“We were a bit apprehensive as first time Rover users but we need not have worried at all. June was absolutely lovely and brilliant with our cat Merlin. She stayed for 4 nights in our house with him and they formed an almost instant bond, helped by the fact that she met Merlin the week before to make sure he would be okay. She sent lots of pictures every day and he seemed so happy and chilled, it put our minds at ease. We were so pleased to see him so happy and calm and cuddly. Would highly recommend June and we hope she is able to look after Merlin again in the future.”

“This is the second time we’ve used Jordan & Leticia, and we’ll definitely use them again in the future. Good communication throughout, our dog was happy and settled when we got back and our house was left clean and tidy.”

“Zhané was great! She looked after our dog for the afternoon into early evening and sent some pics/ videos as the time went on. Ritz seemed really comfortable with her and I’m sure he’d be very happy to see her again :)”

“This is the first time we used the Rover App and first time we used a dog sitter! We were nervous to find the right person to look after our baby pup (11 weeks old) but Heidi was brilliant. She arrived early to learn more about our puppy’s needs, she took the pup out at regular intervals so there were no accidents and she was gentle, warm and fun! My pup felt safe around her and we were relieved we found someone we could trust and we will definitely ask Heidi to help us again in the future. 100% recommended!”

“Emma stayed at our house to look after Benji and Bella, and she did a great job. She was sharing photos with us and telling us how they are getting on. Thank you so much for looking after our little ones😊”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs, they have always been a part of my family, we currently have two and one is a rescue. But since moving out of my family home I really miss having dogs around which is why I’m more than happy to help out looking after others! I often help out with friends and families dogs too from walking to house sitting whilst on holiday. They all range in size and age so I have varied experience with all different dogs. I currently work as a surveyor but I have the flexibility to work from home 3 days a week so plenty of time to help with your dogs. I’m usually not available on Tuesday and Thursdays, and If I’m not available on the weekends this will be shown in my calendar. I keep my calendar kept as up to date as possible. Looking after dogs in the owners house, I will be able to follow advice and rules of their house as I’ve done this multiple times with friends/ families dogs. I basically mirror the routine that the owner follows so the dog can be relaxed as possible.

About: Hi! My name is Gabby and I’m a newly qualified vet living in Hatfield. I love all animals and I’m very experienced working with and caring for dogs and cats. I’ve grown up with dogs and I have a very active 2 year old Labrador at home who loves long walks and playing with his ball! My flatmate at university has an elderly cocker spaniel who I’ve helped look after for 2 years so I’m comfortable looking after all sorts of dogs with different temperaments and needs. I’m also able to administer any medications your pet may need whilst you are away. I have variable availability during the week and weekends, although I may need to leave in the day for a couple of hours. I’m very happy to house sit for up to a week, and available for dog walking and doggy day care. I am very flexible for July and August and available for most weekdays and weekends with notice. I am able to dedicate the majority of the day to your pet and fit in to their needs. Having worked with dogs and cat for over 5 years, I have lots of experience with different temperaments of pets. I’m confident administering any medications that they may need and with give them however much exercise they require. I will try as best I can to make your pet comfortable in their own home and fit into their routine!
“We would thoroughly recommend Georgina. She took such great care of our Basset boy, Ronnie. He instantly trusted her and that out our minds at rest. Georgina kept in contact to let us know what he was up to and when he was settled. First class service.”

“Jessica looked after our dog for the weekend and she did a fantastic job, took her out for lovely walks and kept us updated every day, she also left the house in the same condition we had it, so we will definitely consider booking her again to house sit!”

About: Hi, I'm Suzanne, a lifelong dog lover and dedicated pet sitter who understands that your furry friends are family (also, I am a data analyst and I work from home so I have most weekdays, weeknights and weekends free). Whether it's belly rubs, long walks, or cozy cuddle sessions, I treat every pup as if they were my own. With years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, I know how to keep tails wagging and paws happy. While I would love to have a dog of my own, I can’t commit to full-time pet ownership at the moment—so instead, I’m here to share my love for dogs by helping care for yours. Beyond basic care, I’m here to make your dog's day extra special—whether it’s playtime, keeping up with training routines, or providing the companionship they deserve while you're away. Let me help you give your dog the love and attention they need, no matter your schedule. My services include: Walks tailored to your dog's energy level Playtime and enrichment activities Feeding and medication administration House tasks like watering plants or collecting mail Feel free to reach out—I can’t wait to meet your four-legged family member. I'm very flexible as I work from home and don't have to be online all the time. Also, my weekends are usually free, including holidays. All the dogs on my profile are borrowed (I have had more, but usually we are too busy throwing balls and have no time to take pictures). Some of them have been with me for weeks, some I have walked every morning for years. They are all friends for life. I have a fenced garden. I usually take the dogs out 3-4 times a day, including a long walk in the morning. I am a poor sleeper, so there is usually only 7 hours between the last walk in the evening and the next one in the morning. I do not have any pets of my own (yet!) but I have plenty of experience of making friends with new (borrowed) dogs.

“Victoria did some checkins for my little one, and she was fantastic, sent regular updates and thought about Shadows needs because of the heat, taking her out to make sure she got lots of fresh air too. Fantastic communication throughout. Would definitely recommend! Thank you so much.”

“Jo was great. She took the time to meet our puppy before the day she was puppy sitting and was really careful to understand her routine, food etc. Communication was great and she sent lovely photos during the day so we could see that the puppy was having fun. See you again soon, Jo!”

Haiqing is such a brilliant help with our dog Rizzo. She is always reliable, friendly, quick to respond and sends us lots of cute updates of the time they spend together - which Rizzo loves! We always have total peace of mind when Rizzo is with Haiqing. Thank you!

June really looked after Shaka well. She kept us updated daily with photos of his walks, his general activity and was very quick to respond to WhatsApp messages. She showed caring and kindness to Shaka, and he enjoyed her company-even lying on her feet when relaxing! She put our minds at ease knowing our old doggy, and our home, were in good hands while we were away. Thank you, June 😊

Kirsty is absolutely fabulous! We have a busy household with lots of animals and she handled it all with ease. The dogs adored her, especially our very nervous tamaskan - he doesn't take easily to people but he fell in love with Kirsty instantly. This was great for us, and her calm and confident presence meant we could relax and enjoy our time away without worrying about anyone or anything back at home. We returned to a pristine home (thank you so much for this xx) and a really happy, well-looked after crew. Who could ask for more! Thank you so much Kirsty, you did a wonderful job.

I will defo be using safiyyah for the future, felt super trustworthy, constant communication/photos which i loved to see my pup and Safiyya getting along so well! everyone is so specific/different styles or routines with their pets which i really am haha! and i felt like she listened and really cared at making koda feel like he can trust her too…would highly recommend!😌

Fiona has been outstanding with my puppy Maggie! She has been patient and really helped Maggie with training and learning to settle. It gives me such peace of mind leaving Maggie with Fiona and I can concentrate on my work with no worries. I have used Fiona a few times now and will continue to do so, her and Maggie now have a wonderful relationship!

Shyanne was absolutely amazing! She was so flexible with our schedule and her communication was quick, clear, and super helpful. We always felt confident that our pup, Otis, was in the best hands. He had such a great time with her, and it was obvious how much care and attention she gave him. We couldn’t have asked for a better dogsitter, highly recommend Shyanne!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in St. Albans choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
