“Vitoria was punctual, very friendly and made every effort to make sure that Maisie was at ease and comfortable. We would be very happy to have Vitoria look after Maisie again and would highly recommend”

“Yuzhi was great, good communication and updates with photos. Looks like Bryn and her had fun. We will definitely use Yuzhi’s services again and highly recommend her. She also left a dog toy for Bryn!”

“Evan looked after Piper for about 30 hours for me one weekend when I was unable to use one of my regular sitters. He was very responsive to my enquiry and even made himself available in a very tight window before the sit to meet and greet Piper - which was much appreciated. Piper accepted Evan pretty much straight away (after the baseball cap was removed and a good sniff had been had)! Handover and key collection from a friend went smoothly and everything was calm on my return - as though the dog of my life hadn’t missed me at all! Thanks Evan”

“Sasha took great care of Uni and our flat whilst we were away, sent regular updates and was very attentive to Uni’s needs. Uni adores her and will definitely recommend Sasha to any other pawrents!”

“What a wonderful experience with Matthew, the doggos loved him instantly (which is unusual for one of my dogs who is usually a little standoffish at first ). He was great at comms, planning and then kept me up to date on how the day was going. I highly recommend him and wk definitely to using him again. Thank you Matthew!”

“Sevinj and her husband were wonderful caretakers. They sat for my dog twice, and he was so excited to see them the second day. Sevinj was also responsive to texts and flexible around pickup and drop off. I highly recommend!”

“Filip took great care of Uni and the house - even Uni is a naturally anxious pup he warmed up to Filip quickly and was really comfortable with him. Detailed updates and quick and easy communication. Would definitely recommend him to anyone who’s looking for a dog sitter! I’m sure Uni is already looking forward to his next stay :) thanks Filip.”

“Veronika looked after our two cats while we were away for a week. She cared and loved them as her own. We were nervous to leave during the heatwave but she did great, making sure the cats were as comfortable as they could be. The flat was well taken care of and everything was clean when we got back. Thank you!”

“Dolo was wonderful watching our high energy dog Willow! She was so helpful throughout, gave tons of great updates, and we could tell our dog was really happy to have her! She's also just a great person and lovely to be around. We would highly recommend Dolo!”

“I used Mark to sit by dog Billy for a week. Mark did a fabulous job looking after Billy. Mark sent me regular videos & pictures an updated me about what Billy had been like & where he had taken Billy pictures showed me Billy was having the time of his life with Mark. Mark went above & beyond my expectations. Will definitely highly recommend Mark he even Strippen the bed & washed them as well as the towels I had left him. I could see he has also vacuumed for me which was a great help. Will definitely be using Mark again. Can’t Prause him enough. Thank you Mark.”

“Henrique just looked after our cat 🐈 for two nights. I am a very picky cat owner and only the very best will do for our cat. I can’t say enough positive things about Henrique. He provided lots of pics and videos and checked in to ensure he was doing things in just the right way. He left our home in fantastic condition and our cat seemed really happy when we got back. Highly recommended.”

“Fully recommend Bei. As first time users of Rover.com and engaging a dog and house sitter, we were nervous about leaving our 7 month old puppy. But we need not have worried. Bei really looked after Rocco. She kept us fully updated with photos and videos throughout her time with him. Lovely lady and great dog sitter!”

Charlotte was fantastic with Toshi. She was very responsive from the start and kept us updated throughout, which gave us real peace of mind. She was patient, caring, and made sure Toshi was comfortable and well looked after. We really appreciated all the updates and photos, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about him. We’d happily book with Charlotte again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful dog sitter.

Isabella is a wonderful sitter. Sully had such a fun time with her. Sully is super energetic as a puppy, and Isabella gave him lots of attention and played with him all day. We also really appreciate how communicative Isabella is, she sent updates and pictures throughout the day. Thank you so much! We will definitely reach out again!

Laura is great! My dog has been going through recovery from major abdominal surgery and Laura was attentive and followed my instructions perfectly! She sent very cute updates on how my boy was doing and always is very responsive via text. Thanks Laura! Kyle and I will see you again soon!

Finley did a great job dog sitting for my Airdale and Irish terriers. He came to the rescue after I put out a last minute request on Rover for help. His communication and responsiveness was fantastic and he was really confident settling in with the dogs. I was able to go off to my son’s graduation totally happy that the dogs were in good care. I’d definitely recommend Fin and be keen to invite him back to look after Forest and Tiger again.

Lisa was really wonderful with my 5 month old australian shepherd Willa, and helped me out with a last-minute booking request. Willa clearly had a great evening with her and slept soundly through the night, and woke up calm and refreshed. Lisa sent plenty of updates and I felt very comfortable knowing Willa was being well cared for.

Blaise looked after our dogs while we had our wedding. We were feeling very stressed trying to find somebody but as soon as we met Blaise we felt very confident. Blaise was amazing with both of our dogs and they had such a great time with her. Our big dog Victor can be a bit grumpy but he also instantly liked blaise which was great. We also got lots of pictures while the dogs were with Blaise which was nice to see. Thank you very much Blaise.
Anna was fantastic with our puppy Fia! We were kept updated with plenty of photos, and can tell Fia had a great time with her. We were very comfortable that Fia kept to her normal routine and Anna clearly made an extra effort to play with her lots and make sure she was happy. I’m sure we will be booking with Anna again.

Kylie stayed at our house and dog sat our two dachshunds for a week when we went on holiday. She was great and the boys seemed to be chilled when we returned. She took amazing care of our house. I would recommend Kylie as trustworthy, with great comms and will take care of your house.

This was the second time Prashasti has looked after our cats, and once again she was absolutely wonderful. It’s such a relief to be able to go away knowing they’re in such kind and caring hands. When we got home, both kitties were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well looked after. Prashasti kept in touch every day with updates and videos, which always made us smile and gave us so much peace of mind. It’s obvious that she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after, and we’re so grateful for everything she did. We wouldn’t hesitate to ask her to cat sit again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely caring pet sitter. Thank you so much, Prashasti!

Aine was really quick to respond to a relatively short notice request. She was really accommodating and even came round to meet Remy ahead of sitting him for the first time. She’s very calm and relaxed, and Remy seemed to take to her straight away. Will definitely be asking her to sit for him again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred London walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in London choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
