“After being let down by another sitter we contacted Emma and she was able to help on very short notice, even fitting in a meet and greet with our dogs. My youngest dog is historically very prickly with strangers in the home but he took to Emma straight away and they all had a peaceful time together with lots of contact and pictures to ease my mind while I was out. Would highly recommend and will be inviting Emma round again!”

“Joella was great looking after our springer spaniel Molly for the evening while we went out to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. She quickly got to know Molly who greeted her with lots if enthusiasm and later was very relaxed around her. Joella sent us a lovely picture and message to us showing Molly was very calm and chilled out. We would not hesitate to recommend her pet sitting skills and would certainly book her again.”

“Claudia was great! My dog Luna seemed really happy and comfortable with her! And she left my place really clean and tidy :) she sent regular update messages, including photos, which I lobed! I would thoroughly recommend Claudia.”

“Zoe was excellent! Great comms, lots of pictures, arrived on time, and dealt really well with my dogs little quirks! She was so good, we have booked her again for later in Spring. I would recommend Zoe to anyone :) thank you Zoe!”

About: I love all dogs and have owned many breeds. I am comfortable playing with my Dad’s Pomeranian or my sisters Staffordshire bull terrier. I grew up with jack russells and setters. I love making sure they have a good run around and also get to play indoors and are kept engaged. I love cuddles on the sofa and making sure they got lots of attention. I’m fit and active and can make sure they have a good walk. I’m a dog lover currently inbetween jobs (and usually work from home or in a hybrid capacity) so am fully available at home and living next to a park. I am in a ground floor flat so White Hill park is technically my garden. I’ve had dogs my whole life and currently live vicariously through helping friends and family with theirs. I miss the cuddles, playing and company of dogs so being able to help people with theirs perfectly aligns with my current schedule. I don’t drive but the park is right outside. Although I have access to a car if need be. I live in a ground floor flat with the security door just outside my front door so there are no safety/escape issues. I can let them out for the toilet whenever they need it. I have throws on my sofa so dogs are welcome on my furniture. I’ve always considered dogs part of the family so I don’t mind them on the sofa. My flat is quite big so there is plenty of room for their beds, crates and toys - whatever the owners preference.
About: I have worked for the last 8 years in RSPCA animal care and have owned my own dog for over 25 years. During my time as a police officer I was a police dog puppy socialiser and later for the Hearing Dogs for the deaf. I often look after friends and family dogs and live in a rural location with easy access to lovely country walks. DBS checked. I currently work part time so I have lots of time to look after, visit or walk your pet. Available weekends and / or weekdays. I am happy to look after your pet in their own home or mine. DBS checked. Former police officer. I have a fenced garden in a rural location so easy access to quiet country walks. I have a 4 year old female neutered cocker spaniel.
About: I have had several dogs during my lifetime. Most recently I have taken to looking after neighbours, family and friends dogs for a day, weekend or a week at a time. My availabilty will depend on my work rota - I will be working 2 days per week from beginning of April 2025. I have taken early retirement but will be returning to work on a part time basis at the beginning of April. I will have 5 days per week where I may be available for dog sitting, dog walking. I have a fully fenced and gated large back garden at our property. Lots of good, long walks within a short distance of where I live which will normally involve a short drive.
About: I’ve had dogs growing up and have my own cocker spaniel Louis who is affectionate friendly and fun loving. I’m a confident dog owner and we welcome all types of dogs in our home. I’ve got a lots of experience both dog walking and sitting and I’m happy to walk nervous or reactive dogs. I work from home and dogs in my care get plenty of attention. I have an enclosed garden and lots of space for walks nearby. It’s a friendly and chilled home with lots of space to play and relax. We treat all dogs like our own and are confident they will have a great time with us. I have a friendly cocker spaniel Louis ( he is neutered) and a fox terrier called Hattie who both love other dogs. I’m caring and confident and will take great care of your dogs!
“Hope was excellent, very attentive towards Harley during the recent mini heatwave where he can be a grouch, Hope was brilliant though, looked after the house and tended to looking after plants, etc. Would recommend Hope and will definitely use again”

“Stephanie comes and dog sits at our house, she is a great communicator, sends regular photos and our Gigi really has a great time. She also walks her which is great as we don't often have time on our very busy days.”

About: I’ve grown up with pets all my life, especially doggo’s - but I love all kind of pets! Happy to help whenever I can :) I currently work full time 9-5:30, so I can be available early in the morning, after work in the evenings or on weekends! Please do also enquire for other times if needed, because I can be more flexible on occasion's. Unfortunately I can’t have your furry friends at my home as I am in a rented property that does not allow pets, but I am more than happy to visit your home and spend time with your pets as needed ! :)
“Sean is fantastic! From the moment we met him it was so obvious his love for dogs. Our dogs took to him instantly. We’ve come back home to very happy dogs! Sean’s communication is brilliant, he’s friendly and we will definitely be letting him look after our two dogs again in the future. Thank you Sean ?”

“Natalie was prompt and sent updates so we knew Annie settled in well for her first visit. Annie loved hanging out with Natalie and was totally relaxed with her. Will definitely book again!”

“Michael was amazing with Nuka, taking her on loads of adventures and outings to keep her busy and sending amusing photos and videos of their time together to keep me updated. She hurt her foot a little bit engaging in shenanigans on a walk and Michael let me know and treated it so she was right as rain. He's easygoing and very professional. Absolutely recommended!”

About: Caring for dogs has always been a huge part of my life and something I am truly passionate about. I spent two months living in Bali where I helped care for a group of dogs daily, which gave me hands-on experience understanding different dog personalities, routines, and needs. I naturally find myself around dogs whenever I can and genuinely love spending time with them. I am patient, caring, reliable, and excited to build my experience working with dogs professionally. My goal is to provide every dog with a safe, fun, and loving experience while giving owners peace of mind. I will soon have full availability and am excited to dedicate my time to dog walking and pet care full-time. I am flexible, reliable, and available for weekday and weekend walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. Spending time with dogs is something I genuinely love, and I would be thrilled to make it my full-time passion. I can provide a safe, loving, and comfortable home environment for your dog while you are away. I live near plenty of fields and great walking routes, so your dog will enjoy regular walks, exercise, and outdoor time. I understand how important routine, attention, and affection are for dogs, and I will make sure they feel happy, relaxed, and cared for throughout their stay. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing, I will always make their comfort and safety my priority.

I would highly recommend Joella for anyone looking for a sitter. This was all new to me going on Rover and Joella has made the whole process of finding someone to look after my Westie Ronnie so easy. Firstly, she responded within minutes of sending my first message and is a very good communicator. We had a met and greet and we were both happy and Ronnie was happy too! She was so lovely and friendly and very obviously is an animal lover and immediately sat on the floor and was very calm with Ronnie. Joella was very punctual for our meeting and also when she came to sit with Ronnie. She sent me photos to keep me updated which was so lovely of her and she kept Ronnie amused in the garden with snuffle mats with treats in. I feel so lucky to have found Joella.

Callum home boarded and looked after Milo whilst we were on holiday. We really appreciated the time and attention Callum gave looking after Milo. He took the time to meet us and understand his needs, and we had no concerns with him coming into our home. Nothing was too much trouble, with regular updates and piccies. Thank you Callum

However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aylesbury Vale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 80% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
