About: My husband and I both owned dogs back at our home country respectively, and we both missed them very dearly. We had our dogs since they were 2 weeks old, my husband is great at training puppies and I am organized in keeping the hygiene of the pets. I am a stay at home wife, which allows me to have plenty of time to keep the pets well accompanied and taken care of. It's an apartment with just my husband and I, we do not have kids around nor other pets here so the pets will not face any conflicts and have plenty of space.
About: Will care for and love your dog like my own. Have grown up with dogs and cats in the family. Whilst I prepare for a dog of my own, I enjoy walking, training and playing with friends dogs and would love to get to know your dog. I work from home on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays so happy to have a regular canine companion on those days. I may be available on some Tuesdays but couldn’t commit to every Tuesday. I can be available on weekends, day or evening. I live in a flat on the 5th floor with a balcony. Your dog would only be allowed on the balcony under full supervision. Your dog is welcome on my sofa. There is a large park less than a 10 minute walk away. I don’t have any pets so your dog will have my full attention.
“Addison is an incredibly kind, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter. She took wonderful care of my baby, Marley, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, loving person to care for their pets. She truly is amazing.”

About: I bring lifelong experience with dogs and cats, compassionate care from puppies to seniors. You can expect reliability, patience, and genuine love given to your best fur-end. I am currently off sick from work after undergoing cancer treatment. However I am ready to make use of my days and looking after your animal is where I would like to start! Typically, I work a hybrid job working from home 2 days a week. I live in a house with a fenced garden and a cat/dog flap that can be covered if needed. We own plenty of toys from soft bears to squeaky balls to make sure your pet is always occupied.
“This week Josh and Mosco had their first few days together. Mosco seems to have had a great time and was his usual chill, happy self when we got back. Josh was great, kept in touch in the run up and during the sit. Took care of the flat really well and hopefully enjoyed his time with Mosco. We will definitely be asking Josh for his time again.”

About: I've been looking after dogs for friends and family for years, from energetic young ones to slower, older dogs who just want company and a comfortable routine. Senior dogs are where I'm happiest. I've got a lot of patience for the extra care they need, whether that's shorter, gentler walks, keeping an eye on how they're feeling, or just being around so they're never on their own for long. I work from home most of the day, so your dog isn't shut in waiting for me to get back. There's someone here, the routine stays steady, and there's always time for a walk, a play, or a nap on the sofa. I offer boarding at mine, dog walking, drop-in visits and day care, and house sitting in your own home, so we can find whatever suits you and your dog best. I look after other people's dogs the way I'd want mine looked after: carefully, calmly, and with a lot of affection. I work from home, so my day is built around being here rather than rushing out. Mornings usually start with a proper walk before I settle into work, with breaks through the day for play, toilet trips, and a bit of fuss. Lunchtime is another walk, or a longer wander if the weather's good. Evenings are relaxed: dinner on time, a final stroll before bed, and plenty of company on the sofa. I keep to whatever routine your dog already knows, since that's what keeps them settled. If your dog has set feeding times, medication, or a walking schedule, being home all day means I can stick to it. In my home, your dog gets a calm, clean space with room to relax and somewhere comfortable to sleep. I keep doors and gates secure, never let a dog I don't know off-lead until I'm sure they'll come back, and introduce new dogs slowly so nobody feels crowded. In your home, I stick to your house rules, keep things tidy, and send photo updates so you can see your dog is happy while you're away. I'm careful with keys, alarms, and locking up. Either way, I'll always ask about vet details, feeding, allergies, and anything that makes your dog anxious before the first visit, so there are no surprises and your dog feels safe with me from the start.

Kelly was incredibly kind and gentle with Wasabi. Wasabi had a wonderful time with her, and it was clear that Kelly is reliable, caring, and attentive. We felt completely at ease knowing Wasabi was in such good hands. We will definitely be booking with Kelly again!

Nicole - what can we say! ❤️ It was the first time we’d left our little Willow with anyone other than family ever and a big occasion at which we were having to do so (our wedding) You cared for our sweet, old girl (17yrs), kept us updated throughout and completely put our minds at ease - we were feeling pretty stressed about leaving her From the very first communication you were brilliant, so communicative, understanding and you listened to all her quirky old dog needs! You are a wonderful person and we’d have no hesitation to recommend you to everyone! For Willow to be doing her old girl zoomies she must have felt incredibly happy and comfortable with you ❤️ Thank you for everything Nicole J&J x

Addison came to look after our 2 cats and our dog in our home for the evening. She was incredibly affectionate with them all, super friendly and kept us updated throughout the evening with pictures and messages! She even got our very nervous cat to come down for a cuddle and sent a gorgeous report card to summarise their stay which was a lovely touch. Addison clearly has a way with animals and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for some loving care for their pets! :)

Sansel was absolutely excellent. She came to meet with Jerry before her cat sitting to introduce herself and let Jerry get to know her. She sent me lots of updates and pictures during the cat sitting and left our house clean and tidy after she left. Would definitely book again. Thanks so much Sansel!

Susanna is such a great find on rover. She was able to accommodate us last moment and was so understanding of all the requirements of our demanding animals. Returned to a very neat house and happy pets, she also sent us the cutest photo updates. We would book her again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

Khushi looked after our dog for the day and we had a great experience. She was kind, reliable, and clearly very caring with animals. We came back to a very happy and relaxed dog. We felt completely at ease and would happily trust Khushi again in the future. Highly recommended!

Annie has been great looking after Zeus! Communication was great and she made sure she followed Zeus’s routine and sent lots of pictures throughout the day. The communication beforehand was great as well - making sure we felt comfortable before the handover! Would recommend Annie! Thank you!

Karly was a great sitter! One of those people you can just tell loves cats! Our boy is very clingy, but when we came home he barely even glanced at us, which is a sure sign that Karly gave him all the attention and love he needed while we were away (and he needs a lot!). She really went the extra mile with his care and was super helpful with things like bins and mail, asked clarifying questions about his care, sent regular updates and pictures, and left the house exactly as it was when she arrived. We also have catcams and she was very fine with them remaining on the whole time we were away, which I think really says good things about her trustworthiness. Very responsible and trustworthy, I definitely recommend her as your next catsitter!

Faith was a phenomenal sitter for us and took exceptional care of Ophelia. Prior to the booking, Faith took the time to properly understand Ophelia's needs, play style, and overall well-being. Throughout the week, she provided daily updates and even helped Ophelia develop better habits—like sitting patiently while her dinner is prepared—which is something we’ve struggled with in the past. She even taught her new tricks that we are looking forward to practicing! We absolutely loved Faith's care and attention to Ophelia's needs, as well as her understanding of our communication style while we were away. It gave us total peace of mind during our first holiday apart from her. We would absolutely recommend Faith to any pet owners seeking a knowledgeable and caring sitter who treats your pet like their own. Thank you so much, Faith; we came home to a happy, playful cat who truly enjoyed the time she spent with you.

First class service! Alice was incredibly reliable and took excellent care of Wasabi. She arrived on time and looked after him attentively throughout the day. Wasabi was clearly very happy and comfortable in her care. We will definitely be booking Alice again and would highly recommend her to others without hesitation.

Rachel was an absolute gem. This was our first time ever leaving our 18-month-old maltipoo, so we were a little nervous, but she made the whole experience insanely easy. She was responsible, communicative, and kept us fully updated the entire time. Our dog adored her, our home was left spotless, and we felt totally at ease from start to finish. Honestly, she went above and beyond. We’d book her again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Barking walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Barking choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
