“Natasha was great with my dog Rauru. Every day he stayed with her, he came back happy and with enough stimulation to send him to bed without a fuzz. We'll definitely book Natasha again for a next time.”

“Hai was excellent at communicating, very friendly and our dog Rizzo loved her! Hai sent us lots of updates and pictures during the visit which we really appreciated and made us feel very comfortable that Rizzo was being well looked after. Thank you so much Hai!!”

“Michele was a great sitter. Poppy really enjoyed her time with her. Michele was very attentive, played with Poppy lots and walked her. She also offered plenty of updates. Would be glad to book with her again!”

“Brodie had a lovely day with Emma, despite the heat of the hottest day of the year! Lots of great photos and updates through the day, great communication, Brodie looking forward to his next visit already.”

“Chia had such a lovely day! She came home super happy and sleepy so I can tell she had loads of fun and was really well looked after. Would highly recommend and will be leaving Chia with Sarah again!”

“We came across Gigi while we were looking for a dogsitter for our tiny 8 year old Maltese, Grohl. We were moving and we needed someone to look after Grohl while the moving was taking place and she was amazing! Grohl has had a wonderful day with Gigi and we received constant updates. She provided our boy with lots of love and care and we will definitely book with her again ❤️ Thanks Gigi!”

“Left my 6 month old dachshund with June today, and picked up a very happy, very sleepy puppy! She’s clearly had lots of fun and was even trying to head back in to June’s. Lots of updates and pictures throughout the day, will book again! Thanks!”

“We would have no hesitation recommending Gabriella. She was very prompt in correspondence, flexible and accommodating with the day care and Brodie seemed to settle quickly and had a lovely time. Thank you!”

“Natália is an absolutely fantastic sitter. She looked after my greyhound companion for the first time on one of the hottest days of the year, and she was so careful about keeping her comfortable in the heat. I got regular updates by text, including photos. I could tell Georgia had fun with Natália- she looked so happy in all the images. Natália is experienced with dogs and is a very gentle, caring person. She intuitively understood how to best look after Georgia, who is an unusual dog and has some quite specific needs. I will definitely go to Natália again, and would not hesitate to recommend her to others.”

“Dominique was amazing to accommodate my last minute request. Her responses were prompt and put my mind at rest that my 5 month old puppy would be in good hands. I received videos and photos throughout the day. Highly recommend and will be using her again!”

“Emma was brilliant! She was so flexible in taking Pepper at short notice and kept us updated with great communication throughout. Pepper clearly loved her time there — she didn’t seem to want to leave! Emma went above and beyond to make sure Pepper was well-fed, comfortable, and cared for. We will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you so much!”

About: Hi! I’m Jess and I live in St Albans with my dog, Barney. I am a huge dog lover and I promise to give your pup lots of affection and attention when in my care as if they were my own. I am also a keen photographer and will send you lots of pupdates along the way. I have helped friends out with their dogs of all sizes for twenty years, and nine years ago my dream became a reality when I got my very own dog! What sets me apart from other sitters is the bespoke, undivided attention I can provide your dog, with a mix of activity & play, along with calm & affection. I will listen to your specific needs to ensure their happiness is a priority and will give them all the love they deserve. I understand that they are family and know first hand the trust you put in someone when they are in their care. Typically drop-ins are 30 minutes and walks are 1 hour, but I can be totally flexible to your dog’s needs! For day care, I own my house with a safe and secure garden. I work from home so am always present and am able to give them unlimited attention. I cannot drive, but am a keen walker so can come to you, meet in town, or you can drop your dog to me. For overnight boarding, I only take one dog at a time to ensure the very best experience. My dog Barney is a 9 year old Cocker Spaniel and he is very friendly, calm, and reads other dogs well. He will join us for walks and will be in the house for boarders, so it’s the perfect set up if you are hoping to socialise your dog. He is fully vaccinated and neutered and I ask the same of your dog too please. I will introduce him during our meet and greet to see if we and the pups get along to reassure us all :)

About: As a dedicated animal lover with hands-on experience caring for dogs of all shapes and sizes, I’m comfortable handling everything from daily walks to overnight stays. Growing up with my own pets and regularly assisting my mum, a professional dog walker, has equipped me with the skills I need. Having recently returned from travelling I now have a flexible schedule with availability on weekdays weekends and even last-minute bookings. I understand the trust you place in me and promise your pets will always be in safe loving hands. Having recently returned from travelling, I’m currently in between jobs which means I have a completely open and flexible schedule. I’m available any day of the week, including weekends and bank holidays, and am happy to accommodate last-minute or short-notice bookings. Your pet will always have my full, undivided attention! At home, I have my own pets and a warm welcoming environment with a garden so your pet will have plenty of space to relax and play. I’ll treat them just like one of my own, maintaining their usual routine as closely as possible including feeding walks and any medications or special requirements. I’m equally happy to come to your home which means minimal disruption for your pet. They’ll stay in their familiar environment with all their home comforts. I’ll take care of everything from feeding and walks to keeping them company and sending you regular updates so you’re always in good hands.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 12 and we got our first family dog, since growing up I have looked after and owned all kinds of dogs from Schnauzers to Pit Bulls. Our last dog passed early this year and we would love to get another in time so looking after them for others in the meantime until we are ready fills a huge hole in our hearts. Working from home, both my partner and I are available most days throughout the day so we can take time out to walk and give dogs attention. We have a fenced garden with a security gate and my mum lives next door with her dog who spends time with us regularly. We have a dog loving toddler to also keep your dog company and play.
About: I’ve been doing dog sitting through borrow my doggy and rover for the last 6 years in London, I’ve just moved to St Albans with my partner and we both work hybrid, so have plenty of time on our hands for your furry friends. Very good with keeping to training and routine. I have had dogs and cats all of my life, but taken care in a professional sense over the last few years. I am currently working from home most of the week, as does my partner. We see this as a great excuse to get out for walks and explore the local area. I have a very safe flat within a gated community, I’m always able to keep an eye on dogs and my partner is regularly here too to help (she is also an experienced dog sitter). We move all plants out of the pets way when they are visiting and we are very close to a large park. Happy to provide pup dates and do facetime tours of the house if needed.

We left our 4 month old Maltipoo Charlie with Natasha for a full day this weekend. It was the first time we have left him with anyone and it couldn't have gone better. Natasha is a very friendly and experienced dog owner and so we felt confident leaving Charlie in her capable hands. Charlie had a great time playing with Natasha's dog as well as the other dogs who were there at the time. He left feeling happy and tired. We will definitely be using Natasha again!

Megan and her partner instantly made Ezra feel at home and sent regular detailed updates and photos throughout his stay, putting our mind at ease. Ezra thoroughly enjoyed his stay and all the special attention, particularly the tummy tickles. We will definitely use Megan again and would highly recommend Megan and her partner to other dog owners.

I would like to say thank you to Emma and Nathan who takes good care of Bluebell when she stays with them. Bluebell was so happy to spend time with them and go for a walk, she’s a very nervous dog but she loves cuddles from them. Emma sent pictures update frequently so we could see how Bluebell is doing, Would definitely recommend Emma if you are looking for a dog sitter🥹

Our high energy puppy seemed very happy when we went to pick her up and I’m sure she had great time with Zsuzsanna. She sent us a few updates and photos during the day to let us know what they were doing. I would recommend Zsuzsanna and book her again. Thank you for looking after our beloved crazy puppy!

Gigi was absolutely lovely and friendly. My dog took to her straight away and was clearly very comfortable in her care. I really appreciated the regular updates and feedback on how he was doing, which gave me real peace of mind. It was clear he was well looked after and enjoying himself. I’ll definitely be using Gigi again and would happily recommend her to others.

Rosie was fantastic with Freddie and he had the best day! Two long walks with plenty of play and snuggles, exactly how he likes it. I really felt comforted knowing that Freddie was in very good hands. Plenty of photos came through during the day to update me on how Freddie was getting on. Rosie was flexible to all of Freddie's needs and I will certainly use her again. Freddie can't wait for his next visit! Thank you x

Benjy thoroughly enjoyed his time with Marta and her partner. They were both so lovely welcoming and obviously cared about Benjy making him feel relaxed and settled from the moment we arrived. I had great piece of mind, knowing that he was in very good care. We would love Marta to look after Benjy again.

June was lovely looking after Canela and clearly has a real passion for dogs. Canela didn’t want to leave at the end of the day, which says a lot! June also kept us updated with regular photos, and from the looks of it Canela had a great day. We’d happily recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and attentive sitter.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
