“Zhane was excellent: Had instant connection with “Bear” our Bernese Mountain Dog. Was on time, asked all the right questions & did all that we expected - plus. It was evident that Zhane loved dogs & knew how to treat them. We will use Zhane again. Excellent! Roy Butler”

“Becca is absolutely fantastic. She’s looked after our 10 week old cocker spaniel Maisie a few times now and is so wonderful with her. Maisie absolutely adores her and we love the updates. Friendly, communicative and clearly super knowledgeable. Would highly recommend and Maisie can’t wait to see her again!”

“Ellen is a wonderful sitter — Chaves has stayed with her more than once and she's coming back again this week, which speaks for itself. She did a meet and greet first, asked all the right questions, and kept me updated the whole time. Easygoing, caring, and reliable. Chaves and I are lucky to have found her!☺️🐶”

“Cora was reliable, easy to communicate with, and took really good care of our dog. Our dog was happy, comfortable, and clearly well looked after the whole time. We felt confident knowing our dog was safe and in good hands. Would definitely recommend - thank you!”

“Katarina is an absolute gem. If you are looking for someone to care for your fur baby, I highly recommend Katarina. I was so nervous about leaving our pup all day with someone new, but Katarina was so amazing with Mac from the very first interaction, which eased my nerves massively. I left our pup feeling reassured that he would be well cared for. To ease my nerves further, Katarina kept me updated throughout the day with some stunning photos. Actually, I should note that communication before, during and after was absolutely fantastic! Katarina was really responsive, understanding and flexible when I requested pick up to be later than originally planned, she has a genuine love for animals that really shines through. Mac was taken on some beautiful scenic walks during his time with Katarina. Katarina really listened and catered to my worries (i.e. Mac not going off lead). We feel so lucky to have found someone who will look after our boy with the same love and caution that we do. We will definitely be using Katarina's services again; Mac can't wait for his next visit!”

“Jess is a lovely dog sitter. She looked after our teething puppy who is a lot of work at this stage! Harvey seemed to enjoy his time with Jess and even gained more confidence on the walks and around the house. Jess sent us regular updates and Harvey's photos.”

“Amy was a dream! I trusted her instantly with both my dog and my house, he was looked after soooo well and enjoyed all the cuddles. Amy sent lots and lots of photos and it was very clear Angus has a new best friend. 🐶❤️”

“Emma stayed and looked after our usually pretty unfriendly cat however instantly charmed her, would absolutely recommend her as a pet sitter. We received lots of photos of Sammy looking content and cared for and the house was spotless when we got home. Not sure whether to be offended or not that my cat likes Emma more than she likes me!”

I live with one friendly cat who will most likely keep to herself. I have a green garden with a fence and I live close to many parks perfect for dog walks.
“Rachel was great, very responsive and took the time to understand all the details about how to manage both our dogs. Unfortunately, our older lab Maia, had to be put down a couple of days before, so it was the first time Cal had been on his own without her or us. It wasn’t the easiest weekend, but Rachel handled it all very patiently. We would definitely recommend her and would book her again.”

Sacha and Cristina were absolutely brilliant with our dog and cat, whilst we were away for the Christmas break. Our dog is reactive and has a number of needs (he’s usually nervous when left with sitters) BUT he absolutely loved having them come to stay in our home. We had constant updates, and our minds were at ease the whole trip. When we got back home, the home was spotless. We highly recommend both to be trusted to sit your furry members of your family. We can’t wait to use them again, I know the boys will miss them ⭐

Becca is absolutely fantastic. She’s looked after our 10 week old cocker spaniel Maisie a few times now and is so wonderful with her. Maisie absolutely adores her and we love the updates. Sarah was amazing when she stayed at my house to look after my dog. She listened to all his care instructions, was reallt patient with him and made him feel super comfortable. I also got lots of photo updates from him relaxing and out on walks. I would highly recommend!! Thanks so much Sarah :)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Dacorum walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dacorum choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
