Clare is absolutely amazing! Whilst taking care of our 3 active dogs, who all have individual care routines, Clare did everything perfectly and fitted in a lot of training for each of them which she tailored to their needs. Ontop of that we came back to a house that was spotless! Highly recommended.

About: I’m a caring, responsible, and trustworthy dog and cat sitter with experience looking after pets for friends, family, and neighbours. I’ve helped care for a variety of pets by feeding them, giving them plenty of attention and companionship, taking dogs for walks, and making sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable while their owners are away. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and always treat every pet with the same patience, kindness, and care I would give my own. I am also a singer and often sing to pets to soothe them. I offer morning, evening, and overnight care for your pets, dedicating time each day to feeding, playing with, singing to and caring for them. I make sure every pet receives plenty of attention, companionship, and care while you’re away. I’m also available for regular pet-sitting and ongoing care, providing a reliable and friendly service you can trust. I have flexibility to provide dog walking, evening care, morning care and overnight stays ensuring your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for throughout the night. I’m also available for regular dog walks and can adapt to each dog’s routine, energy level, and individual needs.

Mia looked after our dog for 10 days, in our home, whilst we were away for our wedding abroad. We received regular updates and pictures, which allowed us to have 1 less stress during our wedding away. We arrived home to a very happy and tired doggy. Alongside this, our house was left spotless - thank you. Mia was absolutely brilliant. We would highly recommend!

About: Hi! My name's Eloise! I've been the proud parent to 2 beautiful Greyhounds and hopefully will be again in the near future. Unfortunately we lost our dear Wally at Christmas so am excited to meet some new furry friends :) Animals really are the best company! Cats are also always welcome, and I very much respect their independent snoozy nature aha! In my day to day life I'm a Prop Maker for Film and TV, so being active is very much a big part of my life. Going on long walks and playing fetch with any excitable friends I'm pretty accustomed too :) Hopefully I'll get to see you soon! Xxx I'm a Prop Maker for Film and TV, and so in between contracts and after work I find myself with a lot of free time! In these quiet periods I'm completely free to come and house sit, walk and play! After bonding with a pet, I'd be more than happy to fit in their walks after work in the evenings should any Prop Making gigs come up! I'm very aware of different pets personalities and their needs when it comes to walking and being around other pets. Being the previous owner to two Greyhounds, one of which was very nervous, I understand to respect boundaries and gently encourage when needed. I don't want any pets to come to any harm or be unhappy in my care, so I make sure to pay extra attention to their responses and behaviour.

About: Hi there! I’m Alessandra and mum of a cheeky toy cockapoo Luna. I have always grown up with dogs, so wanted one of my own. Now, I work from home running my own business and Luna is my companion! I fully believe that all dogs that come into my home are treated as part of the family so there is nowhere they aren’t allowed to go. I live in a flat alone but live round the corner from a spacious country park so am available for walks whenever suits your schedule and needs. If your little angel is in my care, they will be treated like one of my own. I currently have my own business and work from home so am fully flexible! I’m available for boarding, walks and day care. I don’t drive unfortunately so I may not be able to travel to you. I have a 18 month old girl toy cockapoo called Luna so am well versed with puppy care. I do not have a garden but I am round the corner from a lovely country park and other green spaces. I have a female puppy Luna who loves to make friends and would love to keep your dog company! Please note: For house sits and dog boarding, Luna will be with me. She’s house trained, doesn’t bark and is super friendly towards other dogs. For drop ins and walks, I can leave Luna at home if your pet loves one to one attention.

About: My name is Nina and I have just moved to Bedford from Australia. In Australia I worked at a wildlife park and I’m missing that animal interaction so much since moving here. My last pet was treated like my own child, I was extremely in tune with his health and needs and he even had his own bedroom. I'm so excited to meet more fury animals and help them to live their best lives! I am currently working from home and have plenty of time to spend with fur babies outside of my work hours. My schedule is very flexible and can work for your needs. My number one priority when caring for your pet is their wellbeing. I will be giving your pet 100% of my attention when they are in my care.

About: I absolutely adore dogs! I’ve been brought up with dogs in the family. All of which are working/hunting dogs - Vizslas & spaniels. I’m very sporty so your dog will get a good walk. Living in Great Denham is a massive Gem for dog walking as there’s so many trails. I’m used to high energy dogs from my childhood but also love a calm & relaxed dog too. I’m always up for a challenge. The best part about dog sitting/walking is the sense of achievement when a dog can trust you, & gets excited when they see you stranding at the door ready for their walk Please see my calendar for availability as it changes from time to time as I am self-employed. This also means I can be extremely flexible I’ve looked after a Great Dane to a Mini Whippet. - A 6yr old to a 6month old dog. I’ll always keep my eye on them & I never take a dog off the lead the first few walks until I know they feel comfortable with me & Ofcourse if the owner feels comfortable too. 1 of my previous dogs was so nervous after a previous dog walker left her in the woods. I was able to create a bond with her over 6 months & she would walk off the lead with me & her recall was great!

We couldn't have asked for a better sitter for our two miniature dachshunds! She was flexible with our timings, clearly loves animals, and made us feel completely at ease. We received lovely photos and a video throughout the day, and the boys looked so happy and relaxed. The best sign of all was when she left and the boys stood by the front door waiting for her to come back! We wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Thank you so much.

We needed a dog sitter at short notice and were so lucky that Ellie was available. Kind, calm and caring, she looked after our very lively 5 month old puppy who certainly kept her busy! She took the time to come over and meet us before we booked and kept us informed throughout the time she was with him. We came home to a very settled, content and happy puppy. We will definitely be booking with Ellie again!

About: I grew up surrounded by dogs and have always loved caring for animals. My husband and I have two Shih Tzus (he’ll be looking after them whilst I look after yours!), so I understand how much our pets mean to us. I’m caring, patient, reliable, and will treat your pets like family. I am passionate about giving our dogs the best life - regular breaks, attention, cuddles, playtime and enrichment walks. Our dogs can be reactive so I also have experience understanding and managing this, as well as caring for very nervous dogs. Having used Rover for our own dogs, I know how important it is to find someone you can trust and who will understand and have patience for all their needs and routines! I work remotely full time, so I am able to give your dogs company and attention all day 🐾 I work remotely full-time, so I’m able to give your dogs plenty of attention and company throughout the day. I can be flexible on weekdays and weekends to your needs. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing are my top priorities. I understand that every dog has their own routine, personality and needs, and I’ll take the time to make sure they feel safe, comfortable and settled with me in your home. I’m respectful of your space and will treat your home with the same care I would my own. I will always follow your instructions around walks, feeding, medication, doors, and anything else that helps keep them safe. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

About: I’ve house and pet sat for a range of dogs and cats across the UK, whether young or older, including those needing twice-daily medication. I always follow each owner’s routines closely and understand how important consistency is for animals to feel safe and settled. I’m comfortable managing multiple pets with different needs. My longest sit was just over a month caring for two dogs and two cats, but I've also had many repeat clients year on year. I’m very attentive, enjoy long walks, and genuinely value the companionship animals bring. I also take real care in looking after people’s homes — keeping spaces clean, calm, and well respected. I understand how personal it is to trust someone with both your home and your pets, and I treat that responsibility with care and thoughtfulness. My work and lifestyle are very flexible. Although I’m based in Glastonbury, I travel around the UK for work, including festivals, retreats and private chef work, alongside some remote consultation work. Because of this, I’m often able to be very flexible with my location and schedule. When I apply for a house sit, it’s because I’ve specifically chosen that period to be free and available, either as a chance to have some downtime between work commitments or because I’m working remotely and would like to spend time in that particular area. I’m therefore able to structure my days around the pets I’m caring for and give them plenty of attention, companionship and consistency, while still having the flexibility to work remotely when needed. I really value the slower pace that house sitting offers and enjoy making pets part of my daily routine. I only offer house sitting in the pet owner’s home, and I take both the care of the animals and the home itself very seriously. I’m naturally very tidy, organised and responsible, and I treat every home I stay in with the same care and respect I would my own. I’m mindful of security, cleanliness and keeping things exactly as the owner has left them, while also making sure pets have a calm, safe and comfortable environment. I have over a decade of experience caring for animals and have looked after pets in many different homes and situations. I’m very attentive to their individual routines, personalities and needs, and their safety and wellbeing are always my priority. Most importantly, I genuinely love being around animals. I find their company incredibly rewarding and take great pleasure in giving them companionship, affection and plenty of attention while their owners are away.

About: I have many years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’ve looked after dogs short-term and long-term, with my longest stay being 6 months, so I’m very comfortable providing consistent, reliable care. I’m a huge animal lover and truly value the companionship animals bring. I also have access to a large, fully enclosed garden, giving dogs plenty of space to play safely. Your pet’s comfort, routine, and wellbeing always come first — they’ll be treated as if they were my own, so you can relax knowing they’re in safe, loving hands At the moment, I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I’m available throughout the week for boarding, home stays, walks and drop-in visits, and I can easily work around your pet’s usual routine. This means I can give them lots of attention, regular walks, playtime and company throughout the day rather than them being left alone for long periods. I’m also happy to be flexible with timings where possible to make things easier for both you and your pet 🤍🐾 Your pet’s safety and happiness always come first. I provide calm, attentive care and stick closely to each pet’s usual routine. My home is safe and secure, with a large, fully enclosed garden for supervised outdoor time. I have experience caring for dogs of all breeds and sizes and treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether caring for your pet in your home or mine, I aim to provide a loving, comfortable environment where they can feel safe and settled. I’ll also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away🤍🐾

About: I love animals! especially dogs and cats. I’ve taken care of my neighbour’s pets since I was 11. I always love interacting with new animals and I’m very aware of pet’s needs as I grew up with two sheep dogs and a lot of cats! I’m just about to start a new job teaching swimming and I’m looking for some work in the mean time. I’m experienced giving medications, training younger pups or supporting seniors. I generally just love taking care of furry friends! Please feel free to ask me any questions :) I’m currently between jobs, starting my new one at the end of September so I am completely available in the mean time. I am very flexible with timings and am happy to work last minute! I am good at reading animal’s behaviour and am confident with medicating, leashing, and crating if needed. I love giving cuddles but of course understand when some animals like their space!

About: I've been around all animals since I was a child from big dogs to cats to caged animals to birds. I love caring for pets as it brings me so much joy knowing they're in safe hands and you don't have to worry. I'm home every day of the week as I have a daughter of 1 year old. She too loves animals as I've had her around pets since she was born (safely obviously). I can work this job around my parenting. I have a fenced garden with plenty of running around room and am local to parks where your pets will meet others. I live in a very safe and secure neighbourhood.

FAQs for House Sitting - Bedford

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Bedford on Rover is £42.72 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 1,916 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bedford. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Bedford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bedford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
