About: Three years ago, while studying at university in South Africa, I was a dog sitter for the Canine Club. Now, in the UK, I work in marketing during the week, but on weekends, I still love to dive back into dog walking and pet care whenever I can! I work full-time as a local marketing manager at the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts—three days in-office, two days from home. Weekends, though, are completely free for all your pet-sitting needs! 💕 I’d ensure they’re safe by providing all the love, care, and attention I’d give my own pets, while carefully following any instructions or briefs the owner provides. Your home and your pet would be in trusted, attentive hands!

About: I've been an animal lover since I was little. I am the type of person who prefers animals to humans! I love dogs, horses and any other pet. I've had experience dog-sitting for bosses (high-end film producers & directors) for long periods of time, in particular being solely responsible for x2 high energy Golden Retrievers day to day. I've also dog-walked neighbours' dogs, had many years of experience walking and training my own and also doing holiday cover caring for cats. I've got experience with young pets and seniors and am able to adapt to your needs and requirements to ensure the pet is kept as happy and in their routine as possible. Please consider me! I am currently in between contracts with my film work, so this means I am completely flexible and able to give your pet as much or as little care as you require. I can do both weekdays and weekends, able to commute up to 25 miles from home. I can handle dogs securely and safely, making safety a top priority when caring for pets as I would want from someone else. I am responsive on my phone, can send as many updates as required for reassurance and will most often be in your own home environment, which the pet will be used to.

About: I have taken care of pets in both my professional and personal life for over 20 years. I love interacting with different animals and getting to show them lots of love and care. As I am a stay at home mum I can dedicate lots of time and care to your furry friend and my schedule is flexible. I am confident in caring for animals with extra needs such as medication, injections, tooth brushing, grooming as well as being very understanding of behavioural needs such as separation anxiety, nervousness around other dogs etc. Due to my previous career I have a good understanding of breed traits and personalities. I’m currently an house wife with three children and could look after your pet all week. My eldest child is at school and my middle child is at nursery two days a week with my youngest at home with me - all are brilliant around animals. I have a fenced garden and there is a secure dog walking routes near to my house. I am happy to accept crates to create a safe space for your dog to visit if they are worried or stressed along with relaxing remedies. I would love to be able to take your furry friend further afield so car crate/harness would be great.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 14. Neighbours, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and play their pets and give them the comfort and attention they need. I’m currently a full time student at Kingston School of Art. Whilst it’s full time, I still have 4 days off a week including weekends to take care of your pet and am free in the evenings nearly everyday. I have easy access to public transport so will be flexible on where house sitting for a pet is needed. I will give them the comfort and attention they need when house sitting.

About: I’ve been raised around dogs my whole life, so caring for them feels very natural to me. Over the years, I’ve often looked after neighbors’ and friends’ dogs, giving me experience with a wide range of breeds, temperaments, and ages. I understand how important routine and consistency are for dogs, from knowing how often they need walks to recognizing when they may be tired, anxious, or unwell. What sets me apart is my attentiveness and ability to pick up on the small details that make a big difference in pet care. I can adapt to the specific needs of each dog—whether that’s extra playtime for puppies with lots of energy, a gentler pace and special care for seniors, or sticking closely to a feeding and exercise routine. I treat every dog as if they were my own, ensuring they’re not only safe and well cared for, but also happy and comfortable while with me. Pet care is my full-time focus, so I can dedicate all the time and attention your pets need. Since this is my only job, I have the flexibility to follow your pet’s specific routine, whether that’s early morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening playtime. My schedule is built entirely around making sure pets feel safe, cared for, and happy, so you can always count on me to be reliable and available when needed. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets. In a pet owner’s home, I always respect their space and follow the pet’s normal routines as closely as possible, which helps reduce stress and keeps pets comfortable. I make sure doors and gates are secure at all times, walks are done safely on-lead unless otherwise instructed, and feeding/medication schedules are followed exactly. If pets are with me in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where they’ll have plenty of attention, exercise, and rest. I keep a close eye on their behavior and wellbeing, and I’m quick to notice if something seems off. Whether at my home or the owner’s, I treat every pet as if they were my own ensuring they’re cared for with patience, kindness, and consistency.

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life. My mum was a dog walker throughout my childhood, and I used to count down the days until the school holidays so I could join her on walks! Growing up surrounded by dogs has given me confidence with all breeds, sizes, and personalities. Most recently, I fostered a Dalmatian called Woody who was highly reactive. With patience, consistency, and the right support, we helped him build his confidence and eventually find a wonderful forever home. Seeing his progress was incredibly rewarding and reinforced just how much I love working with animals. I’m joining Rover because caring for pets genuinely brings me joy. After recently returning to work part-time following maternity leave, I now have the flexibility to dedicate time to looking after your furry family members. As someone who really misses having a dog of my own, spending time with pets is something I truly value. Your pet’s happiness, safety, and wellbeing will always be my top priority. I’ll care for them as if they were my own, making sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and love while they’re with me. I can’t wait to meet you and your four-legged best friend! Pet care fits naturally into my routine, so I can give every pet the time and attention they deserve. I have a flexible schedule and can provide walks, drop-in visits, daycare, and boarding throughout the week. I make sure every pet gets plenty of exercise, playtime, affection, and a consistent routine to help them feel happy, safe, and comfortable while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you can have peace of mind I have a fenced off garden, lots of space in the house for the dog to find their spot and get comfortable if they need a rest, I have a DBS check and I have lots of confidence in walking dogs and know how to handle them with care and quick to understand a dogs needs, I will take care of them as they was my own and I wouldn’t expect any less.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I've grown up with both cats and dogs and have spent my whole life learning to understand their different personalities, needs, and routines. I currently have a friendly Labradoodle and a beautiful Ragdoll cat, so I know just how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pets as if they were their own. Alongside my personal experience, I also worked as a Veterinary Care Assistant, where I supported the veterinary team and cared for animals both in and out of the practice. My role involved handling pets with patience and compassion, ensuring they were comfortable, assisting with their day-to-day care, and helping owners feel reassured during what could often be stressful situations. This experience has given me confidence caring for animals of all ages, temperaments, and needs. I'm also a therapist and work from home, which gives me the flexibility to provide reliable care and spend quality time with the pets I look after. After spending my days supporting people, I genuinely find being around animals incredibly grounding. They have a wonderful way of bringing calm, joy, and a much-needed sense of peace, and I often joke that animals can be much easier than humans! Caring for them is something I truly enjoy, and it's one of the most rewarding ways I can spend my time. Whether your pet loves long walks, energetic play, quiet company, or simply sticking to their usual routine, I always tailor my care to what makes them happiest. I understand that every animal is unique, and I pride myself on being reliable, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about providing the highest standard of care. When your pet is with me, they'll be treated like one of my own—with plenty of love, attention, patience, and care. My goal is to make sure they're happy, safe, and comfortable while giving you complete peace of mind while you're away. I I work as a therapist 3 days a week and do part time evening work on Wednesdays. I’m at home a lot and have access to cars. My cat is completely indoor so doors and windows are always shut and have a garden for the dog. The house has air conditioning throughout.

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals for most of my life and have always had a genuine love for them. Caring for pets is something that comes very naturally to me, and I have around 5 years of hands-on experience looking after dogs and other animals. I also have a degree in Psychology, and I think my naturally calm, empathetic and patient personality really helps when caring for animals. I pay close attention to their behaviour, body language and individual needs, and I understand that every pet is different. Some need lots of play and stimulation, some need reassurance and company, and others simply want a calm person nearby who makes them feel safe. For me, pet care is not just about completing a walk, feeding a pet or turning up for a booking. The most important thing is making sure every animal I care for feels safe, loved, comfortable and properly looked after. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and want them to feel as settled and cared for as they would with their own family. I have a responsible professional job, but I also work from home and have flexibility, which means I can often give pets plenty of company, attention and consistency throughout the day. I’m reliable, conscientious and very respectful of owners’ routines and instructions. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos, because I know how reassuring it is to see that your pet is happy while you’re away. I work from home, so I’m around throughout the day and can give pets plenty of company, attention and care. I’m naturally quite a homebody, so pets staying with me won’t be left alone for long periods, but I also really enjoy getting outdoors for walks and fresh air. I have a secure private outdoor patio at home, as well as a lovely park directly across the road, which is perfect for regular walks and exercise. My routine is flexible, so I’m happy to adapt to each pet’s usual schedule, whether that means walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles or simply having someone around for company. 🐾 I always aim to make pets feel safe, comfortable and relaxed, whether they’re staying with me or I’m caring for them in their own home. I’ll follow their usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, rest and any individual preferences or instructions from their owner. I’m happy to care for pets with different personalities and needs and will give them plenty of individual attention, affection and company. When caring for pets in their own home, I’ll also be respectful of their environment and make sure everything is left secure and as I found it. I know how reassuring it is to know your pet is happy while you’re away, so I’m also very happy to send regular photos and updates.

About: I’ve always been around dogs and naturally took on caring for them, whether that was helping out friends, neighbours, or family. Over time, I’ve gotten used to different personalities. From really energetic dogs who love to play to quieter ones who just want company. I genuinely enjoy spending time with them, making sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and not stressed when their owners are away. I’m someone who pays attention to the little things and treats every pet like they’re my own. I’m available for pet care through drop-in visits, dog walking, and house sitting in the owner’s home. About: I have no children but I do have a kitten. I helped bring up my sister’s puppy-turned-dog during Covid, I regularly look after my sister’s dog for days and hours. I take her for walks, feed her, play with her and drop her off. I also sometimes look after my best friend’s cat when she is at work or on holiday. I am flexible with weekends, and week days I work hybrid so I am home most of the week - aside from Tuesday and Thursday, which are my office days. ☺️ I keep door closed and always use lead when outside. The area is usually gated outside, and I have space for a crate if needed. I have a few green areas next to me. I live basically in town, with non-main road access in too for particularly vulnerable puppies.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Maidenhead choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
