This was the first time we'd left Mabel (other than a brief weekend in Edinburgh) for nearly two years and Sharon was absolutely amazing. To say there was a bit of separation anxiety (us, not Mabel!) would be an understatement but Sharon was so brilliant with Mabel that we could get on and enjoy our holiday knowing the pair of them were having a great time. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sharon and will definitely be planning our next overseas trip again soon!

All I can say is thank god I found Ellie. Getting our puppy wasn’t planned, and we already had a holiday booked. I was contemplating whether to go or cancel. Thought I’d give Rover a try and came across Ellie’s profile. She lives local to me, which was a huge bonus as it meant she knew the area well. I instantly just felt a positive vibe after having a little conversation and instantly knew Eira was going to be in safe hands, which made my anxiety go away. Ellie was so keen to know every detail about Eira, from her sleep, day to day routine, and general care. We came home to a super happy, comfortable, well looked after pup. I really can’t recommend Ellie enough. Thank you SO much for looking after our baby. Will definitely be in touch for any future plans, and Ellie is welcome round any time to come and see her new bestie! I’m sure Eira will miss you as much as you’ll miss her! 🫶🏼

About: I truly love bonding with other peoples pets, often being dubbed step-mum and aunty by the owners. Ever since I was young I’ve been helping to look after dogs, big and small, young and old, so I feel super comfortable with different pet personalities and needs. I’ve cared for dogs for up to two weeks, in both my home or theirs with other responsibilities. I’d love to become your favourite borrower! You scratch my back and well, I’ll scratch your dogs… Generally I’m pretty flexible and will always try to make time for furry friends… Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays I work from home, able to give your pet ample attention. If I get to know dogs well, I can also take them in to the office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Those days I’ll be home around 6:30pm. No real restrictions on the weekend! Although I’ve not had a pet of my own, my house has seen so many! Yours can join me for cuddles on the sofa (if allowed), roam free downstairs and run around the large fenced garden.

About: I I’ve got over 8 years of hands-on dog-sitting experience and have grown up around pets all my life. At home, I care for my two dogs, Cookie and Lola, and my two cats, Marvel and Zeus, so I’m very used to different personalities, routines, and little quirks. I also help out with my mum’s doggy day care, looking after a wide range of dogs, many of them are now long-term regulars who I’ve really grown attached to over time. It’s such a lovely feeling seeing familiar faces come back, and I’ve honestly fallen a bit in love with quite a few of them! This experience has helped me feel confident handling different temperaments and making sure each dog feels safe, settled, and genuinely cared for. I truly love what I do and always want every pet to feel like they’re in a calm, happy, and caring home. I work full time Monday to Friday, but I’m available in the evenings as well as full weekends and overnight care. I can offer a range of services including walks, feeding, playtime, sitting, and keeping your pet company. Due to living at home with other pets and family members, I currently offer pet care in the owner’s home. I’m always respectful of your space and will make sure to follow any house rules, routines, or specific instructions you have for your pet.

Izzy was amazing! I could see from the videos how happy Simba was while we were away which really put my mind at ease. Izzy came to meet Simba beforehand and it was clear she had lots of experience with cats and Simba immediately warmed to her. There was plenty of updates and contact, and then I came home to a very happy well looked after cat, and a well looked after home, so Izzy really was the perfect cat sitter for us and we will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you so much!

Beccy stepped in to help at the eleventh hour after I’d been let down by another sitter and my puppy instantly warmed to her! She’s super experienced and confident which put me at ease as I knew she’d take such good care of Stevie. I was sent photo and video updates through the day and she even driver her to new parks out of our area which was so nice for our puppy. We came home to a very relaxed and well looked after dog! Thanks Beccy! X

About: I love interacting or taking care of cats, dogs, fish or any other animal. Enjoy walking, nature and love exploring. Also love caring for friends dogs or cats. I work at a school so am available during holidays and weekends. I love going for park walks anyway and own a car so could even take a dog somewhere different. I am also very happy to take in a dog or cat as I have a park very nearby to my flat I do not own any pets myself but would love to care for them. It is just budgets that do not allow that. I know that pets need attention, care, love and activities along with great nourishment for their development. I do also believe that they are like your child. I have experience in childcare also so can bring some of that knowledge to my care

About: I love cats, I have a Bengal who is 3 years old and I adore him. I studied them and their behaviours and understand them a lot. I have looked after a Maine coon for the past 15 years (update: he recently passed away from old age :( ) of my life with my mothers job so I’m pretty used to doing the job itself. I also taught a few cats how to give paw so I’m pretty happy about that too !

About: Growing up, my family always had rescue dogs - each with their own unique story and challenges. Over the years, we fostered a wide variety of dogs, many of whom needed both physical rehabilitation and behavioural support. From tiny Chihuahuas to big-hearted Rottweilers, no breed or size ever put us off! I’ve spent my whole life caring for dogs — walking, minding, and supporting those with special physical or medical needs. Between December 2022 and December 2024, I worked as a staff member at Pups Yoga, where we cared for puppies aged 7–13 weeks during classes. During this time, I gained hands-on experience with early canine training and puppy first aid. My love for dogs has always been a big part of who I am. I have a natural way with them, and judging by their wagging tails and cuddles, the feeling is definitely mutual! ❤️ I’m also fully DBS checked and insured to look after your beloved fur babies. Most recently, I’ve adopted my own rescue dog, Muffin, from Cyprus — he’s been an amazing addition to my life and a daily reminder of why I love what I do. 🐶✨ I am currently on a career break, which allows me to provide full time, attentive care for your doggies in my home throughout the day. I live in a ground floor maisonette with a good sized, enclosed garden. I live with just my husband, my pet tortoise Clive (who is fenced off above doggy reach), and my recent addition, my pup Muffin. I live opposite a large field, and 5 min walk from a large dog park. I have my own insurance and am able to provide references from various dog owners!

About: My Dalmatian, Jack went to the Rainbow Bridge 14 days before Christmas 2024. It broke me completely. I have had to say goodbye to many over the years, but there was something about Jack that left me reeling for months. Caring for a pet is one of life’s most rewarding responsibilities, offering unconditional love, companionship, joy and laughter. Pets are not just something that we own, they are part of our family and deserve all the love, respect and as much attention as possible. I am called Nanny Biscuits because all the dogs in my family know that I am going to give them loads of cuddles and doggy biscuits if they are allowed. I am aware that not all dogs are allowed to have treats for various reasons and I am very comfortable with that. Your wishes for your pet have to be respected. I have found that if I look after a pet in my home, it is good to have a blanket or item of clothing from you that has the familiar smell of you and the home the pet lives in. Comfort items boost emotional safety and comfort which every pet needs if they are in unfamiliar surroundings. I work full time, Monday - Friday. I work from home on a Monday and a Friday. My job does not give me annual leave, but we get "vacation time". I have 3 weeks off over Christmas. Two weeks off at Easter and a week off for Whitsun. I am available throughout the summer from the last working day in July until the first working day in October. I do have "vacation duty" for two weeks this September from 14th September - 21st September. I am happy to care for your pet in my home or yours, or, wherever you pet feels safe and comfortable. Morning, afternoon and evening walks are always on the agenda, I enjoy dog walking, and I am also content with a dog that does not need as much exercise as others.

We are absolutely delighted with the care that Beccy offered to Nala. Her communication was brilliant, she made us feel relaxed from the very first message and gave us brilliant updates throughout the day. It’s obvious Beccy knows and understands animals very well, she recognised Nala’s personality immediately and offered her a calm and gentle greeting which meant it was easy for Nala to feel safe. We have a shy dog, but she warmed to Beccy in a matter of minutes. Which is a huge compliment. We really loved that Beccy was proactive in asking the questions she needed to help her look after all of Nalas needs. We felt more than comfortable having Beccy in our home, and she even made a fuss of our toddler which was lovely and so appreciated. I’m so glad we found you, we would love your help with Nala again in the future 🙌🏻

Caroline looked after our almost 13 year old golden retriever, we haven’t used a house sitter before but we had an opportunity for a short family holiday, so we decided to see if someone could take care of willow in our own home, as willow has arthritis and struggles to get to her feet without assistance sometimes, and these days just wants to sleep and relax in her own home on her bed. Caroline was not fazed by this and I could see there was already a bond. We had loads of of happy photos and videos of Willow and updates whilst away and we absolutely knew that Willow was being loved and cared for, and her medication routine was being followed which gave us peace of mind on our holiday. Caroline was able to get Willow in her car for walks to the local park by lifting her up, and using our hand-held hoist to lift her down from the car. Caroline even offered to stay a couple of extra hours as our flight home was an evening one. We are very grateful to have found her 😊🙏🏻 xx

Jinny was an amazing house and cat sitter over a weekend while I was away. She came by beforehand to meet Bonnie, pick up the keys, and make sure she had everything she needed, which was very thoughtful. I can’t recommend Ellie highly enough. Although I was initially drawn to sitters with more reviews, Ellie’s profile stood out straight away thanks to her excellent communication and genuine willingness to care for our anxious dog. She visited a couple of weeks before our trip, asked thoughtful questions, and immediately put me at ease that our dog would be in safe hands. On the day we left, she arrived promptly despite the very early start, which we really appreciated. Ellie is clearly a true animal lover. Even when our dog went on a hunger strike on the first day, she was incredibly patient and attentive, helping him feel comfortable again. It wasn’t long before he had settled and was back to eating normally. Throughout our trip, Ellie kept us updated, asked helpful questions, and took great care of both our dog and our home - leaving everything even tidier than we left it. When we returned, our dog was calm and content, which says everything. I honestly felt quite emotional knowing how well he had been looked after. We wouldn’t hesitate to ask Ellie again and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone. Thank you, Ellie, for making our first family holiday possible!

FAQs for House Sitting - Enfield

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Enfield on Rover is £51.75 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 15,726 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Enfield. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Enfield walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Enfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
