“Clare took very good care of our dog, a very energetic spaniel, who settled well after an inital bout of excitement. We would definitely ask Clare to look after him again.”

“From meeting them It's obvious Rory and Hannah have a massive love for dogs. We felt 100% reassured leaving our beloved 15 year old Labradoodle Branston in their care. Their communication before and during was brilliant. Highly recommend them as somewhere safe and loving to leave your dog. Rob.”

About: I have grown up with dogs, cats and rabbits. As an adult I have always had a dog or dogs, experiencing the high and lows, sickness and loss but I would still have more. I am now retired and would like to spend my time looking after other people’s dogs. I have now retired and have one dog of my own. I live near a park and also fields near the river and we have regular walks daily. I am at home most of the day so any visiting dogs would get plenty of fuss and attention. I have a secure fenced back garden and a gate at the front of my house. I have one friendly dog of my own to keep any visiting dogs company.
“Sue was absolutely amazing with Azula! She was lovely and patient. Azula, is a very energetic girl, but came home absolutely exhausted, this shows she had lots of fun. Sue kept me updated with regular pictures which was a bonus”

About: Hi there! I’m Alessandra and mum of a cheeky toy cockapoo Luna. I have always grown up with dogs, so wanted one of my own. Now, I work from home running my own business and Luna is my companion! I fully believe that all dogs that come into my home are treated as part of the family so there is nowhere they aren’t allowed to go. I live in a flat alone but live round the corner from a spacious country park so am available for walks whenever suits your schedule and needs. If your little angel is in my care, they will be treated like one of my own. I currently have my own business and work from home so am fully flexible! I’m available for boarding, walks and day care. I don’t drive unfortunately so I may not be able to travel to you. I have a 18 month old girl toy cockapoo called Luna so am well versed with puppy care. I do not have a garden but I am round the corner from a lovely country park and other green spaces. I have a female puppy Luna who loves to make friends and would love to keep your dog company! Please note: For house sits and dog boarding, Luna will be with me. She’s house trained, doesn’t bark and is super friendly towards other dogs. For drop ins and walks, I can leave Luna at home if your pet loves one to one attention.
“My boy ran straight into Lauren’s garden today, he has had an amazing time making new doggy friends. I’m so glad I found Lauren makes my working life so much easier knowing I can ask her to look after him when I need to travel. Lauren is an amazing dog sitter don’t think I will need anyone else 😍”

About: Hello! I’m a lifelong dog lover with over 12 years of hands-on experience caring for my own dogs. I was the proud owner of a Golden Retriever and a Husky, whom I raised from puppyhood. This experience has given me a good understanding of dogs’ different personalities, exercise needs, and daily routines. Caring for dogs has always been a true passion of mine. I’m patient, responsible, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I understand that every dog is unique, so I take the time to get to know their individual needs and make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and loved while they’re in my care. My home is a detached house with a secure, enclosed back garden where dogs can safely enjoy fresh air and playtime. We also have a large park just a short walk away, making it perfect for enjoyable walks, exercise, and exploring new smells. I know how difficult it can be to leave your beloved pet with someone else because I’ve been in that position myself. That’s why I’ll care for your dog as if they were my own, providing plenty of love, attention, companionship, and regular updates with photos so you can enjoy complete peace of mind. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the sofa, or simply relaxing in a calm home environment, I’ll make sure they receive the care, comfort, and affection they deserve. I look forward to welcoming you and your furry friend into my home! I work from home for most of the week, which means I have plenty of time to give pets the attention, companionship, and care they deserve throughout the day. I enjoy having pets around me and can provide regular toilet breaks, playtime, cuddles, and exercise without leaving them alone for long periods. I also love taking photos of the pets in my care and sending regular updates to their owners, so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry friend is happy, safe, and enjoying their stay. I provide a calm, safe, and loving home environment where pets are treated like part of the family. My detached house has a secure, enclosed back garden where dogs can play safely, and there’s also a large park just a short walk away for enjoyable daily walks and exercise. I always follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, medication, routines, and any special requirements to help pets feel comfortable and maintain their normal schedule. Every pet receives plenty of love, attention, playtime, and companionship. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you’ll always know how your pet is doing while you’re away.
“Kylie is a gem! She agreed to look after Poppie at short notice and did a fantastic job. Poppie came home happy and relaxed. Kylie is very responsive, a wonderfully warm and friendly person, and clearly an animal lover. Poppie and I are so pleased to have found Kylie.”

“Lucy is absolutely AMAZING! From the very first enquiry, Lucy was prompt, professional, and warm in her communication. We arranged a meet-up at Lucy’s home to ensure both Mabel and Lucy felt comfortable with each other. Although our request was very last-minute and initially just for day sitting, after meeting Lucy and seeing how kind and caring she was with Mabel, we asked if she could look after her overnight for our Wedding Day and Evening — and she kindly agreed. Lucy went above and beyond by liaising directly with my aunty, who was caring for Mabel the day before and after her stay. She kept us both regularly updated and shared lots of lovely photos of Mabel looking happy and settled throughout. It’s clear that Lucy and her family absolutely adore dogs. They cared for Mabel as if she were their own, and when she returned home, she was calm and content — a stark contrast to the usual anxiety she experiences when away from us. I wholeheartedly recommend Lucy to anyone looking for a loving and reliable dog sitter. We’ll definitely be using her again in the future!”

“Both Tania and her husband were really lovely, they both were very communicative with me and attentive to Ziggie. They kept me up to date during the day with really sweet pictures/videos of Ziggie walking in the park, playing zoomies in their garden and taking an afternoon nap. I would have no problem at all booking with them again in the future, or recommending them to a fellow rover user.”

About: I’ve been around animals for as long as I can remember. My grandparents lived on a farm with lots of dogs, so I grew up feeding them, grooming them, bathing them, and just taking care of them like they were mine. I got my own dog, Pongo, about 12 years ago. He was the happiest, cuddliest Dalmatian and taught me everything from basic training to caring for a senior dog. In 2020, we added a second dog, Nairobi, who came from a Romanian rescue. She arrived with a lot of fear and emotional scars, so I spent a lot of time working with her, building trust, and helping her come out of her shell. Now she’s a, let's say, quirky dog who gets along great with others. Because of all this, I’m very comfortable with puppies, rescue dogs, and dogs who need a little extra patience or emotional support. After losing Pongo in 2024, Nairobi would love a friendly companion—so any dog I watch gets not just my care, but a sweet playmate if they want one. I treat every dog like family, because that’s how I was raised. I'm currently working from home, so I will have plenty of time to play with your doggos. I'm available weekdays and weekends at any time! When I’m caring for pets in my home, my main focus is making them feel safe, relaxed, and part of the family. I keep their routine as close to normal as possible—meals, walks, rest time, and whatever habits they’re used to. I also have a fully fenced garden where they can explore and enjoy the outdoors. As soon as the weather warms up, Nairobi spends most of her day out there sunbathing and only comes inside for water or a quick cool-down, and visiting dogs usually love doing the same. If a pet is staying overnight, especially during fireworks season, I make sure our last walk is earlier in the evening so everyone is settled before the noise begins. Our house has very good sound insulation, and with the TV on you can barely hear anything from outside, which helps dogs stay calm and comfortable. If we’re just popping in for walks, Nairobi and I always take our time. She loves to explore and sniff every single leaf, so we’re never in a rush. If your dog enjoys it, we can also play fetch or add in some extra playtime to make the walk even more fun. Overall, I do everything I can to make pets feel at home and cared for, just like I do with my own dog.
About: WFH animal lover with a playful resident pup and full-time supervision from me and my retired father. Your dog will get company, countryside walks, cuddles, playtime, and constant attention throughout the day. My wife works from home and can provide regular toilet breaks, attention, affection and exercise when needed for your pooches so they can feel relaxed and welcome in this home from home. We have 2 Italian greyhound boys, aged 4 and 2. “Lorraine took care of Mayzi when we needed a sitter at short notice. After a lovely meet and greet with Lorraine and her family we felt reassured that Mayzi would be in safe, caring hands. She certainly seemed to enjoy her day with Lorraine who sent photos and updates of their walks and playtime with their dog Willow. Lorraine is open and friendly and seems to genuinely care about the wellbeing of her "guests" so Mayzi came home relaxed and happy and we can wholeheartedly recommend Lorraine and her lovely family if you need someone to look after your precious pet.”

Lucy and her partner were so good with my anxious dog who hasn’t been left with anyone else for a while. They took time to get to know him and how to support him, despite it being a last minute request. When it came to pick up, he ran back to them for cuddles so he was obviously very happy 😊 Highly recommended, thanks again!

We have a skittish little madam who is anxious about meeting other dogs and people, so we are very happy to have found Sue to look after Honey. Honey had a lovely time with her stay and was told that while it took a bit of time to settle, she eventually warmed up and was happy for Sue to take her out for a walk (Honey isn't keen on walkies except with me - even my husband had to carry her on her walks with him). In fact, we have repeat future doggy day care booking with Sue.

Lauren and her partner are kind, caring people and so are the perfect sitters for our puppy freinds. My female cocker spaniel loves staying and playing with their own dog Waffles too. There is a beautiful garden to run around, lots of open space inside too and I received updates on walks, toilet and water breaks from Lauren which was much appreciated. I know she is in good hands there!

What a great experience! It was my first time leaving my 9 year old German Shorthair with a sitter and Mariia was beyond amazing. She double checked about his food allergies and provided text and photo updates. He was very happy and chilled when I picked him up. Can't recommend her enough!

Kylie is a gem! She agreed to look after Poppie at short notice and did a fantastic job. Poppie came home happy and relaxed. Kylie is very responsive, a wonderfully warm and friendly person, and clearly an animal lover. Poppie and I are so pleased to have found Kylie.

Kirsty and her family have been brilliant! We really appreciate the time they have taken to meet yannie beforehand and try to understand what he might need and also giving us a glimpse of what to expect when he stays with them. Throughout the day I received updates and pictures of Yannie. By the time I picked him up, I saw Yannie giving kisses to Kirsty’s daughter and simply didn’t want to leave because he had a really good time there and felt at home. Would definitely go back to Kirsty again when needed and highly recommend them to everyone x

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
