“My dog Shane can be a little bit nervous with new people in the house, but Emily quickly calmed him down and he has really enjoyed his time with her. Emily is the first dogsitter I've booked through Rover and I've been really impressed. Emily is polite, professional and clearly has a real interest in making sure the dogs have a good time as well as putting the owners at ease while they are out.”
“Amazing service from Amy. My cat-Angel was very well looked after and was happy and calm when I got home. Communication was good and timely. Bonus points for cleaning up Angels’s hunting trophies. Overall, I recommend Amy and will use her again.”

“Gemma looked after Tara for four days, and I couldn’t be happier with the care she provided. She was always punctual and kept me in the loop with regular updates, which was really reassuring. She took the time to play with Tara and made sure every instruction was followed to the letter. Tara was so happy and clearly found a lively, caring friend while we were away. Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Basildon
Catherine did 4 drop-in visits for our two cats over a 3 day period. She was very kind, responsive and thorough, no issues at all. She made sure to feed them separately at first so the more shy cat could get more comfortable with her - we felt like our cats were in safe hands while we were away.

Fran took care of my 2 cats (Fidget and Patches) over Christmas and we have had such a positive experience. Fran made sure to ease any anxieties I had from the beginning as I was anxious about leaving them for the first time by arranging a quick call and drop in. She was kind and compassionate to me and my cats. She sent videos, pictures and updates every day which I was very grateful for. Both of my cats warmed up to her over the course of the week. She made sure the cats were eating, had clean litter, and given lots of fuss and attention. Fran was respectful and responsive with her communication and followed personalised instructions regarding the cats and their likes and dislikes. Fidget was a little shy and Fran was very respectful of Fidgets space. Me and my partner are very happy with her service and we would definitely recommend and request her again in the future. Thank you so much Fran for your service. All the best, Chloe, Damien, Fidgey and Patchey Bum. 🐾

I had the best holiday knowing that my two were in very safe and reliable hands. The communication was great, and they were very happy babies when I came back. House was cleaner than I left it, I’m sure! No hesitation to rebook when I’m lucky enough to get away again.

Linda is nothing short of amazing!!! I can't recommend her enough! Every day we had prompt updates with pictures of our cat and details of how he is, how much food he's had and how he was when she left. Nothing was too much trouble and Linda was even kind enough to pop our recycling out! And was even brave enough to get rid of a gigantic spider!! Which I am so greatful for! 😂 I would absolutely hire Linda again in a heartbeat. I truly felt that my cat and my home were in very safe hands. - thank you so much!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
