“Julie is a lovely woman who really cares about dogs. Both our boys were happy and bouncy when we came back and we could tell they were well looked after. She's very easy to deal with and the dogs seemed to love her.”

“Ryan was great! He sent lots of updates and photos and I could tell my dogs were very cared for. He stayed at our home with them and was very respectful, he went above and beyond at the end of his stay. Much appreciated. Will definitely be looking to book in the future!”

“Sophie is calm, caring and considerate and looked after our cocker spaniel over a weekend. She was respectful of our house and Nevis enjoyed her company. We returned home to a very relaxed dog. We are so pleased to have found her and have already booked her for our holiday in September.”

“El looked after our cat , staying in our house over 3 nights. We were very pleased with everything El did. We met with her ahead of the stay and she was reliable and easy to contact throughout. Our cat is quite old and from photos, videos and the way she ate all her food, shows the good care El provided. I had told El we had stopped putting down water for our cat as she never drinks it. El did leave a bowl of water down and our cat continued to drink from it after our return. So thank you El for gently showing me I was wrong! El has completed level 2 in animal care at college and it showed in how she gently introduced herself to our cat. We would recommend her for cat sitting anytime. Thank you El!”

About: As an animal lover with many years of hands-on experience caring for pets I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, happy, and well looked after while you’re away. I’ve owned and cared for cats since I was a teenager, including several litters of kittens, and I currently look after my son’s cats whenever he is away on business or holiday. This has given me extensive experience with feeding, playtime, companionship, litter care, and making sure cats feel comfortable in their own home. I also have experience walking and caring for friends’ dogs while they have been on holiday or attending events such as weddings, so only away a long day. This has included regular twice-daily walks, feeding, and giving owners complete peace of mind that their dogs are receiving the care, exercise, and attention they need. Friends and family trust me with both their homes and their much-loved pets because I am reliable, responsible, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply a calm and reassuring presence, I will care for them as if they were my own. I would be available 7 days a week. If you wanted dogs walked twice a day I can do that, plus feeding of course! Cats I would expect if you were away that I would visit twice every day. Staying as long as you require but no less than half an hour to give time for a cuddle and chat. Walks can be as long or as short as your dog requires and I am happy to walk for up to an hour or more. I am happy to drive to parks your pet is used to and I live near a very lovely area which is popular for doggies. Or if you have an older dog which requires short walks or even time just at home in the garden and some fussing, also happy to do that. Cats I am more than happy to spend time with them beyond just coming into feed them if that is what you would want. If they like being groomed or playing with their toys I love to do that. I would be happy to administer medication to your pet, after talking to you about the way you usually do so. I would expect to have up to date health information supplied to me, with details of your vet, any allergies or special requirements. In an emergency I would call the vet and of course yourselves. I drive so would easily be able to get your pet to the vet at anytime. I do not panic and would make your pet safe and comfortable whilst being advised by the vet on phone or getting them directly to the vet. I am not squeamish so if your pet was out on a walk with me and trod on anything that may cause a problem I am more than able to deal with minor injuries and then get it checked out at vets. I offer a friendly, DBS checked, dependable, and caring service, with regular updates and photos if you’d like them, so you can relax knowing your furry family members are in safe hands. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I have taken early retirement and am available at anytime that best suits you and your pets. I am happy to visit twice a day or spend time with your pet. I cannot accommodate in my own home. I would of course fit in with what you needed for your pet/s be they cats or dogs.
“5 ⭐️ isn’t enough for Magnificent Martha! Kimchi and Nesquik had wonderful time being looked after by her. Martha is caring and attentive. She also took some lovely photos of both pets whilst in her care. Couldn’t be happier.”

About: I've had cats ever since I was born - I currently have one sitting on my legs as I type this. I know how to work with cats I love them all - especially the mean ones. I have two rescues myself who I saved off the streets of Birmingham. They were totally feral but are now happy and thriving. I've helped with dogs all my life, my partner has a very old Rat Terrier (Dewey) who I look after in his old years, give him his medication, bathe him, walk him etc. I love to walk and can walk for miles everyday so I'm looking for dogs I can take on my walks with me to give them some enrichment (and me some company). I work 9 - 5 from home, so I can take your dog on a walk from 6 pm onwards every weekday and any time on the weekends. I can also look after your pets inside your home as long as I get there before 9 am so I can work from your place as well. I've cared for pets at their owner's home many times. As long as you let me know what needs to be done, it will be done!

About: Hi, I’m Gabi! I’ve grown up with dogs all my life, so being around animals has always been second nature to me. I absolutely love spending time with dogs of all ages, sizes and personalities, and I’m equally comfortable caring for cats too. Over the years I’ve regularly looked after pets for family and friends, from daily walks and overnight stays to longer periods of care while they’re away. I’m experienced in looking after pets with additional needs, including administering medication and caring for diabetic pets, so you can feel confident your pet is in safe and capable hands. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch or simply enjoys plenty of cuddles and company, I’ll make sure they receive the care, attention and affection they deserve. I know every pet is different, so I’m happy to stick to their usual routine to help them feel happy and settled. I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet, and I’ll always care for them as if they were my own. I also love keeping owners updated with plenty of photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your furry friend is having a great time. I look forward to meeting you and your pet! I work full-time Monday to Friday (9am–5pm), but if you’re local, I’m often able to pop in during my lunch break for walks, toilet breaks or check-ins. After work, I head straight to your pet, so they’ll have plenty of company and care throughout the evening. At weekends, I have much more flexibility and can offer longer walks, extended visits, overnight stays or more frequent drop-ins. If you’re unsure whether your schedule would work with mine, feel free to get in touch—I’m always happy to discuss your pet’s needs and see if I can help. I understand that staying in your pet’s own home helps them feel relaxed and comfortable while you’re away. I’ll follow their usual routine, including feeding, walks, medication and bedtime, to help them feel settled. I’ll treat your home with the utmost respect, keeping it clean, tidy and secure throughout my stay. I’ll also send regular photo and video updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is happy and well cared for.

I have a fenced garden with roommates who previously owned dogs in the house and a large living room, bedroom and kitchen to relax in.

I love animals and am happiest in their company. I love to walk for miles and miles with them or sit and have a cuddle. Although I don’t have any formal qualifications I am interested in animal behaviour and observant when meeting others on dog walks to ensure the dogs are comfortable. I am thorough in following all pet care instructions provided to ensure your animals are safe and happy in my care. Please reach out if you would like to chat! I currently work full time over 4 days and most of my week is spent working from home. I have a son who is starting primary school and so have plenty of time for decent walks during the day! Ensuring the the pet is always settled and happy before I leave

“Would give 10 stars if I could. Caitlin was amazing - my little guy became quite unwell while I was away, and Caitlin was so diligent and caring. She contacted me immediately when she noticed abnormal behaviour and even ended up taking him to hospital at night where he ended up being admitted for emergency treatment. Caitlin made an incredibly stressful situation so much easier for me, and I cannot thank her enough. I will 100% be using her again in future.”

“First time using Charlotte and her boy, they were both amazing and really looked after our two cheeky boys and house so well! We will definitely have them back next time! Xx ”
About: I’ve taken care of quite a few of my friend’s when they’re away. It’s always nice being able to sit them as growing up, my mum wouldn’t allow a pet in her house but now that I have moved out, It makes every moment with them that more special! At the moment, I am working part time on a couple days of the week, it varies week to week but shall always have free time majority of the week. I have quite a large back garden, it is all smooth loose rock but plenty of space to roam with a balcony. My room is also the biggest in the house and there’s a nice warm corner in my room which they can relax. Being in Winchester, there are a lot of open fields and parks around so going out for walks will never be short of enjoyment.
About: I have a four years old dog, I've got experiences of training and taking care of them, from house training to walking. I enjoy every moment staying with these lovely furry friends. I'm currently working part time, mostly only up to two days per week, hence I have lots of time taking care of their daily routine. Most of the time I will be satying at home for the whole day. I have a fenced garden to make sure there's no possibility of dogs escaping from the garden. The house has carpet with spaces for running around is good for their joints.

Ryan was great! He sent lots of updates and photos and I could tell my dogs were very cared for. He stayed at our home with them and was very respectful, he went above and beyond at the end of his stay. Much appreciated. Will definitely be looking to book in the future!

A huge thank you to Hannah and her partner for taking such wonderful care of Raya while we were away. Raya was clearly very well looked after—she was calm, happy, and completely relaxed when we returned, which says it all. Our house was also left in perfect condition. We couldn't have asked for more and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for caring and reliable house sitters. 😀

Alison was lovely! I’m so grateful to her for fitting us in around other things -she was very dutiful in her care of our dog who had had some medical issues shortly before we went away. Alison seemed to keep on top of this extra complication and our dog was well and happy! She is very respectful, considerate and thoughtful - I’d feel confident to use Alison as a dog sitter again!

Isabella was brilliant with our 2 dogs aged 4 and 1. One is a young and recently rescued dog who is not used to the outside world and so not the easiest to look after but this didn’t phase Isabella. She was able to entertain them with play, lick mats, snuffle mats and walks / garden time. Both dogs were happy, relaxed and calm for the whole weekend. Bella was also punctual and I liked the fact that she messaged me a few times before so I was confident she had fully absorbed the dog sitting plan. She was happy to follow the detailed instructions I left about their routine and management, feeding, walking etc. She has a calm yet confident demeanour with the dogs and is also a very pleasant person. I would not hesitate to book her again.

Vivienne was absolutely lovely. She was kind and compassionate with my 16 year old Border Terrier Betty who has dementia and can have accidents indoors. I felt totally confident with Vivienne looking after Betty and my home. I definitely recommend Vivienne 100 %

However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wycombe choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
