We have two cats (one blind and one diabetic), and Sena was absolutely brilliant with both of them. Super friendly, efficient and totally reliable - she did everything exactly as agreed, including giving our diabetic cat her injections at the right times and sending regular photo updates. The cats clearly loved her company too. We’d definitely book her again and happily recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter.

Patient and understanding for any little mishaps that puppies or senior dogs can have. DBS (police) check available on request. I provide dog walking, pet sitting, feeding, playtime, and general care to keep your pets happy, safe, and relaxed while you’re away. I've cared for many animals including dogs, rabbits and goldfish. I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes and energy levels and can also give medication when needed, including diabetic care. I will follow owners’ routines and instructions provided. I live in a three-bedroom house with a large and secure fenced garden. I currently have no pets so I can offer a sit for single dog/pets from the same household. I am also happy to care for pets in their own home.

About: Since losing my dog a couple of years a go at the grand old age of 15, I’ve been looking after pets for friends and family since. I live right next door to a lovely park, plenty of fields and trails. Happy to put the mileage in if your pet requires it. I’m patient and dogs seem to love me. Happy to help with training also. Will also look after cats if required. I work from home at present and I can pick and choose my hours. I can adjust my routine to suit your pet if needed, no problem at all. If your pet is unsociable I can walk early and late if necessary. I have a large flat with a safe and secure balcony. I am 30 seconds away from a park, 5mins away from fields and there are a number of trails and woodland walks close by. If required to sit in at your place, I am clean, quiet and respectable. Happy to be adaptable to your pets needs. Whatever it takes to make the feel safe and secure.

I can’t thank Antoniya enough for looking after my boy as one of hers. Since the first meeting Joey loved her and she is been so caring and attentive, sending a lot of pictures, videos and information. I was really worried as I never left Joey alone for so long but he enjoyed Antoniya’s visits very much and I found him just as I left him. Antoniya is lovely and very professional, I highly recommend her!!

About: Hi, I’m Natalie, a devoted animal lover with more than 10 years of experience walking and caring for dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes. Having always been surrounded by pets—both my own and those of friends and family—I understand just how much trust, love, and attention dogs need, especially when their owners are busy. What sets me apart? I’m not just a passionate dog walker; I’m fully committed to making pet care my lifelong career. I'm DBS-checked, insured, and deeply invested in providing the safest and most joyful experience for your furry family member. As a trusted, local companion, I’ll treat your dog like family, ensuring they’re well-exercised, happy, and secure in my care. Let’s make your dog’s walks the highlight of their day! After years of working in an office, I decided to follow my passion: spending my days outdoors, walking, and caring for animals. Stepping away from the desk has given me the chance to bring energy, enthusiasm, and full-time commitment to dog walking. Every week, my schedule is fully devoted to keeping pups happy, active, and well-cared for—whether it's a local walk, a day of play, or simply being a reliable friend for your pet. With a lifelong love for animals and years of experience caring for family pets, I understand the importance of providing safe, attentive, and loving care. In 2008, after extensive research, my family and I welcomed our first golden retriever, Jupe, and in 2011, we rescued Dylan, another wonderful golden. They were best buddies who taught me so much about what it means to truly care for dogs, from their daily needs to understanding their unique personalities. Both were with us for nearly 13 years, and the time spent with them has been invaluable to my understanding of pet care. I’m lucky to have a spacious, fenced-in garden and easy access to beautiful parks and fields nearby, making every walk an adventure and a secure space for play. Whether caring for pets in my home or yours, I provide a caring, safe, and fun environment that pets thrive in!

Chloe was great with my cat. She sent photos and followed my instructions really well. I'm so happy she looked after him. My home was tidy and clean when I got back and Timmy seemed very cosy laying in bed waiting for us to come home. Thank you for looking after him whilst we were away 😊

About: I have lifelong experience caring for dogs and studied canine behaviour for two years. I am responsible, caring, and consistent in my approach, and I work hard to support positive behaviour. While not a specialist, I have strong foundational knowledge and ensure every dog in my care is well-behaved and well-looked-after. Pet care is a core part of my daily routine. I work full-time as a dog walker/handler, so my days are structured around walks, feeding, training, and providing consistent care. I also have two small dogs of my own—Sheeva (12) and Poppy (11)—which keeps me experienced and engaged every day. Caring for dogs isn’t something I fit in around life. It is my routine, and I truly enjoy giving each dog the attention, structure, and affection they need. I mainly provide care in my own home, where dogs enjoy a clean, tidy, and comfortable environment. There’s plenty of indoor space for them to relax, as well as a fully fenced, safe garden for toilet breaks and supervised outdoor play. I maintain a calm, structured routine and make sure each dog receives the right balance of attention, exercise, and affection. I treat every dog as if they were my own, ensuring they feel secure, welcomed, and well cared for throughout their stay.

About: I am currently a 3rd year Veterinary Medicine student at the Royal Veterinary College in Potters Bar, in between my studies I have a lot of time to help out with any pet care you require. I have over 12 weeks of work experience at animal rescues, kennels, and catteries over the past two years, which has given me a solid understanding of animal behaviour and appropriate handling of different breeds. Additionally I have many weeks of petsitting/housesitting experience which I would be happy to provide references for :). At home, I have a high-energy english pointer and have had cats my whole life but sadly living away whilst at uni means I miss my pets a lot, a house without a pet definitely feels empty! I also previously worked in a vet clinic for over a year, therefore have good communication and professionalism skills - you can guarantee I will reply promptly and provide a professional service! I understand that sometimes you want to give your pet the best life possible but it can be difficult to fit around a busy schedule, that is why i’m here to ensure that your pet gets everything they need while you can carry on with your day! I have a car so can travel to wherever you are located + can take your dog out if needed (I have a dog guard), which is important for veterinary emergencies or also just to go on a fun walk! I am currently studying at university, however, I have a lot of spare time during the week. Since each day has a different structure when I am available can vary slightly but I can very easily structure when I am working around when you need help! The evenings and the weekends are the times where I am the most available to book. At home, my pointer gets a long walk (1hr+) in the woods or fields once a day. Being high energy, she needs a long stimulating walk to run off some of that energy! She gets fed immediately after the walk as she is very non food motivated and will only eat when shes starving! At home she sleeps a lot and then gets her second rush of energy in the evening, this is where we tend to mentally stimulate her by playing with her and getting her to do tricks. Her and my cat are very close and can often be found snuggling together during the day or in the evening. My cat is abnormally large for his breed which means he’s a bit more prone to injury and doesn’t have the best breathing but now he is older he is mostly interested in snuggling with you and occasionally playing (while laying down usually).

About: have loads of pet sitting and walking experience. The first dog I've walked still stays over regularly. I'd love to build genuine bonds with the fur babies! If you'll be away for some time, I'm more than happy to take them or check on them daily! I'm a vet student based in London. Other than going to classes, I'm mostly free on the weekends and for the Christmas holidays. If your pets are staying over I don't mind staying at home with them! If the pets are staying over, I will spend most of my time with them. They're more than welcome on all the furniture, including my bed (2 bedroom flat)! I will mediate between my work and having play time or walking them. I don't mind arriving at your home early and leaving near dinner time!

About: While I don't have formal pet-sitting experience yet, I’ve spent the last 10 years caring for my own senior cat, so I'm well-versed in the daily routines, patience, and love that pets deserve. I'm a massive animal lover across the board and am just as comfortable keeping a dog happy, walked, and entertained as I am looking after felines. I know how tough it is to leave your pets behind, and I’ll treat yours with the exact same care and attention I give my own. I have a highly flexible routine which gives me plenty of dedicated time for pet care. I’m fully available for boarding and sitting over the weekends, and on weekdays I am free anytime after 2pm to focus entirely on walking, feeding, and playing with your pets. Whether looking after your pets in my home or yours, safety is my top priority. I focus on maintaining their exact feeding and walking routines to keep them happy, and I always ensure doors and gates are fully secured. Your pets will receive constant attention, love, and care

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, our family always had either a dog or a cat, so caring for pets has been a natural part of my life. Over the years, I’ve also looked after friends’, neighbours’ and family members’ pets while they were away, giving them peace of mind that their pets were safe, happy and well cared for. For the past year, I’ve been providing pet sitting and care professionally, offering reliable, attentive care tailored to each pet’s individual needs. Whether it’s walks, feeding, playtime, administering routines or simply providing companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I understand that every animal has its own personality, and I take the time to build trust and make them feel comfortable. My goal is always to ensure both pets and their owners feel happy, confident and relaxed. I currently work full-time as a Social Media Manager, mostly from home, so I have good flexibility with days and times for pet sitting or dog walking. I don’t currently offer overnight boarding or staying in clients’ homes, and I don’t take pets into my own home due to having two indoor cats who keep each other company. My services include dog walking and cat/dog sitting for up to 8 hours during the day. I can be flexible with timing to suit individual needs, but I don’t provide overnight stays.

About: Animals have been central to my life for as long as I can remember, growing up alongside dogs and cats and developing a genuine passion for their care and wellbeing. I began formally pet sitting and dog walking at 16, and have since built up years of experience caring for the pets of neighbours, family, and friends. I currently have two companions of my own. Gatsby, my two year old cavapoo, and Zelda, my 3 year old cat, both of whom I raised from puppyhood and kittenhood respectively. This means I'm well versed in the particular needs of younger and adolescent animals, from high energy play and socialisation to patience during those early settling in stages. Before Gatsby, my family owned Sancho, our Rottweiler, so I'm equally comfortable and confident handling and walking larger breeds. Having owned my own pets, I know deeply how much our animals mean to us, they're our family. That understanding drives my commitment to providing the same standard of love, attention, and care that I give to Gatsby and Zelda to every animal I take care of. Whether your pet needs a reassuring presence while you're away, regular walks, or simply some extra company, you can count on me to treat them as my own 😁 Having just finished university, I'm currently very flexible and able to tailor my availability almost entirely around your pet's needs. Whether you need early morning walks, daytime check ins, or regular weekly arrangements, I can work around what suits you and your animal best. I'm particularly available throughout the summer and can accommodate bookings at short notice where possible. As I share my home with my own dog and cat, I'm unable to offer boarding or sitting at my own property. This ensures no unnecessary stress for your pet or mine. Instead, I come to you, which I find is often the least disruptive option for animals anyway, as they get to stay in the comfort of their own familiar environment. For dog walking, I'm happy to accommodate early morning walks. Particularly important during these warmer summer months which I know can be tough on dogs. My own dog Gatsby is very friendly and can come along to keep your fur baby company if they would enjoy that. I own my own car, so I'm also able to take dogs to new and stimulating locations such as forests, nature reserves, and open parks, if they're comfortable with car travel and up for an adventure. Am happy to dog sit/walk for long periods of time if so (half-day, or full-day outings depending on the dog). I would accommodate the furry friend entirely on their own needs <3 I'm also open to house sitting depending on location and length of stay. Whatever the arrangement, my priority is always that your animal feels safe and genuinely cared for.

About: I have cat/dog sat since I was 17 and have been raised with many different types of animals in my life. I once had a marine aquarium as a hobby, always had dogs when growing up and rabbits. Highly confident with all pets and their emotions. I love nature and walking which is perfect as I live next to a huge park. My mother had a pet store when I was little which is one of the reasons why I love animals so much. I have just graduated from university reading Art and History so I have plenty of time. I have a lot of spare time currently so I can dedicate 100% of my time to your pet I have a medium sized garden, I live next to a huge green park and my living room is a comfortable size. I have a marble floor in the kitchen so it’s always cool there and the living/dining room are wooden.

I couldn’t be happier with the care Antoniya provided for my lovely cat, Aegon. From the very beginning, she was professional, punctual, organised and attentive to all of my instructions. It was clear that she genuinely cared about Aegon’s wellbeing and had an excellent understanding of cats and their behaviour. Antoniya quickly recognised when Aegon wanted affection and playtime, as well as when he simply needed some quiet space. She took excellent care of his feeding routine, hygiene and general wellbeing, while showing him great patience, kindness and affection. The regular updates she provided gave me complete peace of mind while I was away, and I returned home to find Aegon happy, relaxed and very well cared for. I felt completely confident that he was in safe and experienced hands. I would highly recommend Antoniya to anyone looking for a reliable, professional and knowledgeable cat sitter. I would certainly book her again without hesitation.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Laura as the purrfect cat sitter for your cat. I was nervous about booking someone to look after my 18 year old cat Sheba, as I had always relied on my family to care for her when I was away. However, Laura put my mind at rest and I knew that Sheba would be well cared for. Through a series of questions and answers Laura knew exactly what routine Sheba was used to; I provided notes and instructions and Laura followed these accurately. She communicated after every visit, asking questions and providing feedback, photos and videos. She developed a rapport with Sheba and as the days progressed I could see that my cat was relaxed and happy in Laura's presence. I cannot recommend Laura highly enough!

Mary-Ann is, quite simply, a cat whisperer. Our 12-year-old cat Bert is a rather nervous little gentleman who doesn’t give his affection away easily – but with Mary-Ann, he’s completely smitten. We’ve booked Mary-Ann many times for daily drop-ins in our home while we’re away, and she never fails to make Bert feel like the centre of the universe. The real magic, though, is how she transforms him into a kitten again. Bert, who normally treats toys with polite indifference, suddenly becomes an Olympic-level performer – launching toy mice into the air, executing elegant ballerina pirouettes around feather wands, and even throwing in the occasional somersault for good measure. It’s like watching a one-cat circus, and we’re obsessed. If it’s been a little while between bookings, Mary-Ann always pops by beforehand to reacquaint herself with Bert (and, more importantly, for Bert to reacquaint himself with her). A bit of playtime later and he’s completely at ease again – it’s such a thoughtful touch and incredibly reassuring for us. While we’re away, we’re treated to daily photo updates of Bert living his absolute best life – playing, lounging, and soaking up cuddles. At this point, we’re fairly certain he enjoys his “holidays” with Mary-Ann more than he does with us! We truly can’t recommend Mary-Ann highly enough. She’s warm, kind, and clearly has a special gift with animals. The fact that she’s also trained in animal first aid is just phenomenal and icing on the cake – Bert is always in the safest, most loving hands.

There are 7,955 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Hertsmere. About 90% of Hertsmere sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
