“This is the second time Hattie has stayed with Sabrina and Adriano and she was clearly delighted to be back. She ran up the path and stood wagging her tail furiously at the door waiting to be able to go in and greet her friends again. We had photos to show how settled and relaxed she was during her stay. They take great care of her, understand her dietary requirements and provide the right environment for both exercise and rest. Thank you to both of you.”

“Big thank you to Sammi and her boyfriend! She looked after Honey so well — she came home incredibly happy and relaxed. It’s clear she was given lots of love, playtime, and plenty of walks. Communication was fantastic throughout, with regular updates. Would absolutely recommend and will definitely book again!”

“Eva did a brilliant job looking after our dog. From the initial meet-and-great to make sure we were comfortable, to the regular updates and photos - Eva put a lot of care and attention into making sure he was happy and well looked after. I would absolutely recommend her and would use her again without hesitation.”

“Buddy recently had daycare and an overnight stay, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. I loved receiving frequent updates, and it was clear he had a great time, especially spending time with Flossy. Buddy came home happy and relaxed. I would highly recommend!”

“Pandora was amazing with Archie. He seemed to feel very much at home with her and I she made me feel very comfortable with leaving him. Will definitely be coming back.”

“Skye stayed her first night with Ashwini - trial before forthcoming onboading for a week. Was very pleased to see she settled in very well and from within a short time. I was provided regular updates with pictures and videos. It was so obvious to see she had settled and enjoyed her time when picking her up the following day. Huge relief! Thank you Ashwini!”

“Ezra thoroughly enjoyed his stay with Mina, who quickly made him feel at home and treated him to some lovely walks. Mina also provided frequent updates, including pictures and videos, which really put our minds at ease.”

About: I’ve grown up with a Doberman. Taken him for walks, fed him and looked after him with all the love till the end of his life :) I work remotely from home. With an early start I typically end my day by 4:30, giving me plenty of time for walks and play. I have a fenced garden as well as a a huge park right opposite my home with plenty of dog walkers to give a healthy play time to any dog.
“Thank you for taking on the dogs with short notice and have looked after them with such great care and love. I am so pleased to have found Abigail who could tolerate and accept the mischievous character of my two beagles and she has spent time trying to understand their routine, habits, likes and dislikes and accommodate them. Would use Abigail again!”

About: I have over 7 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. I’m very attentive to each dog’s needs, routine, and comfort, whether it’s energetic walks, playtime, or calm companionship. I live with my dog Moon, a very friendly and social Pomsky, so I’m especially comfortable hosting dogs who enjoy company and interaction. I understand dog behavior well, including dogs who are sensitive or don’t enjoy being alone, and I always adapt my care to help them feel safe and relaxed. Dogs in my care are treated like family: they get genuine attention, regular walks, and a welcoming environment where they truly feel at home. I’ve recently moved to the area and currently have a lot of free time, which I’m happy to dedicate to caring for dogs whose owners may have busy schedules. I’m home most of the day and very flexible, whether for walks, daytime care, or overnight stays. I live with my dog Moon, who loves being surrounded by others, both at home and on walks. Your dog will always have company, attention, and plenty of outdoor time in a calm and caring environment. My care truly adapts to the service and to each dog’s needs. I am very flexible and always follow the owner’s preferences and routines. For walks, I adjust the pace, duration, and environment to the dog. If a dog has good recall and the owner agrees, I’m happy to offer safe off-leash walks so they can fully enjoy their time, often alongside my dog Moon, who is very social. For drop-in visits or care in the owner’s home, I strictly follow instructions regarding feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific habits. My priority is to keep the dog relaxed by maintaining their usual routine. For boarding or daycare in my home, dogs receive the same level of care and affection as my own dog: regular walks, playtime, calm moments, and constant attention. Dogs are never treated as “guests” but as part of the household. Overall, my approach is based on trust, flexibility, and genuine care, so both dogs and owners feel completely at ease.
“Leanne looked after Bruce, my large mixed bull breed, for 5 nights. From making the enquiry, she was really responsive and we agreed an initial meet, so her and her family could meet Bruce, this went well so we agreed the dates. I dropped Bruce off, and Leann already had experience with large breeds and e collar training. This really put me at ease when I left! She sent .e regulat daily updates and photos sp I could see how settled bruce was with them. Wheb i arrived to collect him, he was playing with Leannes son in the garden, really happy. I would not hesitate to recommend Leanne, she gave Bruce love and time and that made him a happy boy! I would also use Leanne in the future. Thank you so much for looking after my 50kg baby!”

“Kavinda recently looked after my 11-month-old golden retriever, Joey, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the care he provided. Joey is a fussy eater, but Kavinda was incredibly patient and made sure he was well-fed and comfortable throughout his stay. He may not be the most talkative person, but Kavinda’s love for dogs is clear. He looks after them in a calm, safe, and clean environment, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. He’s also trained in dog grooming, so not only was Joey well cared for, but he came back looking and feeling great. I’d highly recommend Kavinda to anyone looking for a trustworthy, experienced, and caring dog sitter or groomer.”

“Me and Joey ıs very happy to meet Edward and Natalie, will definitely book with them again. They care a lot everything about your dog and they updated me how it was going with Joey . I am very happy with everything.”

“It’s always difficult deciding on a sitter to look after our precious pets. Katarzyna and her adult daughter Sylwia looked after Lily for 8 days in May 2025. We met both at their home before making our booking and knew immediately that they were our perfect match. They live in a beautiful safe home with a fully enclosed garden and sent us regular updates and photos of how Lily had settled in immediately. I think they both truly fell in love with Lily as Lily did with them and I am quite sure they will miss her as much as she will them. We will definitely be entrusting Lily’s care to them again and are already looking for our next holiday. Thank you both for being so loving and caring. xxx”

Abigail provided a lovely home for Yoshi while we were away. She took great interest in every detail of his care routine, feeding, etc., and Yoshi was very happy to be there. Communication was excellent, with daily updates on his activities. We would highly recommend Abigail to other dog owners who want to be assured their dog is in a safe, friendly, and secure environment.

We used Charlotte for the first sitter experience for our boy, and it was an absolute delight! Charlotte is clearly a very dog-oriented person who’s passionate about dogs thriving in a happy and healthy environment! She was very sweet and very communicative! Our boy came home happy as Larry! We will definitely use her again 🥰 thank you Charlotte!

I recently left Maya, our little Jack Russell, in Danielle’s care for a full week while we were away, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Maya is usually quite a nervous dog, but she absolutely thrived with Danielle: happy, relaxed, and clearly having a wonderful time. Danielle kept us updated twice a day with messages, videos and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind. She was incredibly attentive, making sure Maya had the right amount of affection, stimulation, and rest. During the heatwave, she was especially thoughtful, taking Maya out only during the coolest hours and ensuring she stayed comfortable and safe. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely understands and adapts to a dog’s personality and needs, but Danielle does exactly that. We came home to a very content, well‑looked‑after Maya. Highly recommended.

Nina is brilliant ! I could already tell she would be an excellent dog sitter when my dog was so excited to meet her ! He only stayed over for one night but I know he was well looked after. She sent updates and photos of my dog, I didn’t even have to ask for updates ! I could tell he had a really nice time. Excellent service , replies extremely fast and has flexible timing. Would highly recommend.

Eva is an excellent dog sitter. She has looked after my toy poodle a few time now and I have always felt completely confident leaving him with her. Her communication is great, she sends regular updates, and Corby is always genuinely happy to see her. I would happily recommend Eva to anyone looking for a reliable, caring and trustworthy sitter.

Lexie was a fantastic sitter. She arranged a meet and greet for myself and Lola. Her place is suitable for looking after dogs, and she went the extra mile to make sure Lola was comfortable e.g. cooling pads because of the heatwave. Every picture Lola looked like she was enjoying herself. From my pov, Lexie was kind, communicative and easygoing which just meant it was one thing less on my mind

Izabela took such wonderful care of my pup Ronnie! She kept me updated each day with how he was getting on and truly treated him as if he was her own. She had him during both a heatwave and unexpected thunderstorm and I couldn’t have had anyone better care for him. He was very sad to leave and when I need help again will definitely be rebooking as well as recommending Izabela to friends and family! Thank you again ☺️

We had a bit of an emergency and had to travel for two days with only 24 hour advance warning. It is hard to find anyone at such a short notice, but Eric came through and hosted Misha for two days. He did a very good job and we had regular updates. Highly recommend.

Buddy recently had daycare and an overnight stay, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. I loved receiving frequent updates, and it was clear he had a great time, especially spending time with Flossy. Buddy came home happy and relaxed. I would highly recommend!

Cannot recommend Siobhan and Freddie (and Kinnie!) enough, for both long and short stays. They truly welcome my Harvey into their family every time he stays, and I can tell from the many pics and video updates that he feels so loved and safe with them. Every time he comes home extremely calm, and it’s wonderful to know he is being taken care of beautifully when I am on holiday. They also seem to really enjoy looking after him which is so lovely and reassuring. Your dog will be loved like one of the family! Would choose these guys every time :) thanks again!

Ashwini was fantastic with Rosa! I received daily photo updates and peace of mind knowing Rosa was in such responsible hands. She even went above and beyond to comfort Rosa during a bad thunderstorm. Rosa loved her stay so much she was hesitant to leave! Highly recommended!

Madeleine looked after Ezra fantastically well during his recent stay, making him feel comfortable and at home from the outset. We received daily updates and pictures throughout Ezra’s stay which really put our minds at ease. Would not hesitate to recommend Madeleine to others and would have certainly contacted Madeleine again if she were not moving out of the area.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
