About: As someone who grew up with at least one pet in the house (dogs, cats, birds, lizards, and fish), I have a lifelong love of animals and genuinely enjoy caring for them. For several years, I provided pet care for people in my apartment complex, gaining experience with anxious pets as well as those requiring medication and extra attention. Bonus: I'm a marine biology graduate, so please let me watch your fish <3 My schedule is currently very flexible! I have open availability throughout the week, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Because I won't be starting my master's program until September, I'm able to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening! I'm happy to work with your pet's routine to make sure they receive the care and attention they need. I am flexible to meet the needs of each animal in their own home. I want to ensure each animal is as happy and cared for as possible.
“We had such a great experience! Our dogs, Stormi and Skye, were so well cared for — we received regular updates and lots of lovely photos every day, which really put my mind at ease while we were away. It was clear they were happy, safe, and having a wonderful time. Highly recommend!”

“Ariadne stayed with Romy for the weekend and we found both Romy and the house in great shape when we returned. We very much appreciated the regular communication. Thanks a lot Ariadne, we hope Romy's demanding nature hasn't put you off to come again in the future!”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs, they have always been a part of my family, we currently have two and one is a rescue. But since moving out of my family home I really miss having dogs around which is why I’m more than happy to help out looking after others! I often help out with friends and families dogs too from walking to house sitting whilst on holiday. They all range in size and age so I have varied experience with all different dogs. I currently work as a surveyor but I have the flexibility to work from home 3 days a week so plenty of time to help with your dogs. I’m usually not available on Tuesday and Thursdays, and If I’m not available on the weekends this will be shown in my calendar. I keep my calendar kept as up to date as possible. Looking after dogs in the owners house, I will be able to follow advice and rules of their house as I’ve done this multiple times with friends/ families dogs. I basically mirror the routine that the owner follows so the dog can be relaxed as possible.
“Jewel was fantastic. We came home to a very happy, relaxed dog, and she kept us updated with a lovely photo while we were away. The house was spotless and tidy when we returned. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”

“Haiqing is such a brilliant help with our dog Rizzo. She is always reliable, friendly, quick to respond and sends us lots of cute updates of the time they spend together - which Rizzo loves! We always have total peace of mind when Rizzo is with Haiqing. Thank you!”

“Lucia was a great help with our dog Rey, always responsive and keeping us updated during her stay. I didn't have any worries and we came home to a very happy and well-cared for pup. I would definitely recommend her services!”

“Georgina was a super new friend for Zara. She turned up on time and took her out for two walks and mad sure she was well looked after. The best sign of all is when Zara didn't want her to leave. I'd highly recommend Georgina.”

“Zhane was great, very responsive communication leading up to the date. Our labs aren’t the easiest as they have a big gap in ages and the younger one is very boisterous. Zhane got to know them both and handled them brilliantly, they were sad to see her leave! I totally recommend Zhane.”

About: I’ve had pets since the age of 5 and have experience caring for cats, dogs, fish and small animals such as hamsters. I’m also an experienced horse rider, which has given me confidence with animals of all sizes and temperaments. I truly love animals and am looking to spend more time caring for them. I currently have two kittens, who I absolutely adore. I work from home most days, which gives me flexibility and availability throughout the day for pet care. I’m also widely available at weekends, making it easy to accommodate regular bookings or last-minute requests. I provide pet care in the owner’s home, where pets are happiest and can stick to their usual routine. I’m respectful and tidy in the home and always follow feeding instructions, medication needs and any household rules. I take real care in making sure pets feel relaxed, safe and well loved while you’re away.

“Victoria did some checkins for my little one, and she was fantastic, sent regular updates and thought about Shadows needs because of the heat, taking her out to make sure she got lots of fresh air too. Fantastic communication throughout. Would definitely recommend! Thank you so much.”

“This is the second time we’ve used Jordan & Leticia, and we’ll definitely use them again in the future. Good communication throughout, our dog was happy and settled when we got back and our house was left clean and tidy.”

“Julia was great with our dog, Rey. She was well-taken care of and very happy throughout the stay. Julia always responded promptly when I checked in and she sent photos and videos of Rey enjoying her time. The house was kept clean and orderly and she very kindly put out our bins as well. There was an issue with our door lock on the last day but she dealt with it very quickly. We will definitely ask her to house sit for Rey in the future!”

“Emma stayed at our house to look after Benji and Bella, and she did a great job. She was sharing photos with us and telling us how they are getting on. Thank you so much for looking after our little ones😊”

“Emma was brilliant looking after our nervous dog Simba. She made sure he was fed and exercised and kept him comfy with lots of cuddles. She sent us regular updates and pics so we were happy as well. Will definitely rebook her and recommend her services.”

“I would 100% recommend Evie to look after your pet. Evie came to dog sit out 6 year old working cocker spaniel for 3 nights and did a fantastic job. He has only ever stayed with family and he can be anxious/has a few issues to be aware of. Evie came and met with Milo before and he seemed to warm to her instantly, she was very understanding when we explained about him and by also having a working cocker spaniel herself she knows the breed well. Evie’s communication was great, she was very responsive and sent regular updates. She clearly loves dogs and I could relax being away knowing she was taking good care of him. Milo was happy and settled when we got home and she left our house so clean and tidy. I will definitely be using Evie again to look after our dog!”
About: Hi! I’ve grown up with dogs all my life. I have had dogs of all sizes from large labradors to tiny Pomeranians. I have a dog of my own named Winston who is sweet, cuddly and fully trained. He is a little shy but once he gets to know your dog, they will be best friends 😊 I am fully available to give all my attention to your lovely dog. I am an early bird too so I can walk your dog before, during or after work 😄 I live in a 2 story house which gives dogs a lot of space to move around. We have a closed fence in our backyard with artificial grass but as a preference, I like to take dogs outside for a walk or to our front yard where there is real grass. We have a lot of dog toys to choose from and fresh water when needed.

Emma has been caring for my dog Chaves for almost twenty days, and he adores her — happy when she arrives, sad when she leaves. She keeps Chaves at ease, and keeps me updated with messages and pictures. Beyond being wonderful with dogs, she’s genuinely great company — I always enjoy chatting with her. Highly recommend!

Jo was very attentive to our dog, Charley. She was well prepared ensuring that she had all the information about routines and temperament, which meant that I was able to leave fairly promptly. Jo spent lots of time comforting and engaging our dog, and provided many updates, photos and videos. We felt that Jo genuinely cared for Charley and she also left our house spotless. I would recommend Jo for any pet-related tasks, and would definitely use Jo again!!

Kirsty came and sat with our dogs for a few hours and gave them their dinner. It was too hot for a walk so Kirsty gave them a cooling lick mat and kept them calm. They are both older dogs so it is really comforting knowing someone is keeping them company and looking out for them. Photos and updates were sent and the dogs seemed very relaxed. The house was exactly as we left it, everything washed up and tidied away. Would definitely recommend Kirsty, and look forward to her coming again.

Haiqing is such a brilliant help with our dog Rizzo. She is always reliable, friendly, quick to respond and sends us lots of cute updates of the time they spend together - which Rizzo loves! We always have total peace of mind when Rizzo is with Haiqing. Thank you!

June really looked after Shaka well. She kept us updated daily with photos of his walks, his general activity and was very quick to respond to WhatsApp messages. She showed caring and kindness to Shaka, and he enjoyed her company-even lying on her feet when relaxing! She put our minds at ease knowing our old doggy, and our home, were in good hands while we were away. Thank you, June 😊

I will defo be using safiyyah for the future, felt super trustworthy, constant communication/photos which i loved to see my pup and Safiyya getting along so well! everyone is so specific/different styles or routines with their pets which i really am haha! and i felt like she listened and really cared at making koda feel like he can trust her too…would highly recommend!😌

Fiona has been outstanding with my puppy Maggie! She has been patient and really helped Maggie with training and learning to settle. I have used Fiona a few times now and will continue to do so, her and Maggie now have a wonderful relationship!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in St. Albans choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
