“Felt confident I was leaving Benji in capable hands and he was very much welcomed into the family. Considering he can be anxious when left, after just one day he seemed to have settled. Planned in for Summer holiday boarding.”

“Rebecca and family are so adorable. All of them including Percy their 1year old retriever took care of our puppy. He was exhausted with playing so much and slept on the way back in the car it was so cute. There's gonna be lots of play dates in the future I can see. Thank you so much.”

“Bailey had a great time staying with Joe at his home at was obviously very well looked after throughout his stay. We’re on Rover because we’re no longer willing to put Bailey in kennels. While Bailey was staying with Joe we were kept up to date with how he was getting on and it made our time away all the better knowing Bailey was having a holiday of his own; lots of walks and plenty of time in the company of others (which he loves). We will ask Joe to look after Bailey again and would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.”

“Agnes is a lifesaver. She accepted a quite urgent 3-week sitting job with only a couple of days' notice. She took great care of my Westie and uploaded photos on a regular basis. No issues were raised, and the communication was excellent. I am very happy with the service and would recommend her to any dog owners.”

“Thank you for having Zuma, he seems to have had a great time and very well looked after. He’s slept since so clearly been exercised too! The communication was perfect! I’ll definitely be using again in the future. I definitely recommend Samantha.”

“Senali and family were so welcoming and lovely, they had Jeffrey for nearly 2 days and despite his initial separation anxiety he had a great time with them and their dog Bella! Senali sent many photos and updates which helped too! Will definitely send Jeffrey there again!”

“Claudia was absolutely fantastic. Easy to communicate with, flexible and Archie seemed to have an absolute blast . We have used her a few times now and would recommend to anyone else!!!!!!”

“Gemma was great with our dog! She has a lovely family and clearly cares about dogs. Her dog Bailey was also very good and patient with our energetic pup. She also gave regular and detailed updates throughout our dogs stay. I will definitely be booking her again! Thanks so much Gemma!”

“We were so worried leaving our 3month old puppy, but Guy and his family were so welcoming when we met them, and have a lovely home. We were given so much reassurance from as soon as we booked with Guy that Maverick would be fine. Guy gave us daily updates on Maverick and it looked like he had the best time too. We will definitely be using Guy again and would 100% recommend him and his family.”

“Crumpet really enjoyed his stay with Julie. He is not used to staying with other people but he settled in well and was happy and comfortable. He enjoyed lovely walks and was kept cool when it was very hot. Julie provided regular updates and pictures. We were able to enjoy our holiday as we knew that Crumpet was being well cared for, given lots of attention and was happy. Thank you Julie”

“Thanks to Rahul and his wife for taking care of Toffee when we were away. They are loving, caring and were also observant of any behaviours of Toffee that they found different and kept me in loop all the time. They sent me pictures and videos of toffee daily and kept me informed of activities that they were doing with Toffee. They have a nice outdoor garden and the provision to separate dogs if there’s more than one at a time.”

“This was the first time that we left Shadow overnight since we got him back in March, I was a little nervous as Shadow is a rescue dog and we were not sure how he would react without us being there. Beth was great lots of communication during the booking process, and on the day of arrival Beth meet us by the car and took control of shadow straight away which was great, she has a large garden for shadow to play in. During the Stay Beth stayed in contact with messages and pictures. I'm sure we will book Beth again when we need Shadow looked after Trevor & Jane”

“Memphis had a great stay with Steven and his family. They welcomed him in to their home, gave him lots of affection, walks and attention. Steven sent images of Memphis on their walks and showing him settled and calm at their house. We would defiantly recommend leaving your dog here, for sure we will be asking for Memphis to return when we are next in the area.”

“Alan was a great host for Stanley. Felt more than comfortable leaving him with Alan. Lots of posts and pics sent. On return and picking our dog up it was clear to everyone that Stanley had had a great time and had a very happy stay with people who clearly love dogs. Thankyou Alan.”
“Mack loved his time with Madeleine and her boys! Madeleine sent regular updates and photos and communication was perfect from start to finish. Mack was made to feel right at home and he was happy and relaxed when we picked him up. He’s looking forward to his next stay! 🐶”

“Margarita and family were amazing with Ronnie! Very kind and loving, meaning Ronnie was very happy there and had a great time! Will definitely be using Margarita again! Thanks a lot! X”

“Thea was a fantastic host for our little man! She is super friendly and kind, and her cocker spaniel Poppy is an absolute angel. She was fast at communicating and made sure our pup had everything he needed. Would definitely recommend!”

“Anna, her family and her dog Millie couldn’t have been more welcoming to Ronnie. He settled right in, and I knew he was going to be well looked after. Their home is beautiful, with ample space for the dogs to run around in the garden and snooze in the lounge. Millie (Anna’s dog) is gentle but playful, a perfect match for Ronnie’s cheeky personality and I think he’s missing her company since. Anna was incredibly attentive seeking to understand how best to care for Ron and after I met her I knew I could trust her to make him feel right at home and look after him. We will definitely be contacting Anna again!”

“Holly looked after Butters for 10 days and we were very happy with everything. She sent us regular updates with pictures. She was very flexible with dropping off and picking up times. Butters was very well looked after, he was comfortable and happy :) recommend! Thank you Holly!”

“Debora and her family are fantastic! Rocket loved his visit and didn’t want to come home. We received lots of photos and videos and I could tell that he was super happy and living his best life. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him!”

It is always worrying when you leave your cuddly bear with someone you don’t know, but we were so pleased to see how quickly Dino settled in with Julie. We didn’t have to worry about him at all while we were away. Julie took great care of Dino, and it was clear that he was happy and well looked after. We are looking forward to our next peaceful holiday, knowing we have found someone caring and trustworthy to look after our furry boy. Thank you, Julie, for taking such good care of Dino!

Rebecca and family are so adorable. All of them including Percy their 1year old retriever took care of our puppy. He was exhausted with playing so much and slept on the way back in the car it was so cute. There's gonna be lots of play dates in the future I can see. Thank you so much.

I was incredibly nervous about boarding Noah for the first time, but Rahul was amazing. Staying in a real home environment made a huge difference. I received regular updates and photos throughout the night, which completely reassured me. Noah came home happy, relaxed, and well-cared for. Highly recommend!
Barney has been brilliantly looked after by Sophie on plenty of days but this weekend was his first sleepover, he was so happy to run to the door. We are so lucky to have found someone so lovely as Sophie, she is just the best and is the first person I contact when I need someone to look after Barney 😊

Russell was great with my staffie, Joel. Joel isn’t keen on being left but Russell was very patient, gave him lots of fuss and walked him lots in the park right outside his flat. He sent lots of pictures and is really quick at messaging etc. Russell comes across as a really kind, caring dog-lover and I wouldn’t hesitare to recommend him.

Rebecca was lovely & Flick had a great time! Rebecca had Flick during a heatwave and was so happy and willing to adapt to early walks, using a wet flannel and playing with her frozen toys. I got lovely pictures of Flick enjoying herself and she came back really happy. I would definitely book with Rebecca again. Both her and her partner were really friendly and lovely with both me and Flick!

This is the second time I’ve left my two dogs in the care at Karen’s home overnight. She and her family go out of their way to comfort, settle, exercise, and play with the dogs to ensure they are happy. She is an absolute professional and a lovely person. Both my dogs can take a while to settle with new people and demand lots of attention. I feel so comfortable leaving my dogs in her very capable and experienced hands. Karen sent lots of updates and pictures throughout the day too which I really appreciated. Thank you so much.

Alan was a great host for Stanley. Felt more than comfortable leaving him with Alan. Lots of posts and pics sent. On return and picking our dog up it was clear to everyone that Stanley had had a great time and had a very happy stay with people who clearly love dogs. Thankyou Alan.
Biscuit had a wonderful stay with Jessica and Ben! From the moment we arrived, he was completely comfortable and settled in right away as if he had been there before. Jessica and Ben are incredibly kind and welcoming. They immediately made Biscuit feel loved and at home, and he took to them right away. Seeing how happy and relaxed he was put me completely at ease and made me feel very comfortable leaving him in their care. Communication throughout his stay was excellent. I loved receiving updates and photos, and it was so reassuring to hear how well he was doing. Jessica and Ben are a lovely couple with a wonderful home, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pet. I would book with them again in a heartbeat. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would!

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
