“Water was an absolute treasure! My dogs were so well cared for. Eszter sent us lots of updates and videos of my girls enjoying themselves and having fun. They were well fed and walked and the house was left tidy. I would recommend Eszter without hesitation 💝”

“Tia was wonderful with our cocker spaniels Alfie and Archie. She came to our house a couple of times before hand and we went on several walks together so she could get to know them both. Our eldest dog gets anxious with any change, but he was absolutely fine, both dogs loved Tia. We received fantastic photo's and updates on how things were going which was very reassuring as we had never left our dogs before. Tia is reliable and professional and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending her, a true animal lover. Will definitely be booking again.”

“Olivia was absolutely incredible as a dog sitter—we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing Tana was in such safe and caring hands. Olivia didn’t just look after our dog, she genuinely cared for her, making sure she was happy, comfortable, and sticking to her usual routine. She also treated our home with the utmost respect, leaving everything spotless and exactly as we left it. It’s rare to find someone who looks after both your pet and your home to such a high standard. What really stood out was how amazing Olivia was at keeping us updated. We received regular messages, photos, and little updates about how Tana was doing, which made such a difference while we were away. It was so reassuring to see how relaxed and happy Tana was. We honestly couldn’t recommend Olivia highly enough—she went above and beyond in every way. We’ll definitely be asking her again in the future!”

“Amy is absolutely amazing! This is the first time that we have had someone look after Rosie who isn’t family. We immediately felt relaxed and at ease with Amy and had no worries at all about Rosie the entire weekend that we were away. We came home to an immaculate house and a very happy pup! Thank you so much xx”

About: I have grown up with dogs around me, from Spaniels, Cockapoo's and Staffies and always love having a dog around for company. I have looked after many families and friends' dogs over the last few years, and would love to make it a more regular thing. You can trust that I will take the very best care of your dog day and night, and happy to share heaps of pictures and videos throughout the day, so you can relax knowing they are having a great time. I am a working professional currently working in the office maximum. 3 days per week, one of which is usually a Monday. I am also generally home on the weekends, so can be fully flexible to dog walk or sit. I live in a large two bedroom first floor apartment, in a gated complex with gardens and whilst I may not have private outdoor space, I am an active person with a goal to achieve 10,000 steps each day. Whether that is setting me up for the day with a coffee walk, a lunchtime walk to take a break from my desk or an evening walk to unwind... I like to get outdoors and in the fresh air as much as your dog does! Living in Sawbridgeworth, I am spoilt for choice with walks around Pishiobury Park, nearby fields or a stroll along the river, so your dog will not be far from a good run and play on the grass. I live in a secure apartment, with several of my neighbours having dogs so it is a dog friendly building. When I work from home your dog won't ever be left for an extended period and if I have plans, I will be sure to check in advance that you are comfortable for a couple of hours. I prefer to take only one dog at a time, unless they are from the same family, and happy for your dog to roam freely in the apartment so they feel comfortable.
“Arrived home to a happy dog, who has obvs been very well cared for. Georgia sent me photos and kept me up to date with how my boy was doing I would definitely ask Georgia to dogsit again and recommend her highly.”
“Jordan has looked after my 4 year old staffy on a number of occasions now and has developed a great bond with her. He always sends me updates throughout the day, and always leaves the house in a great state. I’d highly recommend Jordans services.”

“Fantastic second dog sit. Was anyway 12 hours and Biggie had never been looked after that ling alone. Amelia was great with him. Got him to eat and play football. Made sure he wasn’t anxious. Much much happier dog than before. Amelia is an absolute gem!!!!!!! 💎”

“Sophie was just great with my little Shelby! Shelby fell in love with her, getting loads of cuddles and lovely walks. Sophie sent me loads of photos, videos and updates to let me know how Shelby was doing. Would absolutely recommend Sophie and will definitely use her again!”

About: Hi! I’m Philly, a huge animal lover with experience caring for a wide variety of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters and other small animals. I currently care for 7 pets at home with my partner, so animals are a very big part of my everyday life! 🐾❤️ I have a qualification in dog walking and dog behaviour, as well as hands-on experience with animal rescue and rehabilitation. I rescued and rehabilitated 2 stray cats from Cyprus, who are now happy, settled members of my family alongside my other 4 cats. 🐱❤️ This experience taught me a lot about building trust with nervous animals, giving them the time and space they need, recognising their boundaries and helping them gradually feel safe and secure in a home environment. I also have extensive hands-on experience with dogs of different ages, personalities and needs. I have raised 3 puppies from around 8 weeks old, so I’m very familiar with the puppy stage and the patience and consistency it requires. I have experience with toilet training, establishing routines, basic commands, lead and walking practice, socialisation, play and all the usual puppy mischief! 🐶 Since I was 18, I have also cared for a very anxious dog at my family home who is both lead-reactive and dog-reactive. Because her reactivity stems from significant anxiety, I’ve gained a lot of practical experience understanding and safely managing reactive behaviour. I’m confident recognising potential triggers and early signs of stress, creating appropriate distance from other dogs, crossing roads or changing routes when necessary, using distraction and positive reinforcement, and remaining calm if a dog does react. I understand that reactive dogs aren’t “bad dogs” — they often need someone who understands their individual triggers, boundaries and what helps them feel safe. I’m therefore very happy to discuss walks and care for nervous, anxious or reactive dogs and follow the management techniques that work best for your individual dog. 🐕❤️ I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine and individual needs, and I’ll never assume that what works for one animal will work for another. I’m always happy to follow your usual routine and take the time to get to know your pet so they can feel as comfortable and settled with me as possible. I offer dog walking, pet sitting, home drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, companionship and general care for both dogs and cats, as well as other pets where suitable. Whether your dog needs an energetic walk, your cat needs some company while you’re away, or you simply need someone reliable to pop in for feeding, cuddles and attention, I’m happy to help. 🐾 I’m confident following individual feeding, walking and care routines and will always take the time to understand your pet’s behaviour, temperament and specific needs. I’m also happy to follow any particular instructions you have, whether that’s sticking to certain walking routes, avoiding particular triggers, feeding at specific times or adapting my approach for pets who are nervous or need a little extra patience and reassurance. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing will always be my priority. If I ever notice anything unusual or have any concerns while they’re in my care, I’ll contact you straight away, keep you fully informed and follow any instructions or emergency arrangements we’ve agreed beforehand. I know how important it is to feel reassured when somebody else is looking after your pet, so I always send photos and updates when I visit. 📸❤️ That way, you can see how they’re getting on and know they’re happy, safe and being well looked after. I have flexible availability across weekdays and weekends and can often accommodate different times and routines, subject to other bookings. Most importantly, I’ll always care for your pets with the same patience, kindness and attention I’d want for my own. 🐾❤️ I have very flexible availability throughout the week, including weekdays, weekends, mornings and evenings, subject to other bookings. 🐾 I’m happy to work around you and your pet’s usual routine as much as possible, whether you need regular weekly dog walks, occasional walks, drop-in visits, feeding visits, pet sitting or care while you’re away. I understand how important routine can be for animals, particularly puppies, older pets and those who are nervous or anxious, so I’ll always do my best to keep visits, walks and feeding times consistent with what your pet is used to. I’m also happy to discuss more specific or unusual requirements — just send me a message and I’ll always try my best to accommodate you and your pet. ❤️ Your pet’s safety, comfort and happiness will always be my priority. ❤️ I’m happy to care for dogs, cats and other pets in their own home, where they can stay in familiar surroundings and maintain their normal routine. I’ll follow your instructions as closely as possible, including feeding and fresh water, walks, toilet breaks, playtime, enrichment, companionship and any individual care requirements we’ve discussed. Before caring for your pet, I’ll take the time to understand their personality, routine, boundaries and any behaviours or triggers I need to be aware of. For nervous, anxious or reactive pets, I’ll never force interaction and will allow them to become comfortable with me at their own pace. 🐾 On dog walks, I’ll always prioritise safety and remain aware of our surroundings. I’ll follow any instructions regarding routes, other dogs, lead use and known triggers, and adapt the walk if necessary to keep your dog comfortable and safe. I’ll treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own, making sure doors, gates and other access points are secure when arriving and leaving. You’ll also receive photos and updates from me so you know your pet is safe, happy and being properly cared for while they’re with me. 📸❤️ If I ever notice anything unusual or have any concerns, I’ll contact you straight away.
“Molly was able to help us out last minute with our Jack Russel who has separation anxiety. He took to Molly straight away, Molly kept us updated and Wilbur seemed very happy and content when we got home. Would definitely book again. Thanks Molly”

About: I have had dogs in my family since the age of 13. We had a Briard, Teddy for many years who was an huge dog and was loved very much! My partner has also had dogs in his family since the age of 10 and his family currently have an adorable Shei Tzu called Cookie. We are both active people who go on a walk at least once a day so we would love to assist in taking pressure off of you to walk your dog. We also have already been helping to dog sit for our friends and family when they go on holiday. Your pet will be staying with myself and my boyfriend Charlie. We stay in most weekends (will just need notice). We both work from home in the week and one of us are always home every day of the week. As mentioned we are both active people and walk everyday so would fit in with our schedules. We have a fenced garden which can be used. We have lots of downstairs space with a living room, dining room and kitchen. We can use a crate if needed.

About: I have grown up with rescue cats all my life and love them more than life itself! I couldn’t imagine living without a fluffy companion by my side. My dad was allergic to dogs so despite years of begging, a dog wasn’t allowed, so instead I would go out and walk other people’s dogs around the neighbourhood just to spend some time with mans best friend. As an animal lover and a holiday lover I know how important it is to find someone you trust to look after your furry friends whilst you get some R&R. I am lucky to be able to work remote with my ‘9-5’ (flexible hours) so am able to meet most of your pets needs :) I am lucky enough to be able to work remote with my ‘9-5’ (flexible hours) so I am able to attend to most of your pets needs, whether that be long or multiple walks, toilet breaks, or special requests. I am able to drive (clean license) so can commute to wherever you live. I also live local to woods & fields so would love to take your curious pets to new locations. I am clean & well-mannered, and will always clean up after your pet whilst they are in my care.

“This was the first time we had left Teddy with a sitter, so we were only out for a few hours. However, at the meet and greet Abigail was very professional in reassuring us. She was punctual, and Teddy was very relaxed when we returned, so we are very pleased with the service she provided and would book her again. Thank you Abigail.”

“Our dogs were really happy staying with Dave. Dave kept us regularly updated with texts and photos. Really happy with the care they received. Will definitely book again in the future.”

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Harlow choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
