“Had such a lovely experience with giorgina, turned up exactly on time and provided an update during the day ☺️ very reliable and friendly and respected my home, will always be my first option when looking for a house sitter 🥰”

“Jess looked after Rex again and, as always, she was absolutely fantastic. She took such great care of him, especially considering he’s just recently been castrated. She was really mindful of his recovery, keeping his walks short and appropriate while still making sure he was happy and comfortable. We really appreciated the regular updates—it gave us total peace of mind knowing he was in such safe hands. Jess also left the house spotless, which is always a lovely touch to come home to. Rex clearly adores her, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with Jess again. Highly recommend!”

“First time having Yasmina over at our house to look after our 2 dachshunds and honestly she is the best we have ever used. Our dogs can be really nervous but they had the best day ever. Yasmina sent us loads of updates and photos throughout the day. I would recommend her over & over again. Thank you soooooo much!!! Xxxxx”

“We were a little nervous about leaving our puppy for the first time but Jenny made us feel so so comfortable she came and met us asked all the relevant questions and just let us get to know her better before the booking which made me feel so much better. On the booking day she was on time left the house in perfect condition and kept us updated the whole time we were away with updates and pics and even answered a question I had once the booking was done. Honestly could not recommend her enough I felt totally at ease and I am so happy I have found someone I trust. Very reliable and always just so kind. Thank you so much Murphy can’t wait to see you again!”

“Brilliant! House was spotless, animals were happy and healthy, regular updates and lovely person to deal with. Nothing phased Jade, our elderly, occasionally incontinent dog was seemingly no bother for her and both dog and cat were cared for like her own.”

“Cannot recommend Flora enough- she obviously loves dogs and takes the time to understand her charges needs.Freya enjoys her time with Flora and I am reassured that she is in safe hands. Would book every time as my first choice!”

“Sinead stepped in to look after my 3 dogs at quite short notice. I was worried about leaving my senior dog as he’s been a bit poorly recently and needs extra care getting in and out of the house. Sinead was great with him and really looked after him well. She sent me regular updates and pictures and it really put my mind at ease. I’d really recommend Sinead if you’re looking for someone to look after your pets. She was great with mine.”

“With such short notice Jessica provided an amazing service. She arrived on time and had no issues bonding with Koby and keeping him entertained while I was away, and even spending some training time with him. Definitely looking forward to booking again!”

About: I have had my own dogs ever since I was a child and just love looking after them. I think it is important that when you entrust your baby to someone, they have the same passion as you do for dogs. I am available at short notice as I am currently only working part time hours. I am happy to fit around your schedule as much as possible. I treat the dogs in my care as if they were my own. With care, love and attention to the needs and personality each dog.
About: I had my Jack Russell for 16 wonderful years and I want to give the same care to other pets, especially as we have just lost him through old age. I love walking but also chilling out if your pet isn't active. I've looked after different kinds dogs and cats for friends and family. I work Mon-Friday 9-5pm each week usually, however this is hybrid working so I am often at home, and I can usually fit my schedule around your pets care. Just enquire! I will take care of your pet like they are my own and make sure they are safe and happy. I will follow your requests and preferences.

About: I have experience caring for a wide variety of cats and dogs, including tabby cats, British Shorthairs, and Sphynx cats. I have also looked after many different dog breeds and have grown up around animals, having owned Rottweilers and a Poodle, and I currently care for my Shih Tzu and two tabby cats. I am very confident handling pets of different personalities and needs, including dogs with separation anxiety. I genuinely enjoy working with animals and take pride in making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. My aim is to give pet owners complete peace of mind, knowing their pets are in safe and loving hands at all times. I am a full-time SEN secondary teacher, however I spend my spare time (after 15:00) caring for cats and dogs, including my own pets. I have a strong passion for animals and really enjoy providing them with attentive, reliable care outside of my working hours. I am also available throughout all school term holidays, so if you are looking for a full-time pet sitter during these periods, please feel free to get in touch. In addition, I am open to last-minute weekend bookings where possible. With owner permission, I also love taking dogs out for enriching walks to places such as local parks or forests to ensure they are happy, stimulated, and enjoying their time while in my care. I have a fenced garden with plenty of space for pets to safely roam and enjoy themselves. I also have a female, friendly Shih Tzu named Paris, who is very sociable with other dogs and is also comfortable around cats, as she has lived alongside my two tabby cats. My cats are generally independent and often spend time outdoors in the neighbourhood or relaxing in their own space indoors, so visiting pets are able to have a calm and low-stress environment. I always ensure any pets in my care are introduced slowly and safely where needed, and I prioritise their comfort and wellbeing at all times.
“We cannot rate Katie highly enough, and feel so lucky that we found her on Rover. Katie spent 8 nights/days staying at our home to look after our dog, Belle. Katie is so kind and caring and just has a very special way with animals, (she also cared brilliantly for our axolotls, which can be tricky little things to look after). Belle instantly took to Katie, and from the photos, video clips and updates that Katie sent we could see that Belle had the best week! Katie gave her so much love and time, and took her on wonderful days out - we had absolute peace of mind at how well Belle was being cared for. We are already looking to rebook Katie for next years holiday. Thank you so much Katie! Also Katie looked after our home and everything was perfect on our return.”

About: I've always loved animals and being out in nature, so caring for dogs and going on walks is a perfect match for me. I've helped care for pets for friends and family, including my sister's French Bulldog, and I always make sure animals feel calm, comfortable, safe and well cared for. Going for a walk is already part of my daily routine, so pet care fits naturally into my day. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate time caring for pets. I follow the owner's instructions carefully to maintain the pet's usual routine. I make sure pets feel safe, comfy, and well cared for, giving them attention, walks and playtime while keeping the home clean and respectful.
About: I feel I understand dogs and their specific needs. I would care for your dog as an individual and make sure they were in the best environment possible. I have a lot of experience with dogs, having been a dog walker for over 5 years. I also have my dog first aid certificate. I love dogs and have always had rescue dogs. One from Texas and now a rescue from Romania. They bring their own challenges as they're nervous. So if you do have a nervous or reactive dog I do understand their needs. I have good availability and would be able to do most times. Morning afternoon and evenings are fine. So if you need someone to fill in last minute I'd be happy to as I know the stress myself of leaving my dog alone. I've recently looked after an elderly cat and 3 dogs whilst their owners were away on holiday. I really appreciate how they're a member of the family so provided constant updates and photos.
About: We are one year on in our Rover journey with many 5* reviews. We have met some lovely people with their lovely pooches, and now have many regulars coming to stay. We have both had our own dogs since we were children and currently have a very healthy, and happy 5yr old cockapoo, called Molly who loves the company of our guests. We walk the dogs daily when we are doing school runs, and we both work from home so also welcome a break from work to exercise and play with them in our lunch breaks. We live next to Lake meadows in Billericay so this is generally where we explore with the pooches but if they are with us over a weekend, or for a longer period of time we tend to go further afield. . Our children provide a real comfort and source of entertainment for our doggy guest with many of their owners bringing presents for giving them so much love and affection during their time away from home. We have a secure fenced garden and live in a quiet cul-de-sac with no busy roads and a robust system when answering the door to ensure no pooches escape! We have cameras and security in place for the odd occasion we are all out of the house. We have a dog friendly car with the expected safety belts should we take the dogs on outings, drop off and pick up, or vet appointments if ever needed. Your beloved pooch will always be returned clean, brushed and smelling sweet after their stay with us.

About: Hi! I’m 22 years old and have been around animals my entire life. I have looked after big breeds like bullmastiffs and cats regularly, so I’m very comfortable with both large dogs and the individual routines and loveable quirks of cats! In the past, I’ve also owned and cared for rabbits and bearded dragons which has given me experience with a wide range of temperaments and care needs. As a masters student, I attend university only twice a week, so aside from my lectures, I can dedicate all my time to caring for your pet. If your dog is sociable, I can arrange safe introductions with friendly pets of my neighbours or nearby family members. If your pet prefers a quieter environment, they’ll have my flat to themselves, ensuring they never feel overwhelmed. I’m available for boarding any day of the week and on Mondays and Wednesdays before 11am and after 4pm for drop ins or visits! Your dogs safety and comfort are my top priority. My flat has a secure balcony with high fencing, providing safe ventilation if your dog needs fresh air while I step out briefly. I have a crate suitable for all sizes, including large breeds like a bullmastiff, so your dog can rest securely when needed. For exercise and outdoor fun, I live next to a beautiful countryside field with a lake, perfect for safe, scenic walks. Every aspect of their environment is designed to keep them happy, secure and cared for.
About: I’m a genuine dog lover with experience looking after friends’ and family dogs. If your pup is very active, I’m a keen runner and happy to take them with me (with your okay and within their ability). My schedule is flexible. I work hybrid, so I can fit pet care around my home days and evenings when I’m in the office. I’m happy to offer walks, drop‑ins and overnight stays during the week or weekends, always following your dog’s routine I live in a flat with a green space right outside and easy access to local parks, so walks are varied and frequent. I always follow your instructions, whether that’s keeping your dog on a lead, avoiding certain dogs or areas, or sticking to specific routes. At home, I maintain a calm, tidy environment and keep to your dog’s usual routine for feeding, toilet breaks, and rest.
“We would definitely recommend Caitlin and book her again in the future. Her communication was excellent both before booking and throughout the time she was looking after our dogs. The dogs were well cared for and happy. Many thanks for everything Caitlin”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Brentwood
This was our first ever experience having a dog / house sitter as opposed to using kennels, and we couldn’t be happier with finding Katie! Katie came to meet us before accepting the booking, and we were immediately put at ease with her warmth and clear love and understanding of dogs. Katie took great care of Tony, met all his needs and showed him a fun time too. As well as looking after our home at the same time. Thank you very much Katie and we hope to welcome you back again some time! X

We were a little nervous about leaving our puppy for the first time but Jenny made us feel so so comfortable she came and met us asked all the relevant questions and just let us get to know her better before the booking which made me feel so much better. Thank you so much Murphy can’t wait to see you again!

Rich and Jess did the best job of looking after our dog while we were away for two weeks. They followed his routine so he was comfortable without us here. I know he was treated as well (if not better!) than if we were with him! They even brought one of his outside beds to the pub so he was extra comfortable! Jess was extra helpful watering my veg garden and greenhouse for me. Came home to a tidy house and a very happy dog. They did a great job. Thanks Rich and Jess.

Lily is awesome! She came to meet us for a meet & greet and was really thorough in getting to know our dogs, which is great cause they have higher needs than your usual pups. She was happy to handle their anxieties and idiosyncrasies, and was okay dealing with their pills. More than all that, I came home to two very happy puppies, they clearly had a good day with Lily. Thank you, and we’ll definitely book again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Brentwood walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brentwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
