“Excellent service! June dropped in to see our pup Dino while we were out & he had a fabulous time with her. She kept us up to date with pictures & videos so we knew he was happy. Dino was absolutely full of beans when we got home, clearly wanting to let us know how much fun he'd had! Would definitely recommend!”

“Chloe was great with my cat. She sent photos and followed my instructions really well. I'm so happy she looked after him. My home was tidy and clean when I got back and Timmy seemed very cosy laying in bed waiting for us to come home. Thank you for looking after him whilst we were away 😊”

“Haiqing was absolutely wonderful with Frodo, our cat. I felt like he was in safe hands and being treated with care and kindness. She sent lovely pictures and communicated promptly. I would definitely ask her to look after him again.”

About: I grew up with dogs as part of the family, so now that I live away from home and can’t have one of my own, I really miss having them around. That’s why I love helping care for other people’s pups. Based in St Albans, I fit in dog walks, house sitting and check-ins around my full-time job. It gives me my much-needed dog fix and a bit of extra coffee money, all while doing something I genuinely enjoy. Currently, I am available every day of the week apart from Tuesday and Thursdays. My calendar will always be up-to-date as I would also have occasional weekend days available. Although in a flat, I have a communal garden where a dog would be happy to run. I am also next to a lovely park where many dogs go to be walked. Long walks are available.
About: I've cared for dogs since I was a child with the family dog. I've had experience caring for guide dog puppies, so I'm well prepared for any puppy antics. I'm currently searching for work so my schedule may change, but I will update my profile and availability if it changes. Otherwise, I am available all day everyday except Friday mornings. I live with one friendly cat who will most likely keep to herself. I have a green garden with a fence and I live close to many parks perfect for dog walks.
About: I’ve been pet sitting for the last few years (including dogs, cats, and hamsters), and have experience in walking, check-ins, and overnight care. I’m excited to meet your pet(s), and open to any type/breed!! 💕🎉 At the moment I am available in terms of scheduling, and am free most days. Please contact for more details to discuss both of our availability. I feel very comfortable in my ability to walk and care for animals safely, and it is always my priority to keep them from harm. I’m happy to co-operate with any special rules or needs your pet(s) may have.
“Lara did a one hour drop in for our dog Benny whilst we were out for the night at a concert. Everything went smoothly. Lara is really lovely and we would trust her again. Thank you”

“Lucia did a wonderful job caring for our cats, feeding them, changing their litter, and making sure everything was done exactly as we asked. She was efficient, caring, and a great communicator, and we would absolutely use her again and highly recommend her to others.”

“Rosie was brill, arranged a visit before we went away for an introduction, to understand our cats needs and where everything is etc. Sent daily photos and updates whilst we were away and was happy to accommodate flexible visits, she also kindly swept and hoovered before we came back! Thanks so much Rosie”

“Thank you Ellie! I arrived home to two very relaxed and happy cats last night. The flat was as I left it etc so all good. Ellie was great from the offset, communication was good and I felt totally at ease on first meeting, the cats seemed very relaxed around Ellie too. We had video & picture updates each visit. Will be booking Ellie again soon!”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs, they have always been a part of my family, we currently have two and one is a rescue. But since moving out of my family home I really miss having dogs around which is why I’m more than happy to help out looking after others! I often help out with friends and families dogs too from walking to house sitting whilst on holiday. They all range in size and age so I have varied experience with all different dogs. I currently work as a surveyor but I have the flexibility to work from home 3 days a week so plenty of time to help with your dogs. I’m usually not available on Tuesday and Thursdays, and If I’m not available on the weekends this will be shown in my calendar. I keep my calendar kept as up to date as possible. Looking after dogs in the owners house, I will be able to follow advice and rules of their house as I’ve done this multiple times with friends/ families dogs. I basically mirror the routine that the owner follows so the dog can be relaxed as possible.
“Purple and Archie were amazing cat sitters! They sent daily photos and videos, kept our cats happy and playful, and were super friendly and easy to reach. We felt totally at ease and would book them again in a heartbeat!”

About: As a dedicated animal lover with hands-on experience caring for dogs of all shapes and sizes, I’m comfortable handling everything from daily walks to overnight stays. Growing up with my own pets and regularly assisting my mum, a professional dog walker, has equipped me with the skills I need. Having recently returned from travelling I now have a flexible schedule with availability on weekdays weekends and even last-minute bookings. I understand the trust you place in me and promise your pets will always be in safe loving hands. Having recently returned from travelling, I’m currently in between jobs which means I have a completely open and flexible schedule. At home, I have my own pets and a warm welcoming environment with a garden so your pet will have plenty of space to relax and play. I’ll treat them just like one of my own, maintaining their usual routine as closely as possible including feeding walks and any medications or special requirements. I’m equally happy to come to your home which means minimal disruption for your pet. They’ll stay in their familiar environment with all their home comforts. I’ll take care of everything from feeding and walks to keeping them company and sending you regular updates so you’re always in good hands.
About: I regularly dog sit for family and friends and have done for many years. I have cared for dog with simple needs and also more sensitive dogs with complex needs and thoroughly enjoy both. I feed, walk, bathe and interect with them with the care and attention as if they were my own. This makes me their number one choice for a dog sitter. I work full-time in London and so only have weekends to care for pets, but I am commited to spending my time off caring for animals. I love to be active and spend my time off exercising and exploring the local area. I live in an average sized flat with no garden but am surrounded by green space and exciting dog walks and go outside regularly, even without dogs. The flat has a decent sized lounge which makes an excellent home for a dog.
About: As someone who grew up with at least one pet in the house (dogs, cats, birds, lizards, and fish), I have a lifelong love of animals and genuinely enjoy caring for them. For several years, I provided pet care for people in my apartment complex, gaining experience with anxious pets as well as those requiring medication and extra attention. Bonus: I'm a marine biology graduate, so please let me watch your fish <3 My schedule is currently very flexible! I have open availability throughout the week, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Because I won't be starting my master's program until September, I'm able to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening! I'm happy to work with your pet's routine to make sure they receive the care and attention they need. I am flexible to meet the needs of each animal in their own home. I want to ensure each animal is as happy and cared for as possible.
About: I really enjoy caring for family pets, so they feel calm and reassured when I visit. As a pet owner myself, I know what it takes to leave my pet with other people, and will care for your pet like my own. I’m currently working part time so will have plenty of time to play either your pets. I will work around your requirements and send feedback from every visit. I have a fenced garden so a very secure environment for your pet to explore and exercise in. Lots of pet friendly toys too. Great entertainment
About: Hi there! I’m a veterinarian that has recently moved to the area and hoping to spend some more time with animals outside of my place of work! I have been surrounded by dogs, cats, and horses among other creatures my whole life and have a passion for caring for animals. During vet school I looked after dogs via Rover and word of mouth referrals. I am now three years qualified, and comfortable looking after animals of various ages and medical needs. I also love the outdoors so I am frequently taking walks around the neighborhood- but it would be so much better with a four legged companion! Even though most of my days are spent with furry patients, I’ve always enjoyed looking after my own pets and it brings me so much joy. I am very responsible and attentive and you can be assured that your pet would be safe with me and also have a great time! I am available most Thursday’s-Sunday's and can be flexible with your pets needs. I prefer activities earlier in the day, especially over the warmer months! I am unavailable Monday-Wednesday. I always keep a close eye on the pets I watch. I am able to read animals very well and ensure they stay comfortable in their environment.

Haiqing has been absolutely fantastic and I cannot recommend her enough! She has been so reliable and a real life saver when we’ve needed a cat sitter, even when it has been last minute. She also has been super with our cat and I never have to worry about him when we are away.

Ellie took such great care of our cats!! Upon meeting she was very attentive and clearly passionate and caring. Our cats immediately felt comfortable with her and we received daily updates with every visit that put us at ease while we were away. 10/10 We’d definitely have her again.

Purple and her husband Archie were brilliant looking after our cat Penny, and even watered the garden as we were away during a heatwave. They gave us regular updates and sent lots of photos, and it was really reassuring to know Penny was being so well cared for. Thank you ☺️

We met Carla before she sat for our cat Cosmo and he took an immediate linking to her. Whilst we were away Carla kept us updated on how he was getting on and sent lots of photos and videos. I was fully reassured that Cosmo was being well looked after and came home to a very happy cat after our holiday. I would happily have Carla back to sit and would fully recommend to anyone else.
We were away for a week, and Jen took care of our very shy, anxious cats who hide from just about everyone. Muffin became particularly comfortable around Jen, and even accepted some much-needed fuss - that was a lovely surprise! Luna might need a bit more time, but I’m confident Jen will win her over when we’re next away. Thanks Jen!

I was very impressed and pleased after Sam looked after Heidi for a week in which being the first time having Sam She was very professional, sent me video/photos/messages keeping me updated everyday. Sam done an amazing job at keeping Heidi as cool as possible in the awful heatwave even though She liked to play and be brushed. I would definitely use Sam again as left my home clean and tidy and one happy cat.

Chloe was great with my cat. She sent photos and followed my instructions really well. I'm so happy she looked after him. My home was tidy and clean when I got back and Timmy seemed very cosy laying in bed waiting for us to come home. Thank you for looking after him whilst we were away 😊

Helen looked after my two cats while I was on holiday. She quickly became best friends with them, despite their cautious nature - we got lots of photos of belly rubs and cuddles. We came home to two happy cats 🙂 Would definitely recommend and will be using her again!

Thank you Safiyyah!!! You helped me to handle my energetic teenager cat & my nervous old cat perfectly. Safiyyah knows how to handle both and always let me know my cats status after the visit. She let me have a peaceful mind during my vacation. This is my 2nd booking already, definitely 5 stars and will rebook.

Lucia did a wonderful job caring for our cats, feeding them, changing their litter, and making sure everything was done exactly as we asked. She was efficient, caring, and a great communicator, and we would absolutely use her again and highly recommend her to others.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
