“Ash has been great with our Luna who is a sensitive / not social little thing. Ash did a pre-visit with Luna first to see if they would get along and then did a full day. Everything worked out perfectly. Ash is fantastic with her and has her best interests and care at heart. Would really recommend using Ash especially if you have anti-social pets. Her warmth and personality gets them befriended in no time. I'm glad my dog has made a new friend besides my husband and I.”

“This was the first time we'd left Mabel (other than a brief weekend in Edinburgh) for nearly two years and Sharon was absolutely amazing. To say there was a bit of separation anxiety (us, not Mabel!) would be an understatement but Sharon was so brilliant with Mabel that we could get on and enjoy our holiday knowing the pair of them were having a great time. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sharon and will definitely be planning our next overseas trip again soon!”

“April is always so attentive and we know that Milo is in good hands! This is the second time that April has looked after Milo and we couldn’t be happier with the updates and communication we receive.”

“I wish there were more stars to give. I have been really lucky to find such amazing sitters on here. Gosia was just a delight with Louie, she is clearly experienced and knows what she is doing. She introduced Louie to her 2 dogs and alleviated any fears I had. She kept me up to date with Louie’s antics and I have complete and utter trust in her to look after my baby boy! Thank you so much, I’m sure Louie had the best times!”

“Joao and Lara looked after my dog for a week! He is quite nervous and takes a while to warm up to strangers, but he was clearly so well taken care of as he was very relaxed when we returned home. The house was also very taken care of as was spotless when we returned. Thank you very much”

“Hi Kerri was professional and reliable when looking after venom. Kerri had a couple of unforeseen issues come up but had stayed professional and put Venom’s care first and looked after him until we returned from our holiday. Thank you Kerri for looking after venom and our house while we were away.”

“I am so relieved to have found James to look after my Jack Russell, Jasper, for me. James is a very calm and gentle person and was amazing with Jasper. He also looked after the house beautifully and kept it pristine. My tomatoes were lovingly watered and are thriving too. Travelling next time will not be stressful knowing that I can count on James.”

“All I can say is thank god I found Ellie. Getting our puppy wasn’t planned, and we already had a holiday booked. I was contemplating whether to go or cancel. Thought I’d give Rover a try and came across Ellie’s profile. She lives local to me, which was a huge bonus as it meant she knew the area well. I instantly just felt a positive vibe after having a little conversation and instantly knew Eira was going to be in safe hands, which made my anxiety go away. Ellie was so keen to know every detail about Eira, from her sleep, day to day routine, and general care. We came home to a super happy, comfortable, well looked after pup. I really can’t recommend Ellie enough. Thank you SO much for looking after our baby. Will definitely be in touch for any future plans, and Ellie is welcome round any time to come and see her new bestie! I’m sure Eira will miss you as much as you’ll miss her! 🫶🏼”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I looked after my two family dogs throughout every stage of their lives, including into their senior years, giving me experience providing patient, attentive care and adapting to their changing needs. I also have experience handling nervous and anxious dogs, and I understand the importance of taking things at their pace, helping them feel safe, comfortable and secure. I have experience caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes and energy levels, and I always tailor my approach to suit each dog’s individual personality and needs. I understand how important it is to stick to your dog’s usual routine, including feeding, walking and any medication schedules, to help them feel comfortable and settled. I’m patient, kind and always use positive reinforcement, never harsh training methods, to build trust and encourage good behaviour. I know how much owners miss their pets while they’re apart, so I’m always happy to provide regular photo and video updates, giving you peace of mind that your dog is happy, safe and enjoying their time with me. Above all, I treat every dog as if they were my own, so you can feel confident they’re in caring, reliable hands.
“Alicia looked after our three cats while we were away for over a fortnight. She proved an excellent house sitter who genuinely cared for our cats. Before we went on holiday we felt very guilty leaving them for so long but were so reassured when we saw how happy they were with Alicia that we were able to enjoy our holiday without any concerns. Alicia frequently kept in contact with us, giving us updates on our cats which enabled us to have a guilt-free holiday knowing they were in good hand. Our cats loved having her stay. When we arrived home the house was spotless. Thank you Alicia.”

Joao and his partner came and watched our 2 dogs for 1 night. This is the first time we had used this service. Joao was amazing 🤗🤗. We received constant updates, videos and photos. Thank you Joao and Lara ❤️❤️
Gosia is a trustworthy lady who took fantastic care of our Luna. She ensured we were able to let our dogs meet before the drop off day for boarding and also let us bring Luna in to get familiar with her house a day before drop off. During Luna's stay, Gosia ensured Luna gets exercise, fulfilled playtime including enrichment and playing with her dogs. Gosia provided detailed updates, photos and videos that we could check on daily to see what Luna has been up to. Gosia's flat is cozy, and her dogs are friendly. I highly recommend her and will definitely be using her services again! ❣️

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Broxbourne walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Broxbourne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
