“Alex is an absolute superstar! Put our slightly nervous 10 month old puppy totally at ease, which allowed us to have some much needed family time out. Could not recommend her highly enough!”

“Julie took wonderful care of my two spoiled dogs and looked after our home like it was her own, even surprising me with some beautiful tulips for our return. I certainly recommend her and hope Julie comes to watch over our dogs again soon. Truly professional.”

“I’ve never used a house sitter before and was nervous, but Cheryl was brilliant. Lots of communication & our dog absolutely loved her, would happily rebook again.”

“Jasraj looked after our doggy Ivy and kept us updated at all times! Jasraj is super friendly, responsive and a great dog sitter. Ivy seemed to have the best time while we were away. Would definitely rebook again! Thank you 😊”

“Vilte has been amazing at looking after Smoulder. She got along well with the other pets at home too and we couldn't be happier having picked her to look after our little family. She's been very professional and active in sending photos with updates, so I was always aware of how my pets are. At the end of the day, I came home to a happy puppy and kitty, so I know they were well looked after.”

About: I have my own family Cockapoo, Oscar, who is 12 years old. We go on daily walks together through the nearby fields and villages. I also grew up with two cats, so I have experience caring for both dogs and cats. I understand how important it is for pets to feel loved, cared for and comfortable, and I would always treat them as if they were my own. I work fully remotely, so I’m able to be at home with pets throughout the day if needed. My schedule is very flexible, and as I manage my own time, I can easily fit walks, feeding and plenty of attention around my work. I care for pets with the same love, attention and patience I would give my own. I’m happy to follow their usual routines, including feeding, walks, playtime and plenty of company. I’ll also make sure they feel comfortable and settled in their home, while keeping owners updated so they know their pets are happy and well cared for.

“Lydia was a fab sitter for Vinnie. Very attentive and he felt very comfortable with her. She gave us lots of pupdates which helped us feel at ease. We will ask her to look after Vinnie again in the future! Thanks Lydia!”

About: I have been taking care of pets as young as I can remember, growing up with golden retrievers. Formally, I have looked after pets for the last 2 years ranging from cats and dogs to even little bunnies. I am a friendly organised and approachable individual who adores all kinds animals, and understands their unique and differing needs. I provide attentive care, lots of cuddles, playtime and long walks, to give owners peace of mind that your pet is in good hands. I am also capable of handling medication for animals, as my own dog is currently ill, so I understand very clearly the requirements of animals who may need a little more help. I am working solely as a pet sitter currently, so have plenty of time in the week to look after your furry friend, whether that’s just a drop in to go for a walk or pet sit for a weekend, I am incredibly available and ready to work. I treat every pet with patience and care, they all have unique needs that I ensure I play close attention to. Being an organised and attentive individual, any special requirements you have I will be sure to follow through.
“Jodie was a fantastic sitter! She left our house spotless and we came back to a very happy cat. We really appreciated her updates and felt at ease whilst we were away knowing Humphrey was in her care.”

About: Hi I’m Amber I have worked as a live in Animal care assistant, I fostered & cared for many cats & dogs I currently work as a patient care Assistant at Davies Veterinary Specialists. I enjoy pet sitting around my work hours and enjoy making pets comfortable and happy whilst their owners are away. I look after both cats & dogs and the occasional small animals I can generally care for all animals overlong weekends, I can do week stays if animals are able to be left whilst I work, my typical work shifts are 8 hours. Around those hours all pets will be walked, fed & have lots of cuddles. I will always stick to the routine owners would like and keep the pets routine, as I find it keeps the pets very happy and less stressed. Looking after animals is my passion in life, I love caring for animals in my work & outside of work. To be given the opportunity to care for someone else’s pets is an honour and I love making every pet feel as happy and comfortable as they can be. Unfortunately I don’t offer home boarding as my dog is elderly and generally prefers his own company. When staying at a sitters home, I will always make sure every dog is never unattended in the garden. I will always give every pet a little health check every morning and update owners regularly if they are concerned about their pets. I have a dog first aid certificate which is due for renewal as the end of the year. I will always keep the pets environment as safe and clean as possible and will make sure to not disturb their environment. I will happily walk your dogs as many times as they need/want, and offer as much playtime as they would like.

“Agnes looked after my English Bulldog Hugo for two nights and I couldn’t have been happier with the care she gave him! From the very beginning, she was fantastic to communicate with and asked lots of thoughtful questions, which really showed she had taken the time to understand Hugo’s needs and routine. While I was away, she sent plenty of lovely updates and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind and made it so much easier to relax knowing he was in such good hands. When I got home, the house was absolutely spotless too, which was a lovely bonus! I wouldn’t hesitate to book Agnes again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone caring, reliable and attentive to look after their pet!”

“Jessie-Lyn stayed at our house for a week to look after our 2 cats. We have 2 cats that hate each other and must be kept apart both inside and out, so it was no easy task for her, especially with one cat that doesnt like strangers. She has done an amazing job. Both cats were well fed, looked after and indeed kept apart. The house was also absolutely spotless when we got back Would definitely use Jessie-Lyn again and would also recommend her to others”

“Absolutely fabulous! Holly looked after Milo in our home for a week, and we simply cannot fault her. We received daily updates, the house was left exactly as she’d found it, and, above all else, Milo was happy and clearly very well cared for. Holly really is a lovely person, and you couldn’t ask for a better or more considerate pet sitter. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.”

I am almost always available on weekends especially on Sunday's but i am willing to work around to help look after your pets I’m a pet owner myself and have a small dog who loves spending time in our fenced backyard and going on daily walks. Vilte was really friendly and very conscientious about our dogs needs and was brilliant at staying in touch throughout the visit, as well as sending photos and videos. She left the house exactly as we left it and even went to the effort of stripping the bedsheet. Would be delighted to have her look after Willow again

Louise did a fantastic job taking care of our dog when we were on holiday for a week. She came over before the sit to meet Henry and chat about the sit. As time got closer she reached out to get information about Henry’s routine and was very thorough in making sure she understood my notes. She came over the day we left and we went over last minute details. We felt very safe knowing she was taking care of him. While we were away, she kept us updated with pictures and comments on the day they had. Henry really took to her and looked like he was having a great time! When we had gotten home, Louise had cleaned the house and left it better then when she arrived. Amazing job, we would love to have her back!

Charlotte was wonderful with our little cat Peach. She took the time to sit with her in her favourite spots in the sun and made sure to give her quality playtime over the 4 day period she spent at our home. We really appreciated the extra care and attention and will be rebooking without a doubt. :)

Anna was amazing! Our doggie Ivy is a super nervous and reactive dog and Anna managed Ivy to open up to her and show her soft side during the dog sit. Before booking started Anna came around twice to discuss any questions, learn about Ivy etc. Anna was super friendly, professional and sent loads of pictures while we were away. Hope Ivy has plenty more dog sits with Anna! Thank you 😊

I was looking for someone who could help with all my animals while my husband and I was away. This would be the first time we had left them with a non family member so I was a bit worried at first of finding the right person. I came across Laura and after meeting her, I was happy that she was able to help with my animals. We kept in touch finalising details. She was very attentive to all there needs and was very patient with them especially Ronni who is a bit of a spoilt girl and likes things her way ! We touched base every day and Laura would send me daily pictures of there walks and snuggles which definitely made me feel happier about leaving them. I’m so glad that I came across Laura. I would definitely use Laura in the future. Thankyou so much for the care and love you gave them x

- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Hertfordshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. - 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
