“We used Georgia and Joe for the first time with our 7 month old westie puppy and they were truly fantastic. They could not have been accommodating to her needs, and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be using them again, Lottie had a great time! Thank you both so much.”

“Hannah was wonderful with our dog, Millie. Millie is normally very shy and wary of strangers, but she warmed to Hannah straight away, which says a lot. Hannah took great care to introduce Millie properly to her dog, Annie, who is a lovely and very friendly dog. Throughout the day Hannah kept us updated with photos, which really put our minds at ease. We felt confident that Millie was safe and well looked after. We would definitely book with Hannah again. 🐾”

“Karen was very accommodating with a last minute request to look after Ernie, and responded straight away to our request. Ernie had a great time and we wouldn’t hesitate to use Karen again.”

“Our 2 rescue dogs seemed to really enjoy their trial day. They had a lovely walk and snuggle on the sofa with Dan. Really appreciated the regular updates during the day. We shall definitely be booking again. Thank you.”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and today I’m a proud dog mum to a friendly, social Maltipoo who absolutely loves making new friends. Because of that, I regularly spend time with other dogs and often look after my dog’s friends, giving me hands on experience caring for different personalities, energy levels, and routines. What sets me apart is that I genuinely love having dogs around. I work primarily from home, so dogs in my care receive plenty of attention, supervision, playtime, and companionship throughout the day rather than being left alone for long periods. My dog is incredibly friendly and enjoys playing with visiting pups, helping them feel welcome and comfortable in our home. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a member of your family, so I treat every dog as if they were my own. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, socialising, or simply curling up for cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you can enjoy complete peace of mind. I work primarily from home, which gives me the flexibility to provide plenty of attention, companionship, playtime, and walks throughout the day. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I currently have a friendly Maltipoo who absolutely loves making new friends. In fact, I often look after and spend time with his doggy friends, which is what inspired me to join Rover. I genuinely enjoy having dogs around and, if I’m honest, I’d happily have a second dog of my own! Since that’s not currently on the cards, I love welcoming other pups into our home and making them feel like part of the family. Whether your dog loves long walks, play sessions, cuddles on the sofa, or simply having company during the day, I’ll make sure they receive lots of love, attention, and care while you’re away. Your dog’s happiness, safety, and comfort will always be my top priorities. I live in a safe, dog-friendly apartment complex with a large communal green space directly outside, perfect for regular toilet breaks and play. We are also just moments away from Chelmsford Central Park, where dogs can enjoy lovely walks, new smells, and plenty of exercise. My own dog is friendly, well-socialised, and loves playing with other dogs, so visiting pups often settle in quickly and enjoy having a companion around. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, which is why I treat every dog as if they were my own. I will follow your dog’s routine, feeding schedule, and any special requirements, while keeping you updated with regular photos, videos, and messages so you can enjoy complete peace of mind. My goal is to provide a genuine home-from-home experience where your dog feels loved, secure, and excited to come back.
“Ben & Gabriella are just the most wonderful sitters. They took the time to meet with us & Rolo before we booked. I left that meeting having absolutely no reservations that Rolo would be well cared for. He is an anxious boy at times so Rolo had a daycare today in preparation for his week stay coming up. He was very well looked after & settled quickly. Ben & Gabriella sent pictures & messages, their communication is great. I highly recommend Ben & Gabriella, they have a beautiful welcoming pet friendly home and will look after your pet as if it were their own. Rolo is looking forward to his overnight stay in a couple of weeks! 😁”

“If you are nervous of leaving your fur babies with someone new, I can highly recommend Susan. She is calm, patient, loving and treats your pet in a home from home experience in a safe environment. My dog lucca has just had the best three days with Susan. Games, cuddles and walks, all in one day and regular photos and video’s sent to me throughout the day. Super service and such a lovely person, you will not be disappointed. I will be booking again.”

“Tania and her family looked after our 1 year old puppy and took such good care of her and treated her like one of their own. Luna loved playing with her dogs and had a great day. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!”

About: I am a kind, caring and experienced pet sitter. I have looked after my family's dogs and cats for 5+ years. I pride myself on being a conscientious, caring and attentive dog and cat sitter. My family loves animals and love caring for them. My husband and I have been together for 10 years, and we have been living in Chelmsford for 5 years. We have two beautiful boys in our home who are comfortable around small dogs and cats. We have a secure garden, no pets and do not smoke. We ask that any dogs or cats are comfortable and safe around young children. I’m currently on maternity leave so I am home full time. We are up early with two young boys and spend lots of time outdoors. I have a fully secured garden so your dog can go in and out whenever needs to go to the toilet. I am available to care and give affection as I am based at home full time.

About: I’m currently accepting new clients and usually respond quickly. I’m a masters student at Anglia Ruskin University and a proud pet parent to my 4-year-old Labrador back home in India, whom I’ve raised since he was just a month old. Caring for him has given me a strong understanding of dog behaviour, routines, exercise, and daily care. I’m calm, patient, and comfortable around different temperaments, including energetic and anxious dogs. I’ve also spent time around street dogs, which has helped me become confident and adaptable with animals. While most of my hands-on experience is with dogs, I’m also happy to care for cats and other pets, always taking time to understand their individual routines and needs. Since moving to the UK, I’ve really missed being around animals, so I’d love to help with walks, drop-ins, companionship, or house sitting. I’ll always follow your instructions carefully and make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well looked after. I’m available most of the week except Monday and Tuesday mornings, and I’m happy to provide regular photo and video updates for peace of mind. I’m a 28-year-old master’s student at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford, currently working part-time alongside my studies. I’m generally available all days for pet care, including walks, drop-ins, and sitting, except Monday and Tuesday mornings when I have classes. Outside of that, my schedule is flexible and I’m happy to adjust around your pet’s routine to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. Animals are genuinely very close to my heart, and I treat them with the same care, patience, and attention I would give my own family. I have personally raised a Labrador from puppyhood to 4 years old on my own, so I’m very familiar with daily care, behaviour, and responsibility. I’m extremely observant about each pet’s personality, preferences, and comfort. I always follow owner instructions carefully and make sure every pet feels safe, relaxed, and loved in my care.
“Nicole was absolutely amazing with my Golden Retriever, Quaver. She sent lots of pictures and it was clear that he had an amazing day! He will definitely sleep well tonight. Thank you again & hopefully he can come and hang out with you again soon ❤️”

“Suzanna and her family all provided Ralph the most fabulous care, I’d have no worries entrusting them with Ralph again! Suzanna was thorough in ensuring she knew all that Ralph needed to enjoy his stay and kept me updated throughout his stay. A wonderful family who gave my pup a lovely day, a big thank you to them!”

Suzanna and her family all provided Ralph the most fabulous care, I’d have no worries entrusting them with Ralph again! Suzanna was thorough in ensuring she knew all that Ralph needed to enjoy his stay and kept me updated throughout his stay. A wonderful family who gave my pup a lovely day, a big thank you to them!

Ben and Gabriella were absolutely amazing with my dads dog, Bonnie. They were calm, gentle and affectionate towards her which helped her settle very quickly. They provided regular updates and photos, took her for walks and genuinely enjoyed looking after her. Bonnie came back very happy and very well cared for. I have no hesitation in recommending them and will definitely be booking in again. Thank you!
Sarah and Joe were recommended to me by their lovely friends, Gina and Sam who used to look after my dog for day care and boarding over several years through Rover but gave up dog care at the end of 2025 due to other commitments. From the moment I met Sarah and Joe at their home during our initial meet and greet, it was clear they are a genuine, caring and thoughtful couple with a real passion for dogs so I had no hesitation in leaving Millie in their care. During her day care, I really appreciated the regular updates, photos and messages which showed just how much Millie was enjoying herself. She spent the day in a relaxed, stress-free environment receiving plenty of attention through walks, cuddles and games of fetch in the shaded part of their garden. When I arrived to pick her up, it was obvious she had had a wonderful day. Millie was treated as part of the family rather than simply being looked after. She came home totally chilled and relaxed and is already looking forward to her next stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sarah and Joe to anyone looking for a safe, loving home-from-home environment for their dog. Thank you! x
Georgia and her partner looked after our 1 year old puppy Luna and were brilliant with her, they both took time to get to know her and all of her needs. Gave her lots of time and attention and also took extra care to make sure she stayed cool during a very hot day. We would definitely book again. Thank you ☺️

Tanya was absolutely lovely and incredibly accommodating, especially taking Bri in on such short notice. She kept me updated throughout the day with regular photos and always checked in to make sure Bri’s needs and any specific requirements were met. She provides a warm, homely environment where Bri clearly felt happy, well cared for, and safe.

Hayley was amazing, very communicative and we felt completely comfortable with Moose being over her care for the day. She took him on over an hour walk as well as another hour play on the garden, sent lots of pictures throughout the day and made sure he had the best time! We would highly recommend Hayley

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
