“The minute Giorgina arrived to meet Bruce and myself on the meet and greet she made an excellent impression - Bruce was sooo pleased to meet her! As was I. Giorgina is so calm, friendly, thoughtful and confident. She kept me posted on how Bruce and her were getting on and kept a really cool head when he threw up. I highly recommend Giorgina and will be booking her again. Thank you so much again Giorgina!!”

“This was the 1st time we’ve used a sitting service when going away so we were slightly nervous, we had no need to be. Yas was great, she came & met Eddy a few times beforehand so we could see just how at ease they were with each other & we got daily updates and pictures of the walks & cuddles. It really put our minds at ease not only knowing our Ed was safe & being looked after but our home too was not left empty. We will definitely use Yas again & will recommend her and Rover to anyone…Thanks again Yasmina . Xx”

“We were a little nervous about leaving our puppy for the first time but Jenny made us feel so so comfortable she came and met us asked all the relevant questions and just let us get to know her better before the booking which made me feel so much better. On the booking day she was on time left the house in perfect condition and kept us updated the whole time we were away with updates and pics and even answered a question I had once the booking was done. Honestly could not recommend her enough I felt totally at ease and I am so happy I have found someone I trust. Very reliable and always just so kind. Thank you so much Murphy can’t wait to see you again!”

“Brilliant! House was spotless, animals were happy and healthy, regular updates and lovely person to deal with. Nothing phased Jade, our elderly, occasionally incontinent dog was seemingly no bother for her and both dog and cat were cared for like her own.”

“We had an amazing experience with Jessica! She took such wonderful care of our dogs while we were away. Communication was excellent – we received regular updates, photos, and videos, which gave us peace of mind. Our pups were happy, timely fed, and clearly loved the attention and affection they received. The house was left clean as it was. We highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. We’ll definitely be booking her again in the future! 🐾 our dogs are safe with her 😊 … Thank You Jessica”

“Flora completely took care of Freya whilst I was on holiday, providing regular updates including photos to keep me informed. As Freya is a recent rescue that reassurance was much appreciated. Flora can be trusted with your fur babies and home.Everything was perfectly handled in my absence. Cannot recommend enough!”

About: I have been around dogs my whole life, with my parents breeding various breeds. We now have 6 dogs in the family, who I help to look after regularly and now wish to share my services to your lovely dogs. I have plenty of space, a good sized garden and two sweet daughters who will fuss and give your dog lots of love if it requires. My house backs into fields and woodland so we can go on long walks if required and I am a keen runner so can take your dog for a run if it has extra energy to burn. I’m currently off for the summer holidays, being a primary school teacher so I have plenty of times for walk, play and cuddles. During term time, I work part time Wednesday-Friday. I have a safe, fenced garden and a good sized house with rooms to give your dog space or quiet if needed. I can provide a 1:1 service if required or multiple dogs from the same household.
“Leah looked after Wolf for the first time and we couldn’t be happier. She was caring, reliable, and instantly made us feel completely at ease. She kept me updated throughout via WhatsApp, sending pictures and regular messages, and was always very responsive. We’re truly grateful and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a loving and trustworthy dog sitter.”

About: I have grown up raising chickens, sheep, two King Charles Cavalier dogs and we also have had horses and guinea pigs in the family. I’m comfortable with all animals and enjoy spending time with them! Im working full time Monday- Friday as a HR Professional. I work a half day on a Friday and am available over the weekends too. I’m able to commit to walks/check ins any evening and am flexible during my days off. I’m comfortable looking after pets in your home if that’s the support you need. Given how many animals I have grown up with I’m happy to flex around what you need, with your pets welfare being the top priority.

About: Hi! I’m 22 years old and have been around animals my entire life. I have looked after big breeds like bullmastiffs and cats regularly, so I’m very comfortable with both large dogs and the individual routines and loveable quirks of cats! In the past, I’ve also owned and cared for rabbits and bearded dragons which has given me experience with a wide range of temperaments and care needs. As a masters student, I attend university only twice a week, so aside from my lectures, I can dedicate all my time to caring for your pet. If your dog is sociable, I can arrange safe introductions with friendly pets of my neighbours or nearby family members. If your pet prefers a quieter environment, they’ll have my flat to themselves, ensuring they never feel overwhelmed. I’m available for boarding any day of the week and on Mondays and Wednesdays before 11am and after 4pm for drop ins or visits! Your dogs safety and comfort are my top priority. My flat has a secure balcony with high fencing, providing safe ventilation if your dog needs fresh air while I step out briefly. I have a crate suitable for all sizes, including large breeds like a bullmastiff, so your dog can rest securely when needed. For exercise and outdoor fun, I live next to a beautiful countryside field with a lake, perfect for safe, scenic walks. Every aspect of their environment is designed to keep them happy, secure and cared for.
“Tobias did an excellent job of looking after Freya. She can be strong on the lead and gets enthusiastic in meeting other dogs, but Tobias took this all on his stride. Cannot recommend enough. Thanks for looking after my fur baby!”

Flora took care of our dog in our home. She came to visit us before our trip and Lottie seemed comfortable with her from the start. We hadn’t left Lottie with anyone before but Flora took great care of her. We really appreciated the updates and pictures while we were away. I would be happy to recommend Flora.

Rich and Jess did the best job of looking after our dog while we were away for two weeks. They followed his routine so he was comfortable without us here. I know he was treated as well (if not better!) than if we were with him! They even brought one of his outside beds to the pub so he was extra comfortable! Jess was extra helpful watering my veg garden and greenhouse for me. Came home to a tidy house and a very happy dog. They did a great job. Thanks Rich and Jess.

Lily is awesome! She came to meet us for a meet & greet and was really thorough in getting to know our dogs, which is great cause they have higher needs than your usual pups. She was happy to handle their anxieties and idiosyncrasies, and was okay dealing with their pills. More than all that, I came home to two very happy puppies, they clearly had a good day with Lily. Thank you, and we’ll definitely book again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Brentwood walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brentwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
