“Joëlla was very professional, kind and caring to us and our beagle bums. She went above and beyond to hive them extra cuddles and when we returned they were very happy and the house was in order where the would have been destructive before. We will absolutely use Joëlla again and recommend her”

“Sean really made me feel at ease leaving my cat alone for the first time for a sudden last minute trip. I returned to a happy, healthy cat! And Sean was kind enough to bring in my packages that were delivered during the time I was away as well. Would definitely use his services again.”

“Rebecca was amazing S^ade was happy and contented when we arrived home and by all the photos and videos it looks like she had a lovely time and has made a new friend i will definitely book Rebecca again if we go away.”

“Olivia visited our two cats daily at our house whilst we were away for a week on holiday. We highly recommend Olivia as she cared for them daily; feeding them and cleaning out the litter. We came home to two very relaxed and happy cats. Olivia's drop in service is a great alternative to a cattery, especially for our older cat who gets stressed when she isn't at home. 5 Stars *****”

I give the dogs plenty of massages and fuss.

“Claudia is so lovely, Bo thinks so too! She was punctual and communicative. She was able to get my stubborn Lurcher out for a walk between rain showers. Would thoroughly recommend Claudia 👌”

About: Flexible working hours and working from home means either myself or my husband will always be around. Your pets will be looked after with lots of attention and care. We understand how hard it can be to find support and want to pass this on. I currently work from home with very flexible hours as I am self-employed so I will always be around to offer support and care if your pets stay here. Large fenced off garden, plenty of space in the home and no children. We have a dog ourselves who likes other pets but does not tend to interact much with them so your pets will be comfortable here.
About: There have always been animals in my life - as a child we always had at least one dog, and I spent most of my childhood looking after horses alongside my mum. We had an array of dogs - from a cuddly Labrador to yappy Jack Russells! We've had puppies, rescue dogs and those in their latter years. I'm used to dogs with anxiety, and am aware of training methods for those who are still young. I will offer a reliable, professional service. I currently work from home, so can pop out during the day to walk/drop in on pets. Equally, I would be happy to have pets here in my home. I have a 4 bedroom house with enclosed garden, close to nice areas to walk. I will follow your pet's routine in terms of usual mealtimes / food / treats etc to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible and the pet is comfortable. Working from home, I am easily able to meet your pets' needs, and can adapt my responsibilities to fit in walks and exercising, mealtimes etc. My home and local area is safe, with many areas for walks, including local open fields. My garden and home is secure. Local area popular for dog walks.
About: I have grown up with rescue cats my whole childhood, including nervous cats. All pets have grown to trust me and feel comfortable and confident in my presence. I still to this day look after my parents current cat when they go away. Since leaving home, I have had a rescue dog who arrived extremely nervous, shut down and reactive to other dogs. It has been a long process of patience, structure, routine and determination. I would be more than happy to walk / sit reactive dogs due to my experience. As well as owning my own dog, I regularly foster for the rescue we adopted Jack from. Over time our foster journey has included puppies, extremely nervous and aggressive dogs, big dogs and elderly dogs with medical conditions. Every dog we have looked after we have been extremely respectful and understanding to their particular needs and built up trust and love with each and every one of them. I have extensive experience, especially with rescue dogs on slow introductions, training requirements and nutrition (although I am not a qualified nutrionist or trainer). Any dog I look after would be looked after exceptionally and any specific requirements that are requested would be respected. I have also been overseas to Macedonia to spend time in a dog shelter there meeting and training numerous different dogs including dogs worn injuries and blind dogs. I have done this twice and both times have been extremely rewarding. Although I work full time, I am very lucky to be able to take my dog to work with me everyday. I am an active person who enjoys walks and exercise regularly. I am used to being outside in all weathers, all year round. Although to start with, I plan to take requests specifically at weekends or weekday evenings, if I built up a relationship with a particular animal this could be more flexible e.g. coming to work with me on some occasions. My dog has everything he could possibly need. I appreciate everyone's way of looking after their animals is different however I am experienced with dogs and cats that require different routines / set ups. For example my dog is house trained and not destructive in the house so settles very well on a bed when left alone. However I have fostered dogs before that require the use of crates. I would always respect the owners requirements and follow any rules they have set up in place.
“Eszter is absolutely amazing at caring for our Lando when we're away and goes above and beyond to make us feel comfortable leaving him. We have used her numerous times now and Lando is always very happy and calm when we get home - we know he is being very well looked after - thank you Eszter!”

About: I currently have a dog and cat who are very much part of the family and have access to all areas of the house. They gets lots of love, i love all animals, and i am looking to share that love with your pets. I am unemployed so have spare time to spend with your pets. Morning are usually walkies for my dog so afternoon/evenings i am available, but can do mornings if really needed. For me pets are family so they get shown the same amount of love and respect as any other family member. I am patient and probably treat them better than people!

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Aylesbury Vale
Siobhán has been an absolute star! She was available at pretty short notice and looked after our cat beautifully. Playing with him and encouraging him to eat all his food inside and outside - even bringing brushes from her own home for some grooming which he’s never had from us before! She gave detailed updates on his eating, playing and adventures with other cats and sent lots of photos. We enjoyed reading her updates every morning and evening during our holiday! We would highly recommend Siobhán to anyone who needs their cat looking after. She is very professional, listened to all our instructions and did everything perfectly. We are very happy we found her! Many Thanks Siobhán!

From first contact Olivia put my mind at rest about both using a pet sitter and leaving my car in her care. The meet and greet was a great way to get to know her and introduce her to my cat. They clicked straight away. My feeding and care instructions were followed. I got regular updates and photos while I was away and my cat seemed happy and relaxed when I returned. Would highly recommend Olivia and I will be booking again.

We are so happy we found Stavrina! Stavrina fed our cat twice a day while we were away - she took so much care in our home and of course our fur baby. Stavrina updated us after every visit which really put my mind at ease. 100% recommend! Thank you once again Stavrina!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
