“Honestly, I want to gatekeep Hannah but I know that isn't fair! I have two different cockapoos (one Velcro, one Independent) and both absolutely LOVED Hannah! It was my first time leaving the girls with someone outside of family and I'm so glad I chose Hannah. She had everything set up for them and was very good at giving me updates during their stay, even took them on a long walk! Both dogs loved her and they all enjoyed lots of snuggles, something my eldest dog doesn't do with strangers. There are absolutely no complaints and I'm sure Hannah will see both dogs again soon!”

“Such a good experience! Our dog, Margot, can be a little anxious at times but she knew she was in safe hands and settled really quickly :) Emine and her family are lovely, communication was great and Margot was very happy. Highly recommend!”

“Georgia and Joe were absolutely fantastic looking after my toy poodle, they helped at short notice and kept me regularly updated which was really reassuring. My boy had a brilliant time and I highly recommend Georgia and Joe who clearly love animals and are very caring. Thank you both!”

“Thank you Alys and Dan for looking after Poppy. They were able to accommodate at relatively short notice and kept me updated throughout the day with how Poppy was getting on.”

“Rizzle had a brilliant stay, before the stay Charlotte ensured she knew Rizzles routines and house rules, he settled so quickly and Charlotte provided regular updates, we have already booked again! Thank you!”

“Hannah was wonderful with our dog, Millie. Millie is normally very shy and wary of strangers, but she warmed to Hannah straight away, which says a lot. Hannah took great care to introduce Millie properly to her dog, Annie, who is a lovely and very friendly dog. Throughout the day Hannah kept us updated with photos, which really put our minds at ease. We felt confident that Millie was safe and well looked after. We would definitely book with Hannah again. 🐾”

About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life, and I genuinely love having them around. I’m a dog mum to a friendly, social Maltipoo, and I regularly look after other dogs with different personalities, ages and energy levels. I treat every dog as I would my own and adapt to what makes them happiest and most comfortable🥰 I work from home, so I’m around throughout the day for company, playtime, walks and regular toilet breaks. I’m also flexible with drop-off and collection times and will always try to work around your plans where I can. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone, so their safety and happiness are always my priority. I live in a dog-friendly apartment complex with a large communal green space directly outside, and Chelmsford Central Park is just moments away. My Maltipoo is very friendly and loves having other dogs around, so visiting pups are welcomed as part of our little family. I’ll also send regular photos, videos and updates so you know how they’re getting on.
“Karen was very accommodating with a last minute request to look after Ernie, and responded straight away to our request. Ernie had a great time and we wouldn’t hesitate to use Karen again.”

About: I had a westie throughout my childhood and early adulthood and since then I have look after lots of different breeds for friends and family. I’m currently available full time for any doggie needs. I can be very flexible with drop off/pick up times. I can walk dogs up to twice a day morning / evening, long or short walks whatever you prefer. We have a large fully fenced garden for your dogs to run around and play! The back doors are open all day for your dogs to go to the toilet when they like and walk/play around freely! This is a very loving and caring home and we will care for your pet like it’s our own .
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and currently have a friendly 6 year old Cockapoo who is a much loved member of our family. Growing up, I cared for my Irish Setter, Yorkshire Terrier, Dalmatian and German Shepherds, giving me experience with a range of breeds, sizes and personalities. I understand that every dog is different and I always take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable and loved. I offer a home for dogs who don’t like being left alone. My own Cockapoo has severe separation anxiety, so I completely understand how stressful it can be to find someone who truly understands their needs. Because of this, we made the decision years ago that he is never left alone. Not even for a quick trip to the shops or to pop out for a few minutes. Your dog will be treated like one of the family, with free access to our home, plenty of love and attention, and constant companionship. If your dog struggles with separation anxiety, you can relax knowing they will never be left on their own while in my care. I work full-time from home, so your dog will have company throughout the day and won’t be left alone. My flexible schedule allows plenty of time for toilet breaks, walks, playtime, enrichment and cuddles. Your dog will become part of our daily routine and receive lots of love and attention while you’re away. Your dog’s safety, comfort and happiness are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced, secure garden for safe outdoor time, and my home is a dog-friendly environment where pets are treated like family. I have a friendly 6 year old Cockapoo who enjoys the company of other dogs. Because he has separation anxiety, I understand how important routine, patience and reassurance are, so dogs in my care are never left alone. I’ll follow your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible and keep you updated with regular photos and messages for complete peace of mind.

About: I’ve bonded with dogs my entire life & have always looked after them for friends and family. Having owned a dog myself for the last 3 years, I’ve had a much more hands on experience with what it means to own and care for dog! I’m available for boarding 7 days a week with a flexible job which allows me to work my desired times and work from home on required days. I have a fenced garden with no pets and live very close to a large park, perfect for walks. I have flexible working hours so can meet all required schedules for your dogs!
“Ben & Gabriella are just the most wonderful sitters. They took the time to meet with us & Rolo before we booked. I left that meeting having absolutely no reservations that Rolo would be well cared for. He is an anxious boy at times so Rolo had a daycare today in preparation for his week stay coming up. He was very well looked after & settled quickly. Ben & Gabriella sent pictures & messages, their communication is great. I highly recommend Ben & Gabriella, they have a beautiful welcoming pet friendly home and will look after your pet as if it were their own. Rolo is looking forward to his overnight stay in a couple of weeks! 😁”

About: We (myself and my Wife) Maria have lived with dogs and been around dogs since we were children. We have taken care of dogs in both the UK and Spain (Currently reside in UK) I have had my own dogs in the past (spaniel and Dalmatian) The comfort and companionship that a furry friend brings is missing in my life right now. You will be able to relax knowing your friend is in safe experienced welcoming hands. Currently work part time, so I am available all days of the week to feed, walk and play with your lovely companion and give each pet as much attention as they require. Live in a flat on the first floor, there is no danger of any pet. Pets are allowed on the sofas and there is a open garden and plenty of nearby parks to play games and walks with them

“Hayley was amazing, very communicative and we felt completely comfortable with Moose being over her care for the day. She took him on over an hour walk as well as another hour play on the garden, sent lots of pictures throughout the day and made sure he had the best time! We would highly recommend Hayley”

“If you are nervous of leaving your fur babies with someone new, I can highly recommend Susan. She is calm, patient, loving and treats your pet in a home from home experience in a safe environment. My dog lucca has just had the best three days with Susan. Games, cuddles and walks, all in one day and regular photos and video’s sent to me throughout the day. Super service and such a lovely person, you will not be disappointed. I will be booking again.”

“Nicole was absolutely amazing with my Golden Retriever, Quaver. She sent lots of pictures and it was clear that he had an amazing day! He will definitely sleep well tonight. Thank you again & hopefully he can come and hang out with you again soon ❤️”

About: I'm an experienced dog owner and now really enjoy looking after dogs which I've been doing for friends and family for many years and now looking to do it more regularly. I work from home so dogs will rarely be left on their own for longer than an hour at a time. I work for myself at home so I can be very flexible to your dog's needs and will be happy to stick to your dog's routines. I have a large fenced garden laid mostly to lawn and access to lovely off road dog walks close by for as many walks as needed.

Milica was absolutely fantastic! She looked after our little lady this weekend and I’ve never felt so relaxed leaving her with someone. Milica is such a friendly and caring lady! I met her before we dropped her off, went for a little walk and met her friends too! I have been given so many lovely photos, videos and updates about what they have been up to, how she has been and all the fun she has had! Most definitely recommend Milica and will 100% be going back next time! Home away from home x

Suzzana took wonderful care of my dog, Dexter, during his daycare, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. She kept me updated throughout the day with photos and messages, which gave me real peace of mind. She took Dexter for walks, played with him, and gave him plenty of love and attention. It was clear that she genuinely cared for him and treated him as if he were her own. Dexter absolutely enjoyed every moment with her and was always happy and relaxed when I picked him up. I would highly recommend Suzzana to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and trustworthy dog sitter. Thank you so much for looking after Dexter so well!

Ben and Gabriella were absolutely amazing with my dads dog, Bonnie. They were calm, gentle and affectionate towards her which helped her settle very quickly. They provided regular updates and photos, took her for walks and genuinely enjoyed looking after her. Bonnie came back very happy and very well cared for. I have no hesitation in recommending them and will definitely be booking in again. Thank you!
Sarah and Joe were recommended to me by their lovely friends, Gina and Sam who used to look after my dog for day care and boarding over several years through Rover but gave up dog care at the end of 2025 due to other commitments. From the moment I met Sarah and Joe at their home during our initial meet and greet, it was clear they are a genuine, caring and thoughtful couple with a real passion for dogs so I had no hesitation in leaving Millie in their care. During her day care, I really appreciated the regular updates, photos and messages which showed just how much Millie was enjoying herself. She spent the day in a relaxed, stress-free environment receiving plenty of attention through walks, cuddles and games of fetch in the shaded part of their garden. When I arrived to pick her up, it was obvious she had had a wonderful day. Millie was treated as part of the family rather than simply being looked after. She came home totally chilled and relaxed and is already looking forward to her next stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sarah and Joe to anyone looking for a safe, loving home-from-home environment for their dog. Thank you! x
Tanya was absolutely lovely and incredibly accommodating, especially taking Bri in on such short notice. She kept me updated throughout the day with regular photos and always checked in to make sure Bri’s needs and any specific requirements were met. She provides a warm, homely environment where Bri clearly felt happy, well cared for, and safe.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
