“Marian was excellent, we can highly recommend. Great feedback and communication, dog happy and well cared for, as was the house. He even watered the plants, very kind, would definitely book again. Thank you Marian”

“Caroline was great from beginning to end! She was happy to pop round for a meet & greet before the booking - Bailey loved her! She kept me updated during the sitting, sending pics and videos of Bailey looking so comfortable and happy in her company! Made me feel totally at ease. Will definitely be booking again, thanks Caroline! X”

“I cannot recommend Roxanne highly enough! She has looked after my dog Alby twice now and both times have been absolutely brilliant. From the moment I left him with her, it was clear she genuinely cares — she was super attentive, proactive with updates, and made sure Alby felt completely at home. He came back happy, relaxed and tail-wagging, which says it all really! It's such a relief to find someone you can truly trust with your fur baby. Roxanne is an absolute gem and we will 100% be booking her again. Thank you so much ❤️❤️”

About: Hi, I’m Kat! North London HR professional and dog lover who shares my home with Thoth, my 5-year-old Norwegian Forest cat. I have strong experience with senior dogs – particularly caring for an elderly Shih Tzu, managing his daily medication and special care needs. My experience includes: - Dogs from 6-month-old puppies to 14-year-olds - All breeds, all ages – I adapt to each dog's individual needs I work for a defence company (fully vetted) and offer some weekday/evening/weekend walks, drop-ins, house sitting, or overnight boarding (my place or yours). Medication management, gentle routines, personalised care – I treat every dog like my own! I work full-time in a hybrid role (3 days WFH), so I have flexible availability: - WFH days: Extra time for walks/drop-ins, or I can stay at your place (with WiFi access) - Weekdays: Available after 5pm + overnights when needed - Weekends: Free Fri–Sun, all day and night In my North London home: Thoth (my curious indoor Norwegian Forest cat) stays indoors but loves watching garden visitors from the window. The garden door stays closed, but we have a secure communal garden (fully fenced, no street access) if your dog needs space to play. No other pets nearby – neighbours don’t own pets, so it’s a calm environment. Parks nearby – just a quick 10–15 min walk away for exercise and fresh air. In your home (house sitting): I follow your routines exactly – feeding, medication, walks, playtime. Secure doors/windows always checked; I treat your home like my own. Happy to water plants, bring in post, or do light housework too.
“Cheryl was wonderful with our cats — she sent video and photo updates throughout, and honestly, we were a little jealous at how much our cats clearly preferred her company to ours. We came home to an immaculate house. We can absolutely recommend Cheryl as a cat sitter.”

“Sophia was brilliant for our nervous dog, Brolly. I thought i may have put her off initially, but she took it in her stride! Sophia sent pics to let me know how he was doing and and he was perfectly relaxed with her. Great sit for us all!”

“Emily’s communication was excellent and, as we have never used the App before, this was very reassuring. She was also flexible and understanding with timings. Cleo, our cockapoo, took to Emily immediately - even though like many cockapoos she can be a little anxious! Emily sent us an update while we were away and Cleo seemed very happy when we arrived back (although did attempt to leave with Emily - which can only be a good sign!)”

About: i have had pets all my life and have been cat sitting for the past 2 years.. i genuinely love looking after other people’s pets and making sure they are as happy as they can be while their owners are away i am a self employed yoga teacher so am very flexible (excuse the pun!)..i am available if and when needed and will work around your pet i have an enclosed garden and will follow guidelines in place at the home of the pet..i often spend time waiting for cats to come home

About: I had pets almost all my life and the period I didn’t, I looked after friends dogs and cats whenever they went on holidays. I have a cockapoo, Lola, she’s the most beautiful girl in the world, but aren’t they all in our eyes? I also have two guinea pigs, Sadie and Oli, they are our actual ones, but they were many more before them. Sometimes my friend Kate, brings Pepsi, her moggie and she also stay with us. Other times is Carolyn who just got herself Monty a cross cockapoo/ jack Russell. Carolyn works at the local hospice and her schedule makes her work double shifts sometimes, so I look after Monty as well. Our place is so full of love, because they are in it. All pet owners will understand.
“Alexandra has visited my home a few times and always interacted well with my dog. She has a warm and calm approach. I find her responsible and dependable and I fully recommend her, she makes a great dog-sitter.”

“Both Cristina and Sacha are lovely warm friendly people and they did an amazing job of looking after our dog for the day It was the first time we had left her with someone unknown to both Tanya and myself as well as little Mitzy so was a bit apprehensive , however we were soon put at ease and Mitzy had a fantastic day and thank you both for spoiling her Would definitely recommend them both and would definitely use them again”

“Harley was great with our miniature labradoodle. She was super helpful, an efficient communicator, and always friendly. She gave our dog great company, walked her, fed her, and even entertained her with a good practice run through all her tricks. Harley kept us updated with photos and short videos, which was great! Would definitely recommend Harley and book her again if needed. Thanks Harley!”

“Rhayane was really good and caring. She is a perfect sitter who gave updates regularly and took care of my Frosty so well. When we got back he looked happy, Rhayane kept the house very clean. She was proactive and gave many ideas to improve Frosty health. Would highly recommend herder pet sitting. She is very sweet and a friendly girl.”

“Poppy, Nala, and Leo love when Ashleigh comes to look after them 🐾 I get fab photos and videos of them all happy and playing, and I always know they're in safe hands. Everyone is looking forward to seeing you again later this month 😀 ”

“Both of my dogs took quickly to Katherine. She was very respectful of my pup’s quirks and it made me and them feel at ease. I will be asking for her help in the future with confidence.”

About: I have 30 years experience caring for cats and have three years experience dog sitting for friends. Our friends frequently rely on us to care for their animals when they are on holiday. Me and partner work from home full time. We have a few parks nearby us for walks at lunch time and before/ after work. We would have plenty of time to play with the dogs in between our work and the dogs could join us for long walks. We make sure to keep an eye on the dogs, and to read the signals for needing water/ toliet/ attention. We have a fenced garden that the dog can use, although we will be going for lots of walks at the nearby parks.
“Charlotte was amazing with snickers, as soon as they met each other I knew Charlotte was the right person to take care of snickers! Thank you so much for taking such good care of of her!”

Nazim made sure our American Akita King was well looked after, and kept him cool on a hot summer’s day. Nazim is friendly, professional and reached out with updates about King throughout the day which was much appreciated. Would warmly recommend, as well as book him again.

Pinar looked after my two cats and my house very well. When I got home everything was in perfect order. The house was clean and Sid and Nancy were calm and happy. I was entirely satisfied with the care they had received and am hoping she will be available again next time I need a house siter. Teresa Sladen
Ashleigh is fantastic! She took the time to understand exactly how to care for our dog Emi and was incredibly attentive to every detail. She kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which gave us real peace of mind. Our dog absolutely loves her! We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and highly recommend her.

Abigail is absolutely lovely - both as a person in general and with my very nervous dog Tarlli. Though my dog wasn't a complete angel Abigail was brilliant, keeping me updated and handling the situation. She's clearly an animal lover! Would definitely recommend to anyone considering booking her.

I would definitely recommend Diana, she was great at minding Bean. She provided updates every day and sent videos of him looking very happy/playing in the park. She was also very punctual and polite. She followed the instructions I sent her and was very respectful - the house was exactly as we'd left it. I would 100% book Diana again.

Ellie came to look after my two girls for a couple of days and she was great! She messaged me upon arrival, sent lots of pictures and videos which I loved seeing their day. And they clearly loved her upon my return. Thanks Ellie! Will definitely hire again. :)

Caroline was outstanding. She clearly has a deep love of dogs and for the first time, our elderly dog seemed unstressed when we returned from holiday. We received regular updates and videos and Caroline also made extra effort to take care of our dog during the heatwave to ensure he was safe and comfortable.

Rebeca was amazing! She looked after my cat in my home and did such a fantastic job. My cat absolutely loved her, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I received loads of photos and updates throughout, so I always knew my cat was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It was clear that Rebeca genuinely loves animals and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy cat sitter!

Caroline was amazing! We were quite anxious about leaving our 8-month-old Labrador puppy, especially as she was in season, but Caroline made the whole thing so easy from the start. She sent us loads of lovely photos and videos every day, so we could see how much fun Ruby was having and properly relax and enjoy our holiday. It was so reassuring, and it was obvious Ruby absolutely loved being with her. Communication was brilliant throughout, and Caroline even took Ruby to a pre-booked vet appointment for us, which was such a huge help. We honestly couldn't have asked for anyone better. Ruby absolutely loves Caroline, and we'll definitely be asking her to look after her again. Thank you so much, Caroline!

We are absolutely delighted with the care that Beccy offered to Nala. Her communication was brilliant, she made us feel relaxed from the very first message and gave us brilliant updates throughout the day. It’s obvious Beccy knows and understands animals very well, she recognised Nala’s personality immediately and offered her a calm and gentle greeting which meant it was easy for Nala to feel safe. We have a shy dog, but she warmed to Beccy in a matter of minutes. Which is a huge compliment. We really loved that Beccy was proactive in asking the questions she needed to help her look after all of Nalas needs. We felt more than comfortable having Beccy in our home, and she even made a fuss of our toddler which was lovely and so appreciated. I’m so glad we found you, we would love your help with Nala again in the future 🙌🏻

Jessica was fantastic. She is amazing, she had a great time with my dog Lucky. They had cuddles, played, and had a lovely rest together. How do you recommend she’s amazing and will be using her again! Thank you Jessica for also taking this on short notice ❤️

Cheryl was wonderful with our cats — she sent video and photo updates throughout, and honestly, we were a little jealous at how much our cats clearly preferred her company to ours. We came home to an immaculate house. We can absolutely recommend Cheryl as a cat sitter.

This is only the second time that Radhika has cat sat for my babies. She is so flexible and accommodating and even fed all the other critters that visit my garden! The cats all love her and it means I can escape every now and then feeling reassured and less guilty! She gets to know the characters of each cat and approaches them with extra care if they're a bit anxious. Thank you!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Barnet walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Barnet choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
