“Elicia and Jack looked after our 2 nervous cats for 2 days. They followed all our instructions and sent feedback and some great photos. Whilst they were sensitive and thoughtful to their needs, they managed to begin winning them over and started bonding with them. I feel very reassured to have Elicia and Jack as our go to cat support!”

“First time we ever use services like this for our cat. Initially we were a bit nervous but then we went ahead and booked it. Ashley came and met with us ahead of time and we introduced him to our pet. He’s been looking after our cat while we were away and she loved it. Ashley is responsible and genuinely care about animals. He provided us with pictures and updates throughout the whole time. I would strongly recommend Ashley and we would definitely use his services again in the future.”

About: I have grown up around pets and animals. I have my own miniature dachshund who is a loving and needy character. I am the girl that will go up to dogs at a party and stay there. I live with just Luna at a house so would love to open my home to help look after others dogs! It sounds like a dream and I work from home so will be here at all times. I will give regular updates via pictures and messages if requested as wouldn’t want to hassle you unless you wanted to! I used to have a childhood dog which was a Shih Tzu called Stanley that I would look after at home. I look after my Nans dog which is a Yorkshire terror when she goes on holiday. All rounded take them for walks play with them clean them, etc… I currently have an office job where I work from home so will be home majority of the time to provide the care needed for a dog and give them the attention they need! My house is a safe home nothing is lying around and my dog is a loving character just barks at the door at new people haha she’s only small though and wouldn’t do anything shes so loving! Takes her a min to adjust to a new dog but she will play after they have bonded.
“Marisa was absolutely brilliant. First time we have used this service and very glad we asked Marisa. Regular updates and the cats seemed very happy and content when we returned. Would definitely recommend.”

“It's been a while since we needed Rebecca to help with visiting Mollie and it was a joy to see M so happy after her hour playing. Makes us feel so secure having someone so amazing as Rebacca to look after her x”

I take caring for pets very seriously and provide them with safety, care and affection while you're away. I am a uni student, so I have plenty of time to look after your pets outside of my studies. I am quite flexible. I am able to look after pets on some weekdays, evenings and weekends, and I am available full-time outside of term time. This also helps your pets feel more at ease as they remain in a familiar environment while you are away.
“We had only had our puppy for 2 days at 8 weeks old. We booked Alyss for drop in visits in the morning while we were at work so she wasn't on her own longer than 2 hours. Coco was as good as gold and absolutely loved Alyss who has helped our puppy immensely not to feel anxious about being alone for a couple of hours until we m home from work. Highly recommend thank you Alyss Coco sends her love xx”

“Alyce is so understanding and helped with a last minute booking, absolutely life saver!! Kept me feeling at ease knowing that Bronson was okay! She really understands Bronson and his way of showing love Thank you so much for everything :)”

About: Having had animals from a young age, I have always loved being around and caring for cats and dogs. I had a Sprocker spaniel growing up and enjoyed the energy and walks, and wanting to continue being around animals without my own at this time. I'm currently looking for a part time role and this fits perfectly around this, improving my physical health and my ambitions to make this full time! We would enjoy walks in the park with play time in the garden/ local areas. Within the next few months I will have a fenced garden close to fields, local parks and the sea within driving distance. Will be able to love for your furry as my own.

“I left wrong key of property and Jenny patiently helped me to sort out this problem by going somewhere else to collect a second key even though it passed our agreed 30 min booking. I’m very thankful for that! She kept me updated on every visit by photos and texts and was always on time.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 90% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
