“We really appreciated Haiqing’s visits, she was very organised and everything went so smoothly. She gave good updates and sent many great pictures. Most importantly, Otter (our cat) was very happy!”

“Chloe was great with my cat. She sent photos and followed my instructions really well. I'm so happy she looked after him. My home was tidy and clean when I got back and Timmy seemed very cosy laying in bed waiting for us to come home. Thank you for looking after him whilst we were away 😊”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs, they have always been a part of my family, we currently have two and one is a rescue. But since moving out of my family home I really miss having dogs around which is why I’m more than happy to help out looking after others! I often help out with friends and families dogs too from walking to house sitting whilst on holiday. They all range in size and age so I have varied experience with all different dogs. I currently work as a surveyor but I have the flexibility to work from home 3 days a week so plenty of time to help with your dogs. I’m usually not available on Tuesday and Thursdays, and If I’m not available on the weekends this will be shown in my calendar. I keep my calendar kept as up to date as possible. Looking after dogs in the owners house, I will be able to follow advice and rules of their house as I’ve done this multiple times with friends/ families dogs. I basically mirror the routine that the owner follows so the dog can be relaxed as possible.
“Purple and Archie were amazing cat sitters! They sent daily photos and videos, kept our cats happy and playful, and were super friendly and easy to reach. We felt totally at ease and would book them again in a heartbeat!”

“Lara was a fantastic dog sitter for our dog Otis! She was incredibly responsive, kind, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. It was clear Otis was in great hands, and we wouldn’t hesitate to leave him with her again. Highly recommend!”

About: Having cared for animals my entire life, including two German Shepherds, a horse and my Bengal cat, I’m confident handling pets of all temperaments. I provide attentive, reliable care tailored to each animal’s needs, balancing affection, exercise, routine and boundaries to ensure they feel safe, happy and well looked after while you’re away. I currently work part-time, so I’m highly flexible and available throughout the week, with some weekend availability. Typically available from 11am onwards, including evenings upon request. I prioritise safety, routine and wellbeing, providing attentive care in a calm, secure environment that’s comfortable for them, while adapting to each pet’s individual needs and personality.
“Excellent service! June dropped in to see our pup Dino while we were out & he had a fabulous time with her. She kept us up to date with pictures & videos so we knew he was happy. Dino was absolutely full of beans when we got home, clearly wanting to let us know how much fun he'd had! Would definitely recommend!”

“Rosie did drop-in cat visits for my furballs whilst i was away for a long weekend... and Sox warmed to her instantly. Lots of lovely pics and she fitted us in at short notice. Thanks ever so Rosie, Sox would be happy to have you pop round again if I'm away.😊🐱”
About: I adore dogs and I am unfortunately unable to have one in my rental flat, so I thought offering to walk others' dogs might fill the void! I regularly puppy sit for my sister's 4 year old whippet and my sister in law's cockapoo. I was also extremely lucky to always have a dog in my childhood home. Our first family dog was a scrappy, collie-cross called Baldrick with the cheekiest soul and, as he got older, the stinkiest breath. Then when I was 10 we got a rescue mongrel we called Dobby, who was the gentlest, best natured dog a family could wish for. Both Dobby and Baldrick lived until they were 18!!! I am used to being gentle with anxious dogs and ensuring boundaries are in place to make everyone feel safer and have the best walk possible! My partner and I both wish we could have a dog but unfortunately our current jobs and flat won't allow for pets! Therefore walking your dog would mean the world to me just to get some doggy love into my life! I work full time Mon-Friday, however I am available Mon-Wed from 5:30pm, Thursdays from 4:30pm and Fridays from 4pm. I am also available on the weekends. I'd be happy to walk your dog as a regular commitment or as a one off! I will always make sure I speak with you about your dog's personality and preferences before going for a walk (e.g. Whether they are comfortable around other dogs, if they are allowed off lead etc.). I will only take them to parks where there is space for them to explore on or off lead, and I prefer to only take them off lead if they know and recognise me (preferably after 3 or so walks). If a dog displays signs of anxiety or distress I am comfortable taking them away to a calm space and soothing them with a gentle tone.
About: Grown up with dogs and puppies and have experience of the special care needed for sensitive rescue dogs. Trusted dog sitter for my friends and family pets. Love a long dog walk and can throw a ball for hours . I am now a freelancer so can work from home. Love dog walking and can play and cuddle dogs for hours. I miss having my own dog and looking after someone else’s is the next best thing . I would need to care for dogs in owners home or pick up for dog walks and happy to work around the dogs daily routine. I regularly house and pet sit for friends when they are away and form a special bond with their dogs.
About: I adore all pets and I have the freedom and flexibility to be able to care for your dogs from home. With plenty of long walks closely available your dog will get plenty of exercise. I am available 7 days a week. I work full time from home and only look after one dog at a time so they will get 100% attention. Long early morning and afternoon walks will give your dog plenty of exercise. I love to play ball games at home, in the garden or on walks. Giving your dog times of stimulation and rest are important but happy to follow the same routine as the owners.

Your dog will be in capable hands, receiving the same love and care as if they were my own. I also regularly sit houses and pets on TrustedHouseSitters. I am active and love the outdoors. I live with my partner, Hugo, who has also grown up around family dogs. We are out and about most mornings, and then throughout the day! We love being outdoors, going on long walks, runs, and exploring new places. We also love making the most of the weekends, so your pup may even be lucky enough to join us on a little day trip to the beach/country park/hike! Living in a clutter free and organised home with a garden. Rest assured, your dog will receive all the love and attention they deserve in our safe and comfortable home.

About: Hi! My name is Gabby and I’m a newly qualified vet living in Hatfield. I love all animals and I’m very experienced working with and caring for dogs and cats. I’ve grown up with dogs and I have a very active 2 year old Labrador at home who loves long walks and playing with his ball! My flatmate at university has an elderly cocker spaniel who I’ve helped look after for 2 years so I’m comfortable looking after all sorts of dogs with different temperaments and needs. I’m also able to administer any medications your pet may need whilst you are away. I have variable availability during the week and weekends, although I may need to leave in the day for a couple of hours. I’m very happy to house sit for up to a week, and available for dog walking and doggy day care. I am very flexible for July and August and available for most weekdays and weekends with notice. I am able to dedicate the majority of the day to your pet and fit in to their needs. Having worked with dogs and cat for over 5 years, I have lots of experience with different temperaments of pets. I’m confident administering any medications that they may need and with give them however much exercise they require. I will try as best I can to make your pet comfortable in their own home and fit into their routine!
About: Hi! I've had animals my whole life, and i can't wait to meet yours! I have been providing holiday care for other people's pets for a few years now, including cats, puppies and old boys. I have a cat who is used to these animal vistors, but the house is big enough that if they dont get along i cam keep them separated and happy. I also have two rabbits, but they're safe in an enclosed run in the garden! The garden is also a decent size for your doggy to sniff about happily. My children are all very respectful of animals and their space, but love a snuggle and a play when the animal is willing! I am home most of the day and would love to explore the many local parks with your dog. I tend to not leave the dog alone at all, instead taking them with me on my outings and errands. If your four legged friend wants a fun, family home with lots of friendliness then this is the sitter for you! I work part time from home. I don't like to leave dogs alone at all, and cats will not be alone for more than a couple of hours (not that they mind as much!) Animals who come to stay become part of the family. They eat before us, dogs come put with us, and cats stay cosy indoors with the house to explore. The garden is a good size, pets are allowed on the furniture , and maybe the beds if they're irresistable. I can go on walks as long as your dog needs, and will happily follow your instructions on how to play, interact or discipline your pet.
“Lucia did a wonderful job caring for our cats, feeding them, changing their litter, and making sure everything was done exactly as we asked. She was efficient, caring, and a great communicator, and we would absolutely use her again and highly recommend her to others.”

About: Animal carer with over 15 years of hands-on experience looking after dogs and cats. I bring confidence, reliability, and a genuine love for animals to every role. While based in London, I regularly cared for pets belonging to friends and family, including extended stays and freelance dog walking. More recently, I worked full-time as a professional dog walker and day carer with Mad Dogs and Englishmen in Coogee, Sydney. This role significantly developed my skills, particularly in problem-solving and remaining calm under pressure, while reinforcing my commitment to high standards of animal care and safety. Since moving back to London I’m extremely keen to continue building on the valuable experience I’ve gained and spend more time with furry friends :) I work in hospitality and so my schedule is very flexible and I only need a week’s notice to guarantee a booking. I am also happy to accept bookings on the day, given that it fits in with my schedule. I have cared for several dogs recently both in and out of home for friends, family and clients. I am extremely adaptable to catering to each dog’s needs and ensure smooth sailing!

I was very impressed and pleased after Sam looked after Heidi for a week in which being the first time having Sam She was very professional, sent me video/photos/messages keeping me updated everyday. Sam done an amazing job at keeping Heidi as cool as possible in the awful heatwave even though She liked to play and be brushed. I would definitely use Sam again as left my home clean and tidy and one happy cat.

Absolutely fantastic - I would happily work with Carla again. She was incredibly communicative throughout, sending photos and videos after each visit, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. The cats were happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for when I returned. I really appreciated the attention and care she gave them and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.
Lucy is the first person I’ve ever trusted with my cat whilst I’ve been away and I was quite nervous at first . However she responded quickly to my enquiry and instantly put me at ease . She did a meet and greet before I went away and is a really nice pet loving lady . Each day she was on time and sent me great detailed updates and photos . My cat was spoilt and he loved her ! Lucy is extremely professional and I’d highly recommend her . I’ll definitely be using her again 😊
Chloe was great with my cat. She sent photos and followed my instructions really well. I'm so happy she looked after him. My home was tidy and clean when I got back and Timmy seemed very cosy laying in bed waiting for us to come home. Thank you for looking after him whilst we were away 😊

Rosie was brill, arranged a visit before we went away for an introduction, to understand our cats needs and where everything is etc. Sent daily photos and updates whilst we were away and was happy to accommodate flexible visits, she also kindly swept and hoovered before we came back! Thanks so much Rosie

Helen looked after my two cats while I was on holiday. She quickly became best friends with them, despite their cautious nature - we got lots of photos of belly rubs and cuddles. We came home to two happy cats 🙂 Would definitely recommend and will be using her again!

Thank you Safiyyah!!! You helped me to handle my energetic teenager cat & my nervous old cat perfectly. Safiyyah knows how to handle both and always let me know my cats status after the visit. She let me have a peaceful mind during my vacation. This is my 2nd booking already, definitely 5 stars and will rebook.

Lucia did a wonderful job caring for our cats, feeding them, changing their litter, and making sure everything was done exactly as we asked. She was efficient, caring, and a great communicator, and we would absolutely use her again and highly recommend her to others.

Charlotte was excellent. She took the time to check on my cat each time she visited even if she was upstairs asleep. She is 23 years old and doesn’t always hear you come in etc and is very nervy but by day 2 Charlotte had made friends with her and gave her lots of fuss. Charlottes visits gave me the peace of mind to be able to travel for work without too much worry and knowing my cat didn’t have to miss her vital medication. I would happily recommend Charlotte for cat sitting etc. She will be my go to person for my little dog as well in the future. Thanks Charlotte

This was my first trip away for a long time, and I was understandably apprehensive about leaving Esme. Georgia was very reassuring, and I felt confident in her care. The sit had a few extra challenges, as Esme was on antibiotics for the first time and we had some set times to work with. Georgia was flexible, went out of her way to make things smooth, communicated with updates and videos, and even included small thoughtful touches. Esme absolutely loved her — her kind, caring, and attentive nature really shone through. Overall, I felt secure leaving Esme in her care and would recommend her as a sitter.

We loved Kirsty and so did our cats! She’s been lovely with the cats and looked after them really well. We kept getting daily updates with photos and videos which was nice and kept us at peace as well. We will definitely rebook Kirsty if she’s available for us. ☺️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
