“I feel very lucky to have Sabina as a cat sitter. She’s cat sat for us on multiple occasions now, and each time has been reliable and communicative and takes great care of our cat. Sabina consistently goes above and beyond. Thank you, Sabina!”

“Amy looked after our cat Sylvie whilst we were on holiday. Amy is so friendly, caring and highly professional - we had daily video updates whilst we were away and Sylvie really loved Amy. I would 100% recommend using Amy’s cat sitting service and we will definitely be getting Amy back whenever we next go away! Thank you! 😊 x”

“Both cats were happy and chilled when we got home. Eva was very professional and considerate, even when an upsetting event occured. I would certainly recommend Eva & use her again in the future.”

About: I've grown up with cats from a young age and currently have one at my family’s home. I also love dogs and have taken care of them (walking & feeding) for neighbours and friends over the last few years. I’m currently on a career break and just returned from a 3-month trip across South America. I’m looking forward to staying active during this period which means more time and flexibility to look after your furry friends. I can be flexible to take last-minute drop-in, feeding, and walking requests. As a cat-owner myself, I understand the importance of communicating updates, so I will make sure we are aligned on this to make sure you feel comfortable at all times!
About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life, growing up with breeds like Chow Chow, Golden Retriever, Samoyed, and Alaskan Malamute, and I currently care for my own Czech Wolfdog. This lifelong experience has given me a deep understanding of dogs’ unique needs and personalities. Additionally, I’ve worked closely with professional dog trainers, which has taught me how to read a dog’s behavior and proactively manage situations during walks to avoid potential triggers. Whether it’s providing companionship, ensuring safety, or catering to the specific needs of different breeds, I’m confident in offering top-notch care for your furry friends. I have extensive experience caring for medium and large-breed dogs, having raised several over the years, and I am currently living with a Czech Wolfdog and a maine coon. I work full-time from home, which allows me to provide plenty of attention, structure, and companionship throughout the day. We live in an excellent area with access to large parks and beautiful nature spots. I regularly take dogs out for long walks, hikes, and play sessions, whether by car or on foot. When we’re not exploring nearby parks, my spacious, fully fenced back garden offers a safe and enjoyable space for dogs to roam, relax, and play freely. Dog care is part of my everyday life — I truly enjoy spending time with them, helping them stay active, engaged, and happy. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets, whether it’s in my home or a pet owner’s home. I create a calm and comfortable environment for the pets, ensuring they feel secure and happy at all times. I’m highly attentive to their needs, from maintaining regular feeding and walking schedules to keeping their surroundings clean and safe. During walks, I’m vigilant about their interactions with other animals and the environment, avoiding potential triggers and ensuring their safety on busy streets or parks. I also communicate openly with pet owners, providing updates and following any specific care instructions they have. My goal is to build trust with both the pets and their owners, ensuring everyone feels confident and at ease.

About: I have over 7 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. I’m very attentive to each dog’s needs, routine, and comfort, whether it’s energetic walks, playtime, or calm companionship. I live with my dog Moon, a very friendly and social Pomsky, so I’m especially comfortable hosting dogs who enjoy company and interaction. I understand dog behavior well, including dogs who are sensitive or don’t enjoy being alone, and I always adapt my care to help them feel safe and relaxed. Dogs in my care are treated like family: they get genuine attention, regular walks, and a welcoming environment where they truly feel at home. I’ve recently moved to the area and currently have a lot of free time, which I’m happy to dedicate to caring for dogs whose owners may have busy schedules. I’m home most of the day and very flexible, whether for walks, daytime care, or overnight stays. I live with my dog Moon, who loves being surrounded by others, both at home and on walks. Your dog will always have company, attention, and plenty of outdoor time in a calm and caring environment. My care truly adapts to the service and to each dog’s needs. I am very flexible and always follow the owner’s preferences and routines. For walks, I adjust the pace, duration, and environment to the dog. If a dog has good recall and the owner agrees, I’m happy to offer safe off-leash walks so they can fully enjoy their time, often alongside my dog Moon, who is very social. For drop-in visits or care in the owner’s home, I strictly follow instructions regarding feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific habits. My priority is to keep the dog relaxed by maintaining their usual routine. For boarding or daycare in my home, dogs receive the same level of care and affection as my own dog: regular walks, playtime, calm moments, and constant attention. Dogs are never treated as “guests” but as part of the household. Overall, my approach is based on trust, flexibility, and genuine care, so both dogs and owners feel completely at ease.
About: Hi, I'm Susie 😊 Animals have been my one true passion ever since I can remember! My animal care journey started with guinea pigs and rabbits when I volunteered at a children's farm from 2016-2018. I adopted my own pair of guinea pigs from here and now have 4 girls of my own 🩷 I then volunteered with the National Animal Welfare trust, gaining experience with dogs and cats of all sizes and temperments. I worked with many animals with behavioural difficulties, health conditions and disabilities, which involved administering medication. I also learnt how to effectively train dogs and puppies through positive reinforcement during my time at NAWT. Unfortunately, volunteering was not allowed to continue during the pandemic, so I moved to providing private pet sitting, dog training and dog walking when it was allowed. My first client was an energetic field spaniel called Issy who you can see a picture of on my profile along with many of the other pets I've taken care of 🥰 At uni in Nottingham, I was ran the dog society and connected with many owners through organising group dog walks. I learnt so much about the different connections between pups and their owners and found this experience invaluable. I'm looking forward to loving more cats and dogs like family and am confident that I can guarantee the highest quality care 🐾 I am currently available to look after both cats and dogs in your own home and provide enriching local dog walks at all times. Please note that I don't drive but as long as you're accessible by bus and/or walk, I'm more than happy to make the journey 😊 I can look after your pets in your own home exactly as they are used to, for their maximum comfort. I am confident walking all breeds and following specific instructions tailored to your pets' individual needs.
“Anna made us feel really comfortable. We were incredibly anxious about leaving our 9 week old puppy alone in the mornings but she met his before the day and gave us regular updates. We will definitely be contacting her again. She was super reassuring and even alerted us to a weed in our garden we didn't know was toxic. We've had a really easy week because of her and are super thankful.”
About: I’ve had animals my whole life and have gained years of hands-on experience caring for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, and smaller animals. Over the years, I’ve also regularly looked after friends’ and family members’ pets, helping with feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, and providing companionship while they were away. I’m comfortable with pets of different ages, sizes( having had an American Akita myself), and temperaments, and I always make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for in my company. I’m reliable, patient, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs, whether that means sticking to a routine, giving extra exercise, or simply providing plenty of affection and attention. I’m currently working full time but can be made available most evenings during the week. I am fully flexible at weekends and when I’m not spending time with my lovely dog i will happily dedicate my time to your fur babies. I have a fenced garden and one friendly dog to keep your fur baby company. My dog is very content and will be happy to be kept separate if required, he’s such a lovely boy.

About: Hi! I’m a reliable, calm and animal-loving pet sitter — and I’m also a Registered Veterinary Nurse. Caring for animals isn’t just something I enjoy, it’s my profession and passion. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets — they’re family. My goal is always to keep routines consistent, give lots of attention, and make your pet feel safe, relaxed and happy while you’re away. Due to my profession as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, I work on a shift-based rota. This means my availability can vary from week to week. I will always do my best to accommodate your pet’s routine, however lunchtime drop-in visits may not always be possible depending on my shift pattern and your location. Even so, I am flexible where I can be and will communicate clearly and in advance to ensure your pet’s care is consistently covered and never compromised. Early morning, evening, and overnight visits are often more reliably available. Your pet’s safety, wellbeing and comfort are always my highest priority. As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, I bring professional clinical knowledge and a calm, confident approach to every visit, ensuring your pet is cared for safely and appropriately at all times. I take time to understand each pet’s individual needs, routine, and personality so they can feel secure in their own home environment. I always work gently and patiently, never forcing interaction and allowing pets to approach me in their own time. You can trust that: - I closely observe your pet for any changes in behaviour or health - I follow all care instructions carefully and precisely - I maintain a clean, safe and stress-free environment during every visit - I treat your home with respect and care at all times - I provide clear updates so you always feel reassured while you’re away My goal is to create a calm, consistent and trustworthy experience for both you and your pet, giving you complete peace of mind knowing they are in experienced and caring hands.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Watford
I can’t explain how happy I was with Sophia! She was the best person to choose, she was caring and always listened to whatever I requested. She left everything sparkling clean and even watered my plants when the weather was crazy hot. I am so glad she was the person to take care of my house and my two babies. I hope she won’t move away so I can book with her in the future 🩷 all the best Sophia and thank you so so much once more 🩷

Lara was fantastic. She met us a few days before we needed her to cat sit for us to show the cats and the house system. She was in constant communication with us giving updates of my cats. She’s such a friendly person and my cats loved her. Can’t recommend her enough!
Iuliia is a lovely pet sitter who genuinely cares about animals - we left our two cats in her care. She was brilliant giving me regular updates and sharing videos. She also made the effort to clean the litter trays and keep the area tidy for when we returned. Thank you luliia x

Ana has cared for our kitties many times as we’re often away on business. She takes wonderful care of them and we always know they’re in good hands. Two are quite old (19 & 21!) so having a carer we can trust is paramount. She’s always so sweet and helpful, and the kitties love her too.

Teresa was very responsive which I really appreciated since it was a last-minute booking. My cats got on with her immediately at the first meeting, and were really well cared for while I was away - purring and tails up when I came back! Would definitely book again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
