Very happy to recommend Kathryn. This is the second time she has looked after our cats and as before we had regular updates and photos. We could relax knowing that they were happy and well looked after at home. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again! Thanks Kathryn :)

Lili and Jack once again were amazing. They house sat for us when we had a work clash, looking after our red setter and cat. We returned to a very sleepy household and happy animals. I cannot recommend enough and they will continue to be our first choice as far as dog care goes.

About: I am a first year vet student with experience working with different animals, as well as having two cats my self. I love working with both cats and dogs and will happily take on either! as i am off from uni over the summer, i have free time most of the week to visit pets, take them on walks or maintain daily enrichment whilst you are away. As I am not currently at university i am fully flexible to any preferred times. I am used to nervous animals and work well with them having adopted two rescue kittens, so am happy to work with shy pets as well as confident ones.

About: A work from home companion for your dog. I have had dogs for over 10 years now, with experience of different sizes and breeds! Alongside this, I have experience admitting medication. I have 2 loveable fluff balls, Henry (Labradoodle) and Winnie (Golden retriever). They love adventures of all kinds, whether this be exploring in the woods just over the road from the house, swimming in the sea or a charge about in a private field. Alongside the beautiful doggy’s I live with my partner Ant (who works in London) and young daughter. Ant occasionally joins us on walks but all dog care would be undertaken by myself. Your dog would be treated exactly the same, a home from home with cuddles on the sofa and a large garden for playtime. I work from home full time so your dog will have constant access to outdoor space. Weekends revolve around the dogs, trips to the park etc. The longest your dog would be left is 2 hours. Alternatively, if they are happy in places like town, we are also happy to take them with us when we go for coffee. I have a large fenced garden and 2 fur babies for your dog to play with. Alongside walks at the field, we regularly go to private fields for a run off leash. If you prefer your dog to be crated at night, also absolutely fine!

Very impressed by Harrison who has just completed a week in our home with our two dogs, Mac & Silver. He maintained good communication while we were away with regular updates, photos and videos giving us complete peace of mind. We've arrived home today to two very happy boys, who have clearly been well cared for and motivated by Harrison. His endless energy shines through his profile and this is what drew us to him on the first place. It's reassuring to know that our initial instincts following our meet and greet were not wrong. He is a very polite, respectful and diligent person, who we wouldn't hesitate to book again.

There aren't enough stars for Luke! He is truly the most phenomenally caring and trustworthy sitter we've ever had for Ziggy (our very bouncy, 2.5yr Golden Retriever). Luke took Ziggy under his wings for a week at his beautiful home which is clean, tidy & cosy; he went ABOVE & BEYOND to ensure our boy was safe, well stimulated, cleaned, loved & entertained with his own Golden Retriever, Cody. (who is SUCH a lovely natured & playful GR). My mother in law popped by to say hello mid week and she absolutely loved Luke & his GF too - they were so accommodating & clearly genuinely lovely, kind people. Daily photos & videos were in full swing which I found very reassuring that our GR was really happy & in such good hands - it's honestly a shame we had to bring him home as he was clearly having THE BEST time with Luke, his GF & Cody. I joked about our dog having a GR retreat for a week and he certainly did. He occupied him with snuffle mats, licky mats, plenty of playful & even bough him a very cute golden retriever teddy which melted our hearts when we saw our boy with it when he returned. Luke not only took him on what looked to be the most wonderful woodland walks but he also managed to get Ziggy in his bathtub - which we have never been able to achieve! Mega chuffed with that! He cleaned him everyday after the muddiest of walks and Ziggy looked so comfortable and happy in his care as I could see huge smiles on Ziggys face in every single photo. The photos he sent were also brilliant, Luke captured the most intimate & playful moments of our dogs together, I can imagine Luke raking in the cash as a candid dog photographer. He really did everything and more that I could have wished for to ensure Ziggy was happy & healthy and for that, I am so grateful. To commend Luke further - he gave us a digital and hard copy of an illustration of Ziggy which is flipping fantastic, another string to add to his bow. Really, if you're looking at booking, do it immediately because I don't think there is anyone better suited. We 100% trust Luke & his GF & will absolutely use them again in the future and know Ziggy will lose his mind when he sees them all again :D Thank you, from the bottom of my heart! XXX!

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 2,638 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Swale. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Swale walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Swale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 83% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
