About: Hi, I’m Michelle. I’m new to Rover, but not new to caring for animals. I’ve been looking after pets for around 15 years through private clients and recommendations, and I’m now looking to take on more pet-care clients and spend more of my time doing the work I really enjoy - being around animals. I live on my own, so when I’m caring for your pet or pets, they’ll have my full attention, with no other household members involved in their care. I originally got to know several of my pet-care clients through cleaning for them, and from there I also started looking after their pets, walking their dogs and house sitting while they were away. I’ve cared for both cats and dogs and understand how important it is to follow each animal’s individual routine. I’m dependable, caring and very attentive to instructions. I’m also very observant and naturally safety-conscious, particularly when walking dogs - I’m always aware of traffic, other dogs, what’s around us and anything on the ground they might try to eat or get into. I treat people’s homes and pets as if they were my own and always make sure their home is left clean, tidy and secure. I’m very security-conscious too - I’m the person who checks the door is locked and then checks it again just to make absolutely sure! I offer dog walking, puppy sitting, house sitting, cat sitting and drop-in visits for both cats and dogs, including feeding, toilet breaks, medication where required, playtime and plenty of fuss. I’m also happy to simply keep an animal company and give them the kind of attention they’re used to at home. I can also do home check-in visits if you’re away, even if your pets are with you, for things like checking everything is secure, picking up post, opening or closing curtains, turning lights on or off, or simply giving you peace of mind that someone has checked on the property. My availability can vary, so please feel free to message me with the dates and care you need, even if you’re not sure whether I’ll be available. I’m flexible and can often accommodate last-minute bookings. If you already have someone you normally use but they’re unavailable, I’m also very happy to provide occasional or last-minute cover. I don’t charge cancellation fees, even for last-minute changes. Plans change, and I’d rather make things as easy as possible for owners. I’m very flexible and can usually fit pet care around my day, including morning, daytime and evening visits. About: We’re an Essex-based couple, huge animal lovers and proud owners of a 65kg Great Dane named Dobey, so big and boisterous dogs are nothing new to us! Most walks and drop-ins are done together, giving us two sets of eyes, especially with larger or reactive dogs. We have experience working with trainers and behaviourists and are happy to follow any routines or training you have in place. We also have two cats and experience caring for senior cats and dogs, including medication needs. We always arrange a meet and greet first so we can get to know you and your pet properly 🐾 We have a really flexible schedule, and there’s almost always someone at home. This means we’re very flexible with drop-ins and walks and can easily work around your pet’s usual routine. We also have lots of experience with reactive dogs and have worked closely with behaviourists and trainers, so we’re confident following any routines or training you already have in place. I worked for more than 3 years at Dogs Trust caring for kennel dogs and supporting adoptions, followed by 3+ years at Guide Dogs in dog care and welfare. About: My partner, Bradley, and I have recently experienced walking dogs on ‘borrowmydog’, and I have 10+ years experience of looking after my cat - including solo overnight stays! I spent two weeks at a cattery for work experience in 2018 and am an avid animal lover. I’m looking to make more of a living from it to support my Master’s degree, and to have a furry friend to keep both my partner and I company on weekends! My partner (right picture) works full time so we treasure our weekends together, trying to enrich them with things that are important to us. I work part time alongside part time studying, so may be able to fit in dog walks in the weeks. During the weekend we like to go outside for the main hours of the day (we like to fit dog walking here across varied locations since we can both drive), but also love a cosy evening in snuggling on the sofa with a movie! In a pet owner’s home we would love to get as much information as possible as to where all relevant products are so we can be as prepared as possible for any scenario. We are very considerate guests, only using what we require and cleaning up exceptionally well after our stay. We are comfortable with dog walking on leads, unless the dog has excellent recall, since dog-on-dog interactions where the dog isn’t our own is harder to navigate if it turns too playful or even vicious.
