About: With nearly 50 years of life experience and a lifelong devotion to dogs, I offer a level of mature, reliable, and deeply intuitive care that only comes with time. My journey as a dedicated pet parent began 37 years ago when I welcomed into my life my American Cocker Spaniel, named Joy, caring for him deeply throughout his beautiful 16-year life. That cherished bond taught me everything about canine companionship, from the playful energy of youth to the gentle, patient care needed in a dog's golden years.Since then, I have been the trusted, go-to caregiver and dog walker for family, friends, and neighbours, looking after dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. I understand that your dog is a treasured family member, and I treat them with the exact same love, vigilance, and respect that I gave my own. When your dog is with me, you get total peace of mind knowing they are in safe, highly experienced hands, enjoying walks filled with genuine affection, tailored pacing, and heartfelt companionship. **My Services** - Tailored Solo Walks: One-on-one attention, perfect for anxious, senior, or reactive dogs who prefer their own space. - Fun Group Treks: Carefully selected small groups for social pups who love to play and burn off energy together. - Post-Walk Care: Thorough paw-wiping on rainy English days, fresh water top-ups, and a text update with photos sent straight to you. As a full-time teacher, my routine is highly structured, allowing me to offer rock-solid reliability during my free hours. On weekdays, my school day finishes in the mid-afternoon, making me perfectly available for lovely late afternoon and evening walks to break up your dog's day or give you a relaxing evening. My weekends are completely wide open from morning until night, which is when I love taking pups on longer, more adventurous treks. Best of all, during school holidays (half-terms, Easter, Christmas, and the long summer break), my schedule opens up completely, allowing me to offer flexible, full-time daytime care and extra walks exactly when you need them most. My Availability Checklist: - Monday – Friday: Late afternoons and evenings - Saturdays & Sundays: Fully available (mornings, afternoons, and evenings) - School Holidays: Full-time flexibility (Half-terms, Summer, Easter, & Christmas) - Bank Holidays: Fully available for flexible daytime bookings Security & Vetting - Fully Insured: I carry comprehensive public liability insurance specifically for dog walking, ensuring complete financial protection and peace of mind for your home and your pet during our time together. - DBS Certified (Update Service): I hold a fully current, official criminal record check registered on the GOV.UK DBS Update Service, allowing you to instantly verify my background at any time for total peace of mind. - Secure Entry: I handle your keys with absolute confidentiality and always double-check that your front door is securely locked and alarms are set both when I leave and when I return. - Gated Transitions: I ensure your dog is securely on their lead before opening your front door to prevent any sudden slips or bolting. Out on the Walk (The Environment) - Secure Equipment: I always use your preferred collar, harness, and lead, checking that all clips are locked and fit snugly before we set off. - Safe Routing: We stick to dog-friendly local parks, quiet pavements, and secure pathways, entirely avoiding busy main roads and unsafe areas. - Vigilant Socialising: I keep a close eye on the environment to anticipate and avoid reactive dogs, off-lead hazards, or traffic, ensuring your dog always feels safe and unstressed. - Weather Awareness: I constantly monitor the British weather, adjusting our walking pace, seeking shade on hot days, or using shorter routes with indoor mental stimulation if it is freezing or pouring rain. "As an educator, I am deeply inspired by the joy of helping others. Bringing my patience, energy, and care out of the classroom and onto the trails to support local families and their beloved dogs is the most rewarding way I can spend my free time." - Vesna
“Mary took good care of Rainha and Durham. The house was left clean and tidy and she sent photos during our holiday so we knew our pets were safe and happy. I would use Mary again.”

“Absolutely fantastic sitter. Emilie watched after our fur baby for a week at our home and has done such an amazing job taking care of her. My partner and I were worried about leaving our dog for a longer period for the first time but Emilie took away our worries instantly. She kept us constantly updated during the day with photos and made sure that we knew exactly how our pup was doing in good detail. We could tell immediately that she has plenty of experience with dogs. She was very accomodating to ours/Mooncake's needs but most importantly our dog seems to have had a lot of fun with her! Major bonus was she also treated our home with such respect. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter. If you are anxious about leaving your fur baby to someone new like I was, I would definitely recommend Emilie!”

“Daniela and Luca have been amazing with Rocky. We would have absolutely no hesitation to recommend Daniela for future boarding and sitting - Rocky was soooo happy with them and I really feel he was sad to come home with us. Daniela and Luca kept us up to date with posts and photos which bought peace of mind given this was our first experience with them.”

“Sammy is an amazing petsitter! She looked after our ancient cat and spritely dog for a long weekend and we are very happy we left them with her. Both received the care and cuddles they needed and she kept us up to date. Sammy also handled our dog’s pill regimen with ease. As an added bonus, the flat was immaculate when we returned. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sammy to others looking for a reliable petsitter.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs all my life so I have all the experience needed to look after your pets. I am most comfortable around dogs and cats. I recently lost my own dog of 10 years, so I am eager for some furry company 🐶🤍 My experience comes from my own pets, pets I've looked after in the UK and Australia. I have pet sat via sitter apps like TrustedHouseSitters, Rover, Pawshake and MadPaws. I have done pet sitting here and there in my spare time and whilst travelling last year. I live in a house with a secure front and back garden and with my mum and partner. When new pets enter my home, they are given the opportunity to roam around freely whilst I watch them, to see where they feel more secure and comfortable. I work 9-5 Monday-Friday but I have all major school holidays off to care for pets full time. When I am at work, dogs are able to use the dog flap that is available to go potty during the day when I am at work. Pets are kept an eye on via 2 pet cameras I have in the living room and the kitchen. If I am at work, dogs are left alone between 8am - 5pm maximum. I have a car for any emergencies where driving is needed. I offer pet boarding overnight or just during the day and also offer coming to your home. I offer walks when looking after dogs included in the price, as well as grooming for any pets. I have experience with shy and bubbly pets and know when to give them affection and when not to. I only look after 1 or 2 pets from the same family at any one time. I never mix pets with pets they don't know so they feel at ease. DOGS 🐶 I love all kinds of dogs, they bring a ray of sunshine to our lives! I have experience with a range of dog sizes. I am very affectionate with dogs and have a calm manner and a calm home, I also love to play with them and their toys. I have a nice medium sized secure garden for dogs to run around in as well. I do have a medium sized dog flap for easy garden access. I live in walking distance to a forest / field for lovely walks. ❤️ Walks will be anywhere between 30 mins - 1 hour. I normally do one in the morning, one in the evening. CATS 🐱 I have taken care of cats whilst in Australia and Tasmania. I am comfortable around cats and I also grew up with 3 when I was younger. I look after my partners cat from time to time so I will treat your cat like one of the family. I am very affectionate and calm when I am around pets and create a safe environment for cats and kittens. ❤️ I do work full time Mon - Fri 8-5 so dogs and cats that are okay to be left alone for a work day are best. I do have a secure garden and a medium sized dog flap for toilet needs. If house sitting, I also need dogs and cats that are okay to be left alone Mon - Fri 8-5. I have a fenced off garden, a medium sized dog flap and secure home in a quiet area opposite a quiet forest. My home is dog friendly.
“Joao and Lara looked after my dog for a week! He is quite nervous and takes a while to warm up to strangers, but he was clearly so well taken care of as he was very relaxed when we returned home. The house was also very taken care of as was spotless when we returned. Thank you very much”

“Jade took excellent care of Suki. She was easy to communicate with and gave us updates throughout the day. Suki clearly felt very comfortable around her and enjoyed her time with Jade! Thanks :)”

About: From a young age, I've always had a passion for animals, which led me to take care of pets in my own household as well as those belonging to family and friends. Growing up, I learned the importance of responsibility and compassion while caring for various pets, including dogs, cats, and smaller animals. This experience taught me how to meet their needs, whether it was through feeding, grooming, or providing companionship. Over the years, I’ve developed a keen understanding of different animal behaviors and how to handle them in various situations. Whether it was comforting a nervous pet or ensuring a playful one got enough exercise, I’ve enjoyed every moment spent with them. My journey in pet care has not only strengthened my bond with animals but has also instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility and love for all creatures. I’m currently not working as I’m taking care of my toddler and he loves animal, he has been around cat and doggies and I would love to cuddle and give them all our attention and I think will be good for him and them. Creating a calm, safe, and loving environment where your dog feels comfortable at home. I follow your routine, give updates, and treat every pet like family.
“Nicole is a fantastic sitter - she’s a great communicator and absolutely loves dogs. She took such great care of my dog, catered to his needs and also took great care of my house. I was fully able to relax and came back to a very relaxed dog. Highly recommend, thanks Nicole!”

About: Hello! We’re Danielle and Andrew, a fun, reliable couple with a huge love for animals of all shapes and sizes. We also have our own fur baby called Teddy who is a 7 month old French bulldog, so we fully understand the care, patience and attention dogs need: especially playful puppies with lots of personality. Between us, we have experience caring for dogs with different temperaments, energy and routines. We know how important it is to feel confident leaving your pet with someone you trust, so we always make sure every animal feels safe, loved and right at home with us. As a couple, there’s always one of us around for extra attention, supervision, cuddles and playtime. We’re happy to stick to your pets normal routine, whether that means long walks, sofa snuggles, feeding schedules. We will also provide you with updates and pictures throughout the day to give you a piece of mind that everything is okay. We’d love to welcome your furry family member into our home and can’t wait to meet you and your pets xx I (Danielle) am part time currently at the moment so I can fit things in around my shifts. Andrew is self employed and works when he can so it is easy to fit days in to look after your fur babies. We have a fenced off garden which is great for your pets to have a roam in when it’s a lovely day outside. We are also not too far from Fairlop waters and Hainault forest so can have lovely walks over there as well. If you have additional requirements for your fur babies. - 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
