we went to work! Thank you so much!

We love Danny! Danny is a brilliant sitter. Danny goes above and beyond to make sure our puppy feels safe and comfortable while we’re at work. We really appreciate how much Danny keeps us updated throughout the day, it’s clear she genuinely cares and that our puppy loves her company. Thank you so much Danny!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred London walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in London choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
