“Clare is responsive and kept me updated on Luna care all day. She sent me photos which I very much appreciated while on a walk and at home. She was interested in Luna and cleaned her ears for me. 🙏 She stayed a little longer than planned to see how to administer Lunas insulin for next time. Luna was happy to see Clare after meeting her the day before. I will definitely as Clare to sit for Luna again. Thank You”

“What an absolute legend, house and dog sitting for our three dogs! Kept up to date with photos and videos. No issues, no fuss, polite young man; our dogs love him and happy to see him: thank you Charlie you are superb!!!👌”

“Mia took great care of our dog today, Freddie liked her straight away and we came home to a very relaxed happy doggo. Mia is friendly and a great communicator, she put us at ease and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Thank you Mia!”

“We couldn't have asked for a better sitter for our two miniature dachshunds! She was flexible with our timings, clearly loves animals, and made us feel completely at ease. We received lovely photos and a video throughout the day, and the boys looked so happy and relaxed. The best sign of all was when she left and the boys stood by the front door waiting for her to come back! We wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Thank you so much.”

“Mariia was amazing with my dogs. Kenai is a nervous soul but the two of them got on very well and cuddled up. Diego is still a puppy and very much in his naughty phase, she kept a close eye on him to ensure he wasn’t getting into anything he shouldn’t and played and entertained him to get rid of some of that puppy energy. She was fab and will definitely be using her again ❤️🐾”

About: My name is Nina and I have just moved to Bedford from Australia. In Australia I worked at a wildlife park and I’m missing that animal interaction so much since moving here. My last pet was treated like my own child, I was extremely in tune with his health and needs and he even had his own bedroom. I'm so excited to meet more fury animals and help them to live their best lives! I am currently working from home and have plenty of time to spend with fur babies outside of my work hours. My schedule is very flexible and can work for your needs. My number one priority when caring for your pet is their wellbeing. I will be giving your pet 100% of my attention when they are in my care.
“What can I say, Hannah is incredible! I can't rate her highly enough. She took to our pack instantly and created some wonderful bonds with them all, and in particular one of our rescue dogs who can be anxious and doesn't take well to people generally. Well, he adored Hannah, as did the rest of the crew. We are so grateful to her. We could relax on our break knowing that everyone was in safe and capable hands and we returned to a very contented household.”

About: Hi there! I’m Alessandra and mum of a cheeky toy cockapoo Luna. I have always grown up with dogs, so wanted one of my own. Now, I work from home running my own business and Luna is my companion! I fully believe that all dogs that come into my home are treated as part of the family so there is nowhere they aren’t allowed to go. I live in a flat alone but live round the corner from a spacious country park so am available for walks whenever suits your schedule and needs. If your little angel is in my care, they will be treated like one of my own. I currently have my own business and work from home so am fully flexible! I’m available for boarding, walks and day care. I don’t drive unfortunately so I may not be able to travel to you. I have a 18 month old girl toy cockapoo called Luna so am well versed with puppy care. I do not have a garden but I am round the corner from a lovely country park and other green spaces. I have a female puppy Luna who loves to make friends and would love to keep your dog company! Please note: For house sits and dog boarding, Luna will be with me. She’s house trained, doesn’t bark and is super friendly towards other dogs. For drop ins and walks, I can leave Luna at home if your pet loves one to one attention.

We live in house and have a fenced garden, we also have a large beautiful park and river next to our home so perfect for lovely walks.
“This is the third/fourth time Elisha has stayed and looked after our dogs. Our dogs love Elisha. She takes them on multiple walks and sends us regular pupdates whilst we're away. Elisha took care of our home and left everything nice. I definitely recommend her!”
“Ellie was fantastic! She helped me out with dog care which was a last minute urgent request. She was super responsive before the visit and kept me up to date with pictures throughout. She did a wonderful job of taking care of my dog who suffers from separation anxiety and I wouldn't hesitate to use her again.”

“Kylie did a great job babysitting Pickles! He needs meds three times per day plus eyedrops, so it can be a handful. She is so great with him. Thank you so much, Kylie! Pickles loves you! :)”

“Kelly looked after Rooster very well and even gave him a little photoshoot. She left my place clean and tidy ready for my return. Rooster is very attached to me and she did an amazing job to reassure him while I was away. I thoroughly recommend her to look after your pets.”

About: I have loved animals all my life and have over 20 years of experience caring for pets. I have looked after dogs, cats and small animals for friends, family and neighbours. I understand that pets are part of the family and I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable and well cared for. I am reliable, calm and attentive to each pet’s individual needs. I run my own local service business, which gives me a flexible schedule. This allows me to fit pet visits and dog walks around my day. I am usually available mornings, afternoons and evenings for pet visits, feeding, playtime and walks. I understand how important routine is for pets, so I always try to keep their normal schedule while their owners are away. I always care for pets in a calm, gentle and responsible way. When visiting a pet in their home, I follow the owner’s instructions carefully to make sure the pet feels comfortable and safe in their own environment. I make sure food, water and litter trays are clean, and I spend time giving pets attention and play so they don’t feel lonely. I also treat every home with great respect and keep everything tidy and secure.
About: I've been around all animals since I was a child from big dogs to cats to caged animals to birds. I love caring for pets as it brings me so much joy knowing they're in safe hands and you don't have to worry. I'm home every day of the week as I have a daughter of 1 year old. She too loves animals as I've had her around pets since she was born (safely obviously). I can work this job around my parenting. I have a fenced garden with plenty of running around room and am local to parks where your pets will meet others. I live in a very safe and secure neighbourhood.

About: I love dogs and had a shih tzu named Pebbles for 13 years. I also was a horse owner for many years so I have a lot of experience taking care of animals. I work from home now and miss having a dog to shower with love and attention. My friends regularly ask me to dogsit for them when they are away. My schedule is flexible and I work on different time zones, so I have time during the day to accommodate for the specific needs of your dog. I have a small fenced area outside they can go out to during the day. I live and equal distance to Primrose Hill & Hampstead Heath, so lots of space to take them for long walks. I work from home and have lots of flexibility to take them out during the day. I am very adaptable to the needs of every dog I take care of. I have a nice lower ground floor flat with a walled off terrace outside. I usually keep the door open for them during the day to wander in and out as they please. Dogs are allowed to sleep in bed with me, except if the owner prefers otherwise if they are crate trained, etc.
About: Ive been taking care of pets in different capacities since I was a pre teen. I’ve had pets in my life since I was a baby from all stages of infancy till full grown through out their lives. I work a 9-5 where I sit all day so activity in the weekday evening and on the weekends are very welcomed haha. I like to plan my weeks in advance to best ensure that all possibilities can be properly accounted for. In owners home I intend to stick to usual routines as much as possible to allow the pet to become comfortable with my presence in their space but also to put a small personal touch to best bond with them and build a rapport. This of course will vary from animal to animal which is why I require a week to plan/ match activities to what the pets are used to and what I am able to execute.

About: I live with 3 amazing dogs. Two Sealyham terriers who get cheekier every day. And 1 border terrier who loves to sneak around. I couldn’t imagine life without them. Walking, feeding, playing with them is a hobby, never a chore. I work full time, 3 days a week at home. However, whilst I’m in the office, it’s very easy for me to still pop into the house to make sure pet care is prioritised. Allow for the dogs to have their space when needed. Recognise when they need a walk, to be fed and to be loved. Whether that’s a walk during the day or a overnight stay to ensure they’re relaxed and comfortable and not alone.

About: I’ve looked after a few dogs I have also used to foster dogs and every single one of them have brought a smile on my face each day My special skill is being patient whilst training they will always get their in the end no matter how long it will take to get where your fluffy friend want to be I used to have a black lab since he was a puppy it was quite challenging at first when he wanted to chew everything in the house I would always try keeping him distracted like putting treats in chewy toys spent a lot of time outside playing and telling him no when he tried to and praised him when he had listened I am currently not at work as I have been struggling with my mental health and pets always bring the light back I don’t currently have any pets so it’s a struggle to be in a schedule but most of the time I am always at home and sometimes my neighbors cat comes and visits me I am always free I live in a flat and share a garden with my neighbor who lives downstairs however the garden is split into 2 and fenced so we have our own space When I used to foster dogs I would go for about 20 to 30 min walk in the mornings and about an hour in the afternoon/evening time I would also play with them a lot of the times if they haven’t gotten all their energy out during the walks
The median cost per night for house sitting in Bedford is £36

Charlie took wonderful care of my dog, Frida. He is a genuinely kind and gentle young man who clearly loves animals. He kept me updated throughout her stay, which gave me great peace of mind. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Charlie to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.

Clare was amazing. She stayed at our home to look after our dog and cat while we were away. She was able to squeeze us in pretty last minute and still managed to come and do a lovely meet and greet with our pets. We wouldn't hesitate to book her again and couldn't have chosen anyone better to leave our pets with. Thank you again Clare.

Katherine looked after Martha and Lily yesterday evening and I would highly recommend her. Katherine arrived on time and the dogs loved having her here. I received a number of pictures and updates. Martha doesn’t take to many people as quickly as she has with Katherine, and she was sad when Katherine had to leave. I will absolutely be rebooking her as regularly as I can. Thank you.

Faye looked after my silver Labrador, Coco and was absolutley excellent. It was our first time leaving our dog for the day and with short notice, Faye had offered to help us. Faye constantly updated us with photos and messages and made us feel extremely comfortable leaving our puppy with her. Could not recommend Faye enough!
Our first ever experience with a sitter and we couldn't be happier. Hannah is clearly very experienced, has the dogs care and comfort at the forefront of her mind, asked all the right questions prior to meeting our dog and gave us reassurance/consistent updates throughout the day which we really appreciated. Some lovely pictures too! Would 100% book again ☺️

Elisha is incredible! Tiggy absolutely loves her and she was the best company for him while we were away. Our boy can be very nervous out on walks and it was so good to know he was in safe hands. Will absolutely be using Elisha again, and would highly recommend!! Thank you 💖✨

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Maria looked after our dog so wonderfully over the 5 days—giving them plenty of love, attention, and care, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our dog was happy, comfortable, and in very capable hands. On top of that, we came home to a house that was just as tidy and well cared for as we left it, which was such a lovely touch. Reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely caring, we would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter. Thank you so much! ⭐️

Hannah recently had her first stay at mine looking after my little lady, Millie. Millie was so well looked after and Hannah kept me up to date on how things were going and sent lots of pictures which I loved. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again, thank you Hannah!

I was very fortunate to be able to book Sammy to dog sit in my home whilst I was away for a week. From the start Sammy put me at ease, seeking a comprehensive understanding of my dogs needs as well as promptly coming to meet us. She did an amazing job looking after my greyhound and provided me with plenty of updates whilst I was away, even going so far as to making my dog's birthday special for her! I would recommend Sammy to anyone and would hope to book her again for any future holidays.

Emma was excellent looking after our two dogs, a saluki and whippet. Emma kept our house super clean and tidy. Very reliable and trustworthy. Emma was excellent in communicating with us during the process, especially when we were away by sending lots of photos and videos of the dogs being walked. We will definitely use Emma again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Bedford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bedford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
