“Catriona was lovely, took the time to pop by and meet May before the booking . She was obviously a dog lover and May certainly took to her, in fact I’m sure she didn’t want her to leave. Lots of communication during her time with May so our minds were at ease. Certainly would want to see her here again”

“Yi was absolutely amazing. She sent us pictures throughout the day and gave us regular updates, and big bonus, she gave us some great advice regarding our pup’s allergies. She truly looked after Boris, we’re grateful we found her on Rover. We hope to see her again as we will definitely reach out next time we need someone to look after our pup”

“I would really recommend Eleanor. She's really, obliging, friendly and personable both with Benji and myself. She helped me out of a fix at short notice. Benji likes her, and I would definitely book her again”

About: I am and always have been a devoted dog lover; I have years of experience with different breeds of small dogs; we have always had dogs in the family. We have our own little Westie dog, Bobby, who has been neutered and enjoys the company of other dogs; he is very laid back and lovely. We are at home all the time so your dog will never be on their own as we work from home. We have beautiful fields just a walk around the corner - perfect for daily walks. We have a nice garden secluded and secure with no side access so very safe. We also have a small dog flap for dogs who are used to using them and a stair gate so they don't have to go up and down the stairs. We can give a lovely warm caring home for your dog or dogs for up to 2 weeks or just a weekend or a day; Or a daily walk if that is all you need; we will treat them like royalty like we do our own !! If you want to keep your pet at home we will quite gladly look after your pet and sit with them for as long as you would like take them for walks they will be treated like our own with love and care. I’m semi retired and work the odd day but from home - so I am always here and your dog or dogs will never be left on their own. I usually just look after your dog with no other dogs unlike others who have many dogs all at once - I like giving them a real home from home set up and I love all dogs as I do my own. Our garden is very secure as there is no side access and a high fence. I have a stair gate to stop the fur babies from running up and down stairs for safety. All the dogs I’ve looked after run in to our house when they visit as they have happy memories of staying here and I pride myself in this. We have a lovely field just around the corner we walk to every day so your dog will have a lovely stay and lovely walks. I can visit your home if you prefer your fur baby to stay at home but this will have to be within a 5 mile radius of our home so I can make regular visits easily.
“Having known Alison for years I knew she was very calm and of her love for animals. But we had lost touch and I was overjoyed to see her as available on here. I booked straight away no questions. The dogs loved her she has a great energy and really put me at ease leaving them. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Alison again and neither should anybody else, but don’t book her up so I can’t get my boys in again 😂. Thanks so much Alison.”

About: have over 12 years of experience caring for pets, having grown up with both dogs and cats. I have had my own dog for 9 years and understand the commitment, patience and care needed to keep pets happy, healthy and comfortable. Being a pet owner myself, I understand that every animal has their own personality, routine and needs. I’m confident with daily walks, feeding routines, playtime, companionship and providing a safe, loving environment. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pets, and I will always treat them with the same care and attention I give my own. I’ve recently returned from travelling and I’m now looking to build pet care into my daily routine as a full-time job and business. I love being active, spending time outdoors and caring for animals, so this feels like the perfect fit for me. Having owned a dog for 9 years and a cat for 12 years, I understand the importance of keeping pets happy, comfortable and following their normal routine. I’m excited to provide reliable, loving care for pets and build great relationships with both animals and their owners. I have my own dog, so my home is already set up around pet care and creating a safe, comfortable environment for animals. I have a garden where pets can enjoy some outdoor time, as well as space to relax and feel at home. I understand the importance of keeping pets to their normal routines, including regular walks, feeding times, play, attention and plenty of rest. I would make sure any pet staying with me feels welcome and cared for, while taking the time to understand their personality, habits and individual needs. Having owned a dog for 9 years, I know how important it is for owners to feel confident that their pets are being looked after with the same love and care they receive at home.

“Alyce looked after our 3 month old cane corso puppy Ruby yesterday. It was our first time leaving her with anyone else and Alyce made us feel so comfortable and relaxed, knowing she was safely cared for. She sent us photos and kept us updated on Ruby's day and all the fun they were having together. Thank you Alyce, Ruby can't wait to see you again!”

“Megan looked after our greyhound for a few days when we were away. She stayed overnight to keep him company. Wouldn't hesitate to book her again. Friendly and capable. She's a star ✨”

About: We’re an Essex-based couple, huge animal lovers and proud owners of a 65kg Great Dane named Dobey, so big and boisterous dogs are nothing new to us! Most walks and drop-ins are done together, giving us two sets of eyes, especially with larger or reactive dogs. We have experience working with trainers and behaviourists and are happy to follow any routines or training you have in place. We also have two cats and experience caring for senior cats and dogs, including medication needs. We always arrange a meet and greet first so we can get to know you and your pet properly 🐾 We have a really flexible schedule, and there’s almost always someone at home. This means we’re very flexible with drop-ins and walks and can easily work around your pet’s usual routine. We always make sure pets feel safe and comfortable in their own home and stick closely to their usual routine. We also have lots of experience with reactive dogs and have worked closely with behaviourists and trainers, so we’re confident following any routines or training you already have in place. We’re also happy to offer suggestions where helpful, while always following what works best for you and your dog.
About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a child: my own, as well as those belonging to friends and family. I have also done volunteer work at a kennel. I understand dogs have individual needs, and I am careful in following any notes from owners on how to best care for their specific dog. Although I'll look after multiple dogs when they come from the same home, I only take one job at a time because it's much better for your dog's safety. But this means that I turn down offers from other people so I can keep your dates clear. Please keep this in mind if you schedule a meet and greet with me, as I've had a few people who just don't turn up. I work from home as a proofreader, which is all done from my laptop. This means I will always be with your dog during their time with me, and I can attend to anything they need straight away. I carefully follow any instructions from an owner on how to best care for their dogs (diet, medication, etc.). I give them lots of attention and exercise. When working in someone's residence, I have the utmost respect for their home.

About: I’ve been dog sitting for years, looking after dogs both in their own homes and my own. I’ve cared for dogs with lots of different personalities, and have loved getting to know each one. My career is in zoo keeping, so caring for animals is what I spend most of my time doing. My work has helped me to be patient, observant and attentive to changes in behaviour and wellbeing. I’ve also worked at Pets Corner and ran their puppy socialisation hour, which I loved so much, whilst also gaining experience in nutrition and behaviour. My favourite part was owners bringing all their different pets and breeds into the shop, and that made me want to pet sit full time. I’m happy to follow each dog’s normal routine and adapt to what they are used to at home. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime and giving medication if needed, and I’m always happy to keep owners updated with photos and messages while they’re away. I know it can be difficult leaving your pet with someone else, so I want you both to feel comfortable and know they’re being well looked after. I’m able to plan my days around the pets I’m looking after, so I can give them the attention and care they need rather than rushing between commitments. I’m also flexible with different routines and schedules, depending on what each pet is used to. I’m happy to look after dogs in their own home, as I know many dogs are much more comfortable staying somewhere familiar. I’ll make sure they’re safe, settled and looked after in the same way they would be if their owner was there, while following any routines or instructions they have. I’m respectful of people’s homes and will always make sure everything is left clean and tidy. I’ll also keep owners updated while they’re away, including sending photos and letting them know how their dog is getting on. I can also look after dogs in my own home when needed. I’m happy to discuss what would work best for each dog and their owner.

Kittens and Puppies aren't just for Christmas they are for life. I work 3 days a week and have the rest to schedule in so please ask. Flexibility is key. As long as people are honest with me and give me enough time to schedule them in i can work out slots for eveyone. About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with dogs, cats and tortoises of my own, and I genuinely treat every animal like family. I have hands on experience caring for puppies, kittens, senior pets, and animals with different personalities and needs, so I understand that every pet deserves patient, personalised care. I’m comfortable with energetic young pets who need play, routine, and attention, as well as older pets who may need a calmer environment, extra patience, or gentle care. I love creating a cozy, safe space where pets feel comfortable, relaxed, and loved while you’re away. What sets me apart is the amount of genuine care and attention I give each pet, whether that’s cuddles on the sofa, keeping to their usual routine, regular updates for owners, or making sure they feel secure and happy when you are away. I currently work a flexible 9–5 schedule, which allows me to fit pet care comfortably into my daily routine with time for walks, feeding, playtime, check-ins, and lots of attention before and after work. My evenings and weekends are very open, so I’m able to give pets plenty of quality time, care, and companionship. Pet sitting is something I’m genuinely passionate about, and I’m working toward making it my full-time career. Because of that, I put a lot of care and dedication into every pet I look after and always aim to create a calm, cozy, and loving environment where they feel completely at home. I care for every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owner is away. I know being apart from their family can be stressful for some pets, so I do my best to keep their usual routine consistent, including feeding times, walks, playtime, cuddles, and any special care they’re used to. I pay close attention to their personality and needs, from energetic puppies and kittens who need stimulation and patience to senior pets who may need a gentler pace and extra comfort. I also believe communication is really important, so I’m always happy to send regular updates and photos to give owners peace of mind while they’re away.
About: I have owned dogs throughout my teenage and adult years. I am now too busy with work to be owning one but sorely miss the furry company. I am experienced with dogs of all ages having owned dogs from puppy stage till end of life. I understand the nuances needed in the handling and also have owned dogs that needed to stick to strict medication plans. I’m happy to discuss this further in person and am open minded to your dog’s individual needs. I am mobile and love taking dogs to the beach. Cat owners: Unfortunately I am unable to provide the same in-depth level of care for your furry friends as I have developed an allergy in my adult years. I am available for feedings and short time care only in emergencies. Please contact me only if this is the case. I work from home and that can also include your house if your furry friend needs my attention for multiple days on end. I schedule most of my day myself so am quite open to drop by your house to let your dog out, go for walks or for feeding times. I’m happy to discuss further. This depends on your individual needs. I can be available for walks, play dates or overnights. I prefer you to tell me what you are comfortable with. Do you like your dog on the lead only? Do you prefer to stick to certain walking routes or do you give me the freedom to build a foundation of trust with you and your dog to take him/her on adventures. Let’s discuss!

Freya looked after our dog Bella while we were away for our wedding, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for anyone better. From the moment we met Freya, it was clear how much she genuinely loves animals, and Bella took to her straight away. Knowing Bella was so well cared for meant we could completely relax and enjoy our special day without worrying. Freya kept us updated, gave Bella so much love and attention, and treated her as if she were her own. We came home to a very happy, settled dog, which says everything. Thank you so much, Freya, for taking such amazing care of Bella. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for a kind, trustworthy, and caring dog sitter. 🐾❤️

I cannot recommend Jessica more highly. She is superb. She had to look after a very elderly dog, who is basically anorexic, and has to be coaxed to eat. She cooked is special meals without complaint. and coped wonderfully, with this very challenging behaviour. Couple this kind and loving care she bestowed. Moreover, her care did not stop there as She also had to look after an 18th month old whippet who is as mad as a box of frogs. This care was for 4 days and its the first time I have ever left my elderly dog with anyone, as he is so difficult. She regularly sent videos and photos of the dogs and was professional and reliable throughout.
Justine accepted my very last minute booking. It was reassuring that she came to visit me and Benji first before we confirmed the booking. Justine was in regular contact and sent a few photos! I’m very greatful for her to help out at such short notice. Thank you

- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
