About: Hi, I’m Kiera – your friendly, theatre-working cat sitter and proud crazy cat lady! I’ve grown up in a multi-cat household and currently have two cats! I have experience with everything from tabbies to Maine Coons and tuxedos. I treat every cat like my own – with patience, cuddles (if they want them!), and lots of love. I also support The Scratching Post charity, so cats really are my whole heart. Whether you’re away for a day or a week, I’ve got your whiskered friend covered. I work evenings as a Theatre Manager in the West End so I have my daytimes free to care for cats! I also have two nights a week off work so can help out then too! :)
“April was incredible with our animals. She took the time to get to know our large rescue dog and was very sensible, calm and quiet in her approach which is just what he needed. She looked after our cats well and all animals were happy and well looked after during our absence. She was always on time for our meet ups prior to the house sit and was happy to keep to the same routines. She quickly got used to the animals and their care - a dog and three cats - so not so easy and kept in touch with regular updates and photographs. April is a great find and we had real peace of mind that the animals were in good hands. I would highly recommend April as a dog walker / house sitter.”

“Joao and Lara looked after my dog for a week! He is quite nervous and takes a while to warm up to strangers, but he was clearly so well taken care of as he was very relaxed when we returned home. The house was also very taken care of as was spotless when we returned. Thank you very much”

“Zoe has looked after our dogs on two separate overnight stays in our home. Zoe did what we asked, and was very good at understanding that even though they are brothers they have quite different personalities and needs. Zoe sent updates with photos and always left us notes of how it all went. We highly recommend Zoe to Rover pet parents.”

“This was the first time we'd left Mabel (other than a brief weekend in Edinburgh) for nearly two years and Sharon was absolutely amazing. To say there was a bit of separation anxiety (us, not Mabel!) would be an understatement but Sharon was so brilliant with Mabel that we could get on and enjoy our holiday knowing the pair of them were having a great time. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sharon and will definitely be planning our next overseas trip again soon!”

“All I can say is thank god I found Ellie. Getting our puppy wasn’t planned, and we already had a holiday booked. I was contemplating whether to go or cancel. Thought I’d give Rover a try and came across Ellie’s profile. She lives local to me, which was a huge bonus as it meant she knew the area well. I instantly just felt a positive vibe after having a little conversation and instantly knew Eira was going to be in safe hands, which made my anxiety go away. Ellie was so keen to know every detail about Eira, from her sleep, day to day routine, and general care. We came home to a super happy, comfortable, well looked after pup. I really can’t recommend Ellie enough. Thank you SO much for looking after our baby. Will definitely be in touch for any future plans, and Ellie is welcome round any time to come and see her new bestie! I’m sure Eira will miss you as much as you’ll miss her! 🫶🏼”

“James is such a lovely guy, I have no doubts in highly recommending him From the moment he met Misty he was engaging with her He arrived as agreed , made sure Misty was happy and left as agreed For anyone thinking about a housesitter for your pet, James is your guy!”

About: Hi, I’m a second-year undergraduate student studying Zoo Biology and Animal Science, with a Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management. I’m passionate about animal welfare and have experience working with a wide range of species, breeds, temperaments, and behavioural needs. I’m confident caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, from energetic puppies and kittens needing patience, routine, and basic training reinforcement, to senior pets who may require medication, gentle handling, or extra support. I understand how important it is to maintain a pet’s normal routine, so I’m happy to follow feeding schedules, exercise plans, enrichment activities, and any specific care instructions closely. Having worked with animals in both practical and educational settings, I’m comfortable with nervous, shy, reactive, or high-energy pets and always aim to create a calm, safe, and positive environment for them. I’m reliable, attentive, and genuinely love spending time with animals, making sure they feel happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. Your pet’s wellbeing and happiness will always be my top priority I study from home and am currently working on a research project/ dissertation for ky final year at university. About: I've been passionate about animals all my life. I have looked after small, medium & large dogs; as well as cats. I regularly look after my friend's dog on a Tuesday all day and various other times and have looked after her for two weeks while she was on holiday. Currently I dont own a pet; so if your dog is nervous around othe animals there is no concern. I am friendly and kind and would love to meet your little bundle of fur. I currently work part-time in the care industry. I would be available Monday from 2:30 pm. Thursday-Sunday. I might be available for drop ins depending on what time you need. Your pet always comes first, I am more than happy to play with, walk or feed your pet. I know plenty of dog friendly areas. I am unable to look after pets securely where I live, so unfortunately that isn't an option. But anything else goes.

Joao and Lara took amazing care of our dog Milo and our cat Casper while we were away. They kept us updated with photos and messages, which gave us real peace of mind. It was clear that both pets were happy, comfortable, and well looked after. They followed all of our instructions carefully, and we came home to two very relaxed and content pets. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for kind, reliable, and trustworthy pet sitters. Thank you both so much!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Broxbourne walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Broxbourne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
