Selda visited once a day to feed my one-year-old cat, Mabel, while I was away over Christmas, and I couldn’t have felt more at ease. From our first meeting when I handed over the house key, I was completely confident that Mabel was in safe and caring hands. While I was away, Selda sent regular photos and videos, and it was lovely to see how relaxed and happy Mabel was in her company. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Selda and will definitely be using her again. Thank you 🤗

I hired Philippa to look after my cats and she was truly amazing. I was so scared as I never left them, but she reassured me. She is incredibly kind, patient, and loving, you can tell straight away how much she genuinely cares about animals. My cats adored her, even the kittens which says everything! She gave me regular updates, took great care of my home, and made me feel completely at ease the whole time I was away. Looked after them and was updating me non stop! I’m so glad I found her, and from now on she is the only person I trust to look after my babies whenever I travel. I honestly am so attached to my cats and love them so much and worry when I leave them and she put me at ease and did everything I asked. Philippa was absolutely amazing and trustworthy! I trust no one else now! She will be my go to! Thank you a million times for everything!!! If you want someone reliable, gentle, professional, kind and trustworthy to look after your fur baby …. About: I have extensive experience caring for a wide variety of animals. Growing up, I owned two dogs — a Cocker Spaniel and a Springer Spaniel — which gave me a strong foundation in responsible pet care and training. I also kept budgies and successfully raised their chicks, gaining valuable experience in handling and nurturing small animals. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have looked after friends’ dogs of various breeds and sizes while they were on holiday, ensuring each pet received appropriate exercise, attention, and care. More recently, I have been providing cat care for my neighbours during their time away, maintaining their routines and offering companionship. I take pride in providing reliable, compassionate, and attentive care for all animals entrusted to me. I am currently working full time 9-5 during the week and looking for some lovely pets to help me relax after a stressful day at work. I am also willing to offer my services on weekends depending on my availability. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and special needs, ensuring they feel secure and cared for while you’re away. Whether it’s following specific feeding instructions, keeping walks safe and fun, or sending regular updates, I treat every dog as if they were my own. You can trust that your pet will be in responsible, loving hands at all times.

About: Hi, I’m Amber! I’ve had a love for animals for as long as I can remember and have grown up with pets throughout my life, giving me plenty of hands-on experience caring for animals of all ages and personalities. My passion for animal welfare led me to study Animal Care at college, where I gained practical knowledge in animal health, behaviour, nutrition, and husbandry. After completing my qualification, I volunteered at a zoo before going on to work there as a zookeeper for a year. During this time, I cared for a wide variety of animals, developing a strong understanding of their individual needs, routines, and wellbeing while working to the highest standards of animal care. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping to their usual routine, I’ll make sure they receive the care, attention, and affection they deserve while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets, and I’ll treat them with the same love and care as if they were my own. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I currently work part-time as a waitress and bartender on a zero-hours contract, which gives me a great deal of flexibility. I usually work in the evenings, meaning I’m available for daytime visits, walks, and pet care. My work schedule is planned in advance, so I’ll always be able to let you know my availability ahead of time and ensure your pet receives the care and attention they need. About: Hello! My name is Chimma and I love taking care of pets :) Some experience I have is dog walking, washing dogs, looking after senior dogs and cats mainly, but prefer to look after older dogs as I feel like they need a bit more attention and nurturing I work from home 2 days a week and do not work Fridays so I’m more than happy to dog sit/cat sit when needed. I can travel anywhere around London and Hertfordshire so travel isn’t a problem to drop in It’s imperative that each pet is cared for in a way that suits them; safety measures include having removal of anything toxic and life threatening, keeping the main areas of the house clear of toys pets may have used and making sure everywhere is to a high level of standards for cleanliness.

About: While I’ve spent a lot of time caring for cats, my love for dogs is just as strong—and I have hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments through sitting for friends, family, and neighbours over the years. From playful puppies to older dogs who need a slower pace, I’ve cared for them all. I understand how important consistency, calm energy, and clear communication are when it comes to looking after dogs—especially when they’re adjusting to someone new. Whether it’s sticking to a regular feeding routine, administering oral medication, or making sure they get enough exercise and attention, I’m dedicated to giving every dog the personalised care they deserve and acknowledging when your pet requires nurturing, affection and play time. I’m confident with walking, feeding, basic grooming (like brushing and wiping muddy paws!), and giving your dog the companionship they need while you’re away. I also make sure to learn each dog’s individual personality and preferences—some love long walks, others prefer cuddles and quiet time—and I adjust my care accordingly. Although I don’t currently have a dog of my own, it’s always been a dream of mine—so caring for yours is truly meaningful to me. I’ll treat them like part of the family, ensuring they’re safe, comfortable, and most importantly, happy! I currently have a commitment which durates to just 3 hours a day, Monday to Friday (3 PM – 6 PM), which leaves me with plenty of time and energy to care for your furry family members! 🐾 I’m available and flexible every day—including weekends and bank holidays—and I’m more than happy to work around your schedule. Whether you need early morning check-ins, midday walks, evening cuddles, full-day care or even overnight stays, I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs. Your pet’s comfort and routine come first, and I’m here to make things as smooth and stress-free as possible for both the family and your pet. At home, I have one very spoiled Ragdoll cat who even has his own house attached to ours! While he’s a house cat, we’ve created a safe, secure outdoor space so he can explore freely. He’s treated like royalty—endless cuddles, enrichment, and affection—and I bring that same level of care and compassion to every pet I look after. Although I don’t currently have a dog of my own, I’ve always dreamed of having one. So caring for your baby will genuinely fill a little hole in my heart 💛 Whether it’s long walks, playtime in the garden, or just a comfy cuddle session, I’m ready to give your pet the same love and care I give my own. Although I understand that every pet is different, I acknowledge their individual needs and always provide the best possible care for them. Whether your pet is shy, energetic, senior, or needs medication or special attention—I adapt to their personality and routine to ensure they feel completely safe, relaxed, and happy while you’re away.

About: I I’ve got over 8 years of hands-on dog-sitting experience and have grown up around pets all my life. At home, I care for my two dogs, Cookie and Lola, and my two cats, Marvel and Zeus, so I’m very used to different personalities, routines, and little quirks. I also help out with my mum’s doggy day care, looking after a wide range of dogs, many of them are now long-term regulars who I’ve really grown attached to over time. It’s such a lovely feeling seeing familiar faces come back, and I’ve honestly fallen a bit in love with quite a few of them! This experience has helped me feel confident handling different temperaments and making sure each dog feels safe, settled, and genuinely cared for. I truly love what I do and always want every pet to feel like they’re in a calm, happy, and caring home. I work full time Monday to Friday, but I’m available in the evenings as well as full weekends and overnight care. I can offer a range of services including walks, feeding, playtime, sitting, and keeping your pet company. Due to living at home with other pets and family members, I currently offer pet care in the owner’s home. I’m always respectful of your space and will make sure to follow any house rules, routines, or specific instructions you have for your pet.

Alicia looked after our pet for four days while we were away... feeding, walking and interacting with him including lots of cuddles which is his favourite. She has a very kind, calm and caring nature which made it easy for us to trust her with our dog and our house while away. From the moment we met her at the meet and greet we could see that she really cares about animals. We received an update with photos daily during each visit and that really helped us to enjoy our holiday without worrying about our baby at home. I can highly recommend Alicia without a doubt. Thank you Alicia 🤩👌🏻

Siobhan did a great job whilst I was away for 3 weeks. She gave Honey, my cat, a lot of cuddles and really went the extra mile to make her feel cared for. I was really pleased to receive regular updates and videos/ photos of Honey. Siobhan also watered my plants - inside and outside which was a great help.

Philip was absolutely amazing, and I can't recommend him highly enough! From the moment we went away, he kept us updated with photos and videos, which gave us complete peace of mind knowing our cats were happy and well cared for. All of our cats absolutely adore him and are so comfortable around him. What really impressed us was that he even managed to win over our semi-feral two-year-old cat, who normally runs away and hides from everyone. Seeing him earn her trust so quickly was incredible. Philip is kind, reliable, and clearly has a real love and understanding of cats. We were so impressed that we've already booked him again for our next trip in August. Thank you so much, Philip—we wouldn't trust anyone else with our cats! 😺😺😺😺

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
