About: Hi, I’m Kat! North London HR professional and dog lover who shares my home with Thoth, my 5-year-old Norwegian Forest cat. I have strong experience with senior dogs – particularly caring for an elderly Shih Tzu, managing his daily medication and special care needs. My experience includes: - Dogs from 6-month-old puppies to 14-year-olds - All breeds, all ages – I adapt to each dog's individual needs I work for a defence company (fully vetted) and offer some weekday/evening/weekend walks, drop-ins, house sitting, or overnight boarding (my place or yours). Medication management, gentle routines, personalised care – I treat every dog like my own! I work full-time in a hybrid role (3 days WFH), so I have flexible availability: - WFH days: Extra time for walks/drop-ins, or I can stay at your place (with WiFi access) - Weekdays: Available after 5pm + overnights when needed - Weekends: Free Fri–Sun, all day and night In my North London home: Thoth (my curious indoor Norwegian Forest cat) stays indoors but loves watching garden visitors from the window. The garden door stays closed, but we have a secure communal garden (fully fenced, no street access) if your dog needs space to play. No other pets nearby – neighbours don’t own pets, so it’s a calm environment. Parks nearby – just a quick 10–15 min walk away for exercise and fresh air. In your home (house sitting): I follow your routines exactly – feeding, medication, walks, playtime. Secure doors/windows always checked; I treat your home like my own. Happy to water plants, bring in post, or do light housework too.

Caroline spent a week housesitting whilst taking care of my Bulldog Mabel. She provided constant updates in video and photo form and I could see from these how happy and comfortable Mabel was in her presence. We came home to a super tidy house, fresh sheets and a well loved and cared for dog. Mabel can’t wait to see her again soon and I am so pleased to have someone I trust to leave my third child in the hands of ❤️

I cannot recommend Roxanne highly enough! She has looked after my dog Alby twice now and both times have been absolutely brilliant. From the moment I left him with her, it was clear she genuinely cares — she was super attentive, proactive with updates, and made sure Alby felt completely at home. He came back happy, relaxed and tail-wagging, which says it all really! It's such a relief to find someone you can truly trust with your fur baby. Roxanne is an absolute gem and we will 100% be booking her again. Thank you so much ❤️❤️

Emily’s communication was excellent and, as we have never used the App before, this was very reassuring. She was also flexible and understanding with timings. Cleo, our cockapoo, took to Emily immediately - even though like many cockapoos she can be a little anxious! Emily sent us an update while we were away and Cleo seemed very happy when we arrived back (although did attempt to leave with Emily - which can only be a good sign!)

About: Hi cat lovers, my name is Jade, I work remotely in communications which means I am very flexible with my time. I have two cats myself, Magic and Arty (Moriarty, he lives up to the name) and I have over 10 years of cat care experience. I am a huge pet lover overall, but cats really top the list. I just love their personalities and the fact they don’t really care what others think about them, they just do what they want! I read a quote somewhere once that said “If you ever think you have imposter syndrome, just look at cats. No cats have imposter syndrome, they all believe they are the best cat that ever did live!” I can happily do medications, I had a cat called Puff who sadly passed away last year. He had daily heart medications for years, so I am very experienced with doing that. I’ve also looked after a couple of local kitties in the area for neighbours, including another cat recovering from a leg operation (requiring a crate) and needing pain meds twice a day.

About: I had pets almost all my life and the period I didn’t, I looked after friends dogs and cats whenever they went on holidays. I have a cockapoo, Lola, she’s the most beautiful girl in the world, but aren’t they all in our eyes? I also have two guinea pigs, Sadie and Oli, they are our actual ones, but they were many more before them. Sometimes my friend Kate, brings Pepsi, her moggie and she also stay with us. Other times is Carolyn who just got herself Monty a cross cockapoo/ jack Russell. Carolyn works at the local hospice and her schedule makes her work double shifts sometimes, so I look after Monty as well. Our place is so full of love, because they are in it. All pet owners will understand.

We felt continually reassured that B was in good hands. Definitely hope to see Amelia again soon.

Izzy came to meet Simba beforehand and it was clear she had lots of experience with cats and Simba immediately warmed to her. There was plenty of updates and contact, and then I came home to a very happy well looked after cat, and a well looked after home, so Izzy really was the perfect cat sitter for us and we will definitely be booking with her again. Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Barnet on Rover is £44.85 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 16,082 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Barnet. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Barnet walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Barnet choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
