Jodie was fantastic! She kept us updated over the weekend with lovely photos and pupdates, asking questions if unsure. She totally put out minds at rest over the whole weekend and we would absolutely recommend her to anyone. I'm not sure our dog wanted us to come home to be honest, think he'd rather Jodie stayed :).

I didn’t know Alison before my trip away, but I had read all the reviews, which were excellent. I have a 17 year old Cavachon, who I rescued 4 and half years ago. I was worried about leaving her, but once I met Alison, I knew my girl was in very safe hands. Alison took exceptional care of my little dog and she kept me updated with how she was doing. When I got home my house was spotless. I would absolutely recommend Alison - she is a very kind person and my little dog loved her.

Ashley was fantastic; he looked after our dog Crumble for a week and sent updates and photos throughout. Crumble was very relaxed and played with him which was great to see. Ashley took amazing care of him, giving him his medication and taking out for walks as needed. As this was our first time with a dog sitter Ashley also met us ahead of the week to make sure Crumble wasn't reactive to him. This gave us reassurance that Crumble would be calm during the week and put our minds at ease for our holiday. Ashley also kept the house clean and had great communication throughout. Ashley was very reliable, trustworthy and an all round pleasure to meet; we were very happy to have found sound a brilliant dog sitter. Would not hesitate to book again; thank you so much!

Michelle was a great help for me recently. I’d booked a day for dog sitting in my home in advance, but also unexpectedly needed help the day before. Michelle managed to move some things around to assist, which was much appreciated. She sent regularly updates during the day & I could tell Mya was being well looked after & getting all the fuss & cuddles that she’s a big fan of. Thanks Michelle, will definitely book again!

I’m highly confident with medical care, administering medication, monitoring health, supporting anxious animals, and providing structured, loving routines. Your pet will always be treated as if they were my own — safe, loved, and genuinely cared for🤍🐾 Alongside this, I’ve grown up around animals my whole life, with dogs always in the family (Labrador’s mostly!). On walks, your dog will be safely on-lead. I’ll consider their confidence, energy levels & socialisation needs, offering low-stress environments for nervous dogs, solo walks or, even walks with my own friendly (neutered) dog if they enjoy company. About: Having had animals from a young age, I have always loved being around and caring for cats and dogs. I had a Sprocker spaniel growing up and enjoyed the energy and walks, and wanting to continue being around animals without my own at this time. I'm currently looking for a part time role and this fits perfectly around this, improving my physical health and my ambitions to make this full time! We would enjoy walks in the park with play time in the garden/ local areas. Within the next few months I will have a fenced garden close to fields, local parks and the sea within driving distance. Will be able to love for your furry as my own.

About: 7 years experience ✅️ Hi, my name is Victoria. I am a pet sitter in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, close to the beach and surrounded by lots of beautiful parks and woods. From a young age, I have always loved animals of all kinds (sometimes more than humans🤭!). Growing up, we had cats, rabbits and hamsters at home, so animals have always been a big part of my life they bring me so much peace and happiness. When I got married, my husband and I welcomed a Beagle cross into our family from a puppy. We sadly had to rehome him when he was seven years old, which was a very difficult and heart breaking decision for us. As a family, we have always loved animals, and my son was especially gentle and caring with our dog, knowing when to play with him and when to give him his own space. I love exploring different places on my walks, whether that's the woods, the beach or beautiful country parks, so having a furry friend to enjoy these adventures with would be wonderful company. I’m a caring, reliable and genuinely animal-loving person, and I will always treat your pets as if they were my own. I love to give them lots of fuss, cuddles and attention, while also respecting their individual personalities and giving them space when they need it. I can offer flexible and personalised pet-sitting services to suit you and your pets, and I’m also happy to help with things such as flea and worming treatments if needed. For your peace of mind i am DBS CHECKED/FULLY INSURED/CPR & FIRST AID TRAINED. If you're looking for a pet sitter who genuinely loves animals and will give your pets plenty of love, care and attention, then feel free to get in touch - I’d love to hear from you! — I’d be very happy to chat about your pets and how I can help! Thank you, Victoria 🐾 I’m currently a stay-at-home mum, so I have lots of time, love and attention to give to an animal who needs it. I also drive and have an estate car with a large boot, so there’s plenty of room for dogs to travel safely and comfortably. I’m also available for drop-in pet visits, whether your pet needs feeding, some playtime, company, cuddles or just a little bit of attention while you’re out. Since rehoming our dog, I’ve really missed having a furry friend to take on walks, discovering new places to explore together and giving them all the love, care and attention they deserve. When we had our dog, we would go out every day and find somewhere new to explore, whether that was the beach, woods or country parks. He absolutely loved going on adventures, meeting other dogs and having lots of exciting new smells to investigate! I would really love the opportunity to share those walks and adventures with another dog and give them the same love and happiness that I gave to our own. 🐾❤️ We live in a spacious two-bedroom flat with access to a communal garden area. Pets are welcome on the beds and sofas — our dog used to sleep in bed with us, so we’re more than happy for your dog to do the same if they’re comfortable. I’m happy to administer flea and worming treatments if needed. We don’t currently have a crate, as we got rid of ours because our dog found it distressing, but I’m more than happy to use your crate if your dog is happy and comfortable being crated. Our dog suffered from severe separation anxiety, so I completely understand how difficult and stressful this can be for both dogs and their owners. I was unable to leave him alone, and he came everywhere with us. If your dog experiences separation anxiety, please be assured that I will not leave them alone and will do everything I can to make them feel safe, settled and comfortable. I can also provide home visits, including check-ins, walks, playtime and feeding, if that’s what your pet needs. 🐾

Second time Ashley has sat for us and he did wonderfully. The two dogs were very well looked after and felt right at home with him. From the moment Lee came to our house Harvey our dog took to him straight away. You can tell Lee has an affinity for dogs. Halfway through the evening Lee sent us a photo of Harvey resting on him which is something our sometimes aloof dog will not do. So that was very nice to see. Would highly recommend Lee.

As of August 2026, there are 8,742 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rochford. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Rochford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rochford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 85% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
