“We came home to two very relaxed and happy kittens after leaving them for the first time over a weekend, all thanks to Jessie! She sent us updates twice a day including photos which really helped put our minds at ease. As well as feeding and playing with our kittens, Jessie took the time to brush them with cool water as the weather was warm ”

“Alex is wonderful! She was so attentive and caring with our Labrador and took the time to meet us before hand to talk through what we needed and ti meet Parker. We will absolutely Alex again. 😊”

“We used Henry for a home visit and dog walk and he was great. His communication around the booking was great and he arrived on time. Henry sent photos and an update after the walk; this is the first time we've used Rover for our puppy so this put our minds at rest. We'll be using Henry again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.”

“Cheryl was lovely with my Dog. Easy and helpful to book with. Trustworthy and kind. Kept me up to date and took some lovely photos. Will definitely use again and recommend :-)”

“Corinne was absolutely fantastic, clearly a dog lover and we felt very happy leaving our pup in her very capable hands. Definitely will use for the future without hesitation. Thank you Corinne.”

“Sophie was amazing with our two cats. She sent lots of pictures which I loved and shared a detailed breakdown of each visit. Sophie was kind enough to water the plants and even put the hoover round (which wasn’t expected but greatly appreciated!). Thanks for everything, we’ll definitely book again”

About: I have grown up with pets my whole life, from hamsters to cats, and more recently I grew up with two lovely black labradors - Charley and Flo. I do miss having dogs around so am keen to share my love for animals with others. Whether it’s a walk around the block or staying over I would love to help out. I fit my schedule around what is best for your dog as I know many have their preferred routine. Whether that’s walking at certain times or eating at 3pm on the dot! Your dog will feel like it is at home. With toilet breaks around the clock and being played with to keep them entertained along with lovely long walks in the local green spaces, I will do my utmost best to make sure they are happy.
“Lucia was extremely confident around my Rhodesian ridgeback Luna, especially for someone quite young and inexperienced. Very impressed at her calmness as Luna was a bit barky at someone new coming to the house at first. Was delighted to receive regular video and picture updates and Lucia gave her plenty of playtime (probably much appreciated compared to me on a laptop all day). In one picture there was stuffing from her toys everywhere, all good for play, but I was impressed it was all cleared by the time I got home. Would recommend, thanks Lucia!”

“Holly is by faw and away the best cat sitter we have ever had. Our cat is incredibbly difficult to look after and isn't particularly friendly. Holly put in a lot of effort to get to know Keo and won her over very quickly. Also, Keo required a daily tablet which has to be given to her orally, which is again, incredibly hard. She dealt with this really well and no trouble at all. We have tried 6 or so sitters and Holly was the only sitter that managed to look after Keo successfully. Thanks so much Holly!!”

“Mel is an absolute amazing cat sitter! We were so happy to book her and knew she would be fantastic from the first meeting- she’s professional and so super caring. Our shy and timid cat loved Mel because she took care and time to get to know her and we were amazed at how playful our cat became when Mel took the time to get to know her over the week she looked after her. Highly recommend and you’ll be so lucky to have e Mel look after your cat, our cat loves her! Thank you Mel!”

About: I have owned three dogs, Frankie, a black Cocker Spaniel, Merlin, a Westie (both lived to 17y.o) and now I have Lottie, an ETT with a big personality who loves food and cuddles. I also had a cat, Max, who initially we thought he was a 'Laura' (!). I also love my pet corn snake, Daisy (yes, she's yellow and white!). For the last 30 years I have been very close to animals and have experienced their different needs, temperaments, health issues and even competed at Crufts. I work shifts so when I agree to look after your pet it means I will be off work so I can give my full attention and love. If you would like me to pop in for toilet break, cuddles and a walk then I will fit it round my schedule with work. I am usually free every day from late afternoons through to the evenings. I have a fenced garden extremely safe garden chuld gates to create peace of mind and safety for the front door. I don't leave food around (especially chocolate!),the house has plenty of space to run around and we have lots of dog toys. There is separate room for peace and quiet at night ir whenever they need it. Secure, hard floor.
“Everything you could hope for. One of the cats isn't exactly friendly so it would have been difficult to pay him too much attention but the other clearly enjoyed a little love and play and they are both still as chonky as when I left so food was definitely had! Jessica keeps you up to date throughout brilliantly and I am glad she is coming back next weekend for more of the same.”

About: I have always had a passion for animals and began dog sitting for a family friend at their house 4 days a week from age 13 - 15. At 16 I began helping a dog walking business in which I would walk and visit dogs in my area. I also have completed work experience at a dog groomers as well as a dog daycare which i completed along side my animal management college course. I absolutely love all animals and currently have 3 cats of my own! I am currently available Monday- Friday, all hours of the day! I am available to pet sit at your home or take your pooch out for however long of a walk they need! Through communication we can figure out what is best for your pup. If they have particular routines or requirements in your home I will ensure to keep those in place. I would also like to meet you and your dog prior, just to ensure that I am the right fit for you!

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - North Hertfordshire
Vicky was wonderful looking after my cats. She sent videos and pictures daily for my peace of mind. I was worried my cats would hide from her as they are scared of strangers. But surprisingly they were around when she was here. She came by at the requested times for drop-ins. I would definitely recommended Vicky and will request her again for next time.

Charlotte did a fab job while we were away - communicated brilliantly, sent photos and videos, and kept us up to date on the habits of our two kitties. Both cats loved her too, which is a lovely bonus! Nothing was too much trouble, and we would definitely ask her to sit the kitties again.
We couldn’t be happier with the care our cat received! 🐾 We were away during some particularly hot weather, and our sitter did an amazing job of making sure he was comfortable and well looked after. He followed everything we’d asked, including opening the windows while he was there to help cool the flat down and giving him the frozen treats we’d left for him. He also went the extra mile by sorting out parcels that arrived while we were away, which we really appreciated and was such a lovely help. It was really reassuring knowing our cat was in such good hands while we were away. Everything we asked was taken care of, and we came home to a very happy and well looked after cat. 😊 We’d absolutely book with him again and would happily recommend him to anyone looking for someone reliable, caring and attentive to look after their cat. Thank you so much! 🐱❤️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
