About: Sadly we lost our boy a year ago, so since then we have been looking after lots of doggies to get our fix of walks and cuddles. We both grew up with dogs and brought our children up to be dog lovers. We love taking our borrowed pets for lots of walks over the fields and playing with them in our garden. I have put 15 years of experience in my profile to reflect how long we have owned a dog together in this house. 45 years of dog loving makes me look far too old! We have been actively dog sitting since Harry died a year ago. My husband and I are both home all day so we can give your dog our full attention at all times. Occasionally our children may be home from university (one of whom is training to be a vet) and both girls love being around dogs, and always have lots of cuddles to give. We had a dog for 15 years until recently and understand the need for a dog safe house and garden. Our house is open plan so dogs often come up to our room to sleep at night, but they could be shut into our hallway if you would prefer. We are surrounded by fields so long country walks are a pleasure.
“Cash aand Penny appeared to be very happy when we picked them up. I think they were well looked after and well exercised! I was initially sceptical about using a site like this but wouldnt hesitate again. Susan comes highly recommended by me and Cash and Penny!”

“Toby settled in really well. Was apprehensive to leave him as he is still quite young but Chloe made him feel at home. She provided me with regular updates on the two days I booked with snaps of my little boy whilst I was at work. Very happy and would leave Toby again ❤️”

“Delighted we could leave our special baby girl, Mabel, with Myla. Beautiful house in lovely area. Mabel was very happy to be left, so off we went. Collected Mabel a little early, but that wasn’t a problem for Myla. Mabel got on well with the other dog (a huge long haired golden Labrador who was very friendly) there and Myla is very easy to talk to and friendly. Will definitely use Myla next time we are in the area. Thanks so much.”

“Lovely family, you know your dog will be well looked after and you'll be communicated with throughout. Really helped us out when we had to find a sitter last minute. Thank you for taking such good care of our pup. Look forward to booking with you again in the future”

“Millie-Jo looked after my needy dog all day, took him for an amazing walk and was so calm and kind, provided wonderful updates with pictures. Also made sure he got the rest he needs which can be difficult as he gets overstimulated. She's one of those people with a natural understanding of dogs, couldn't have asked for better care for the hound.”

“We came to Wendy with a very nervous Blue and concerns that she would suffer bad separation anxiety if left with someone else and be unable to continue. In less than a week, Wendy's has become a second home to Blue and she gets excited as soon as she sees the front door. We couldn't be happier with the service and look forward to many more happy years!”

“Stephanie is just brilliant Was very nervous about leaving coco as she can be very picky who looks after her Stephanie was brilliant , allowed coco to find herself and by end of day 1 was settled and relaxed Would definitely recommend and will book again”

“I can't recommend Alessia enough for dog sitting! She took exceptional care of my Ralph during his first daycare with her. Her warm demeanor and genuine love for dogs made me feel at ease. Ralph came back happy and well-adjusted, which speaks volumes about her attention to detail and affection. I’ll definitely be booking her again for future dog sitting! 5 stars all around! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟”

“Lisa and her family were absolutely amazing with Mila - I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment I dropped her off, I felt completely at ease knowing she was in such caring, attentive hands. It’s so clear how much love they have for dogs, and Mila was treated like part of the family the entire time. I got updates throughout the day which was so reassuring, and she came back happy, relaxed, and clearly very well looked after. It means everything to know she was not only safe but genuinely enjoying herself. I would 100% love for Mila to stay with Lisa and her family again in the future – they were brilliant in every way. Highly, highly recommend! She loves her new toys too 🐾”

“Pepe had an amazing time with you guys, he was truly worn out and so tired when he got home, I was kept in contact with all day and felt reassured my pet was fed, well, safe and happy. Will definitely be using these guys again ! So so pleased with the care he has received.”

“The first time leaving my 4-month-old puppy with anyone for the whole day and I chose Daise. I couldn't have been happier! easy to arrange, great communication, I received regular updates and pictures throughout the day and I felt she genuinely cared for her/loved her like I do. Molly was very happy. I would recommend highly. Excellent care.”

About: Complete dog lover and have my own 4 year old GWP Mix named Bella, she is a ball of energy and loves having another pup to play with. I’ve had and cared for dogs for the past 8 years and have pet sit for various family and friends which has led me to creating a Rover profile. I work from home so will always be on hand to care for your dog and ensure they’re never left alone. I work from home so will always be on hand and provide flexibility to care for your pup and ensure they are never left alone. I have a large fenced garden and one dog of my own so there is plenty of space for them to run around. Our home is their home and they’re welcome on the furniture and around the house as they please.

About: Neil and I are passionate animal lovers offering a calm, loving environment for dog boarding. We cared for our Beagle for 12 wonderful years before she sadly passed away due to illness, which gave me valuable experience with dog care, routines, and companionship. We’ve also looked after family dogs including Cockapoos and Labradors, and regularly care for our neighbours’ cats and dogs while they are away on holiday. Since we’re not quite ready for another dog of our own yet, Rover feels like the perfect way to continue sharing our home and care with dogs. I work from home full-time, and Neil predominantly works from home as well, so there will almost always be one or both of us at home with any boarded dogs throughout their stay. We have a large living area with patio doors leading to a secure, fenced grass garden that dogs can enjoy all year round. Because we work from home, we’re able to give dogs plenty of attention, companionship, and regular toilet breaks throughout the day. We can also take dogs out for walks during breaks, lunch, and in the evenings, so it’s very normal for dogs staying with us to enjoy up to three walks a day depending on their needs and routine. We’re also happy to adapt to older dogs or those who prefer a slower pace and quieter routine. Neil and I provide a safe, calm, and loving home environment where dogs are treated like part of the family. As one or both of us work from home most days, dogs are rarely left alone and receive plenty of attention, regular walks, playtime, and care throughout their stay. We have a secure fenced grass garden and always follow each owner’s routines and preferences carefully, including feeding, walks, medication, and any special requirements. We’re also happy to provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind while owners are away.

I know how important it is to leave your dog with someone you can genuinely trust, and my aim is to provide a safe, calm and loving environment where every dog feels relaxed, happy and well cared for. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I share my home with my two friendly dogs, Boobik and Moochi, who have taught me that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs. I also have a friendly cat, so I only accept dogs that are comfortable around cats. I offer dog walking, home boarding, day care and a pet taxi service for small and medium-sized dogs. To give every dog the attention they deserve, I keep my walking groups small and only accept friendly dogs. Your dog's safety and wellbeing always come first. I offer a free Meet & Greet before every first booking so we can get to know each other, answer any questions and make sure we're the right fit. Building trust is important to me, and I want both you and your dog to feel completely comfortable before any booking begins. I look forward to meeting you and welcoming your dog into my care. Pet care is part of my daily routine, as I already walk my own dogs every day. I organise my schedule around structured weekday walks, allowing me to provide reliable and consistent care for every dog. I focus on small, well-managed walking groups so each dog receives proper attention, exercise, and a calm walking environment. Linda is absolutely amazing! Once again accommodated a late booking for Layla. Layla was so excited to go back to play again and recognised Linda straight away at the door. She has the best day evident in the photos ☺️ Linda is such a lovely lady and very welcoming. It’s so clear how much she genuinely cares about people and their animals and is super friendly. Thank you Linda, 1000% recommend 😊

I couldn’t be more pleased with the care Lennox received during his 4-day stay with Stephanie ! From the moment I reached out, she was incredibly responsive and confirmed the booking right away, which really put my mind at ease. Throughout the week, she kept me updated with plenty of pictures of Lennox having a great time, which I really appreciated. It was clear that Lennox loved spending time with her gentle giant Kano . The two of them got along so well, and I could tell Lennox was having a blast. When I picked him up, it was obvious he’d had an amazing time. He was happy, relaxed, and even a little reluctant to leave!

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.
Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
