Huge thank you to Katie. This was the first time i have tried to trust someone with my baby Thor. Katie is kind and has a lovely way about her and is clearly passionate and caring. Was on time, kept me updated throughout the day with pics and my dog was happy when I got home. He must have enjoyed himself , slept and enjoyed his time with Katie. It’s such a big thing firstly to trust someone with your fur baby but also to have someone in your house. I would highly recommend Katie and will definitely book again. Thank you!

About: Hi, I'm Holly! 😇 I am an experienced house/ pet sitter and dog walker, with 20 years of experience both professionally as well as caring for my own pets. I am naturally empathetic and caring by nature, and of course an animal lover.🐶 I recently returned from a year abroad travelling and living in Australia, where I did numerous house and pet sits, looking after both cats and dogs of varying sizes and breeds. Now that I am home, I am keen to continue, providing quality care back in my home town! I have been a volunteer dog walker for many years for charity 'The Cinnamon Trust', walking a dog for an elderly and terminally ill lady on a weekly basis. Beyond this, I have taken care of many pets of my own throughout the years including cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, chickens, lizards, millipedes, and fish. My family also foster rabbits for the RSPCA - which I helped out with when I was living at home. 🐰 I am patient, soft natured, and calm, with rest assured that your furry friends are in responsible and attentive hands. I am experienced with: ✨Puppy & Kitten care ✨Senior pets ✨Nervous/ Anxious pets ✨Separation Anxiety ✨High energy dogs As an avid runner, I love the outdoors and being out in nature so I am more than happy to take your dog along with me. Whether they enjoy just a potter outdoors or longer walks, I'm happy to tailor walks to their requirements and energy levels. 🍃 I am happy to discuss more about my experiences or answer any questions you may have - so please do not hesitate to get in touch! Holly 🐾 I currently have full availability for pet care after recently returning to the UK from living abroad. I am keen to continue caring for pets here in my home town😇🐶✨ I can care for pets in your home, including overnight, day board, walks and in everything in between and in some instances, care at my own home.

About: For the entirity of my life I have known I want to have a job that involves working with animals. I have truly experienced so much when it comes to them, and I feel very fortunate to have had many of these experiences. On a trip to Venice when I was younger I helped the police catch a dog that was on the loose, to eventually return it to the owner. When visiting family in the Cayman Islands I helped out with rescuing and rehoming dogs who had been badly treated by their owners. During my Duke of Edinburgh I volunteered at the Tarbay Kennels and Cattery for 6 months which I then continued doing weekly for much longer because I loved being around the dogs. My love didn't stop here though, after I finished my GCSE's I decided to do a course in Animal Management (level 3 extended diploma) at Berkshire College of Agriculture which I completed with a DMM (Distinction Merit Merit). During this time I also went to South Africa to Volunteer with conservation work in the Kruger National park. I was also doing occasional dogsitting for a lovely family near Warfield while I was at college, which also turned into overnight housesitting sometimes. After returning from university I have decided that I would love to go back to working with animals and have been walking an elderly lab twice a week, which I absolutely love doing and look forward to every week! Finally I have 3 years of experience working in an exotic fish shop, so if you have a fish tank I can also take care of it while you are on holiday! I'm currently doing a lot of part time work which is mainly over the weekends so I have plenty of free time during the week! On weekends I am doing both bar work and serving tea and coffees at a pop up stand both at Reading Hockey Club. I like to fill up my week with plenty of different dog walks that keep me out and about so I will make time for you! For Dog Walking: I am very comfortable with walking dogs of all sorts and will keep them on the lead at all times unless you specify that they are fine to go off the lead. As a person who cares deeply about the environment, I would like to be within cycling range of your house and will not transport dogs anywhere in a vehicle. Because of this its ideal if you have a park or a green area within walking distance of your house for your dog/s to have the optimum experience. I prefer to use your equipment for dog walks as the dogs are more familiar with it and so will be more comfortable (this includes lead, harness (if required) and treats, and preferably poo bags too). Personally I hate mixing dogs with other dogs from different families so I will only walk multiple dogs if you have multiple dogs! For Dog Sitting: I have done a fair bit of dogsitting in the past but you will need to let me know different things about the dog/s, e.g. how often they need the toilet during the night or what time you like them to eat. I am very comfortable with giving your dog/s plenty of attention and enriching them with different activities! Final Note: I am not comfortable with caring for extremely brachycephalic dogs, e.g. Bulldogs & Pugs, as I do not agree with the ethics in breeding them.

Would 100% recommend Nicola. Felt very comfortable leaving Arlo with her, she asked all the right questions before to make sure she had everything she needed and then provided a beautiful report with photos afterwards as well. Left the house exactly as she found it and left a very contented boy who clearly enjoyed her company.

Regular updates and pictures recieved, even a lovely card and treats left at the end of the stay, which was so kind. We would have no hesitation in having Joanne stay with George and Fleur again.

About: I have reared puppies and looked after pets all my life. Animals are my passion and bring me much joy. I have vast experience looking after other people’s pets having worked in my friend’s dog sitting franchise for many years. I've also done countless dog/cat sits with another site and have glowing testimonials which I am happy to share. Now that I'm semi retired and can work from home I can spend even more time caring for your pets. I'm extremely fit and love nothing more than going for long dog walks in parks and the countryside. I'm happy to dog sit in your house or can have small dogs at my place. I live in a maisonette with a huge park 3 seconds from my front door. I've had 2 dogs while living here and pride myself on making sure they were always kept stimulated and had at least 2 walks per day. I'm a very responsible, dependable and trustworthy person who you can rely on to look after your pets and home. I am semi retired and work for myself via my laptop. My hours are totally flexible allowing me plenty of time for pet care. I am happy to look after pets in your own home while your away or have them in my own home. I am very much a home body so your pets won’t be left alone for long periods of time. I live opposite a very large park and am also close to some beautiful countryside. Walking is one of my hobbies so your dogs will get plenty of exercise to keep them stimulated. I am in the process of doing a dog behavioural course to better understand how our furry babies operate. I’m used to looking after all sorts of dogs and cats - both large and small.

About: I’ve always loved being around animals and have owned multiple cats over the years, so I’m very used to caring for pets, understanding their personalities, and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I’m also a big dog lover and really enjoy spending time playing with dogs, going for walks, and giving them plenty of attention. Jennifer also has plenty of experience caring for smaller pets, having looked after rabbits and guinea pigs over the years. Together, we’re very comfortable with different pet personalities and routines, from giving them gentle attention and playtime to making sure they feel safe, settled, and properly cared for in their own home. We are naturally very caring, patient, and attentive, and will always treat your pets as if they were my own - whether that means playtime, cuddles, feeding, walks, or simply keeping them company. About: I own a large dog with epilepsy for nearly 14 years and have loved taking care of him. I understand that pets can feel stressed and nervous when their owners aren’t with them so I understand wanting to have someone look after them, or take them on long walks to give an enjoyable and fun experience. Although I don’t have much professional experience, I have looked after pets for family whenever I could. I’m currently taking a Dog Grooming course for a Level 3 Diploma and have recently completed my Pet First Aid course so I’m ready for an emergency should one occur. I’m available to pet sit on any day or night you wish. I’m also available to dog walk at any time whether it is early in the morning, or later in the evening! My pet is my top priority, and so is any other pet I look after so I always make sure they’re safe and well cared for (and spoiled). I’m trained in Pet First Aid so I am prepared for any emergencies

I can highly recommend Robert & Lizzie, we had the best experience with them. It was a fairly last minute house sitting request and we even managed to meet up with them a few days prior to the service to introduce them to our dog Lotte. From the first moments of meeting Robert and Lizzie we knew Lotte would be in safe hands, and they liked each other straight away. Their calm nature made us feel instantly ease. Everything went great and we received an update during the day with cute photos. Robert and Lizzie were friendly, punctual and reliable, I would definitely use them again!

Simon & Caitlin looked after our 2 small dogs for a long weekend while we were attending a family event. This was the first time we had ever left the dogs behind so we were a bit anxious - until we met Simon & Caitlin. One of our dogs is very nervous but she took to them immediately as they are very relaxed and obviously used to dogs. They listened carefully to our care instructions which reassured me. The house was clean & tidy when they left and we received daily updates. Would recommend them for pet sitting and would definitely use them again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Maidenhead

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Maidenhead on Rover is £40.25 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 15,921 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Maidenhead. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Maidenhead walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Maidenhead choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
