About: I'm the world's greatest dog fan, and cats are cool too! I'd love to spend time with your pet and give it the love and attention it needs. I've had dogs in my life from a very young age and understand that they are not just a pet; they are equal members of a family and have their own individual personalities and characteristics. Whenever I see a dog my eyes light-up and I want to interact and talk to it. I have previously been told by some dog-owners that their dog behaves more open and socially towards me when meeting me, and I believe that this is because dogs have a sixth sense; they just know when they are meeting a true lover of dogs. Cats I adore for their often independent behaviour. I have previous experience of caring for friend's and neighbour's cats (both roaming and indoor-cats) and I understand that they also can have their own habits and ways of living. I'm a Stage Manager who works evenings and some afternoons, so I often am available on mornings and early afternoons, and my full day-off is always a Sunday. Missing dogs immensely in my life as I am sadly unable to make the commitment to having one of my own, I hope that I can fill that void by making new furry friends for hang-outs when our schedules allow. I understands that your pets individual needs are paramount and I fully respect the wishes and boundaries of any pet owner in regard to caring for their pet and being in their home. If walking your dog, I will take full and careful responsibility in regard to safety around other animals and the local environment. I have family dogs of my own that do not live with me, and therefore I fully understand the position of the pet owner and can put myself in your shoes of how I would feel to allow someone new to care for my pet.
“We came home to a very happy cat who had been reliably fed, played with, and kept company while we were away. Jamie is a great sitter who takes care to make sure the animals he looks after are interacted with as well as having their basic needs met. This was really important to us at this time of year so that we wouldn't come home to any mess caused by a bored cat!! Thanks Jamie, we appreciate it.”

“Samira looked after our cat for the 5 days we were away and was fantastic throughout. Her communication was top-notch, professional, and she even watered our plants while we were gone. The check-in reports were thorough and detailed, and we came home to a happy, playful cat. Highly recommend!”

“Mel continue to be a reliable sitter for us - we always use her for drop-in visits for our cat while we are away on holiday, and she always visits on time and makes sure that Kona is well looked-after. Thanks Mel!”

“As always, Marta was fantastic with Vinnie. We love that she is super communicative with updates and respect his boundaries. As a rescue, he likes his space and Marta also ways follows his lead with regards to what he is comfy with. We know he is in great hands with her.”

About: I grew up with a couple of mixed breed dogs, I've walked my neighbours dogs as a teenager and also more recently. I enjoyed volunteering at a few local animal rescue centres where I walked dogs needing homes and also played with pups. Over the last few years I have helped out a few friends while they were away by looking after their dogs and also cats. The dogs have at least two one hour walks a day and are cleaned after each walk as paws can get very muddy sometimes! I have been helping with feeding cats while their owner is away. I stay a little while at the owners house to play with the cats, make sure all 3 cats have eaten their food and that they have fresh water. I monitor their well being and make sure they have no injury or sickness (checking poo for dogs).
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and puppies for over 5 years now. I have always had a dog in my family home. Then i started looking after other people’s pets - from family, friends and then others. I have had them stay with me or stayed at their house in the comfort of the pets home and have fed, played and walked them. I currently work as a nurse and it means i have all evening and weekend to spend time with the dogs. I am also able to provide a toilet break at lunchtime if needed . I have a fence around the garden to keep your dog safe. There are also many lovely fields and walking trails where i live to keep your dog busy on their walks.

“Ameera kept us posted throughout with lots of pictures and videos. She definitely looked after our Bessie and followed the agreed food schedule to the letter, wouldn’t change a thing. ”

About: Hello there! I'm Liz, and dogs have been my heart and soul since I was little. There's never been a time in my life without a wagging tail nearby or paw prints on my clothes, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Alex, my partner in both life and now in pet sitting, grew up surrounded by four legged friends, just like me. He has that special touch that makes dogs feel instantly at ease. It's lovely to see how even the shyest pups warm up to those belly rubs. Between us, we've cared for everything from tiny Chihuahuas to gentle giants, including some wonderful rescue dogs who stole our hearts along the way. We're both experienced in caring for dogs with medical needs, having looked after pets requiring medication, special diets and post-surgery care. We understand that your furry family member isn't just a dog, they're your world. Whether your pooch fancies long rambles through the park, cosy cuddles on the sofa with a good fuss, or energetic games in the garden, we'll make sure they feel completely at home with us. Tea and treats for both humans and dogs are always on hand, and we promise to send you plenty of updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your beloved pet is having just as much fun as you are. Taking care of pets fits perfectly into our daily routines. We both enjoy flexible work-from-home setups, ensuring your dog receives plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. Between us, there's always someone available for walks, playtime, or simply a warm lap for cuddles. We easily adapt to your pet's needs, whether in our home or yours. In our home, your dog will enjoy our spacious garden with plenty of exercise and attention. For pets more comfortable in familiar surroundings, we offer in-home care following your routines. Either way, we ensure your furry friend is safe and happy while you're away.
“Piper is reliable and friendly. We booked for a drop in visit, and the girls loved her. We received updates and photos to let us know how the visit was. Looking forward to future bookings.”

Deon is a fantastic sitter, her communication is excellent, her Rover cards were always detailed, she took a lot of photos, my cats were extremely well looked after and most importantly, she's a lovely person who cares passionately about your little furry buddies. I would highly recommend Deon to anyone, she's worth her weight in gold and kibble.

Maya has been an absolute pleasure to work with. From the very beginning, she was so warm, caring and attentive, and she connected incredibly well with both my cat and my bunny. It was our first time using a pet visit service, so naturally we were a little nervous about leaving them, but after meeting Maya for the first time, we immediately felt reassured that they were in safe and hands. Her daily updates, along with the photos of both Buddy and Momo, gave us such peace of mind while we were away. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience and would absolutely recommend Maya to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their pets. We will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future! ❤️
Can’t rate Lara highly enough she deserves a 10 stars! From the outset she was super friendly and clearly very caring. She dropped in twice a day to feed our kittens and always shared photos so we could see how they were getting on. We’ll definitely be booking again thanks Lara!

Elena took wonderful care of my cat, Mochi, while I was away. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and clearly very experienced with animals. Mochi can be shy, but she quickly felt comfortable with Elena — which says a lot. I really appreciated the updates and the care she showed not just to Mochi but to the home as well. I returned to a happy, relaxed, and well-looked-after kitty (full of zoomies!). I wouldn’t hesitate to book Elena again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and loving pet sitter. Thank you so much, Elena 💛

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
