“Laura was a fantastic cat sitter!! We already booked her again 😂 She sent us pictures everyday and she made it so much easier for us to be on vacation knowing it was her looking after our kitties.”
“Rachel was great at looking after our very energetic puppy whilst we worked from home. Rachel has lots of experience with training and teaching good doggy behaviours, which is definitely a help for us! I would definitely re-book Rachel in the future.”

About: As a master's student at UCL, I recently relocated to London and had to leave my absolute best friend behind in Delhi - my 4-year-old English Cocker Spaniel, Scotch. Dogs truly are a human's best friend, and I miss our daily walks and playtime immensely. Since I can't be with my own pup right now, I want to channel all that love and energy into caring for yours! I understand the immense trust it takes to let someone look after your pet. I am highly reliable, attentive to detail, and will treat your dogs with the exact same love, patience, and enthusiasm I give to Scotch. Whether it's an energetic walk around the Bloomsbury area between my classes or a comforting drop-in visit to break up their day, I'm here to make sure your furry family members are happy, safe, and well-exercised while you are busy Since I am entirely focused on my final master's thesis right now, my schedule is incredibly flexible. I have no fixed lectures to attend, which means I spend most of my days doing desk research. Stepping out to walk your dog or dropping in for a playtime session is actually the perfect study break for me! Because I manage my own hours, I can easily adapt to your preferred schedule, whether you need an early morning stroll, a reliable midday check-in, or an evening walk. Because I am exclusively offering walks and drop-in visits, respecting your home and keeping your pet safe in their own environment is my top priority. On walks, I am highly vigilant of traffic, other animals, and street hazards, ensuring your dog stays securely leashed and comfortable at all times. For drop-ins, I will strictly follow your house rules regarding feeding, restricted areas, and locking up securely before I leave. Having raised my own dog from a puppy, I am very attuned to canine body language and can easily spot if a dog is feeling anxious, tired, or unwell.

I will provide an airtag for the duration of you dogs stay/walk to ensure your dog is kept safe and protected. I have previously owned a dog so i am familiar with their diet lifestyle etc
“Really last minute I had to go to the office for a few hours and had no cover for my tiny 10 week old puppy. I found Fanny on Rover and she came and looked after my puppy brilliantly. He was clearly really comfortable with her when I got home. Highly recommend Fanny!”

“This was our first time using this app - and leaving our new dog with a sitter. William (Evan) was fantastic. Professional, but lovely person who was incredibly helpful and generous. And the biggest compliment was that he and our dog hit it off immediately!! Which was perfect. Highly recommended.”

“Keltie was fantastic with our two dogs! She was warm, friendly, and clearly cared for them so well during the hours she looked after them. We really appreciated the updates, and it was lovely to come home to two happy, relaxed dogs. We'd happily book Keltie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.”

“Ash was so attentive and kind to our doggie, from the minute she walked in the door. They became immediately friends and was playing, sleeping and cuddling the entire time. Can’t recommend Ash high enough and will for sure use her again.”

About: I grew up with cats and have a rescue cat named Billy who needs lots of love and attention! I also help care for my partner’s King Charles Cav (the best boy) incl. walks, play, food and grooming. I’ve dog-sat for friends many times over the last 10+ years caring for a variety of breeds including pugs, sharpei, chow chow, huskies, labs, and Irish setters. I’m not working at the moment and so am available for morning, afternoon and evening walks, as well as home-visits when required. Not available Tuesday 4pm-6pm. As I have my own rescue at home, unfortunately I cannot look after any pets in my own home. I will always prioritise the needs of your pet whilst they are in my care. I will be attentive and responsive to their needs and environment ensuring I always have leads/harnesses/treats/toys/poo bags etc so that I can provide them with the best possible care.
About: As a professional dog walker and pet carer for 3 months in summer 2023, I gained a wealth of experience. From regular puppy visits and dog training for a range of breeds, to cat medication and feeding routines, I feel confident in looking after a variety of pets’ needs. Since moving to London, I miss pet cuddles and attention so would be very excited to help out with your fluffy companion! I currently work 9-5 full time, but am happy to fit in pet care outside of these hours or at weekends. I usually work from home Monday and Friday so would be available before working hours or for caring duties. I am allowed pets in my flat, but I am also happy to visit pet owners’ houses and discuss visiting arrangements that work for both of us the best. I have experience with cat sitting in London including house sitting and cat caring for over several weeks.
“We have just used Hannah for a second time and were delighted once again. She looked after our cat at our home. She sent us lots of pictures and we could rest assured that both our furry friend and our house were fabulously well looked after :)”

“Veronika looked after our two cats while we were away for a week. She cared and loved them as her own. We were nervous to leave during the heatwave but she did great, making sure the cats were as comfortable as they could be. The flat was well taken care of and everything was clean when we got back. Thank you!”

“Dolo was wonderful and I could tell Pluto really liked her. He was happy to see us for about 10 min and then went back to her Haha. She stayed at our place with Pluto and really cared for everything. It was like we never left. She was also sending lots of pictures of Pluto which made it easier for us. Thank you Dolo!”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - London
We honestly couldn’t recommend Noa enough! This was our first time using someone we didn’t know to stay in our home and look after our cats while we were away, so naturally we were a little nervous beforehand. From the moment Noa arrived, she made us feel completely comfortable and relaxed. Throughout the week, we received multiple photos and videos of the cats every day, which we absolutely loved. She also kept us updated with regular check-ins and daily messages about how they were doing, as well as little updates on things she had done around the house. It was so reassuring knowing not only that the cats were happy and well looked after, but that our home was being taken care of too. It was so clear how much the cats loved having Noa there, and she genuinely went above and beyond what we could have expected. We’re so grateful for everything she did and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring and reliable. We will definitely be booking Noa again for all of our future holidays! Thank you so much, Noa 🤍☺️

Hannah was wonderful with our mini dachshund Bruiser! He had been ill for a few days before we left and we were of course worried about leaving him but Hannah couldn’t have been reassuring - she took such amazing care of him and gave us detailed updates which really put us at ease and meant we could relax while away. Bruiser also clearly loved her and was such a happy guy in all of the pics!

Milena was a fabulous sitter for Gingerbread - she was completely understanding that Gingey is a little slower to trust new people and gave her all the patience and care to make sure she was comfortable while we were away. Milan kept us super informed throughout the weekend of how they were getting along and was very clean and respectful of our place while she was staying there - Would highly recommend Milena as your sitter and we hope to have her back to look after GB again in the future!

Lauren’s communication, demeanor, and attitude are amazing. She is so very friendly and lovely to liaise with, which is something I really value in a sitter. Lauren only sat for one night at very short notice, but she was great and I will absolutely be using her again!

Charlotte has looked after Sera on 3 different occasions and I came back to a happy dog and well kept home every time. Sera now gets excited to see Charlotte, which is HUGE for my shy girl 🐾 Charlotte did a great job of sticking to Sera’s routine and giving me regular updates, I would definitely recommend her!

Galina looked after my sausage dog while I was away for over two weeks and I'm really grateful for how caring and attentive she was with him. She kept me well updated. Anton had a little tummy trouble towards the end of my trip and Galina handled it really well - she kept a close eye on him, took him to the vet and stayed in touch with me throughout, which meant a lot when I was so far away. I felt like Anton was in safe hands. Thank you, Galina, for looking after my boy.
Cara was the perfect cat/house sitter! I couldn’t recommend her more. She gave us updates all of the time, and the house was in great condition once I came back. The cats were really well looked after, and they were meowing around the house looking for her once she had gone. Thank you Cara!

Laura was fantastic throughout the stay and I had absolute confidence in how well she looked after our cat and dog. I am slightly concerned that our dog bullied her into playing too much so it may not have been very restful for her. Both animals were extremely happy on our return. Thank you Laura

Alice was the most thoughtful and professional dog, cat and house sitter! She house-sat our pets for 10 days and was loving, responsible, dedicated, and very tidy - she even washed all her linen before we arrived! We received lots of great updates with beautiful pictures, and it was clear that both our dog and cat were very happy with her care and company. In short, I highly recommend Alice!

Lena was amazing with Benni! Benni is quite sensitive and needs a little time to adjust, but Lena gave him the space he needed and he was so relaxed and happy with her. She also sent us regular updates, which gave us such peace of mind. We felt really comfortable leaving Benni with her and would absolutely recommend Lena. We’ll definitely be using her again!

Lisa stayed with my Yorkies for a week and she took great care of my girls and our home. She was friendly, professional and really put in a lot of effort with my 2 dogs - one of which is over 14 and has dementia and the other had an upset stomach for most of her stay. Lisa took it all in her stride and I returned to 2 happy dogs and a clean home. Would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Olivia was fantastic with our senior dog, Sadie. She provided plenty of photo updates throughout the stay, which gave us peace of mind and she left our home spotless. She was also very comfortable administering Sadie’s medication and handled her with care and attention. We would absolutely use Olivia again and would highly recommend her to others.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred London walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in London choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
