“We had Leanna come in and feed our cocker spaniel Rupert and stay a few hours while we were away for the afternoon and evening. When we arrived back he was very calm and chilled. Communication was swift and easy she even came to meet Rupert a few days beforehand as she lives locally to us. Handed over keys the night before and then we had her leave them in the flat when she left. Would definitely use Leanna again ***** 5 STARS *****”

“Ally took such good care of our senior cat Felix, we came back to a very happy and chilled cat. We had regular updates so knew she was being taken excellent care of. Would highly recommend Ally to anyone looking for a reliable and professional cat sitter ⭐️”

“Solange was very quick to learn and remember all the instructions I gave her (my dog is deaf so we use a lot of hand signs and is a picky eater too!). Most importantly, my dog was immediately at ease with her. Solange communicated very well throughout the sit. I had great peace of mind while I was away. Would definitely recommend her!”

“Adrianna was lovely! Great communications before, during and after. Looked after our very old dog with kindness and understanding. Am using her again without hesitation. Can highly recommend.”

“Caroline was a great dog sitter in our home minding our young puppy Murphy for the evening - he took to her instantly and had a great time! Caroline was fantastic - arrived on time, great communication and kept us updated throughout the evening with lots of photos. We will happily use Caroline again in the future :)”

“Daniela and Luca have been amazing with Rocky. We would have absolutely no hesitation to recommend Daniela for future boarding and sitting - Rocky was soooo happy with them and I really feel he was sad to come home with us. Daniela and Luca kept us up to date with posts and photos which bought peace of mind given this was our first experience with them.”

“Kerri was absolutely brilliant! She looked after our 8 year old husky while we were away for our wedding weekend and we came back to a healthy happy dog who barely noticed we were gone. I wouldn’t hesitate to trust her with any dog, and we got so many photos as well!”
“Roshni was great - she was available at short notice, replied very quickly and was super easy to communicate with. She was not daunted by our overly-friendly, excitable, golden retriever and provided us with updates and pictures. Peanut clearly had fun and we came back home to a happy tired puppy. We would absolutely book Roshni again.”

“Sofi was great with our greyhound, Pongo. She handled the shoes she wears really well, and was communicative and responsive throughout. Would recommend and hope to use again - thank you Sofi.”

“Thank you so so much, it has been such a relief knowing that Stanley has had such a lovely time with you (I get holiday guilt when leaving him) but the updates and pics have been fantastic. Many thanks for treating him like part of the family. Hope to see you again. X”

“Ali took great care of Peanut for us while we were out all day. He was clearly very comfortable with bigger dogs and gave Peanut a great day with a couple of walks and plenty of play. Peanut was sad to see Ali leave but quickly fell fast asleep from a very full day together. Definitely booking Ali again in the future!”

“Katherine house sat for my 2 year old Labrador Lenny whilst I was out for the day. Lenny can sometimes still be full of energy and can be a bit stubborn on walks but Katherine was able to provide all the walks, care and attention that Lenny required. I would highly recommend Katherine to anyone looking for a dog sitter!”

“We felt very safe leaving Ty with Leila. She was mindful of his requirements and made sure to know everything about him before sitting him, very kindly agreeing to meet us ahead of the stay. She was very sweet and loving to Ty and he loved her 😁”

“Cat is a five star cat sitter all the way. She's easy to work with, reliable, sends tons of photos and updates. Most of all you can tell she really, really loves cats. And my cat Bean loved her! Would book her again no question.”

“Sophie is a great sitter. Very engaged beforehand to understand exactly what Lenny needs. Gave him all the care and attention on the day with lots of updates. I would highly recommend Sophie for your pet sitting needs!”

“Had a really last minute request and Nicole was so quick and responsive and accommodating. It was obvious Brutus felt safe and happy as soon as she arrived so obviously some super strong dog energy vibes. Couldn’t ask for more really! 10/10, five stars”

Veronika looked after our two cats while we were away for a week. She cared and loved them as her own. We were nervous to leave during the heatwave but she did great, making sure the cats were as comfortable as they could be. The flat was well taken care of and everything was clean when we got back. Thank you!

Caroline was a great dog sitter in our home minding our young puppy Murphy for the evening - he took to her instantly and had a great time! Caroline was fantastic - arrived on time, great communication and kept us updated throughout the evening with lots of photos. We will happily use Caroline again in the future :)

God sent!! Adriana was absolutely amazing with Pako! She cared for him better than me, with constant updates and photos to my mind at ease! Looking after a dog with seizures is hard but Adriana went the extra mile to make sure he was ok. She took her time to research and ordered tailored made food for him which he loves! Me and Pako cant thank you enough ❤️

Theodora was an excellent cat sitter for my cat Tybalt, while I was away. She was very communicative throughout, sending regular updates, which I really appreciated and which gave me peace of mind. She is warm, friendly, and clearly very experienced with cats. Most importantly, Tybalt absolutely adored her and was clearly very happy and well cared for. Knowing he was in such good hands made it much easier to be away. I would highly recommend Theodora!

Giovanna was an absolute dream as both a cat sitter and house sitter. We came home to such a welcoming, well looked after home, and communication throughout was excellent. She was incredibly easy to work with and, most importantly, Benji clearly adores her. He was treated like a king while we were away! We’d highly recommend Giovanna and would happily book her again :)

Georgia house sat for our two cats whilst we were away for a weekend and has been an amazing sitter! She was clearly experienced with cats (gave them space if needed but also played with them) and gave regular updates on how they were getting on which made us feel very happy knowing they were being well looked after. Would highly recommend Georgia!

Sophie was the perfect sitter. Alfie immediately warmed to her and she intelligently and maturely understood his medical needs and how to care for him. I felt that Alfie was in super safe hands with her. She clearly loves animals. Would definitely book her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Waltham Forest walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Waltham Forest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
