“Eszter was wonderful for our nervous boy, he clearly had the most amazing time and we came back to a very happy and relaxed dog. Koji has a lot of specific needs and Eszter went above and beyond to meet them, always checked in with us if she was unsure of anything and communicated so well throughout the course of her time with Koji. We highly recommend Eszter to look after your pet, she will do everything she can to make sure your pet and you are comfortable.”

“Tia took such great care of Chronos and Thea while I was away! She came by ahead of the visit to meet them and take Chronos for a walk to make sure they were comfy together. She sent so many amazing photos and kept me up to date on how things were going. I could tell everybody was comfortable together and having a great time. I would absolutely book pet care with Tia again, and recommend her to others looking for their pets and their space to be well cared for.”

“Jordan stayed overnight to look after our dogs whilst we were away, straight from the meet and greet the dogs took to him and we had no worries about him. He was really easy going and great to communicate with in the lead up to his stay. Sent us a lovely update during the evening, just to let us know how things were going. On our return the dogs seemed happy and relaxed in his company. I would highly recommend Jordan to anyone and would definitely look to him again if we need someone to look after our dogs. Thanks Jordan ?”

“Olivia was absolutely incredible as a dog sitter—we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing Tana was in such safe and caring hands. Olivia didn’t just look after our dog, she genuinely cared for her, making sure she was happy, comfortable, and sticking to her usual routine. She also treated our home with the utmost respect, leaving everything spotless and exactly as we left it. It’s rare to find someone who looks after both your pet and your home to such a high standard. What really stood out was how amazing Olivia was at keeping us updated. We received regular messages, photos, and little updates about how Tana was doing, which made such a difference while we were away. It was so reassuring to see how relaxed and happy Tana was. We honestly couldn’t recommend Olivia highly enough—she went above and beyond in every way. We’ll definitely be asking her again in the future!”

“Arrived home to a happy dog, who has obvs been very well cared for. Georgia sent me photos and kept me up to date with how my boy was doing I would definitely ask Georgia to dogsit again and recommend her highly.”
“Amy is absolutely amazing! This is the first time that we have had someone look after Rosie who isn’t family. We immediately felt relaxed and at ease with Amy and had no worries at all about Rosie the entire weekend that we were away. We came home to an immaculate house and a very happy pup! Thank you so much xx”

“Our dogs were really happy staying with Dave. Dave kept us regularly updated with texts and photos. Really happy with the care they received. Will definitely book again in the future.”

About: I have grown up with dogs around me, from Spaniels, Cockapoo's and Staffies and always love having a dog around for company. I have looked after many families and friends' dogs over the last few years, and would love to make it a more regular thing. You can trust that I will take the very best care of your dog day and night, and happy to share heaps of pictures and videos throughout the day, so you can relax knowing they are having a great time. I am a working professional currently working in the office maximum. 3 days per week, one of which is usually a Monday. I am also generally home on the weekends, so can be fully flexible to dog walk or sit. I live in a large two bedroom first floor apartment, in a gated complex with gardens and whilst I may not have private outdoor space, I am an active person with a goal to achieve 10,000 steps each day. Whether that is setting me up for the day with a coffee walk, a lunchtime walk to take a break from my desk or an evening walk to unwind... I like to get outdoors and in the fresh air as much as your dog does! Living in Sawbridgeworth, I am spoilt for choice with walks around Pishiobury Park, nearby fields or a stroll along the river, so your dog will not be far from a good run and play on the grass. I live in a secure apartment, with several of my neighbours having dogs so it is a dog friendly building. When I work from home your dog won't ever be left for an extended period and if I have plans, I will be sure to check in advance that you are comfortable for a couple of hours. I prefer to take only one dog at a time, unless they are from the same family, and happy for your dog to roam freely in the apartment so they feel comfortable.

About: I’ve spent many years caring for my grandparents’ dogs and have always enjoyed being around dogs of all sizes and personalities. Through regular walks, feeding, playtime and looking after them while family were away, I’ve learned how important it is to keep pets happy, comfortable and following their normal routine. I understand that every dog is different, so I’ll always take the time to get to know their personality, energy levels and any specific needs they have. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, plenty of play or simply relaxing with company, I’ll make sure they receive the care and attention they deserve. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your dog is safe, happy and well looked after. I offer flexible pet care around my work schedule and keep my availability on Rover fully up to date. I regularly provide dog walks and drop-in visits throughout the week, with occasional house sitting when my schedule allows. When I accept a booking, I’ll always ensure I have the time to give your pet the attention, exercise and companionship they deserve. I’ll also keep you updated with messages and photos so you know exactly how they’re getting on. Your pet’s safety, comfort and routine are my top priorities. During walks, I’ll always keep dogs on a lead unless you’ve specifically requested otherwise and it’s safe to do so. For drop-in visits and house sitting, I’ll carefully follow your feeding schedule, medication instructions, walking routine and any house rules you’ve provided. I understand that every pet is different, so I’ll take the time to get to know their personality and make sure they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I’ll treat both your home and your pet with the same care and respect that I would expect for my own.
About: I have had dogs in my family since the age of 13. We had a Briard, Teddy for many years who was an huge dog and was loved very much! My partner has also had dogs in his family since the age of 10 and his family currently have an adorable Shei Tzu called Cookie. We are both active people who go on a walk at least once a day so we would love to assist in taking pressure off of you to walk your dog. We also have already been helping to dog sit for our friends and family when they go on holiday. Your pet will be staying with myself and my boyfriend Charlie. We stay in most weekends (will just need notice). We both work from home in the week and one of us are always home every day of the week. As mentioned we are both active people and walk everyday so would fit in with our schedules. We have a fenced garden which can be used. We have lots of downstairs space with a living room, dining room and kitchen. We can use a crate if needed.

“Molly was able to help us out last minute with our Jack Russel who has separation anxiety. He took to Molly straight away, Molly kept us updated and Wilbur seemed very happy and content when we got home. Would definitely book again. Thanks Molly”

“This was the first time we had left Teddy with a sitter, so we were only out for a few hours. However, at the meet and greet Abigail was very professional in reassuring us. She was punctual, and Teddy was very relaxed when we returned, so we are very pleased with the service she provided and would book her again. Thank you Abigail.”

About: While I’ve spent a lot of time caring for cats, my love for dogs is just as strong—and I have hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments through sitting for friends, family, and neighbours over the years. From playful puppies to older dogs who need a slower pace, I’ve cared for them all. I understand how important consistency, calm energy, and clear communication are when it comes to looking after dogs—especially when they’re adjusting to someone new. Whether it’s sticking to a regular feeding routine, administering oral medication, or making sure they get enough exercise and attention, I’m dedicated to giving every dog the personalised care they deserve and acknowledging when your pet requires nurturing, affection and play time. I’m confident with walking, feeding, basic grooming (like brushing and wiping muddy paws!), and giving your dog the companionship they need while you’re away. I also make sure to learn each dog’s individual personality and preferences—some love long walks, others prefer cuddles and quiet time—and I adjust my care accordingly. Although I don’t currently have a dog of my own, it’s always been a dream of mine—so caring for yours is truly meaningful to me. I’ll treat them like part of the family, ensuring they’re safe, comfortable, and most importantly, happy! I currently have a commitment which durates to just 3 hours a day, Monday to Friday (3 PM – 6 PM), which leaves me with plenty of time and energy to care for your furry family members! 🐾 I’m available and flexible every day—including weekends and bank holidays—and I’m more than happy to work around your schedule. Whether you need early morning check-ins, midday walks, evening cuddles, full-day care or even overnight stays, I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs. Your pet’s comfort and routine come first, and I’m here to make things as smooth and stress-free as possible for both the family and your pet. At home, I have one very spoiled Ragdoll cat who even has his own house attached to ours! While he’s a house cat, we’ve created a safe, secure outdoor space so he can explore freely. He’s treated like royalty—endless cuddles, enrichment, and affection—and I bring that same level of care and compassion to every pet I look after. Although I don’t currently have a dog of my own, I’ve always dreamed of having one. So caring for your baby will genuinely fill a little hole in my heart 💛 Whether it’s long walks, playtime in the garden, or just a comfy cuddle session, I’m ready to give your pet the same love and care I give my own. Although I understand that every pet is different, I acknowledge their individual needs and always provide the best possible care for them. Whether your pet is shy, energetic, senior, or needs medication or special attention—I adapt to their personality and routine to ensure they feel completely safe, relaxed, and happy while you’re away.

About: With years of hands-on experience as a devoted dog owner, I bring a deep understanding of canine behavior, needs, and communication. What makes me unique is my intuitive approach to individual dog personalities. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care. Whether it’s building trust with a rescue, managing high-energy breeds, or creating routines that support both mental stimulation and calm, I tailor my approach to each dog’s temperament, age, and background. From daily walks and training reinforcement to grooming, nutrition, and health monitoring, I treat every dog as if they were my own. Over the years, I’ve cared for puppies, seniors dogs, gaining practical knowledge in everything from socialization to medication management. I’m not just experienced—I’m passionate. I love to play, cuddle, and simply be present with them, making sure they feel relaxed, happy, and loved at all times.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
