About: Hi, I’m Martyn — lifelong animal fan, late-bloomer cat dad. Growing up, I couldn’t have pets because of family allergies, but I’m trying to making up for lost time. Since moving to London and finally having my own place with my partner we have been fostering cats through Feline Friends. For the last year and more we have looked after a range of cats — from confident older cats to shy kittens finding their feet. Some standouts: Hector (a proper gentleman), Mouse (not small at all in reality), Archie (big drama queen), and our current duo, Hansel and Gretel — two black kittens who are confidently developing their cuddling skills. Outside of cats, I’m a graphic designer from wales. I have a beautiful 9 year old daughter and currently working for a college in east London so have a current and clean DBS. I’d like to say that I’m reliable, easygoing, and patent so hopefully the perfect cat sitter! About: Always had dogs growing up and had my own dog from 2020, a female Rhodesian Ridgeback called Inka, she's with the ex partner now in Devon. I really didn't want to get a big dog and have it be problematic so I put a lot of research in to training and general dog owner etiquette when we got her and I feel like that experience allowed me to really understand dogs so much better and how to look after them and everyone around them. It has been a very positive first experience with Şansel! I reached out to her ahead of a two and a half week summer holiday. She was very responsive, and kindly came to see us ahead of time so we could introduce her to Camomille and go through her routines. Camo immediately warmed up to her. Karly was a great sitter! One of those people you can just tell loves cats! Our boy is very clingy, but when we came home he barely even glanced at us, which is a sure sign that Karly gave him all the attention and love he needed while we were away (and he needs a lot!). She really went the extra mile with his care and was super helpful with things like bins and mail, asked clarifying questions about his care, sent regular updates and pictures, and left the house exactly as it was when she arrived. We also have catcams and she was very fine with them remaining on the whole time we were away, which I think really says good things about her trustworthiness.
