About: Hi, I’m an Essex-based cat lover with a lifelong passion for furry friends! Cats have always held a special place in my heart—I love their unique personalities, playful nature, and the way they bring comfort and joy. I’ve also had many other pets throughout my life including hamsters, fish and bunny rabbits! I am currently in university doing my masters degree in Classical Acting. It is an amazing practical course but it is also very full-on, and finding a flexible part time job alongside this has been difficult for me. This is why I think working at Cat in a Flat is perfect for me. I am able to earn money doing what I love most in this world… caring for cats!

About: I have been looking after dogs since childhood, and I always had my dog by my side. They’re the best creatures on this planet! 🥰 I recently moved to Loughton from Crouch End and live a few mins away from Epping Forest, which is perfect for dog walks. I’m outdoors a lot anyway, so having a dog with me fits really naturally into my day. Your dog won’t just get a quick pavement stroll either, they’ll get proper walks, lots of fresh air and plenty of time to explore the forest. 🐶 I’ve loved dogs my whole life. I grew up with two German Shepherds and a Beagle (so I’m very used to big personalities and even bigger zoomies 😄). Dogs are very much part of the home here. They’re allowed on the sofa, can sleep with me if that’s what they’re used to, and get lots of cuddles and walks. I stick to their feeding routine as advised.

About: About Me Hi, I’m Hayley, the person behind Adventure Bound Pet Services. Animals have been a huge part of my working life. I have around 13 years’ experience in animal welfare, including working as an Animal Welfare Officer for the RSPCA, where my role involved animal welfare and behaviour, rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming, adoption, fostering support, home visits and working closely with owners to help animals with a wide range of individual needs. I spent 6 years just working with cats so I have a lot of knowledge around their welfare. I also went on to work as a police officer, an experience which strengthened the qualities I bring to my work today – reliability, responsibility, good judgement and being someone people can trust. Adventure Bound has grown from wanting to return to the work I genuinely love: caring for animals and supporting the people who love them. I’m particularly passionate about providing individual, one-to-one care. Not every dog is suited to a busy group walk, and not every pet has straightforward needs. Some are nervous, reactive, older, recovering, have behavioural needs or simply thrive with individual attention. I always adhere strictly to the owner's instructions regarding feeding, medication, and exercise routines, ensuring their pet's well-being is maintained without disruption. I also make sure to keep a clean and tidy environment, respecting the owner's space as if it were my own. For added peace of mind, I provide regular updates and photos, keeping owners fully informed and reassured while they're away.

“Shakira was exceptional. She was attentive, professional and tremendously caring with all 3 of our cats (our babies!). She is a natural, Mist & Toby and our older fur-boy Oscar was right at ease the moment they met her. Oscar is diabetic and requires insulin injections twice a day and Shakira was able to do this along with administering oral medication for him effectively during the house sitting. Shakira gave us the peace of mind we were seeking, by keeping us informed and sending cute pics of all 3. We knew our babies were in good hands and we remain deeply grateful for her kind care and professionalism. Shakira is a super-star and we will definitely be booking her again.
