“Hannah was fantastic with Noodle! I was sent updates and pictures throughout his stay and was greeted by a very happy boy when collecting him. 100% reccomend and I can tell Noodle would love to stay again!”

“Thank you so much Diana for having Reggie. He was so happy playing with the other animals. He had lots of cuddles and love and settled in with ease. We received lots of fun videos and I know he enjoyed his stay, will definitely be coming back 💕”

“Sarah and Joe were the most amazing pup sitters for our sweet Izzy. From the moment I met them I knew Izzy would be in brilliant hands - she was so comfortable in their home from the start. We had loads of updates and I knew that Izzy was feeling very at home. I would not hesitate to recommend Sarah and Joe to look after your precious pup. Thank you!”

“Hakan, Fulia, and their two children have been absolutely amazing in taking care of our beloved Rambo. Throughout our time away—over two weeks—they provided us with daily updates, sharing photos and videos without fail. This constant communication was a huge relief and truly reassured us that Rambo was in great hands. Hakan and Fulia also happily encouraged video calls, allowing us to see and interact with Rambo. It was heartwarming to witness his reactions every time we connected with him. Rambo was clearly very happy staying with their loving family, and now, they have become his godparents and a second joyful home for him. Thank you, Hakan, Fulia, and your wonderful family, for taking such great care of our little joy!”

“Aww that's amazing I'm sure he's enjoyed every bit of his stay the photos say it all 😊 Thank you for taking care of him. My husband and I are very happy with how you have taken care of him and the updates have been lovely. Will definitely book his long or short stays with you where possible. Thank you ☺️”

“Karen looked after our Staff overnight for a few days. Our dog got on really well with Karen’s own dogs and settled in well - he was clearly well looked after with lots of walks, love and attention. Would highly recommend Karen to anyone to look after their dogs as I would definitely be using Karen again in the future. Thanks again Karen”

“Hannah was brilliant. Would highly recommend and make Regina feel very comfortable. I was a little concerned as my dog is not great around other dogs but her dog was amazing and very well behaved. No issues what so ever. Will be back.”

About: I absolutely love dogs and was lucky enough to have one of my own for nearly 14 years. I have looked after many friends' dogs in my own home prior to having a dog and during. I've also worked in dog sanctuaries, looking after all different types of dogs from teeny to huge, with varying needs including challenging behaviours and medical requirements. As a previous dog owner, I know how tricky it is to get cover for your dogs when you need to be somewhere else or want to go away but feel as though you can't due to having dogs and I am here to help with that! Dogs are welcome all around my house (but I would be happy to follow whatever is your routine at home). I have a fenced off garden for them to play in and there are long and exciting nature walks starting just 1 minute's walk from my house. I am happy to follow any instructions you may have to ensure consistency for your pet and to make sure they feel as settled as possible. I work part time and can work remotely whenever is required. I am able to take your dog for as many walks as you like and ensure they are kept happy with play and attention. The day's structure will always depend on what works best for you and your dog's needs. I have a fenced garden and a safe home for your pet. I am happy to follow any instructions you may have to ensure I am providing consistency and help settle in your dog.

“Cider had a lovely time staying with Devianna. She is clearly and animal lover and gave him so much fuss and attention. He had long walks and I was able to completely relax knowing he was taken care of. Have already revoked and would 100% recommend.”

“Susan was absolutely fantastic to work with! She took incredible care of our precious baby, Nika, while we were away. The photos and updates Susan sent were wonderful, and Nika was thriving under her attention. We highly recommend Susan for any cat-sitting needs - she is trustworthy, reliable, and clearly very passionate about animals. Five stars isn't enough – I'd give Susan ten stars if I could!❤️👏🏻”

“Alice was amazing with Ziggy. Her little boy had bought him a ball to play with, and he had become so attached to a soft toy belonging to one of her boys that she gave it to him to take home. She immediately felt like a friend and that is really important, especially if you’re leaving your dog with someone you don’t know. Lovely atmosphere, lovely family, photos of Ziggy whilst I was away. If you need someone to look after your dog, you won’t do better than Alice and her family.”

About: I have experience caring for neighbours and family members dogs while they are away or at work, including feeding, walking, playtime, and companionship. I also own a playful 2.5 year old toy cockapoo, giving me daily hands on experience with caring for dogs, maintaining routines, and creating a safe, loving environment. I work from home Thursday to Friday from 9–5, which means dogs are rarely left alone and receive plenty of attention throughout the day. My routine includes a morning walk before work, a lunchtime walk, and another walk in the evening, along with playtime, companionship, and regular toilet breaks to ensure dogs stay happy, active, and comfortable. Over the weekend, it’s park fun, we go over to play fetch and have a long run around. I provide a safe, caring, and comfortable environment where dogs can feel relaxed and at home. I have both a small and large dog bed available to suit different breeds and sizes, along with plenty of toys for playtime and stimulation throughout the day. Dogs will receive regular walks, attention, affection, and supervision, and I always aim to follow their usual routine to help them feel settled, happy, and well cared for.

About: Hi there! We’re Leia and Dan, a young couple who loves animals. We’re currently in a flat, so we’re looking to share our space with your furry friends to get a flavour of what it’d be like for us in the future. We live in a comfortable space with a balcony for fresh air throughout the day. Both working hybrid work patterns so one of us will be at home throughout the day to have cuddles, belly rubs and walks. Having grown up with cats, and regularly looked after my parents cats, we know they have their boundaries, but love to have attention (on their terms) and have that perfect chin scratch. When boarding cats, we wouldn’t have the balcony open to ensure they are kept safe. We naturally love to be outside, whether that’s walking or camping. So, if you decide to board your pooch, trust they will be taken on many walks (it keeps us healthy!) to explore local routes. Whether it’s a walk, a day, a weekend, a week, or more, we’re happy to discuss looking after your pet. Both of us work hybrid work patterns so one of us will be at home throughout the day to have cuddles, belly rubs and walks throughout the week. Our weekends change depending on the weather and social plans. Sometimes we stay at home watching movies and playing board games, and other times we like to venture out and explore a new walking routes and stop mid way for a lunch break. So we can accommodate our schedule depending on your pet. We have a balcony for fresh air which we will keep open if we are looking after dogs (and a watchful eye at all times). For cats, we wouldn’t have these open but instead keep our windows ajar so the fresh air can still flow in but they are kept safe. If looking after pets in your home, we take security very seriously. Ensuring that any doors are locked and keys kept safe until you return.
About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and today I’m a proud dog mum to a friendly, social Maltipoo who absolutely loves making new friends. Because of that, I regularly spend time with other dogs and often look after my dog’s friends, giving me hands on experience caring for different personalities, energy levels, and routines. What sets me apart is that I genuinely love having dogs around. I work primarily from home, so dogs in my care receive plenty of attention, supervision, playtime, and companionship throughout the day rather than being left alone for long periods. My dog is incredibly friendly and enjoys playing with visiting pups, helping them feel welcome and comfortable in our home. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a member of your family, so I treat every dog as if they were my own. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, socialising, or simply curling up for cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you can enjoy complete peace of mind. I work primarily from home, which gives me the flexibility to provide plenty of attention, companionship, playtime, and walks throughout the day. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I currently have a friendly Maltipoo who absolutely loves making new friends. In fact, I often look after and spend time with his doggy friends, which is what inspired me to join Rover. I genuinely enjoy having dogs around and, if I’m honest, I’d happily have a second dog of my own! Since that’s not currently on the cards, I love welcoming other pups into our home and making them feel like part of the family. Whether your dog loves long walks, play sessions, cuddles on the sofa, or simply having company during the day, I’ll make sure they receive lots of love, attention, and care while you’re away. Your dog’s happiness, safety, and comfort will always be my top priorities. I live in a safe, dog-friendly apartment complex with a large communal green space directly outside, perfect for regular toilet breaks and play. We are also just moments away from Chelmsford Central Park, where dogs can enjoy lovely walks, new smells, and plenty of exercise. My own dog is friendly, well-socialised, and loves playing with other dogs, so visiting pups often settle in quickly and enjoy having a companion around. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, which is why I treat every dog as if they were my own. I will follow your dog’s routine, feeding schedule, and any special requirements, while keeping you updated with regular photos, videos, and messages so you can enjoy complete peace of mind. My goal is to provide a genuine home-from-home experience where your dog feels loved, secure, and excited to come back.
“What a great stay Phoebe had with Will! He was caring and welcoming, made all arrangements to suit Phoebes needs. They even played fetch, which Phoebe rarelly playes with strangers. Shows that Will has a friendly and calm energy, that helped Phoebe to adapt. Highly recommend!”

About: I've spent years caring for my own pets and currently share my home with three dogs and a cat (and I still want more). So I've had lots of hands-on experience with different ages, care needs, pooping abilities and personalities (and they certainly all have them). I'm comfortable with different feeding schedules, daily exercise needs, puppy training and creating a safe environment for pets whilst giving lots of attention and love - they deserve it so much. As a pet owner who has used sitters and boarding services myself, I understand how important trust, communication, and reliability are. I know what it's like to leave a beloved pet in someone else's care, so I make it a priority to provide regular updates, photos, and plenty of reassurance while you're away. The best part of pet care for me is the relationship you build with animals. There's something special about earning their trust and seeing them become comfortable around you. There really is no pay grade or profession that can beat that for me - just give me all the cuddles and wagging tails please. Pet care is already a central part of my daily routine. My days revolve around caring for my own three dogs and cat, including walks, feeding, playtime, training, and making sure they are happy and comfortable. Having stepped away from my career in accounting to pursue a more balanced and rewarding lifestyle focused on animals, I have the time and flexibility to provide attentive, consistent care throughout the day. This means pets in my care benefit from plenty of companionship, supervision, exercise, and affection, rather than being left alone for long periods. Whether it's sticking to established routines, providing regular walks, or simply offering extra cuddles and reassurance, I enjoy making pet care a natural and rewarding part of every day. I believe pets are happiest when they feel safe, comfortable, and can maintain as much of their normal routine as possible. Before any booking, I like to learn about each pet's personality, habits, preferences, and any special requirements so I can provide care tailored to their individual needs. In my home, pets are treated as part of the family and are supervised closely. I have experience managing a multi-pet household with my own three dogs and cat, and I always ensure introductions are handled carefully and at a pace that keeps everyone comfortable. Fresh water, regular exercise, playtime, rest, and plenty of affection are all part of the daily routine. If caring for pets in their owner's home, I respect their established routines and environment, following feeding schedules, walk requirements, and any instructions provided to help pets feel secure while their owners are away. Communication is very important to me, so I provide regular updates and photos throughout a stay, giving owners peace of mind that their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for.
About: I've had dogs of varying breeds my whole life, and so I'm comfortable looking after any dog. I regularly look after dogs for friends and family with the help of my friendly Cavapoo, Nellie. I treat all dogs like I would my own, with full access to the house and garden and a lot of love. I love walking and so am always keen to exercise dogs and give them a rewarding day. I work from home three days a week (Tues/Weds/Thurs) and so can be flexible throughout the week as well as on weekends. Dogs fit into our lives seemlessly and so we are always happy to have them in the house. I have a fenced garden and a friendly Cavapoo, Nellie who is always happy to share toys and keep dogs company whilst with us. I treat other's dogs as if they were my own; with a lot of love, attention and walks.

“Joe and Ellie were just wonderful with our two Labradors. It was only one night but the dogs would have happily stayed for longer - they were clearly very happy when I picked them up. Joe was very responsive, efficient, friendly and accommodating. He had an instant rapport with the dogs. The whole experience was very positive for me. Highly recommend them.”

Amazing!!! We cannot recommend Sarah enough. Was a real big ask for us to leave Woody with someone we didn’t know during our wedding day/night but Sarah and her partner were brilliant. Constant pictures whilst Woody was with them and a loving home that he thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you both!

Charlotte and her partner were super nice, they were very flexible with pick up/drop off times. They also agreed to look after Buster for a week without meeting first since we leave far from her which we thought was great of them. Buster seemed to have loved his time with them and Charlotte sent pictures every day!

We just wanted to say the most enormous thank you to you both for looking after Athena so wonderfully. It was so clear she was loved and cared for like one of your own, and your regular updates gave us such peace of mind. The paddling pool in the heat was such a thoughtful touch — you really went above and beyond. We couldn’t have asked for better, and we know she was in the happiest hands. Thank you from all three of us! 🐾

Our dog had a fantastic time with Karen, and we’ll definitely ask her to pup-sit again. We received a steady stream of lovely photos throughout the day, which was great to stay up to date. And Karen went above and beyond, engaging our dog in new games and play! Thank you

I can't express how great Tanya and Dan were at looking after Bob. Going to a new carer is always stressful, but from the meet and greet to the nights stay, the confidence they both showed and the updates that came through, filled us with the assurance that Bob was in the best hands. Thankyou to you both

Karen looked after our Staff overnight for a few days. Our dog got on really well with Karen’s own dogs and settled in well - he was clearly well looked after with lots of walks, love and attention. Would highly recommend Karen to anyone to look after their dogs as I would definitely be using Karen again in the future. Thanks again Karen

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
