“Emma came to dog sit in our house for a week while we were away. She was brilliant, regularly providing updates and photos. Emma dealt with all of our dog’s needs, including medication, and made sure he had plenty of fuss and cuddles. He loved having Emma look after him, even going to sleep in the bed she had stayed in when she had gone! Will definitely book her again ☺️ 🐶”

“Once again Georgina did a wonderful job of looking after our two dogs while we were away. She sent regular photos during the week and we returned to two very relaxed dogs and a spotless house. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Georgina and we already have another booking later in the year.”

“Ameera was fantastic looking after Lacey at short notice, sending lots of photos and making sure she was comfortable in this hot weather. Her communication skills are also fantastic and would highly recommend 5*****”

“Liz and Alex were amazing with our two dogs. They took fantastic care of them while we were away for a few days. Liz provided regular updates (with photos), which we were most grateful for. Luna and Willow are lucky to have Liz and Alex as their sitters!”

“Couldn’t be happier with the service that Jamie provided :) Jamie stayed with my cat toothless for 4 days while we were on holiday, Jamie followed all instructions given and even tidied my house for me before we came home ! Jamie took extra time and precautions when looking after my cat as I have quite bad pet anxiety. Jamie took all worries away and I enjoyed my holiday throughly!! Toothless loved having a face around especially because jamie would play with him for ages until he got tired or bored! I would definitely recommend booking Jamie to look after your furry friends, I will be!! See you soon Jamie. Thankyou again. 5 STARS!!! If I could give you more I would !”

“We needed a dog sitter at short notice and were so lucky that Ellie was available. Kind, calm and caring, she looked after our very lively 5 month old puppy who certainly kept her busy! She took the time to come over and meet us before we booked and kept us informed throughout the time she was with him. We came home to a very settled, content and happy puppy. We will definitely be booking with Ellie again!”

About: I’ve missed having a furry companion or two to keep me company throughout the day and fuss over while I work from home in my flat! So I’d love to look after and care for your four legged friend as I would do my own! (My family pets as seen on my profile; copper the red cockerpoo 🐶 and bow the grey cat 🐱) I’ve been lucky enough to have been surrounded by all types of animals my whole life. My family are animal lovers, which has definitely been passed onto me after caring for dogs, cats, ducks, horses, hamsters etc. So I have always believed a house is not home without a pet, hence why I miss having one! I have added a list of the experience I have gained over spending years by spending so much time with family pets. Therefore I am confident I can care for your pet and do my best to make it feel like a home from home! 🏡 • 10 weeks old puppies • senior dogs - up to 18yrs old • multiple dogs • rescues • kc registered/show dogs, • crossbreeds / purebreeds, • toy/small/medium/large breeds, Personal experience in - shih-tzus, yorkshire terriers, cocker spaniels, springer spaniels, cavalier King Charles spaniels, cockerpoos, Irish setters, English setters, German Shepards. • medical conditions such as heart murmurs, partial blindness • minor and major surgery recovery • providing medication • other requirements- no teeth, hand feeding, incontinence I live in a flat just down the road from Barton springs park so can provide regular breaks and walks as much as your pet needs :) If you have any questions please feel free to contact me :) I spend a lot of time in my flat as I work from home Monday - Friday 9-5, and I’m free most weekends so would be able to provide all day care and company which I see as beneficial both ways! This also means I’m able to host your pet for extended periods of time if you require :) my flat is calm and quiet so would be able to support the needs of your furry friend and make them as comfortable as possible. My flat is across from a large patch of green a minute walk away and just down the road from Barton springs park so I am able to bring your furry friend out for toilet breaks as often as required (around 2 hours on average). My flat is never stuffy so there will always be fresh air and I am happy to have a dog bed, or crate, any toys they may like and also allow paws on the sofa as long as they aren’t muddy haha. Your pet will be safe in my home and not be left alone at any point. Their safety is my number one priority as I would look after them as I would look after my own pets :) If you’re looking after a pet in your home, I will ensure to follow their routine as closely as possible in order to minimise disruption and keep any stress to a minimum :) No request is too small so please let me know if there is anything else you would like to know from me as during their stay, I would be more then happy to send you pupdates to put you at ease and ensure you are are completely happy every step of the way! 🐶🐾 Thank you for looking at my profile I hope to speak to you soon! “Carlotta was absolutely lovely with our two rescue greyhounds, was flexible and kept us updated throughout the day. The dogs clearly really love her vice versa. We’d love to have her watch Todd and Luna anytime and are very grateful to have found her. Big thank you Carlotta!”

“Amazing service- we had a puppy that could be a handful but Lynne was totally amazing. Lynne also gave regular updates - I would highly recommend using her for any pet sitting that you require.”

“Lisa was fantastic with Mike! She really took great care of him, played with him a lot, and was very attentive to his body language. She made sure he had good walks and even looked after the house while I was away. Mike is a very energetic dog, but when I got home, I could see how happy and satisfied he was after his day with her. Communication was simple and clear, making everything easy. I highly recommend Lisa’s services for anyone looking for a caring and responsible sitter for their furry friends!”

“Ellie-Mai was absolutely amazing from start to finish. As this was my first time leaving Ninja with a sitter, I was naturally a little nervous, but Ellie-Mai put my mind at ease straight away. She was friendly, reliable, communicative and clearly cared about Ninja's wellbeing. I received updates while I was away and came home to a happy, relaxed cat and a well-looked-after home. Ninja clearly loved having her around, and it was such a comfort knowing he was safe, fed, cared for and had company while I was away. I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will 100% use Ellie-Mai again in the future and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring and professional pet sitter. Thank you so much, Ellie-Mai, you were fantastic, and Ninja and I are both very grateful! 😊🐱⭐”

“This is the first time that we have used Rover to look after our dog Stella, but we have been left very impressed. That may be down to Sue and how great she has been! We received multiple updates / photos each day of all the walks Stella had been on with her new friend Barney! Sue house sat for us as well as looking after Stella and we have come home to the house looking the same as we left it, clean! Plus, she also watered our plants for us. We highly recommend Sue and will definitely be using her again!”

“Isabella is super, capable and friendly, Lola was happy and settled with her right away. I had a perfect relaxed day without worries. Isabella is top of my list when available when I need help with Lola again.”

“Daise was great looking after our whippet, Wilf! She was incredibly quick to reply to any messages and was happy to share with us lots of pictures and videos. It was clear that Wilf was in such good hands. Thank you Daise.”

About: Hello, I am Lauren! I have taken care of many dog breeds, anxious or over excited and have been brought up with all kinds of dogs since I was young. My dad used to breed Alsatian’s and my granddad also trained Doberman’s. No dog is an issue, no task is a problem. Whatever your pet needs they will get :) I work for CBC and only look after 1 dog, board 1 dog at any given time, this isn’t my main job and therefore I stick to these rules and unless you have 2 pooches from the same household I cannot be lenient on this so my bookings do go quickly! I board for long stays at my own home and happy to do drop ins but boarding at your home are not possible as I have a 7 year old and insurance only covers me from my home. My property has a lovely garden, fenced and fake grass and i am not precious about poo and wees plus they would be walked daily around the local countryside and to note the property is gated so completely safe, however, I encourage meet and greets each time to ensure the owners are completely comfortable. Especially if your pooch is classed as large. The pooch will have company by my 7 year old who is in love with all shapes and sizes of dogs. Please note: I will not accept any pooches with anxiety towards children. They must be house trained. I will charge for any accidents they require intense cleaning. Please contact if have any questions. Lauren The routine will always be discussed with the owner and honesty is paramount from all parties. Preferred method would be having this documented so both parties are happy with the care in place for the pooch. Any specific instructions like key access must be sent via a private route to protect properties. My home is gated and fenced garden. Security at the home is brilliant. I have had no problems ever reported with run aways or lost pooches.

“Natalie is such a lovely lady. She's very pleasant to talk to, and very good with the cats. Both of mine seemed comfortable with her and she looked after them very well. I will happily book her again, it will be nice to have someone dependable to take care of them.”

Rocki was booked to go to the boarders and came in to season a week before we went away. I was nervous at booking someone to come and stay with her, but was immediately put at ease when Chloe came to meet her. She was so good with Rocki, I had lots of photos and videos while I was away. Took her to her normal costa for a pup cup and private field runs and walks. I was completely at ease knowing she was with Chloe. Rocki certainly missed her. Would definitely rebook.

Hollie stayed with Wilson for 5 days while we went away and we as owners and our pup could not be happier! She spent time with him before to make sure my dog got along with hers. She was really respectful about staying in the house, but most importantly took such good care of our dog. We will book with Hollie again for sure, absolutely delighted to have found Hollie! 💕

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Central Bedfordshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
