About: I’ve had personal experience of caring for my family pets, I got my first cat at the age of four years old and cared for her until old age. This includes administering medicine. Overall, I had 5 family cats and now I have one of my own who is currently 4 years old. My parents now have a one year old black Cockapoo who I regularly dog sit for including simple sit-ins to dog walks and overnight stays. Professional experience: I have completed work experience at a cattery. The duties included cleaning litter trays, feeding, administering medicine and general pet love. I currently work full-time from home with a flexible schedule. I am able to choose my work hours throughout the day to work around any pet sitting schedules. I am able to work from anywhere which is helpful for staying over. I am in my mid-twenties with a fiancée and one cat of my own, with no children it allows me to have full flexibility. Currently, my cat remains fully indoors as we live in a flat so I am aware how alert you must be for any exclusively indoor pets to ensure they do not get out and because of this I’m aware of how important it is for pets to have playtime and mental stimulation. My family cats were indoor and outdoor so I have experience of caring for cats that come and go as they please. My parents dog which I care for on a weekly basis has full access to a fenced in garden and I take her on walks both on and off the lead with good recall.
“Recommend Toby who has just looked after Freya for 5 days whilst I was on holiday. Toby is the ultimate professional and his love of dogs shines through. Freya was happy and enjoyed her walks. Would definitely book again to cover my holiday”

About: Hi! I’m 22 years old and have been around animals my entire life. I have looked after big breeds like bullmastiffs and cats regularly, so I’m very comfortable with both large dogs and the individual routines and loveable quirks of cats! In the past, I’ve also owned and cared for rabbits and bearded dragons which has given me experience with a wide range of temperaments and care needs. As a masters student, I attend university only twice a week, so aside from my lectures, I can dedicate all my time to caring for your pet. If your dog is sociable, I can arrange safe introductions with friendly pets of my neighbours or nearby family members. If your pet prefers a quieter environment, they’ll have my flat to themselves, ensuring they never feel overwhelmed. I’m available for boarding any day of the week and on Mondays and Wednesdays before 11am and after 4pm for drop ins or visits! Your dogs safety and comfort are my top priority. My flat has a secure balcony with high fencing, providing safe ventilation if your dog needs fresh air while I step out briefly. I have a crate suitable for all sizes, including large breeds like a bullmastiff, so your dog can rest securely when needed. For exercise and outdoor fun, I live next to a beautiful countryside field with a lake, perfect for safe, scenic walks. Every aspect of their environment is designed to keep them happy, secure and cared for.

We now have 6 dogs in the family, who I help to look after regularly and now wish to share my services to your lovely dogs. My house backs into fields and woodland so we can go on long walks if required and I am a keen runner so can take your dog for a run if it has extra energy to burn. I’m currently off for the summer holidays, being a primary school teacher so I have plenty of times for walk, play and cuddles. During term time, I work part time Wednesday-Friday. I have a safe, fenced garden and a good sized house with rooms to give your dog space or quiet if needed. I can provide a 1:1 service if required or multiple dogs from the same household.
“Jade was fantastic. Communicated before and during her stay, arrived punctually and was respectful throughout. She has a great knowledge of animals and our 13-week retriever took to her so well. We came back to a very happy little pup. Thanks so much Jade, we’ll definitely be using you again 😊”

“We were a little nervous about leaving our puppy for the first time but Jenny made us feel so so comfortable she came and met us asked all the relevant questions and just let us get to know her better before the booking which made me feel so much better. On the booking day she was on time left the house in perfect condition and kept us updated the whole time we were away with updates and pics and even answered a question I had once the booking was done. Honestly could not recommend her enough I felt totally at ease and I am so happy I have found someone I trust. Very reliable and always just so kind. Thank you so much Murphy can’t wait to see you again!”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Brentwood
Flora took care of our dog in our home. She came to visit us before our trip and Lottie seemed comfortable with her from the start. We hadn’t left Lottie with anyone before but Flora took great care of her. We really appreciated the updates and pictures while we were away. I would be happy to recommend Flora.

Rich and Jess did the best job of looking after our dog while we were away for two weeks. They followed his routine so he was comfortable without us here. I know he was treated as well (if not better!) than if we were with him! They even brought one of his outside beds to the pub so he was extra comfortable! Jess was extra helpful watering my veg garden and greenhouse for me. Came home to a tidy house and a very happy dog. They did a great job. Thanks Rich and Jess.

Lily is awesome! She came to meet us for a meet & greet and was really thorough in getting to know our dogs, which is great cause they have higher needs than your usual pups. She was happy to handle their anxieties and idiosyncrasies, and was okay dealing with their pills. More than all that, I came home to two very happy puppies, they clearly had a good day with Lily. Thank you, and we’ll definitely book again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Brentwood walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brentwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
