“Thanks so much for looking after Sonny! It was our first time leaving the dog with people other than our family and you took such good care of him. Having the meet and greet first really helped settle my own nerves so thank you for making the time ☺️”

About: I own two miniature dachshunds so I am aware of their personalities and their unique needs, as well as other small breeds. I am trustworthy and reliable with a secure garden setting. I typically work from home on any day we have a booking so your pet will never be left alone for longer than a 30 minute trip to local shops. I have a fenced garden, my own two dachshunds to keep your pet entertained and can accommodate a crate if required. My garden is flat secure and safe and your pet will have ready access to it.

About: We have been around dogs our whole lives and have been helping care for family, friends' and neighbours' pets. We understand the importance of keeping pets happy, safe and comfortable while their owners are away. Whether it's feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, or simply providing companionship, we treat every dog as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine. Elicia works from home during the day, while Jack works during the day and is home in the evenings, meaning there is usually someone available to provide care, attention and companionship. We already enjoy taking two walks each day, so regular exercise and outdoor time are part of our routine. Your dog would be treated as part of the family, with plenty of opportunities for walks, playtime, affection and relaxation throughout the day. We are committed to maintaining your pet's usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and settled while in our care. We provide a safe, caring and comfortable environment for every dog in our care. We live in a flat with access to a secure garden, giving dogs space to relax and enjoy outdoor time throughout the day. Dogs staying with us will receive at least two walks a day, alongside plenty of attention, playtime and companionship. We are happy to accommodate crate-trained dogs and will follow their normal routine to help them feel settled and secure. We will cater to your dog's feeding schedule and any specific care requirements, ensuring their needs are met while they are with us. Regular toilet breaks are provided throughout the day, and we ask that dogs are house-trained. We will send regular updates for what your doggy is up to!
“Catherine treated my Maggie like her own and was truly spoiled! I got photos of long walks, picnics and trips to cafes. Cat met with us twice before the boarding to ensure she learnt everything about my dog and Bernie got on with Maggie. Brilliant experience for me and my dog! If she could talk, I’m certain she’d ask to go back.”

“Stephanie and Louis are amazing pet carers, Anakin is happy when he see them, and returns home playful and with great spirit. Photos are frequent, they are genuinely interested in learning what is good for Anakin. I would 100% recommend Stephanie”

“We knew the boys were in good hands when at the meet and greet Mowgli found a box of new dog toys to play with. The boys have been so well looked after and enjoyed their chasing round the garden.”

“Five stars isn’t enough for Charlie and Gary! They looked after Lola, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the start, they were incredibly attentive, asked lots of questions at the meet and greet, and then followed Lola's care instructions. We were so grateful for the frequent photo updates, it really put our minds at ease seeing her so happy and settled while we were away. Lola had a blast on all her lovely walks, and the best part was seeing her bond with their dog, Jenny. By the time we picked her up, they were buddies! It’s such a relief to find sitters who truly treat your pup like family (and let's her snuggle on the sofa!) We would recommend Charlie and Gary in a heartbeat and will definitely be booking with them again in the future. Thanks again, guys!”

“Javier was excellent from first contact to picking our dog up. Great communication regarding the booking and ‘happy’ videos/snaps of our dog at play with him! Would have no hesitation in recommending his services.”

“Never again am I going to have to worry if I need a dog sitter! Photo updates every day, looked after Nyx as if she was part of the family to the point she didn't want to come home after. 10/10 will definitely book with Lucy again if I ever need to!”

“I couldn’t have wished for a nicer couple to care for our Princess. They were kind, considerate and most caring for our little girl. We felt as ease as we were sent beautiful pictures and messages regarding how Princess was doing. Thank you so much Ria and Greg as you helped us to enjoy our little break ?”

About: I’ve always had pets in my family home and we currently have 2 dogue de bordeaux’s! All of the dogs we have owned have lived with us until they passed, meaning I have experience with puppies through to seniors! As well as this, I have always had large dog breeds, the biggest being 2 Newfoundlands, so I am able to cope with many challenges our pets can throw our way. I’m a university student currently at home for the summer which makes me perfect for caring for your pets! I absolutely love getting out and about so I’d love to take your dog for a lovely new walk! I have a fenced in back garden and two loving female French Mastiffs, they’re giant teddy bears with no prior issues with other animals! If you would prefer for me to sit inside your home, I will be happy to leave my two at home as my partner will be there, do not feel like they are necessary as well! :)

My goldendoodle Kassie spent her first day with Tori and I amso happy. Kassie was a good girl for Tori. Tori sent photos throughout the day and Kassie looked so happy and having fun. Now we have found Tori we will not be going anywhere else. One very happy dig mum xx
Yvonne and her family are amazing! They took such a great care of my sausage dog Bruno! From all the photos and videos she was sending me, whilst he was with them, I can tell he was feeling safe and loved. Thank you, Yvonne! I’m sure Bruno and I will see you again! ❤️

She was absolutely amazing with my dog. Her communication was excellent. She always kept me updated with clear information and sent lovely photos where I could see just how happy and comfortable my dog was during the stay. It was obvious that she has great experience and truly cares about providing high-quality service. She was also incredibly flexible and helpful when arranging all the details. I feel so grateful to have found such a wonderful sitter. Highly recommended! 🐶✨

Cooper had a fantastic time and we felt happy whilst we were away knowing he was being well looked after. Nothing is too much trouble and Cooper had some fantastic walks and interactions with other dogs. We had regular updates and pictures as well. Cooper loves his times with Sydney, Cat and Bernie…

It's always a bit stressful when you leave your pets with someone you don't know very well and it was a long stay, but as soon as I met Shaki I was able to relax and felt confident Terrance would be fine and well looked after and he was. She kept me up to date throughout with photos and videos and kept up with his medications etc. Would happily book with her again. Thanks Shaki for looking after him so well.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
