“We had such a wonderful experience with Marissa! She was incredibly responsive, attentive, and patient, especially while getting to know our rescue and taking the time to understand his personality and needs. She was kind, caring, and really took the time to build his trust, which meant so much to us. We felt completely reassured knowing he was in such capable and loving hands. She also left the house tidy and clean! She was absolutely fabulous, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!”

“Kadri has visited my home on several occasions and has always interacted wonderfully with my dog. She has a warm, calm, and caring approach, and I have found her to be responsible, reliable, and dependable. I would not hesitate to recommend her as a dog sitter. She does a fantastic job and is someone I trust completely with my pet.”

About: 6 years of dog walking experience, from high energy pups to slow old pals. Recently moved to London and ready to meet some new poochie pets! I am a self-employed actress so I have long gaps in my schedule where I can give all the time in the world to your pooch. I’m dedicated to keeping with your routine to ensure your pet is as happy and stress-free as possible. I’m a trusted dog walker of 6 years and counting.
“Perfect service. Caroline is wonderful, my dog gets anxious and she calmed him immediately and they are now best friends. Will definitely use her services again, 5 star! X”

“I cannot recommend Roxanne highly enough! She has looked after my dog Alby twice now and both times have been absolutely brilliant. From the moment I left him with her, it was clear she genuinely cares — she was super attentive, proactive with updates, and made sure Alby felt completely at home. He came back happy, relaxed and tail-wagging, which says it all really! It's such a relief to find someone you can truly trust with your fur baby. Roxanne is an absolute gem and we will 100% be booking her again. Thank you so much ❤️❤️”

“Isabel is great with Obi - good energy and managed to create bond immediately. Isabel sent me updates and I felt Obi was in good hands. Good communication and a great pet sitter! Isabel is very professional and asked about health issues, food preferences and other behavioural preferences that Obi has -”

About: I had pets almost all my life and the period I didn’t, I looked after friends dogs and cats whenever they went on holidays. I have a cockapoo, Lola, she’s the most beautiful girl in the world, but aren’t they all in our eyes? I also have two guinea pigs, Sadie and Oli, they are our actual ones, but they were many more before them. Sometimes my friend Kate, brings Pepsi, her moggie and she also stay with us. Other times is Carolyn who just got herself Monty a cross cockapoo/ jack Russell. Carolyn works at the local hospice and her schedule makes her work double shifts sometimes, so I look after Monty as well. Our place is so full of love, because they are in it. All pet owners will understand.
“Emily’s communication was excellent and, as we have never used the App before, this was very reassuring. She was also flexible and understanding with timings. Cleo, our cockapoo, took to Emily immediately - even though like many cockapoos she can be a little anxious! Emily sent us an update while we were away and Cleo seemed very happy when we arrived back (although did attempt to leave with Emily - which can only be a good sign!)”

“Emma looked after our dog over two weekends in short notice. She sent lots of cute updates and we could tell she had built a great bond with our dog and we felt she was very safe in her care. Emma was very flexible and responsible 👍👍”

“Alex is absolutely wonderful, inside and out! We cannot recommend her enough. We felt very comfortable having Alex dog sit our cockapoo in our home and received daily pictures and updates, which was very lovely to see our pooch so happy and loved whilst being away. We returned to a very happy dog and clean, warm home. She certainly went the extra mile for us. Thank you again so much Alex, we are certain Nellie will miss you and look forward to using your wonderful services again soon.”

“Tanys really went above and beyond for our dog, Roxy, who can be very shy and nervous around new people. She was incredibly patient and took the time to build Roxy's trust. We arranged two meet-and-greet walks, and even on the first one Roxy was happy sitting on Tanys' lap, which says a lot about how comfortable she felt with her. Throughout the walks and her overnight stay, Tanys kept me updated through Rover with regular messages and photos, which gave me great peace of mind. The overnight stay was also arranged at relatively short notice, and she was very accommodating and had a lovely night with the pooch and even took her for a long walk the following day so Roxy was tired out perfectly. It's clear that Tanys genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy dog walker or sitter. We will definitely be using her again and again if we can!”

“Dan is always excellent - he takes great care of our dog and was more than happy to take on a friend's at late notice. We really appreciate how easy to communicate with he is, and his flexibility”

“Izzy did such a fantastic job of looking after our kitten Anzu - and Anzu absolutely loved her! We got photo and video updates, and Anzu has never looked as happy. Izzy is a natural with cats. She also stayed and kept our house in nice condition, and even put the bin out for us which we were grateful for. We really hope we can use Izzy again! ”

“Amelia was fantastic with our 6-month-old pup! She took great care of him, including a nice walk, and kept us updated throughout. Super responsive and friendly—would definitely recommend and book again!”

Diana was excellent in communicating. She visited beforehand to meet Tammy who, uncharacteristically, seemed to take an instant like to her. Diana stayed for 4 nights and kept the flat tidy, the litter tray spotless, and stripped the bed before leaving. Tammy seemed a little disappointed to see us back so soon.

Tanys was amazing with Casper, we got back home and Casper was so relaxed with her. Immediately she got to our home Casper took to her immediately. She has such a wonderful disposition and is amazing with animals. I didn’t worry about Casper because I knew he was in safe hands. Will definitely be booking Tanys again :)

Over the past few months, Kadri has spent time with my dog on several occasions and has consistently been kind, patient, and attentive. She has a calm and reassuring manner, and I have always found her to be responsible and reliable. I would have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.

Katie looked after Luna in our home for 4 nights. We really appreciated how much she already knew about sighthounds and how much care she took in going over Luna’s care instructions with us. The weather was going to be rainy with potential thunder storms but we felt very reassured Luna would be in safe hands. We were away at a festival and agreed pre arranged times we would access WiFi each day. Katie provided updates and photos at every check in, she is an excellent communicator, clearly great with dogs and it was lovely to see Luna being herself and having a fab time with Katie. Highly recommend, thank you!

Cheryl is a loving sitter. My dog got the best life while we were away. With daily updates and exceptional communication throughout my whole holiday. I had peace of mind, my dog looked content and happy. She took exceptional care of my fur baby. If could ever recommend a sitter it would be Cheryl. We have decided that when ever we go away again we will definitely book Cheryl to look after Ava. Exceptional care and love ❤️ Dod mom Mel

Heather did a fantastic job looking after both my cat and my rabbit while I was abroad. The cat has specific medical requirements when it comes to the feeding and Heather made sure that everything was done correctly as my cat has stage one kidney disease and needs a little extra care. She is very sweet and communication also went very well as she kept me updated with both photos and videos. First time I had a catsitter look after the pets and I felt so lucky with Heather. Would highly recommend her to all of you!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Barnet walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Barnet choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
