About: Having shared my life with pets since childhood, I bring a wealth of experience and genuine passion to pet care. Recently, caring for my French Bulldog, who faced a few health challenges, deepened my understanding and commitment. I approach every furry friend with the biggest heart, and my love for them continues to grow each day. Your beloved companion will receive not just care but heartfelt companionship. Balancing full-time 08:30-4:30 work schedule in this area that helps, I integrate pet care into my weekly routine by being as flexible as humanly possible. Before and after work, and during breaks, I prioritize your pet's well-being. Whether it's a morning stroll, a midday check-in, or an evening playtime, your furry companion receives dedicated care & attention. In my spacious two-bedroom flat with a gated communal garden and nearby woods, your pet's safety is paramount. I offer walks tailored to your comfort, be it in the garden, nearby woods, or along the street. Plus, your furry friend is guaranteed warm hugs for that extra touch of comfort and care.

Jess looked after Rex again and, as always, she was absolutely fantastic. She took such great care of him, especially considering he’s just recently been castrated. She was really mindful of his recovery, keeping his walks short and appropriate while still making sure he was happy and comfortable. We really appreciated the regular updates—it gave us total peace of mind knowing he was in such safe hands. Jess also left the house spotless, which is always a lovely touch to come home to. Rex clearly adores her, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with Jess again. Highly recommend!

I was new to Rover and obviously apprehensive about getting a house sitter for my dogs. After sifting through a list of people who offered the service, I came across Giorgina. Her rates were reasonable compared to others and when I met her during our introductory meet, my dogs took to her instantly. That’s when I knew she was the right person to look after my dogs. Upon returning from my vacation, my dogs were happy and well cared for and my house was as clean & tidy as I left it. All in all, very happy. Thank you Giorgina

About: I’ve had personal experience of caring for my family pets, I got my first cat at the age of four years old and cared for her until old age. This includes administering medicine. Overall, I had 5 family cats and now I have one of my own who is currently 4 years old. My parents now have a one year old black Cockapoo who I regularly dog sit for including simple sit-ins to dog walks and overnight stays. Professional experience: I have completed work experience at a cattery. The duties included cleaning litter trays, feeding, administering medicine and general pet love. I currently work full-time from home with a flexible schedule. I am able to choose my work hours throughout the day to work around any pet sitting schedules. I am able to work from anywhere which is helpful for staying over. I am in my mid-twenties with a fiancée and one cat of my own, with no children it allows me to have full flexibility. Currently, my cat remains fully indoors as we live in a flat so I am aware how alert you must be for any exclusively indoor pets to ensure they do not get out and because of this I’m aware of how important it is for pets to have playtime and mental stimulation. My family cats were indoor and outdoor so I have experience of caring for cats that come and go as they please. My parents dog which I care for on a weekly basis has full access to a fenced in garden and I take her on walks both on and off the lead with good recall.

About: I feel I understand dogs and their specific needs. I would care for your dog as an individual and make sure they were in the best environment possible. I have a lot of experience with dogs, having been a dog walker for over 5 years. I also have my dog first aid certificate. I love dogs and have always had rescue dogs. One from Texas and now a rescue from Romania. They bring their own challenges as they're nervous. So if you do have a nervous or reactive dog I do understand their needs. I have good availability and would be able to do most times. Morning afternoon and evenings are fine. So if you need someone to fill in last minute I'd be happy to as I know the stress myself of leaving my dog alone. I've recently looked after an elderly cat and 3 dogs whilst their owners were away on holiday. I really appreciate how they're a member of the family so provided constant updates and photos.

About: Hi! I’m 22 years old and have been around animals my entire life. I have looked after big breeds like bullmastiffs and cats regularly, so I’m very comfortable with both large dogs and the individual routines and loveable quirks of cats! In the past, I’ve also owned and cared for rabbits and bearded dragons which has given me experience with a wide range of temperaments and care needs. As a masters student, I attend university only twice a week, so aside from my lectures, I can dedicate all my time to caring for your pet. If your dog is sociable, I can arrange safe introductions with friendly pets of my neighbours or nearby family members. If your pet prefers a quieter environment, they’ll have my flat to themselves, ensuring they never feel overwhelmed. I’m available for boarding any day of the week and on Mondays and Wednesdays before 11am and after 4pm for drop ins or visits! Your dogs safety and comfort are my top priority. My flat has a secure balcony with high fencing, providing safe ventilation if your dog needs fresh air while I step out briefly. I have a crate suitable for all sizes, including large breeds like a bullmastiff, so your dog can rest securely when needed. For exercise and outdoor fun, I live next to a beautiful countryside field with a lake, perfect for safe, scenic walks. Every aspect of their environment is designed to keep them happy, secure and cared for.

Rich and Jess did the best job of looking after our dog while we were away for two weeks. They followed his routine so he was comfortable without us here. I know he was treated as well (if not better!) than if we were with him! They even brought one of his outside beds to the pub so he was extra comfortable! Jess was extra helpful watering my veg garden and greenhouse for me. Came home to a tidy house and a very happy dog. They did a great job. Thanks Rich and Jess.

Lily is awesome! She came to meet us for a meet & greet and was really thorough in getting to know our dogs, which is great cause they have higher needs than your usual pups. She was happy to handle their anxieties and idiosyncrasies, and was okay dealing with their pills. More than all that, I came home to two very happy puppies, they clearly had a good day with Lily. Thank you, and we’ll definitely book again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Brentwood

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Brentwood on Rover is £36.8 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 14,849 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brentwood. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Brentwood walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brentwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
