“Cheryl was a fantastic sitter for our dog Kiba! We had frequent and lovely updates whilst we were away, and Kiba seemed to love her. He has a few quirks and she handled them like a pro. We came back to a very happy dog! Would highly recommend booking Cheryl for your pet.”

About: Hi! I'm a university student who has always loved animals and have always had cats as part of a selection of pets at home. At the moment I have three cats, Toby, Daisy and Merida, and a dog. I have helped medicate both my cats and dog, be responsible for feeding and looked after neighbours cats when they've been away. Since I've been away from my pets, at university, I have become much more aware how important it is to know your animals are being well cared for. Areas I'm available in: Bounds Green, Muswell Hill, East Barnet, East and North Finchley, Cockfosters, Crouch End, Enfield, Southgate and Finchley Central. I am a quiet and gentle animal lover and will take the best possible care of your cats :)

About: Hi, I’m Kat! North London HR professional and dog lover who shares my home with Thoth, my 5-year-old Norwegian Forest cat. I have strong experience with senior dogs – particularly caring for an elderly Shih Tzu, managing his daily medication and special care needs. My experience includes: - Dogs from 6-month-old puppies to 14-year-olds - All breeds, all ages – I adapt to each dog's individual needs I work for a defence company (fully vetted) and offer some weekday/evening/weekend walks, drop-ins, house sitting, or overnight boarding (my place or yours). Medication management, gentle routines, personalised care – I treat every dog like my own! I work full-time in a hybrid role (3 days WFH), so I have flexible availability: - WFH days: Extra time for walks/drop-ins, or I can stay at your place (with WiFi access) - Weekdays: Available after 5pm + overnights when needed - Weekends: Free Fri–Sun, all day and night In my North London home: Thoth (my curious indoor Norwegian Forest cat) stays indoors but loves watching garden visitors from the window. The garden door stays closed, but we have a secure communal garden (fully fenced, no street access) if your dog needs space to play. No other pets nearby – neighbours don’t own pets, so it’s a calm environment. Parks nearby – just a quick 10–15 min walk away for exercise and fresh air. In your home (house sitting): I follow your routines exactly – feeding, medication, walks, playtime. Secure doors/windows always checked; I treat your home like my own. Happy to water plants, bring in post, or do light housework too.
“Alexandra has been looking after our dog Twiglet for the last few weeks including staying with him overnight in our home when we were away. He loves the long walks they go on and he really listens to her commands. They're becoming really good friends and she takes great care of him.”

About: Hello, fellow cat lovers! I'm Lauren and I'm a freelance content writer living in Finchley. I work from home and have completely flexible working hours, so I'm always on hand to look after your cat when you need me to. As a lifelong cat lover and a dedicated owner, I jump at the chance to hang out with new furry friends. I have two tuxedo cats called Mushroom and Crumpet, who are two year old siblings. I've had them since they were tiny, and they really are a joy. I will take care of your cat with as much love and care as I do my own.
About: I’ve grown up with cats, dogs and rabbits since being very young. I’ve had pet sitting experience for 10 years caring for neighbours dogs/cats and caring professionally for dogs/cats of the families I have nannied for. I work part-time, flexible hours. I’m usually home at least 2 full days a week (all day) and always around in the morning and evening. My house is very near various parks, so although I don’t have a garden, this makes things much nicer. I also live by some lovely walks.
About: Hi, I'm Abby! I’ve grown up with dogs, and have years of experience looking after pups of all ages, breeds and personalities. Aside from my two family dogs, I often take care of close family friend's dogs and have experience with Trusted Housesitters as well. I work from home most of the week so I'll have plenty of time to keep your dog company, give them cuddles and take them for walks. I am happy to keep you in the loop as much as you'd like, by sending regular updates and pictures! I follow each pet’s usual routine, including feeding, walks, playtime and any special care instructions, to help them feel comfortable and at home. I’m lucky to have several parks within walking distance, providing plenty of opportunities for walks, exploring and fresh air.
“Charlotte is amazing — she’s sat for us multiple times and we completely trust her. She’s totally at ease in a remote rural setting, which makes a huge difference, and both dogs absolutely love her (and they’re not easy to win over). One of our dogs is reactive, but Charlotte handles walks calmly and confidently. Our other dog is quite timid, yet feels completely safe and relaxed around her. She’s incredibly kind and just has a way about her that makes her feel like someone you’ve known for years. We always come home to a spotless house and very happy, settled dogs. Couldn’t recommend her more”

“Rosie looked after our very excitable, quite big dog for 4 days in our house and was wonderful. She followed all my many instructions, was great at communicating and we came home to a happy dog and tidy house. I would definitely book her again. Thanks Rosie 😊😊”

“Jinny was an amazing house and cat sitter over a weekend while I was away. She came by beforehand to meet Bonnie, pick up the keys, and make sure she had everything she needed, which was very thoughtful. While I was gone, she sent regular photo and video updates and clearly gave Bonnie plenty of love, playtime, and attention. I came home to a very happy cat and a perfectly neat and tidy house. Would highly recommend Jinny!”

“Rebeca was amazing! She looked after my cat in my home and did such a fantastic job. My cat absolutely loved her, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I received loads of photos and updates throughout, so I always knew my cat was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It was clear that Rebeca genuinely loves animals and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy cat sitter!”

About: I had pets almost all my life and the period I didn’t, I looked after friends dogs and cats whenever they went on holidays. I have a cockapoo, Lola, she’s the most beautiful girl in the world, but aren’t they all in our eyes? I also have two guinea pigs, Sadie and Oli, they are our actual ones, but they were many more before them. Sometimes my friend Kate, brings Pepsi, her moggie and she also stay with us. Other times is Carolyn who just got herself Monty a cross cockapoo/ jack Russell. Carolyn works at the local hospice and her schedule makes her work double shifts sometimes, so I look after Monty as well. Our place is so full of love, because they are in it. All pet owners will understand.
“Sacha and Cristina were absolutely brilliant with our dog and cat, whilst we were away for the Christmas break. Our dog is reactive and has a number of needs (he’s usually nervous when left with sitters) BUT he absolutely loved having them come to stay in our home. We had constant updates, and our minds were at ease the whole trip. When we got back home, the home was spotless. We highly recommend both to be trusted to sit your furry members of your family. We can’t wait to use them again, I know the boys will miss them ⭐”

About: Hey! I’m a huge dog lover, but unfortunately I’ve never had a dog of my own. To fill that space, I’ve been a part-time dog walker for over 4 years, so I know some great dog walking routes! I also regularly look after friends’ and family’s dogs, including longer stays of several weeks at a time. I have looked after dogs of all ages and sizes - the biggest being a 45 kilo New Zealand Shepard! I live in a ground-floor flat in Muswell Hill with a spacious enclosed garden that dogs seem to love, complete with plenty of toys :) I also have a genuine interest in dog behaviour and really enjoy training, if that’s something you’re looking for. If not, more than happy to spend our time playing and relaxing! I have a very flexible schedule and enjoy building my day around long walks or just keeping them company. I’m able to give lots of attention, and can stick to any schedule you need. Your dog can make itself at home at mine and have access to a secure enclosed garden plus plenty of space to relax. I always make sure the environment is clean, safe, and pet-friendly and I can provide regular updates and photos for reassurance. I have plenty of experience house sitting and always make sure to be respectful and reliable at all times.
“I cannot recommend Roxanne highly enough! She has looked after my dog Alby twice now and both times have been absolutely brilliant. From the moment I left him with her, it was clear she genuinely cares — she was super attentive, proactive with updates, and made sure Alby felt completely at home. He came back happy, relaxed and tail-wagging, which says it all really! It's such a relief to find someone you can truly trust with your fur baby. Roxanne is an absolute gem and we will 100% be booking her again. Thank you so much ❤️❤️”

“Amelia was fantastic with our 6-month-old pup! She took great care of him, including a nice walk, and kept us updated throughout. Super responsive and friendly—would definitely recommend and book again!”

Kadri has visited my home on several occasions and has always interacted wonderfully with my dog. She has a warm, calm, and caring approach, and I have found her to be responsible, reliable, and dependable. I would not hesitate to recommend her as a dog sitter. She does a fantastic job and is someone I trust completely with my pet.

Cheryl is a loving sitter. My dog got the best life while we were away. With daily updates and exceptional communication throughout my whole holiday. I had peace of mind, my dog looked content and happy. She took exceptional care of my fur baby. If could ever recommend a sitter it would be Cheryl. We have decided that when ever we go away again we will definitely book Cheryl to look after Ava. Exceptional care and love ❤️ Dod mom Mel

Heather did a fantastic job looking after both my cat and my rabbit while I was abroad. The cat has specific medical requirements when it comes to the feeding and Heather made sure that everything was done correctly as my cat has stage one kidney disease and needs a little extra care. She is very sweet and communication also went very well as she kept me updated with both photos and videos. First time I had a catsitter look after the pets and I felt so lucky with Heather. Would highly recommend her to all of you!

Nazim made sure our American Akita King was well looked after, and kept him cool on a hot summer’s day. Nazim is friendly, professional and reached out with updates about King throughout the day which was much appreciated. Would warmly recommend, as well as book him again.

Pinar looked after my two cats and my house very well. When I got home everything was in perfect order. The house was clean and Sid and Nancy were calm and happy. I was entirely satisfied with the care they had received and am hoping she will be available again next time I need a house siter. Teresa Sladen
Ashleigh is fantastic! She took the time to understand exactly how to care for our dog Emi and was incredibly attentive to every detail. She kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which gave us real peace of mind. Our dog absolutely loves her! We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and highly recommend her.

Abigail is absolutely lovely - both as a person in general and with my very nervous dog Tarlli. Though my dog wasn't a complete angel Abigail was brilliant, keeping me updated and handling the situation. She's clearly an animal lover! Would definitely recommend to anyone considering booking her.

I would definitely recommend Diana, she was great at minding Bean. She provided updates every day and sent videos of him looking very happy/playing in the park. She was also very punctual and polite. She followed the instructions I sent her and was very respectful - the house was exactly as we'd left it. I would 100% book Diana again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Barnet walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Barnet choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
