“Thanks Joanne for looking after our Lola. Joanne cared for Lola twice now and I will definitely book her again. She understood and provided for Lola's needs and made sure Lola felt welcome and comfortable in her house. Her children were wonderful around Lola as well.”

“Our 6-month cockapoo Benji has been going to Eva and Shayan on a weekly basis for almost 4 months now. They’ve been absolutely amazing as Benji goes through his journey as a puppy of learning the world and himself. They send us lots of updates throughout his daycare and it’s very clear he has the best time ever!! We will continue to use them for the foreseeable and would recommend them to anyone! ⭐️🐕🐾”

“Anna was fantastic with Ryley! Great communication, very caring, and incredibly flexible with timings. We felt completely at ease knowing Ryley was in such good hands. We would definitely recommend Anna and look forward to booking with her again.”

“This was Jessie’s first stay with Gary. We started the process by meeting Gary at his house for an introduction meeting. Gary came across a very experienced dog sitter. On the day Gary took Jessie out for two walks and posted some photos on Rover. Jessie looked so chilled out and relaxed in the photos. We are so happy with how it turned out that we have booked Jessie’s second stay with Gary.”

“Ed and Nat were great, they were really accommodating to meet Rufus beforehand so we knew he’d be okay. The communication was fantastic, they kept us updated throughout the day and Rufus seemed to have a good day. Would definitely recommend and use again!”

“Petra is so lovely and reassuring! She's very responsive to messages and very reliable. This was our first time leaving Indy for the day with Petra and he seemed to get on really well with her, as he came home happy and tired - got straight into bed once he was back which is a good sign of a day well spent! Petra was great at taking on board Indy's usual routine and need for extra care over his diet (as he has a number of allergies) so I felt confident that he'd be in good hands. He'll be staying with Petra for a longer period soon and I feel confident knowing he'll be happy with her. Thank you Petra! x”

“Carolina was such a gem with Churro! She’s friendly & loving & Churro got along with her dog Tony. She shared updates regularly giving me peace of mind knowing my pup was settled. Totally recommend!!”

“Jahnavi went over and above to look after my small Pomeranian, and took care attending to her specific requirements. Forgot her treat box and Jahnavi even offered to drop it round! Would not hesitate to book her again, 5 stars!”

“Simba had a lovely day with Chandrashekar. We got lots of photos and updates and it was like a home away from home, and a good family atmosphere. Their dog is very friendly and both Simba and Misty had a lot of playful time. Will definitely book again.”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Watford
She was so lovely and friendly, and our dog had the absolute best time staying with her! Located super close to the Harry Potter Studio Tour, she made everything so easy for us. Our pup was so happy and well cared for—we couldn't have asked for a better experience!
Denise is very friendly and looked after our 5 year old Labrador girl Ida while we were visiting Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Tour. Our dog was totally fine when we picked her up in the late afternoon. We thank Denise for her great service. Regards Bettina

I’ve rebooked Loredana several times and she is just the best! My puppy Reesey absolutely adored her, and would run to her more than me! I felt so at peace knowing he was safe with her, she replied quickly to all queries and gave loads of updates through the app. Couldn’t recommend more, I am forever in her favour.

Abigail is such a lovely and caring person who truly loves animals! Our dog had an amazing day with her. She took the time to learn about his habits and routine to make sure he was as happy and comfortable as possible. As this was our first experience with a pet sitter, we couldn’t be happier. Thank you again, Abigail, for making our day without him so much more relaxing and worry-free. We would be delighted to have her look after our dog again!

This was our very first experience using Rover, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! From the very first moment, she and her husband made us feel completely at ease. They took wonderful care of our puppy, Thea, with so much kindness, patience, and genuine love. It was clear that they truly care about animals and treat them like family. We also received lovely photos and updates, which meant so much to us and made us feel reassured while we were away. We are incredibly grateful for such a wonderful experience and wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again. We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and genuinely passionate about dogs. Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of Thea. We hope to see you again soon!

Siobhan did an amazing job looking after my 9-month-old puppy on the 2nd of July. Obi came back to me incredibly happy, tired out, and very well-cared for. It’s such a peace of mind knowing he was in great hands. He is already looking forward to his next stay! Thanks so much, Siobhan!

We couldn’t be happier with how Danielle looked after Teddy. He had regular walks, lots of garden playtime, and was cared for so lovingly throughout. It really felt like she treated him as one of her own, which meant so much to us. Danielle also kept us regularly updated with photos and videos, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Teddy was happy, relaxed and clearly in great hands. Thank you so much and see you again soon!

Eva was so welcoming to Skye and Skye loved her instantly. She just watched me walk away. I’m always nervous leaving Skye but she reassured me she’d be fine and kept us updated on Skye throughout the day. We would 100% use Eva again. Possibly next week! Thank you SO much

Pandora is a very kind lady. Before I entrusted her with my dog, she asked very carefully and wanted to know all the important information. It was clear that she truly cares about dogs and that she is a good person. My dog Luna spent the whole day with her. I picked her up in the evening; she had been outside with Luna and they had plenty of activities.

Claudia, looked after our one year old Pointer during the day for us, whilst we were away and our daughter was working. It was the first time he spent time without us, but he settled in quickly and was soon eager to join Claudia and her partner each morning. They were amazing. Percy is a big and bouncy ball of energy and they handled him brilliantly. He received lots of hugs and attention, regular walks in the park opposite their home and play time in their private garden. We would definitely use Claudia and her partner again and know Percy will be safe and happy in their care.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
