“Georgina took good care of our 15 month old labrador retreiver - her communication was great, she visited us beforehand to make sure everyone was happy and on the day she was punctual despite the early start on a Sunday, and sent us photos through the day! We're really happy with Georgina and look forward to working with her again in the future to look after our pup!”

About: I have looked after cats for over 20 years and want to provide you with the best possible service for your beloved cat at home I am currently work part time and I am self employed so I can pick and choose my hours. Happy to have cats to stay I spend time with your cat getting to know him/her and play and stimulate them. Obviously they need to have a comfortable bed and food
About: Hello, thanks for taking the time to read my wagtastic profile: I am a genuine, loving dog walker and boarder with over 16 years of experience caring for various dogs, since I was 13 years old, with my parents, who worked for one of the first dog boarding and walking companies in the UK (Caddington Pet Services, now Best for Pets). I am passionate about dog care and love going on long walks (especially playing fetch with the more energetic breeds!) around the local fields, including Ruislip Woods and many other green spaces near Northwood. I live with my partner in Northwood, and we plan on getting our own working dog this year. I have boarded over 100 dogs since starting to dog sit over 16 years ago, so I have extensive knowledge of breed behaviours and customer service. For dog walking and drop-in visits: I specialise in regular, recurring care and therefore only accept *Recurring Bookings* of 2+ visits per week. This allows me to build consistency, routine, and trust with your dog, which leads to calmer, happier visits. In addition to the usual Rover service by many sitters on here, I offer: • Specialist, extended visits over an hour up to 12 hours, which can include multiple walks and stimulation games in that time • First-class customer service and visits tailored to your dog's needs • Reinforcement of any training that your dog is undergoing with a qualified dog trainer, such as command reinforcement or reward-based training techniques Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, and I hope to see you and your fellow companion soon! I currently do not work, so I am flexible to walk dogs anytime, including mornings, afternoons, or evenings. I usually only ask to avoid the rush hour. I will ask about your pet's anxieties, phobias and any behavioural problems upon the first visit. I am happy to walk your dog off-leash, but they must have excellent recall. I usually walk your dog on a lead in an enclosed park for the first few weeks to establish myself as the pack leader and build trust.

About: I am a maths teacher in a hospital and teach children in both short- and long- term stays and recurring stays. I enjoy travelling, meeting new people (and animals) and reading and watching psychological thrillers.
“Anna is not just a great pet sitter, but she is also an amazing and kind person! She kept us updated all day with videos and photos of our baby. Loullie is not just a pet for us, she is like our daughter and it is wonderful to know that we found a person who cares and not just understand that, but also treats her with all love and attention she deserves. We will trust Anna to look after Loullie always we need!”

“Becca is absolutely fantastic. She’s looked after our 10 week old cocker spaniel Maisie a few times now and is so wonderful with her. Maisie absolutely adores her and we love the updates. Friendly, communicative and clearly super knowledgeable. Would highly recommend and Maisie can’t wait to see her again!”

“Megan was great looking after Leo who took to her quickly. She was highly communicative and sent lots of pics, and managed the situation brilliantly and in good humour. when she got locked in the bathroom due to a faulty lock. Will definitely ask Megan to sit / walk Leo again.”

About: Hi, I'm Sarah! I've been surrounded by animals for as long as I can remember, having grown up with pets throughout my childhood, and I currently have a dog of my own. Caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life, so looking after dogs comes naturally to me. I absolutely adore dogs, and every dog that stays with me is treated as if they were my own. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs, so i provide plenty of love, patience, care and attention to ensure they feel safe, happy and comfortable while you're away. I believe dogs thrive when they're given both physical exercise and mental stimulation, so regular walks, playtime and enrichment are all part of the care i provide. Whether your dog enjoys long adventures, gentle strolls or simply lots of cuddles on the sofa. My goal is to make sure they enjoy themselves just as much as you enjoy your time away. As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family member. You can have peace of mind knowing your dog will be cared for with kindness, integrity and genuine affection every step of the way. I'm currently on my summer break from working in a school, so for the next six weeks I have plenty of time to dedicate to caring for your dog. After the holidays, I'll continue to be available on weekends. Your dog's routine will always be my priority, with walks twice a day as standard, and three times a day if they enjoy extra exercise or need additional stimulation. I understand that every dog is different, so I'm happy to adapt to their usual routine and energy levels to ensure they feel comfortable, happy and well cared for. Your dog's safety, happiness and wellbeing are my top priorities. We have a secure, enclosed garden where dogs can safely play, explore and go to the toilet whenever they need. I also have plenty of toys and enjoy spending quality time playing games and providing mental stimulation to keep dogs happy and engaged. I have a crate available if your dog is crate trained or if you would prefer them to have their own quiet space. Every dog in my care will be treated like a member of the family, receiving lots of love, patience and attention in a safe, calm and caring home. I will always follow your instructions regarding feeding, medication, walks and routines so your dog feels as settled and comfortable as possible.

“Ellen is a wonderful sitter — Chaves has stayed with her more than once and she's coming back again this week, which speaks for itself. She did a meet and greet first, asked all the right questions, and kept me updated the whole time. Easygoing, caring, and reliable. Chaves and I are lucky to have found her!☺️🐶”

“Suman did an incredible job looking after our dog and home. She made us feel very comfortable and confident leaving our senior dog in her care. She’s very responsible and thoughtful, and we really loved how clean she left our home! I’d highly recommend her if you’re looking for a sitter for your pet. Wonderful job!”

“Sena recently looked after our kitten Bruno on a housesitting basis for 1 week. It was our first time using the type of service and Sena was really professional, responsive and immediately put us at ease. Right from the meet and greet, we knew Bruno would be in good hands! We received daily photo and video updates and the communication has been brilliant throughout the whole process. We cannot recommend Sena highly enough and definitely be reaching out to her again next time we need a sitter!”

Lexie was absolutely fantastic; she gave me such peace of mind with updates whilst I was away and followed Kiba’s routine to a tee. I was thrilled to see how excited Kiba was to see Lexi when the booking started; she clearly remembered her from the meet and greet a few weeks prior. Lexie also had no issues administering last minute medication and informed me of any changes she had noticed for me to tell my vet on my return. There are very few people I trust to look after Kiba but Lexie is definitely one of them- 100% would recommend.

Great cat sitter! She's amazing with cats. Before I left my girl, I noticed that she had a paw injury. Ellesha checked my baby's paw everyday and sent me updates on she was healing. She also successfully gave her pain meds for 4 days. She took very good care of our home as well. Thanks! I came home to 2 happy cats 🩵

Nina has been amazing with our dog. She looked after him for one week while we were on holiday and he had the best time. It was the first time he didn’t feel depressed and ate from day one (he usually goes on hunger strikes when we leave). She kept us updated every day, sent us pictures and videos of him and it was very easy to communicate. Nina went above beyond to look after him and we are extremely happy that we found her. Will definitely use again and highly recommend.

Anna and Josh were great with our two senior dogs - who can be a handful. They kept us updated with regular messages and pictures. The whole process was very professional and we could just relax and enjoy our holiday. Our house was well kept and clean on our return. We highly recommend them!

Great housesitting from Charlotte. We left our 4months old puppy for the first time with someone else and Charlotte helped us not to feel worried and confident we left our puppy in good hands. Everything went perfectly. Charlotte also kindly privided feedback and gave advice on food and training.

We booked Jodie in for an initial meeting with our pets and we were very happy witth her. She was punctual, easy to work with and most importantly, of course, she was great with the animals. Our nervous dog Ted felt at ease with her and accepted scritches and treats, so we will definitely be booking Jodie again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Watford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Watford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
