“Charlotte is a great sitter! Wilf, our golden retriever, took to her straight away and we felt completely comfortable leaving him in her safe hands. It's worth mentioning that she cared for him during a recent heatwave and she made sure that he was kept as cool as possible, had plenty of fresh water and limited his walks accordingly. She kept us updated with photos, short videos and info each day. We would recommend her 100% to others and would definitely book her again! Many thanks Charlotte!”

“Sue has been wonderful in looking after Tommy. Regular updates of Tommy with Barney having a great time swimming and playing together. It must have been challenging in the heat of the last week, but Sue's impeccable standards and care just demonstrates her professionalism. The house was perfectly clean and tidy - probably more so than I let it 😁 I rate Sue very highly and will use her services again.”

“Carlotta, recently had our two dogs for the weekend. She was fantastic with them and really good at communicating with me about the girls. Tilly can be a little shy but she settled really well with Carlotta. She sent regular updates with photos and videos. The girls were well looked after and the house was very clean and tidy when we got home. I would highly recommend her.”

“I can’t recommend lisa and Alex enough. They stayed in our home for 2 weeks and our pets and house were so well looked after. They sent sent daily photos which often showed my fur babies stretched out on top of lisa giving cuddles, showing how much they had bonded. The house was well looked after and we came back to a clean well kept home. As soon as we met them they made us feel confident about their experience and love of animals. I would definitely recommend them to look after your pets and home.”

“Bella was excellent, she kept us Informed about how Florence was doing and Florence was clearly loved her! Bella was very calm with her and won her over instantly ! We would definitely ask her to look after Florence again and would highly recommend her!”

About: I have had experience with both cats and dogs from a young age. I have had springer spaniels in the past who definitely kept me on my toes! I currently volunteer weekly for stray cat rescue, and also cats protection, and work part time as a support worker. I love walking and I adore animals and am very confident around all different dogs and cats ❤️❤️ I work part time as a support worker in co ordination with my partner to fit around childcare, so I'm very flexible! I just need to know at least a week in advance so I can plan in my diary as no two days are the same for me! I know how stressful it can be to leave your pets, so I will keep everything as normal as possible to fit around your usual schedule. Lots of playtime and love at the same time 🥰
“his was our second time booking Lisa to look after Dexter and Woody, and we honestly wouldn’t go with anyone else! She’s absolutely fantastic with the dogs, they adore her and are always so well cared for. Lisa is also incredibly respectful of our home, leaving everything spotless and just as we left it (if not better!). It’s such a relief knowing our pups and house are in such great hands. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy dog sitter!”

“We needed a dog sitter at short notice and were so lucky that Ellie was available. Kind, calm and caring, she looked after our very lively 5 month old puppy who certainly kept her busy! She took the time to come over and meet us before we booked and kept us informed throughout the time she was with him. We came home to a very settled, content and happy puppy. We will definitely be booking with Ellie again!”

“Jamie clearly took really good care of Peanut and she really took to him, which was lovely to see. It was really reassuring to get regular pictures and updates about her and he left everything in the house just as he found it if not better. Thank you Jamie - you are highly recommended.”

“Daise was great looking after our whippet, Wilf! She was incredibly quick to reply to any messages and was happy to share with us lots of pictures and videos. It was clear that Wilf was in such good hands. Thank you Daise.”

About: We have a two year old golden retriever who is the friendliest dog we know! She’s great with people and other dogs and we love looking after her and going on long walks with her. I (Dan) have had dogs as a child and cared for family members dogs so have plenty of experience and am yet to meet a dog I don’t get on with! We live very close to Ampthill Park with a secure garden. I (Dan) work from home and look after Florence all day, my work schedule fits around dog care and I can take Florence out twice a day if not more if needed. Amelia is around every evening and weekends to help with any other dog demands! We have a secure fenced garden which dogs seem to love and as mentioned we have many walking dog routes very nearby which are great for long walks and running around. We can cater to the amount of exercise and love and attention that your canine needs.

“Ameera was fantastic looking after Lacey at short notice, sending lots of photos and making sure she was comfortable in this hot weather. Her communication skills are also fantastic and would highly recommend 5*****”

I currently have full availability for the next few months. I can do dog walks, or drop in visits! I look forward to building a bond with your dog. I do not offer pet care in my own home however, I can provide care in your home. This can include drop in visits and casual pet sitting. About: I've had a beautiful dog since I was four who past away last year so now I have a dog sized hole in my heart. I love looking after family and friends pets and can't wait to look after yours 💕 I'm a mature sudent who is on summer break, so I am very flexible and free most weekdays and weekends. Looking forward to having company from a four legged friend I have a fenced spacious garden. Happy to meet before hand. Will stay with your doggy all day if needed and make sure they get all the walks and fuss they need and deserve
About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. Alongside my career as a cardiac physiologist, I've spent years caring for dogs and volunteering with European rescue and adoption organisations, it's a passion I simply can't imagine living without. That time with rescue dogs gave me a deep sensitivity to animals of all backgrounds, especially those who need a little extra patience to feel safe and loved. Every dog I care for gets treated like family. That's just who I am. Pet care is woven into my daily routine, not squeezed into it. I'm an early riser, so morning walks and visits are never rushed. Your pet gets my full attention, every time. Before anything, I take time to understand your pet's routine, personality and needs. During walks I stay fully attentive, no distractions, no rushing. For visits and house sits I follow your routine closely, because familiarity is what keeps pets calm and settled. I drive and walk depending on location, keep you updated with photos and messages, and always leave your home exactly as I found it.

About: I’ve missed having a furry companion or two to keep me company throughout the day and fuss over while I work from home in my flat! So I’d love to look after and care for your four legged friend as I would do my own! (My family pets as seen on my profile; copper the red cockerpoo 🐶 and bow the grey cat 🐱) I’ve been lucky enough to have been surrounded by all types of animals my whole life. My family are animal lovers, which has definitely been passed onto me after caring for dogs, cats, ducks, horses, hamsters etc. So I have always believed a house is not home without a pet, hence why I miss having one! I have added a list of the experience I have gained over spending years by spending so much time with family pets. Therefore I am confident I can care for your pet and do my best to make it feel like a home from home! 🏡 • 10 weeks old puppies • senior dogs - up to 18yrs old • multiple dogs • rescues • kc registered/show dogs, • crossbreeds / purebreeds, • toy/small/medium/large breeds, Personal experience in - shih-tzus, yorkshire terriers, cocker spaniels, springer spaniels, cavalier King Charles spaniels, cockerpoos, Irish setters, English setters, German Shepards. • medical conditions such as heart murmurs, partial blindness • minor and major surgery recovery • providing medication • other requirements- no teeth, hand feeding, incontinence I live in a flat just down the road from Barton springs park so can provide regular breaks and walks as much as your pet needs :) If you have any questions please feel free to contact me :) I spend a lot of time in my flat as I work from home Monday - Friday 9-5, and I’m free most weekends so would be able to provide all day care and company which I see as beneficial both ways! This also means I’m able to host your pet for extended periods of time if you require :) my flat is calm and quiet so would be able to support the needs of your furry friend and make them as comfortable as possible. My flat is across from a large patch of green a minute walk away and just down the road from Barton springs park so I am able to bring your furry friend out for toilet breaks as often as required (around 2 hours on average). My flat is never stuffy so there will always be fresh air and I am happy to have a dog bed, or crate, any toys they may like and also allow paws on the sofa as long as they aren’t muddy haha. Your pet will be safe in my home and not be left alone at any point. Their safety is my number one priority as I would look after them as I would look after my own pets :) If you’re looking after a pet in your home, I will ensure to follow their routine as closely as possible in order to minimise disruption and keep any stress to a minimum :) No request is too small so please let me know if there is anything else you would like to know from me as during their stay, I would be more then happy to send you pupdates to put you at ease and ensure you are are completely happy every step of the way! 🐶🐾 Thank you for looking at my profile I hope to speak to you soon! “Ellie-Mai was absolutely amazing from start to finish. As this was my first time leaving Ninja with a sitter, I was naturally a little nervous, but Ellie-Mai put my mind at ease straight away. She was friendly, reliable, communicative and clearly cared about Ninja's wellbeing. I received updates while I was away and came home to a happy, relaxed cat and a well-looked-after home. Ninja clearly loved having her around, and it was such a comfort knowing he was safe, fed, cared for and had company while I was away. I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will 100% use Ellie-Mai again in the future and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring and professional pet sitter. Thank you so much, Ellie-Mai, you were fantastic, and Ninja and I are both very grateful! 😊🐱⭐”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Central Bedfordshire
This is the first time that we have used Rover to look after our dog Stella, but we have been left very impressed. That may be down to Sue and how great she has been! We received multiple updates / photos each day of all the walks Stella had been on with her new friend Barney! Sue house sat for us as well as looking after Stella and we have come home to the house looking the same as we left it, clean! Plus, she also watered our plants for us. We highly recommend Sue and will definitely be using her again!

Rocki was booked to go to the boarders and came in to season a week before we went away. I was nervous at booking someone to come and stay with her, but was immediately put at ease when Chloe came to meet her. She was so good with Rocki, I had lots of photos and videos while I was away. Took her to her normal costa for a pup cup and private field runs and walks. I was completely at ease knowing she was with Chloe. Rocki certainly missed her. Would definitely rebook.

Hollie stayed with Wilson for 5 days while we went away and we as owners and our pup could not be happier! She spent time with him before to make sure my dog got along with hers. She was really respectful about staying in the house, but most importantly took such good care of our dog. We will book with Hollie again for sure, absolutely delighted to have found Hollie! 💕

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Central Bedfordshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Central Bedfordshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
