After being let down by another sitter we contacted Emma and she was able to help on very short notice, even fitting in a meet and greet with our dogs. My youngest dog is historically very prickly with strangers in the home but he took to Emma straight away and they all had a peaceful time together with lots of contact and pictures to ease my mind while I was out. Would highly recommend and will be inviting Emma round again!

Joella was great looking after our springer spaniel Molly for the evening while we went out to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. She quickly got to know Molly who greeted her with lots if enthusiasm and later was very relaxed around her. Joella sent us a lovely picture and message to us showing Molly was very calm and chilled out. We would not hesitate to recommend her pet sitting skills and would certainly book her again.

About: I love all dogs and have owned many breeds. I am comfortable playing with my Dad’s Pomeranian or my sisters Staffordshire bull terrier. I grew up with jack russells and setters. I love making sure they have a good run around and also get to play indoors and are kept engaged. I love cuddles on the sofa and making sure they got lots of attention. I’m fit and active and can make sure they have a good walk. I’m a dog lover currently inbetween jobs (and usually work from home or in a hybrid capacity) so am fully available at home and living next to a park. I am in a ground floor flat so White Hill park is technically my garden. I’ve had dogs my whole life and currently live vicariously through helping friends and family with theirs. I miss the cuddles, playing and company of dogs so being able to help people with theirs perfectly aligns with my current schedule. I don’t drive but the park is right outside. Although I have access to a car if need be. I live in a ground floor flat with the security door just outside my front door so there are no safety/escape issues. I can let them out for the toilet whenever they need it. I have throws on my sofa so dogs are welcome on my furniture. I’ve always considered dogs part of the family so I don’t mind them on the sofa. My flat is quite big so there is plenty of room for their beds, crates and toys - whatever the owners preference.

About: I have had several dogs during my lifetime. Most recently I have taken to looking after neighbours, family and friends dogs for a day, weekend or a week at a time. I have taken early retirement but will be returning to work on a part time basis at the beginning of April. I will have 5 days per week where I may be available for dog sitting, dog walking. About: Caring for dogs has always been a huge part of my life and something I am truly passionate about. I spent two months living in Bali where I helped care for a group of dogs daily, which gave me hands-on experience understanding different dog personalities, routines, and needs. I naturally find myself around dogs whenever I can and genuinely love spending time with them. I am patient, caring, reliable, and excited to build my experience working with dogs professionally. My goal is to provide every dog with a safe, fun, and loving experience while giving owners peace of mind. I will soon have full availability and am excited to dedicate my time to dog walking and pet care full-time. I am flexible, reliable, and available for weekday and weekend walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. Spending time with dogs is something I genuinely love, and I would be thrilled to make it my full-time passion. I can provide a safe, loving, and comfortable home environment for your dog while you are away. I live near plenty of fields and great walking routes, so your dog will enjoy regular walks, exercise, and outdoor time. I understand how important routine, attention, and affection are for dogs, and I will make sure they feel happy, relaxed, and cared for throughout their stay. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing, I will always make their comfort and safety my priority.

I would highly recommend Joella for anyone looking for a sitter. This was all new to me going on Rover and Joella has made the whole process of finding someone to look after my Westie Ronnie so easy. Firstly, she responded within minutes of sending my first message and is a very good communicator. We had a met and greet and we were both happy and Ronnie was happy too! She was so lovely and friendly and very obviously is an animal lover and immediately sat on the floor and was very calm with Ronnie. Joella was very punctual for our meeting and also when she came to sit with Ronnie. She sent me photos to keep me updated which was so lovely of her and she kept Ronnie amused in the garden with snuffle mats with treats in. I feel so lucky to have found Joella.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Aylesbury Vale on Rover is £33.35 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 3,070 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Aylesbury Vale. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Aylesbury Vale walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aylesbury Vale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 80% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
