Olivia was absolutely incredible as a dog sitter—we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing Tana was in such safe and caring hands. Olivia didn’t just look after our dog, she genuinely cared for her, making sure she was happy, comfortable, and sticking to her usual routine. She also treated our home with the utmost respect, leaving everything spotless and exactly as we left it. It’s rare to find someone who looks after both your pet and your home to such a high standard. What really stood out was how amazing Olivia was at keeping us updated. We received regular messages, photos, and little updates about how Tana was doing, which made such a difference while we were away. It was so reassuring to see how relaxed and happy Tana was. We honestly couldn’t recommend Olivia highly enough—she went above and beyond in every way. We’ll definitely be asking her again in the future!

Eszter was wonderful for our nervous boy, he clearly had the most amazing time and we came back to a very happy and relaxed dog. Koji has a lot of specific needs and Eszter went above and beyond to meet them, always checked in with us if she was unsure of anything and communicated so well throughout the course of her time with Koji. We highly recommend Eszter to look after your pet, she will do everything she can to make sure your pet and you are comfortable.

About: I have a deep love for animals, especially dogs or cats. Coming with a background of having dogs and cats of my own since I was little I was always growing up around them either in my family or friends. I used to take care of my grandmas dogs through out my childhood by taking it for walks, vet, feeding, bathing & playing. Since last few years I have been around different types of dogs whilst living in Mauritius I was taking care of stray dogs by building trust and providing care, such as food, affection and in some cases even play time, as their wellbeing was important to me. Giving the love, care and affection to dogs/ cats brings me and the animal a lot of joy and I love taking care and having a good relationship with them. I can teach them tricks from young. I am also working part time and I am an artist. Enjoying being outdoors by going for a jog or a walk as well as staying indoors and being cosy whilst watching a movie or reading a book on a rainy day. • friendly • open to learning • responsible • fast learner Because I work early mornings, I have a lot of free time during the day and throughout the week to focus on caring for pets. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so pet care fits naturally into my routine and allows me to give them plenty of attention, care, and companionship. Every pet is different, with their own personality, habits, and comfort levels, so I always adjust my care to suit their individual needs. I follow the owner’s routine and expectations closely to help pets feel relaxed, safe, and comfortable in their own home. I genuinely enjoy building trust with animals and do my best to give them the same love, attention, and care they’re used to receiving from their owners.

About: I’ve owned and cared for dogs since age 13, with hands-on experience across labradors, collies, golden retrievers, labradoodles, Boston terriers, and mixed breeds. For the past three years, my wife, my son Tom, and I have cared for dogs locally through other sitting platforms, earning consistent five-star reviews. We offer a settled family home where dogs follow familiar routines. Feeding times stay consistent, walks match each dog’s energy and needs, and dogs receive daily attention and affection. I watch behaviour, comfort, and wellbeing closely, so owners feel confident their dog feels safe, relaxed, and cared for like one of our own. I work remotely, so dogs stay part of my daily routine rather than fitting around gaps. Walks happen regularly through the day, feeding times stay consistent, and dogs receive attention between work tasks. Care runs alongside looking after my son, so dogs stay included in a calm, structured family day rather than left alone. I care for dogs in a safe, calm home environment and follow each owner’s instructions closely. I focus on routines, supervision, and wellbeing rather than specialist grooming or pampering services. I am not professionally trained in grooming, but I ensure dogs stay clean, comfortable, secure, and well cared for at all times.

About: I have had dogs in my family since the age of 13. We had a Briard, Teddy for many years who was an huge dog and was loved very much! My partner has also had dogs in his family since the age of 10 and his family currently have an adorable Shei Tzu called Cookie. We are both active people who go on a walk at least once a day so we would love to assist in taking pressure off of you to walk your dog. We also have already been helping to dog sit for our friends and family when they go on holiday. Your pet will be staying with myself and my boyfriend Charlie. We stay in most weekends (will just need notice). We both work from home in the week and one of us are always home every day of the week. As mentioned we are both active people and walk everyday so would fit in with our schedules. We have a fenced garden which can be used. We have lots of downstairs space with a living room, dining room and kitchen. We can use a crate if needed.

She was punctual, and Teddy was very relaxed when we returned, so we are very pleased with the service she provided and would book her again. Thank you Abigail.

I frequently look after my Nana’s dog and I have my own (very needy!) Basset Hound. I work as a writer, so flexibility is my middle name! About: I have grown up with dogs around me, from Spaniels, Cockapoo's and Staffies and always love having a dog around for company. I have looked after many families and friends' dogs over the last few years, and would love to make it a more regular thing. You can trust that I will take the very best care of your dog day and night, and happy to share heaps of pictures and videos throughout the day, so you can relax knowing they are having a great time. I am a working professional currently working in the office maximum. 3 days per week, one of which is usually a Monday. I am also generally home on the weekends, so can be fully flexible to dog walk or sit. I live in a large two bedroom first floor apartment, in a gated complex with gardens and whilst I may not have private outdoor space, I am an active person with a goal to achieve 10,000 steps each day. Whether that is setting me up for the day with a coffee walk, a lunchtime walk to take a break from my desk or an evening walk to unwind... I like to get outdoors and in the fresh air as much as your dog does! Living in Sawbridgeworth, I am spoilt for choice with walks around Pishiobury Park, nearby fields or a stroll along the river, so your dog will not be far from a good run and play on the grass. I live in a secure apartment, with several of my neighbours having dogs so it is a dog friendly building. When I work from home your dog won't ever be left for an extended period and if I have plans, I will be sure to check in advance that you are comfortable for a couple of hours. I prefer to take only one dog at a time, unless they are from the same family, and happy for your dog to roam freely in the apartment so they feel comfortable.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Harlow on Rover is £40.06 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 14,984 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Harlow. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Harlow walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Harlow choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
