“Nicole was a lovely dog sitter. She is very communicative, attentive and sent regular updates. She happily arranged a meet and greet before the sit just to make sure Albe and her got along. Albe loved spending time with Nicole and was clearly well looked after. I would definitely use Nicole again 😊”

About: I’ve been caring for cats and dogs since I was 13, and my love for animals started even earlier. I grew up around them on my grandparents’ farm. I’m now a proud owner of two cats and a dog, so I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy and caring to look after your pets. With years of hands-on experience, I’m confident providing attentive, reliable care tailored to each pet’s needs. As a student, I’ve built a routine that allows me to balance my studies with doing what I love, caring for animals. I have free time during the day and on weekends, which means I can give your pets plenty of attention, play, and cuddles. Whether it’s drop-in visits, walks, or overnight stays. I always follow the owner’s routine to keep pets happy and comfortable. I’ll make sure they’re fed on time, get plenty of play and exercise, and have company if they like cuddles or just someone nearby. I’ll also keep the space tidy, send regular updates, and make sure your pets feel safe and loved while you’re away.

About: My husband and I both owned dogs back at our home country respectively, and we both missed them very dearly. We had our dogs since they were 2 weeks old, my husband is great at training puppies and I am organized in keeping the hygiene of the pets. I am a stay at home wife, which allows me to have plenty of time to keep the pets well accompanied and taken care of. It's an apartment with just my husband and I, we do not have kids around nor other pets here so the pets will not face any conflicts and have plenty of space.

“Kaitlyn did an amazing job with our cats, despite their fussy routines! She handled all the meds perfectly as well and we came back to a clean house and happy kitties. Will definitely book her again in future :)”

“Ri was great with Ziggy! No issues at all and kept the place tidy. Needed a dog sitter last minute and she was able to accommodate. Kept in touch during the dog sit and made me feel comfortable after not having the best experience with the previous dog sitter. Highly recommend! Thanks Ri!”

“We recently had Sepideh watching our beloved senior terrier for 9 days at our home. Our dog is low maintenance in some regards, but has separation anxiety and a few health requirements that need detailed overall care. It’s very difficult to leave a 16 year old dog for such a timeframe, but Sepi was a real pro. She’s caring, calm and communicative. She kept me updated throughout our time away and sent photos and other updates. She took excellent care of our little doggy and I could see their bond right away when we returned. It was great to have Sepi staying at the house and she kept everything tidy. Would absolutely recommend Sepi.”

Wasabi was clearly very happy and comfortable in her care. We will definitely be booking Alice again and would highly recommend her to others without hesitation.”

About: Hi my name is Simona I am A loving and trustworthy animal lover I’m a friendly, caring and responsible dog lover who would be very happy to look after your little one while you’re away or u need to work I have my own dog(my flatmate dog /half mine), so I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can genuinely trust. I’m very attentive to dogs’ needs, routines and personalities, and I want them to feel safe, comfortable and loved while they’re with me. I live in a friendly home with my flatmate, and we both love dogs. Your dog would have plenty of company, attention and affection rather than being left alone for long periods. I mainly welcome small and small-to-medium-sized dogs who are comfortable in a home environment. I’m happy to offer daycare or overnight stays, particularly during weekends. Whether you need someone to look after your dog for the day, a weekend, or while you’re away, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of care, cuddles, playtime and attention. Most importantly, I will treat your dog with the same kindness, patience and care that I would want someone to give to my own dog. Pet care fits very naturally into my routine, especially at weekends. Since I work I bank Monday to Friday I have most weekend free :) I already have my dog, so I’m used to providing daily care, walks, playtime, feeding and lots of attention. I’m available mainly during weekends for daycare and overnight stays, and I can dedicate plenty of time to the dogs staying with me. I enjoy having dogs around and making sure they feel comfortable, safe and cared for in a calm home environment. I’m also happy to follow each dog’s usual routine, including feeding times, walks and any special requirements. When caring for a pet in their owner’s home, I make sure to follow their usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime and rest. I understand that dogs feel most comfortable when their routine stays familiar. I’m respectful of the owner’s home and treat it with the same care and consideration as I would my own. I’ll give the dog plenty of attention, affection and companionship, while also respecting their space and individual personality. I’m happy to keep the owner updated with messages and photos, so they can relax knowing their dog is safe, comfortable and well cared for while they’re away.

About: I have experience caring for a wide variety of cats and dogs, including tabby cats, British Shorthairs, and Sphynx cats. I have also looked after many different dog breeds and have grown up around animals, having owned Rottweilers and a Poodle, and I currently care for my Shih Tzu and two tabby cats. I am very confident handling pets of different personalities and needs, including dogs with separation anxiety. I genuinely enjoy working with animals and take pride in making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. My aim is to give pet owners complete peace of mind, knowing their pets are in safe and loving hands at all times. I am a full-time SEN secondary teacher, however I spend my spare time (after 15:00) caring for cats and dogs, including my own pets. I have a strong passion for animals and really enjoy providing them with attentive, reliable care outside of my working hours. I am also available throughout all school term holidays, so if you are looking for a full-time pet sitter during these periods, please feel free to get in touch. In addition, I am open to last-minute weekend bookings where possible. With owner permission, I also love taking dogs out for enriching walks to places such as local parks or forests to ensure they are happy, stimulated, and enjoying their time while in my care. I have a fenced garden with plenty of space for pets to safely roam and enjoy themselves. I also have a female, friendly Shih Tzu named Paris, who is very sociable with other dogs and is also comfortable around cats, as she has lived alongside my two tabby cats. My cats are generally independent and often spend time outdoors in the neighbourhood or relaxing in their own space indoors, so visiting pets are able to have a calm and low-stress environment. I always ensure any pets in my care are introduced slowly and safely where needed, and I prioritise their comfort and wellbeing at all times.

It has been a very positive first experience with Şansel! I reached out to her ahead of a two and a half week summer holiday. She was very responsive, and kindly came to see us ahead of time so we could introduce her to Camomille and go through her routines. Camo immediately warmed up to her. During our trip, she sent lots of pictures and daily updates, which we found very helpful as we always miss Camo when we’re away. We came back to a sparkling clean and tidy flat, and a relaxed and purring Camomille. We will book Şansel again, and recommend her to other cat parents!

Lily was absolutely unbelievable! My dog does not take well to new people and Lily handled her like an absolute professional. She was flexible and adapted to the situation based on what was best for my dog and allowed me to fully relax on my holiday despite how nervous I was to go away. She is calm, cool, and collected even in the face of a very nervous and stressed out dog and I can’t thank her enough for how wonderful she was!

We had the great pleasure in meeting Nicole and welcoming her into our home for just over a week to look after our beloved Cat. Nicole was friendly warm and professional from theoutset. Arranging to meet us ahead of the stay and also coming over the day before to pick up keys and for a final check of everything. Nicole was absolutley fantastic and seemed to have a way with our Cat that not many others do. She connected stright away and was very knowledgable about animals. We had great confidence in leaving her at our home and looking after our cat. Whilst away Nicole kept us fully updated with texts and photos which kept us amused and also allowed us to relax and enjoy our holiday. Upon returning home, the fatat was spotless and the cat wass very relaxed and happy. We would not hesitate in asking Nicole to come and do this for us whenever we go away again - THANK YOU NICOLE, absolute pleasure!! :-) Gary and Claire

Kelly was incredibly kind and gentle with Wasabi. Wasabi had a wonderful time with her, and it was clear that Kelly is reliable, caring, and attentive. We felt completely at ease knowing Wasabi was in such good hands. We will definitely be booking with Kelly again!

Addison came to look after our 2 cats and our dog in our home for the evening. She was incredibly affectionate with them all, super friendly and kept us updated throughout the evening with pictures and messages! She even got our very nervous cat to come down for a cuddle and sent a gorgeous report card to summarise their stay which was a lovely touch. Addison clearly has a way with animals and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for some loving care for their pets! :)

Susanna is such a great find on rover. She was able to accommodate us last moment and was so understanding of all the requirements of our demanding animals. Returned to a very neat house and happy pets, she also sent us the cutest photo updates. We would book her again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

Khushi looked after our dog for the day and we had a great experience. She was kind, reliable, and clearly very caring with animals. We came back to a very happy and relaxed dog. We felt completely at ease and would happily trust Khushi again in the future. Highly recommended!

Annie has been great looking after Zeus! Communication was great and she made sure she followed Zeus’s routine and sent lots of pictures throughout the day. The communication beforehand was great as well - making sure we felt comfortable before the handover! Would recommend Annie! Thank you!

Karly was a great sitter! One of those people you can just tell loves cats! Our boy is very clingy, but when we came home he barely even glanced at us, which is a sure sign that Karly gave him all the attention and love he needed while we were away (and he needs a lot!). She really went the extra mile with his care and was super helpful with things like bins and mail, asked clarifying questions about his care, sent regular updates and pictures, and left the house exactly as it was when she arrived. We also have catcams and she was very fine with them remaining on the whole time we were away, which I think really says good things about her trustworthiness. Very responsible and trustworthy, I definitely recommend her as your next catsitter!

Faith was a phenomenal sitter for us and took exceptional care of Ophelia. Prior to the booking, Faith took the time to properly understand Ophelia's needs, play style, and overall well-being. Throughout the week, she provided daily updates and even helped Ophelia develop better habits—like sitting patiently while her dinner is prepared—which is something we’ve struggled with in the past. She even taught her new tricks that we are looking forward to practicing! We absolutely loved Faith's care and attention to Ophelia's needs, as well as her understanding of our communication style while we were away. It gave us total peace of mind during our first holiday apart from her. We would absolutely recommend Faith to any pet owners seeking a knowledgeable and caring sitter who treats your pet like their own. Thank you so much, Faith; we came home to a happy, playful cat who truly enjoyed the time she spent with you.

First class service! Alice was incredibly reliable and took excellent care of Wasabi. She arrived on time and looked after him attentively throughout the day. Wasabi was clearly very happy and comfortable in her care. We will definitely be booking Alice again and would highly recommend her to others without hesitation.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Barking walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Barking choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
