My dog Paco was very happy and at ease with Crystal when she came to dog sit for me. He’s still very young and energetic and she was great with him, a real natural touch with dogs. She also sent lots of pictures which was reassuring. Thank you.

About: I have over 5 years of experience working with both dogs and cats as a dog walker and pet carer. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Animal Management and Zoology, giving me a strong understanding of animal behaviour, welfare, and individual needs. Through my qualifications I have worked with dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including young, senior, and disabled animals. I’m confident adapting my care to suit each pet, whether they need an energetic walk, gentle senior care, support with training and socialisation, or simply some companionship. Pet care is a major part of my week being surrounded by dogs and cats daily offering walks and other creative activities, so I have flexible availability throughout the week. Any pet I'm caring for will be a priority, and I'm able to dedicate plenty of time to their walks, care, companionship, and individual routines For boarding and house sitting, I care for pets in their own home rather than housing them at mine, allowing them to stay in a familiar and comfortable environment. Before any booking, owners complete a form providing important information such as their pet's routine, specific needs, any health concerns, and their local vet details. I follow all instructions provided by the owner carefully and make sure each pet receives the individual care and attention they need.

Alelsandra did an incredible job of caring for our young kitten Pumpkin whilst we were away for a weekend. It was our first time leaving him but her lovely updates and photos reassured us and we came home to a very happy and content boy (and a spotless house). We highly recommend Alelsandra and are booking her to look after him again this summer. Thank you so much!!

We feel so lucky to have found Hayley! She cared wonderfully for our elderly, anxious cat who needs daily medication and lots of attention. She kept us reassured with updates and photos, formed a lovely bond with him, and also cared for our fish and kept the house tidy. If I could give more stars, I would — highly recommended!

Communication throughout was excellent and Jess even arranged to met Dusty beforehand to ensure our pup felt comfortable ahead of time. We were updated with vids and pics both days, and felt very reassured knowing Dusty was being well looked-after. Jess is a wonderful, caring dog-sitter and we won’t hesitate to rebook her in the future.

About: As a dog owner, I know the feeling of leaving your baby behind 🐶💛 That’s why I make sure every furry friend has the coziest, safest, and happiest time while you’re away. My little Chihuahua keeps me company, so I know how important those snuggles and updates are! 🐾✨ You’ll get pictures, updates, and all the love your pet deserves. a proud Chihuahua mom, I know how important it is to care for every furry friend like their family. 🐶💛 From cozy snuggles to fun playtime, I make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Im currently studying, so I spend a lot if time at home and can dedicate plenty of attention to your furry baby. I love having a dog around while I study and im able to provide regular companionship, toilet breaks, cuddles, playtime and walks rather than leaving them along for long periods. My senior chihuahua Buddy is also part of my everyday life, so your dog will have lots of company and a loving home environment. For me, looking after a dog is much more than simply providing walks, food and somewhere to stay. I genuinely care about each dog as an individual and want them to feel like part of the family while they’re with me. I pay attention to their little personalities, routines, body language and comfort whether that means a dog who wants endless cuddles, one who needs lots of play and stimulation, or a nervous pup who simply needs someone to sit quietly beside them until they feel safe. Every dog is different, and I take the time to understand what makes your dog happy and comfortable. My own rescue chihuahua has taught me so much about patience, compassion and attentive care.Through caring for him, including his heart murmur, Ive become particularly aware of his needs of older dogs and the importance of noticing changes in breathing, energy, behaviour and overall comfort. I also have first aid knowledge so I know how important it is to stay calm observant and prepared if something unexpected happens. Im probably a slightly crazy dog mum, but I think that's exactly what makes me love looking after other peoples dogs so much. when your dog stays with me, my aim is for them to feel like theyre having a little holiday with family not simply being looked after. Im always happy to arrange a meet & greet beforehand, especially if your dog will be staying overnight with my chihuahua Buddy.I want both dogs to feel comfortable and I rather take the time to introduce them probably and make sure its a good match. Your dogs safety and wellbeing always comes first. Im a very attentive dog owner and pay close attention to body language behaviour energy levels and anything that seems unusual. My own chihuahua is a senior rescue with a heart murmur so I have experience being particularly mindful of breathing stress and changes in wellbeing.

About: I grew up in animal care in Australia, where my mother was an official rehabilitation carer for the RSPCA (along as an annual fundraiser for WWF). Our home was a revolving door for all walks of life. Everything from kangaroos and dingos to sheep and horses - so responsible, hands-on animal care was simply part of daily life from a young age. Dogs were my mother's particular specialty, and she cared from everything from Chihuahuas to Pitbulls, often at the same time (and always without a single fight between them). As the eldest of five children, I was regularly given responsibility for looking after our animals and for setting the example for my younger siblings. My own first dog, Shandy, came into my life on my third birthday and stayed by my side for a wonderful 18 years. She was my grounding in what it means to properly care for a dog throughout every stage of its life. Since moving from Sydney to London back in 2009, my hands-on animal care has continued closer to home having adopted a rescue cat, Sharon, who's now 14 and very much my ride-or-die. She's taught me a lot about patience, trust and reading non-verbal cues. Skills that transfer directly to working with animals who can't tell you what they need in words. I work part-time freelance from home so flexibility is a strength of mine. My schedule is fluid when it comes to weekends and weekdays. I like to keep up to date with Youtube Tutorials about best care tips for pets. As an ex life guard and swim coach - safety, trust and environment are part of my core values.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life, and they’ve always felt like family to me. I have a sweet, playful 2‑year‑old pup of my own, so my days are already filled with walks, cuddles, and all the little routines that help dogs feel safe and loved. I’m also very comfortable caring for older dogs — I understand their slower pace, their need for patience, and the little comforts that make them feel secure. Whether your dog is young and full of energy or a senior who enjoys a calm stroll, I treat every pup with the same warmth, attention, and kindness I give my own. Since relocating to London, I’ve found myself with plenty of free time and a real desire to spend it doing something meaningful. I’m between careers, and with my own furry friend back home with family, I genuinely miss having a dog around every day. Caring for other people’s pups fits beautifully into my routine, long walks, gentle company, and making sure every dog feels safe, loved, and understood. I live in a secure, gated apartment building with a large green space right outside, which makes it easy to give dogs plenty of fresh air, sniffing time, and relaxed walks. My apartment is spacious and calm, so dogs have room to settle in, explore, and feel comfortable. When I’m caring for pets in an owner’s home, I follow their routines closely — feeding times, walk schedules, and any special instructions — to make sure their dog feels safe and supported. Whether a pup is staying with me or I’m staying with them, I focus on creating a gentle, predictable environment where they can relax and feel at home.

About: I have my own two pet dogs, Bambi (the mother) who is 8 years old and her son Sabba who is 4 years old. I have experience of looking after dogs very well. I am very careful about what food items are poisonous for them or what food items provide proper nutrition. I have taken Bambi Sabba on a lot of walks as well so I know how to play with them outside and how do I let them be while being aware of dangers and protecting them as well. I’m currently studying for my Master’s and working part-time as a barista, so I’m looking for flexible pet-care opportunities around my schedule. I’m available on my days off and around my working hours, and I’d be happy to arrange regular or one off bookings that work for both of us. I’m attentive to their routines, feeding times and individual needs, and I’m happy to follow any instructions from their owners. When caring for pets in someone else’s home, I’m respectful of their space and make sure everything is kept clean and tidy. Most importantly, I treat every pet with patience, kindness and plenty of attention.

Highly recommend! Addison looked after our home and two British Shorthairs while we enjoyed a 10 day holiday. Addison was so professional but more importantly our cats loved her. She provided daily updates with photos/videos and even included a report card when we returned home (a really cute touch!). Our home was also left spotless. Will definitely book again in the future. Thanks so much Addison! W&W send their love

Alelsandra took excellent care of our rather high maintenance elderly cat. She administered topical and oral medications on schedule, keeping our cat happy and healthy. She was on time and self sufficient, taking great care of our home. She even dealt with an intruder neighbour cat calmly. We would definitely recommend Alelsandra, she sent lots of lovely updates and pictures over the trip and we came home to a happy cat and a perfectly clean home.

Thanks a million, Nicole, for taking such good care of Tayto. We honestly couldn’t have asked for anyone better to look after him. At 11 years old, Tayto is very attached to us and feels most comfortable in his own home, so it was incredibly reassuring knowing he was in the hands of such an experienced and caring dog sitter. Your daily updates and photos were so appreciated and gave us real peace of mind while we were away. You were always so responsive and clearly went the extra mile to make sure Tayto was happy and settled. Coming home to a happy dog and a lovely, clean house was an added bonus! We’re so grateful for the care and attention you gave Tayto and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending you to anyone looking for a dog sitter. Thank you again, Nicole! ❤️

We were lucky enough to have Zoe and Ross to sit for 11days to look after our crazy but kind rescue boy, Loki. He came with a bit of a rider as can be an anxious lad sometimes and needed someone who was happy to work with his likes and dislikes, as well as well as carry on the consistent messaging he knows. Zoe asked all the right questions about Loki’s needs and we couldn’t have asked for a better match - lovely, kind people. Zoe took time to read our messages prior to our meet and greet and stayed in touch until our booking. Zoe immediately put our dog at ease and was happy to follow his routine. Zoe shared lovely photos of their stay with our dog and the adventures they got up to, exploring a range of sites in our area. It was lovely to see pictures and have messages of how Loki was getting on, including looking very chilled and having a good play in the garden. The house was spotless on our return and Loki was clearly very happy and relaxed with Zoe and Ross. I would highly recommend them both for conscientious, experienced and attentive dog sitters. It was lovely to have a couple who have life experience too and took initiative, such as a minor power cut in the home and having their bedding in the wash on our return. Would absolutely use again for our Loki.

FAQs for House Sitting – Greenwich

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Greenwich on Rover is £40.25 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 16,356 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Greenwich. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Greenwich walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Greenwich choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
